Three groups of gaijin approach the Son of the Heavens, ruler of the Empire of Mists, in his palace in far Lanzhu. A great war is underway in the west, this is known, but what could these strangers want?
Oilfield work is dirty, like after the day is over, not even the hottest shower cleans the crud out from under my nails. -.-; And diesel/crude stinks something awful.
A small moment in the life of a whiny oilfield worker =)
Long work weeks at remote camps filled with hairy men and testerone makes one homesick for something other then the smell of diesel, crude oil and the stories of a single man's ability at conquering the brothels of Thailand. :p
I prefer the company of temple priestess and samurai thank you! Especially after 6 years of the above info. It gets old reallllllllllllllly fast...
Hi everyone, I want to apologize, sincerely, for my utterly unexpected two-week absence. Some travel mishaps (just annoyances and delays, nothing dangerous) got me home late from that last tour, which put me behind on a death-march kinda project at work, the long hours of which put me behind on my studio work...you get the idea. Things got completely ridiculous really fast. In the end, something had to give, and I got to the point where I was terrified to even come out here and check the threads 'cos I knew I wouldn't be able to devote the time to replies that you all deserve.
Anyway, back now, catching up, posting.
Oh, and also; I know that in general I tend to take basically everything more seriously than folks around me, so I'm also sorry if this all just sounds silly. But I do mean it.

Howdy! Thanks so much for checking in, man, I appreciate it. I'm still just completely swamped. Every time I think I'm getting my head above water, I get yanked back down. I promise I haven't forgotten about y'all, I have every intention of getting things kicked back into gear. There's still a lot of story to tell...

Bringing the OOC convo back over here---you KNOW, I don't know that we can throw ourselves a level, but ...I'm actually totally up for the idea of writing a flashback for our characters to pass the time and get back into the feel.
The question is-where is the best place to do that?
I suppose it could go up on either here or the gameplay thread, though if it is the latter, we should probably prefix the entry with something like -------- xx years ago -------- and hide it under a spoiler tag, just to minimize any confusion when our glorious leader returns to us...
Bleargh. Apparently I needed to pull a Bill Watterson there and take two straight sabbaticals. Yeesh. >_< I was gonna write another apology/explanation, but I figure everyone would prefer it greatly if I used that energy just to post, instead, so that's what I'm gonna do. :-)
Life is beyond ludicrously busy for me right now, so I still may miss a day or two here and there, but I am committed to my games. Thank you all for sticking around despite those lacunas.
Oh, hey, Na-Calanon. Has Damian met the other two?
You mean Illuminata and Lilitine? He has not, actually, although if Professor Luckbender were around, he would be well acquainted with both of them. Lesotho has not been a big factor in the PbPs just yet, but that's about to start changing. My IRL games are well-acquainted with Lesothan troops, and Minathiel, Bardas, and Nurianna have even taken counsel with the General at a gathering in H'Arun, called by the king of that place, King Faruq Ibn T'ha Ibn Melor Ibn Benen Ibn L'had, to discuss certain matters.
Her name is Lilitine Citanu, "calla" is just the name of whoever that is in the jpg, who I chose to represent her. :-p It is quite likely Aylaeth would at least know of the captain. Whether or not they were friends or enemies or what, I leave up to you.
And no, I hadn't forgotten Aylaeth. Luckbender's was the first name that came to mind for various reasons. No offense meant. :-)
