Kragg Stoneheart |

Party fund corrected and factored in for Big Mug's +2 fullplate. See Kragg's character page for details.
Another idea from previous page is wand of resist energy. Chainmail said we could get wands of 10 charges. 1 wand of each type?

Kragg Stoneheart |

I say N then NW.
Will make final decision tomorrow to let everyone chime in.
By the way this is Adam in case anyone didn't know.
Hope this character works out better for you. Just try not to die with a 8 con please ;p wimpy humans.

Hon would favor the Allies first option. And probably mobility second. Looking the group over, if you all choose heist, he would go stealth with a bag of popcorn just to watch this. ;-)
Once again, this is my first rogue (And I prefer rogues over all others)that is not much into thievery per se. Starting to jonesing for a simple pickpocket.

Joan the Hunter |

Toughness should go a long way to helping with that.
I think she will. I just hope that her archery skills come in handy.

Kragg Stoneheart |

Every group needs a good ranged combatant and a good rogue. We will have to settle for Hon in place of a good rogue ;P and 2 humans for the ranged comabatants. Just watch out if Magnum is throwing his hammer anywhere near you.
Speaking of which, what is Magnum going to do now? He was just gong to help us get to town. Is he taking off to go back to the tower?

Gallak Fangbreaker |

The type of resist is chosen by caster at time of casting. Potions must be stated, wands need not be.
If you want me to pull weight in combat, I'll need something with some oomph unless I'm up front, which is fine, but means that it'll be harder to buff. Basically equip me for whatever role we need, or for several.

What role do you want? We have enough people that all roles will get filled at some point.

Khazad Grimglaive |

I fully agree with Hon - this seems to be our primary need from a cleric, we got damage dealing covered pretty well. I feel that increased mobility would be a very important buff. Also something to quickly restrain Khazad in case the axe goes wild again :(
As for the quest options:
Ice ships - p. cool, and the mission we chose at Rock's.
Ice giants - Ideally I would not confront them until at least level 5, placing big hopes on Kib here... But maybe we won't be able to avoid it.
Tower of Power (I lol'd) - lucrative but perhaps we should arm ourselves with spell resistance first. Volcanic glass could come in handy.
Dark dwarves mine - also sounds like a good opportunity to me.
Renegade humans - can be strategically important right now as a leverage to undermine Society and give the new Dark Owl organization room to compete.
Heist - least favorite of mine, I am opposed to the idea (remember Khazad is LG).

Nar Redgrave |

I didn't cover that role very well as I went more battle cleric than casty/buffy. Hence the feat choices and spell choices.
I can adjust things if everyone wants and is OK with Chainmail.

![]() |

Keep your profile Nar. We can adapt. Hon is staying true to form despite Kib's and Kragg's ridicule. An example of this would be the +3 crossbow Hon has. Tempted to adjust to better fit the weapon, but this is not part of Hon's build. It is a tool that he could drop with ease. So this will be another way for the group to mock Hon and his substandard marksmanship. ;-)

Gallak Fangbreaker |

I've got expeditious retreat, giving me some amount of mobility buff. My heavy crossbow, while nonmasterwork, lets me engage at range, and I've a fair number of hit points. I need armor of some kind- Gallak's never had need of it before. I don't have a lot of bardic music rounds, but enough probably to shore us up if things look bad.
I can reliably use intimidate. I'm suited to melee casting with combat casting and light armor Proficiency.
Things I need: Armor, Cha buff.
Things I should carry: nonmagical/alchemical equipment. As my action economy is unimportant and expeditious retreat lets me move quickly, I am the most empowered to use cheap alchemical stuff. (thunderstones, smokesticks, etc)
Damaging Wands. My spell list is that of a non combatant.
My primary purpose will be informing you of enemy weaknesses and empowering you to take advantage of them, as well as mapping areas and recording notes.

Kibibblepep Sparkle Eye |

Way I see it, would make sense to go seek allies first, and then immediately put down the threat to the west before it gets any worse. Or even do it reverse, if it seems the threat is something we can handle ourselves. Most of the other things seems like they won't hurt by waiting.
Also, since the tower is already here, and we won't likely be this way again for some time, might be a good way to grab for more loot and get in good with the townsfolk (and the syndicate?) while we're at it. But that's me. Kib doesn't really care where we go long as there's foes to defeat and loot to grab.
Chainmail, any word yet on what exact properties the glass has and if it can be turned into weapons?

Chainmail |

It is not known the exact properties of laen as the material is quite legendary and rare. Weapons may disrupt spellcasters when arrow with laen heads or melee weapons hit making it difficult for them to cast afterwards. The master dwarf smith can make laen arrows or maybe daggers or shortswords from the materials you have. Maybe axe or hammer heads.

Joan the Hunter |

Question. Joan gets all of the gear Brask left behind, correct?
If that's the case if Hon wants the +3 mithril shirt of light fortification, I'm still up for trading it and the arrows for the +2 icy burst dagger.

Kragg Stoneheart |

Ok so Brask's equipment gets put in party fund. If Hon wants the armor then he could just trade out the dagger for the armor. however, since we have a few people with less wealth than others I will see about divvying up the wealth. For starters, Nar, Joan, and Gallak need armor. There should be enough for each to get a +1 armor of their choice as long as its not made of special material. That 250% is a killer. There is also a cloak of resist +1, a cloak of elven kind, and I think I gave my +1 cloak of resistance to Nar or Gallak already. More to come later.

Joan the Hunter |

I've got a mithril shirt, it just needs to be magicked up. The cloak of Elvenkind would probably be best given to whoever's doing the scouting that doesn't have one.
I'm assuming that Joan had gotten her equipment from well outside of Garrison and the Society's influence, if not, then uh-oh.

