Isn't there a feat that lets you apply those once per day hexes an additional time per day?
GM-JZ |
Guys how important is it to you to have the line of sight areas blacked out on a map? I.e. Are you ok if i dont do vision blocking any more?
Basically i think im going to switch the map onto a Google Slides shared doc because otherwise i can only update the map at home which is likely when you all are in bed rather than through the day. Itll keep things moving quicker and smoother. But that means I lose the functionality of maptools
I dont think its a big deal but thought id ask :)
Vermundr |
What I usually do is just add black boxes over areas that aren't explored. You can add and delete objects with a couple clicks in google slides.

I'm feralascendant@gmail.com.
Though I normally don't worry about it. I've never had anyone crash my google slides and in the event that things get messed up, slides has a pretty robust revisions history so you can always roll things back.

I'm all for easier mapping.
I always make my maps public, have been doing so for 3 years, and have never had a single problem.
Hazel Stokes |
Not to mention Slides can be used on mobile devices as well - huzzah!
Also I may or may not get a post in this morning before I crash; got some other things to see to on the forums and I'm working again tonight rather unexpectedly so I'll need to get some sleep. If I don't post pretty soon, feel free to bot Hazel as needed and I'll catch up later tonight or tomorrow.

I'm very tempted to keep beating the trolls into unconsciousness for a few rounds to let my fast healing get me to full since it only works "in combat" lol.
Zed Ulmin |
I'm beating their regeneration into myself :P

Hmm. The only fire attack I have is the spontaneous immolation power. I guess I can light these guys up again and hope it finishes them off. Per the rules on regeneration:
Regeneration (Ex) A creature with this ability is difficult to kill. Creatures with regeneration heal damage at a fixed rate, as with fast healing, but they cannot die as long as their regeneration is still functioning (although creatures with regeneration still fall unconscious when their hit points are below 0). Certain attack forms, typically fire and acid, cause a creature’s regeneration to stop functioning on the round following the attack. During this round, the creature does not heal any damage and can die normally. The creature’s descriptive text describes the types of damage that cause the regeneration to cease functioning.
So if I snap one on fire for a round, even if it saves vs. the spell, it loses its regeneration for one round and then Vremundr or Zed can give it a coup de grace.

I can cast blistering invective.

If you hit troll 1 with that spell it dies, It was only on a couple of hitpoints when Vermundr slashed it again

I actually had this really cool picture in my mind of Zed turning his back and walking away, then when the trolls started to stand up he pauses and says "Burn." Then keeps walking.

Have you ever read the Preacher comics? Amazon have made a TV series of it too.
There's a scene exactly like that in one of the issues.

I'm here, but I'm going to give things just a little bit to see if anyone has a way to prevent Kaz from actually being picked up (Hazel doesn't) or an idea to get him down that doesn't involve him falling to his death before I do my post. Only thing I can think of would be to try and lasso him with a rope but I expect doing so would be pretty hard with the wind :\
Zed Ulmin |
Man I hate whirlwind. So little counterplay available.
Val, when the whirlwind drops him can you use jesters jaunt to get him up here?
GM-JZ |
This encounter is incredibly deadly. I have seen more than one TPK with this.
The rules I think technically allow the whirlwind to lift several of you at the same time. And the elemental is smart enough to know to just drop you off the edge. But I'm only going with one person being picked up per round because otherwise this is an extremely tough encounter.
Vermundr |
This encounter is rough for a level 6 party but we've got some options.
Vala could ready to jester's jaunt anyone that gets dropped off the bridge. Fly is less helpful because it's a touch spell.
Elementals have minds. Do our psychics have any options for pinning it down?
Vermundr |
It's obviously GM JZ's call but I don't know that suggestion is automatically ruled out. Summons don't come with built in mind control, they just have pre-established orders.

I'm moving over the next couple days so my posting may be a bit spotty. I've have my phone but I don't know that I'll have a ton of time to check on PBPs. Please NPC me as necessary.

You have my sympathies, Verm. We just sold our place and bought a new one...but we'll have a two-week gap between moves. So life is last-minute repairs and packing. with a nine month old.
I'll give an update later this month when I'm officially homeless...thank the sweet merciless gods for the Internet at work!