![]() |

Dug through the older posts, value of Hon's Mithril Chainshirt indicates non-magical. [/sad face]
Hon wants to keep the +2 Icy burst Dagger but also that Risk averse nature says +3 can't touch me armor is of more value than the +2 Up close and personal with Danger.
It breaks his heart, but he gives it up for the +3Mithril light fortification chain. OOC: This is a painful journey playing this way. So used to being in the middle of the fray, dodging, weaving, flanking and stabbing. Of course, I died. Alot.
Sorry Gallak. Hon just hands over the mthril shirt to you gratis with his apologies as he upgrades his own.
You mentioned arrows comes with this trade?

Kragg Stoneheart |

Hon your mithral chain was a +1 I just didn't post it to save time on myself earlier.
As far as the arrows go, Hon uses the crossbow so has no use for arrows.
Both Joan and Nar get the resist cloaks which leaves the elven cloak for Gallak.
To clarify for myself, Hon exchanges dagger for better armor, gives +1 mithral armor to Gallak, party fund pays for upgrading Joans armor (cost: 1000*1.2=1200 from Dwarf in Garrison). Since Nar took heavy armor proficiency, buy +1 full plate from dwarf for 2650*1.2=3180
Other purchases:
wand of cure mod full: 6750
wand of cure light full x2: 2250
total from party: 1200+3180+6750+2250=13380
Please gives specifics of what you want not just a general list and good chance of making a purchase.

Joan the Hunter |

Well I know what my next purchase is going to be :)
Just a +1 on the armor and a +1 on the bow will be fine if you think Joan needs it.
1200 + 2400 = 3600
IF we are +1'ing her bow, she is not doing any dungeon crawls. That's not a pretty way to die.

Kibibblepep Sparkle Eye |

Have my purchace list down on paper, but not with me.
But from memory, so far Kib's getting:
Whatever of Chr +2
Rod of Enlarge
Hand of the Mage
Pearl of Power (if Chainmail rules he can use it)
Handy Haversack
Wand of Firebal (10 charges)
Wand of Protection from Evil
Wand Scorching Ray (10)
Wand Rope Trick (10)
Wand Mirror Image (10)-maybe
Wand of Web (10)
Wand Fog Cloud (10)
Wand of Shield (10)-maybe
Wand of Vanish (25)
Wand of Lessor Restoration (25)
Wand of Enlarge Person (10)
Wand of True Strike (25)
Wand of Longstrider (25)
Scroll of Expiditious Retreat (2)
Kib will also request the smith use the bar of glass to evenly divide it up into bullets, arrowheads and bolts. How much will that cost?

Gallak Fangbreaker |

Why not a staff of "I got this"?
A) Vanish? One round of Invisibility for a move to draw wand and standard action to cast?
B) Wouldn't boots of striding and springing be a better investment than longstrider?
C) I've never had much luck with wands of True Strike. Though, combined with fog Cloud, I see the appeal.

Gallak Fangbreaker |

The true value of true Strike is to ignore miss chances. It allows sneak attacks in fog, for example. As for the +20, you most certainly hit.
It's using the wand that's difficult. I had the most luck with my improved familiar, using shared spells to get him to hit for sure.
Move action draw wand, standard action to use, then you have to attack. If you want to use a bow, you have to sheath or drop the wand... I just haven't found it terribly easy to use except as a Magus, a wizard with a mephit, or a rogue with major magic.

Kibibblepep Sparkle Eye |

Ha. Obviously those are too many wands for him to use alone, so he's happy to share with Gallak.
Am posting from my phone, so not convinient to check the SRD, many of those items are for him to cast on others, like longstrider and truestrike, but perhaps I've forgoitten those are self only?
And could point about Vanish, forgot it would just be one round with the wand, which is not really worth it methinks.
Only item over 10,000 he's selling is the +3 dagger of Def.
What happend to all the rest of the ores, the Dwarves back home got them? And can't recall, did Ninni take off with her +3 dagger?

Gallak Fangbreaker |

I think they're spell completion, providing the power of the spell but letting you finish it.
However, Invisibility does seem like a better investment. It'll be three minutes- plenty of time to do most things.
Perform: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 191d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 261d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 121d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 91d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 131d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 161d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Gold earned: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Silver earned: 2d10 ⇒ (8, 6) = 14
Copper earned: 3d10 ⇒ (10, 9, 7) = 26
Total= 5.66
Though on his third day he does manage to land a legitimate place onstage at a local theater, the day after Gallak returns to the compound with a bruise or two and cabbage hanging in his hair.
I don't want to talk about it, He complains, before limping off to bed.
The rest of the week is downhill, and he's looking forward to moving on.
Some or all of the negotiators should have courtiers outfits, perfume, and soap.

Kragg Stoneheart |

soap and perfume, we're dwarves we don't need to smell like elves. Let them buy the soap and perfume. Or are you thinking of cornering the market on soap and perfume and charging the elves an exorbant price to keep them smelling fresh? That sounds like a good plan to me.
Chainmail: only item Kragg trying to sell is +2 fire burst dagger. Since that is a weapon I should be in the clear.

Kragg Stoneheart |

@Kragg- wand of magic missile with 25-50 shots should suffice, shouldnt be too expensive. Plus I can give it to Kib when I take my Bbn level later
Cloak of hiding like a ^&$%# and +1 mithral shirt. Yes?
Can you even use a wand of Magic Missile. I didn't think that was a bard spell.
Yes to the 2 items.

Kragg Stoneheart |

What happend to all the rest of the ores, the Dwarves back home got them? And can't recall, did Ninni take off with her +3 dagger?
Those that weren't claimed were sold to the dwarves back home. No one wanted them or expressed any interest in them. Might be able to buy them back once we return however.
