Glad to see you back Raj :)

Welcome back Raj! :D

Thanks, guys!

Nice to see you back, Raj. Jump in whenever you can :)

HP:16 | AC:16 ; T:14 ; FF:12 ; CMD:16 | Fort:+3 ; Ref:+6 ; Will:+4 | Init:+4 ; PER:+7

I will. I'm gonna let Zed finish his sweep since one person in the rickety building at a time seems best to prevent really bad things from happening. :)

retired

Glad to see you again, Raj!

And, given the immediate threat of total building collapse and certainly worse dangers in the prison proper, might I offer that should Vala be tragically taken from us by nefarious means, I will be happy to bring in Glenn, my grippli paladin of Iomedae, as a replacement. =P

No Grippli Paladins!!!

Besides, there's just a sprawling, decrepit haunted prison - nothing to be nervous of there

retired

lol - one day, JZ, one day you'll see the brilliance of it! the possibilities!

Not on my watch.

I see Vala is deploying tried-and-true "The DM better not kill my character because the next one will be really bad." ;)

retired

Oh man, JZ got to you too? Bad? Just the opposite! A princely knight trapped by tragic curse in a froggy form, questing for redemption and absolution from past regret and failures?

I maintain that such a character would be perfect! Perfect for this AP!

Man. I gotta spread the Grippli Gospel more boldly with you excellent people!

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

So, this?

retired

EXACTLY! =D

Inactive

^ Vala and Constantin are now two of my favorite people for that :3

I don't want to be negative - but no.

Inactive

Hehe, for my part I'm just teasing GM. I do think a grippli paladin could be interesting in a homebrew game or an altered version of Kingmaker where you make a kingdom for more 'unusual' races, but obviously this game is neither of those things.

retired

Don't worry you two, I haven't given up on you yet. One day, one day you'll fully open your hearts to the Grippli Gospel. And that day, that day will be a joyous day, friends.

Just a general procedural suggestion:

I've seen a number of pbp games over the years that really bog down in a dungeon crawl kind of situation, when a decent size to large group all chimes in at every intersection. (THAT IS NOT AN ACCUSATION ABOUT THIS GROUP OR ANYONE IN IT!)

I've also seen some groups do very well nominating a point-person, who basically navigates. Of course, for major decisions or curiosities, the group chimes in.

I am perfectly OK with Zed (Or Raj or whoever) taking point here and steering us. I trust any member of this party to chime in when needed, or to keep the flavor alive, but we don't lose a day at every intersection while we build consensus.

Would everyone be OK with that? Not blocking the rest of us out of decision making, but just keeping things flowing?

Note, I'm fine if that's not the way to go, and let me emphasize again, nothing here is a criticism of the group or its playstyle. Rather, take it a a sign that I am really enjoying this game and don't want it to bog down...

Male Dhampir Inquisitor 12 | AC 28, Touch 14, FF 26 | HP 69/99 | F +13, R +9, W +15 (+2 vs disease/mind-affecting, -1 vs ability score damage/drain) | Init +7 | Perc +25

I agree Kaz. On all points.

I don't care if it's me or somebody else that leads, but either way I will be vouching for the rule of left.

Rule of Left
- Take the left most turn at any intersection if there is not any obvious reason not to.

Explores quickly without constant decision making and also makes it hard to get lost.

Thats fine guys. You know by now that I hate to get a game bogged down and the whole mantra of this particular game was to keep it fast paced.

So in general I will wait until Zed or Raj open a door or in the interest of keeping things moving will make them open a door, usually perception checks in place etc, and move left where appropriate

HP:16 | AC:16 ; T:14 ; FF:12 ; CMD:16 | Fort:+3 ; Ref:+6 ; Will:+4 | Init:+4 ; PER:+7

Works for me. I tend to search things systematically... I hate leaving unexplored areas behind me as that is usually the room that holds a nasty surprise.

Inactive

That sounds good to me and I also heartily endorse the Rule of Left since it's what my F2F group always does.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

No argument here.

retired

agreed as well

Last post was primarily a 'flavor' post from Hazel, not really intended to start a big debate about whether to use holy water right now or not! Even during a dungeon crawl I like to try and post some little something so the DM knows I'm still around.

Yes please! Id still like everyone to post regularly even if it is exposition or conversation.

So...anyone got any big holiday plans for this week? Or just plans if you don't celebrate? I figure we're in the holiday slowdown zone at this point, but that doesn't mean we can't chat a little here in the meantime :)

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Usual Monday and Tuesday for me. Weds I'm driving about 6+ hours, Thurs & Fri with the in-laws. Currently soliciting for bribes from the groups that I run, from among those who bake Christmas goodies. :)

Im working right up until Xmas eve
Which is not as bad as my girlfriend who is working Xmas Day!

But yeah I think we are slowing down a little for the holidays. I won't need to travel or anything so will still be pretty active.

They are predicting the warmest Xmas Day on record in the UK, the weather here has been really weird - raining a lot but still quite warm. I think it's why I don't feel particularly in the holiday spirit.

I did watch Star Wars yesterday though so that was awesome :)

I'll be around home, mostly, so I can keep going.

Also saw Star Wars...

Enjoy the holidays, those that do!

Dude, I'm in NJ in the States and it has been crazy toasty here as well! We're back down in chillier temperatures this week, but man did the warm spoil it feeling like Chrismastime!

As for holiday plans, I believe myself, my younger brother, and his wife will be convening at my parents' house for Christmas Day. Looking forward to my church's Christmas Eve service the night before as well.

Inactive

Oh I'll still be around too and will post as I can for sure. It's also been unusually warm here in TN and my phone is telling me Christmas Eve/Day is likely to be rainy with a high of nearly 70 F :\

HP:16 | AC:16 ; T:14 ; FF:12 ; CMD:16 | Fort:+3 ; Ref:+6 ; Will:+4 | Init:+4 ; PER:+7

Vala, I didn't realise you are in NJ! I'm in Brooklyn... well, normally, I'm in Brooklyn. We flew out the California yesterday. So my wife, myself, and our intrepid dachshund are on the Left Coast for the holiday this year.

What's 70 in centigrade, like 20, 21? Yeah not that warm :/

I know a few people who have flown out to Australia for Christmas and are planning on having a BBQ on the beach instead of Christmas lunch. That just doesn't seem right to me....

NG Male Human Investigator (Psychic Detective)9 lvl 1 spells 6/7 lvl2 5/5 lvl3 4/4 Insp: 10/12 HP 48/48 Init +0, Per +16 AC 18/14/18 Frt3,Rfx6,Wll8

20,21 c is only 'Not that warm' when your average ISN't 0 or -5 c... which it is.

I'm in Pittsburgh, here. 72f Thursday, 32f yesterday, probably 60f for Christmas.

Inactive

Yeah, under normal circumstances I'd agree that 70F/21C is actually quite comfortable. But considering the average highs and lows for this area of the country at this time of year are usually more along the lines of 30F/0C to 50F/10C...it's definitely warmer than usual :P

Anyway, re: gameplay I'm good with withdrawing and letting Zed beat the things down if that's what everyone else wants to do.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Fine with me. Since I have a reach weapon I can even Aid Zed from behind.

I meant 'not that warm' as in the UK is warmer than usual but nowhere near that!

Inactive

Whoops hehe, misunderstood you then. Sorry about that!

I'm also Ok with backing out and letting Zed go to work.

That said, I have magic missile, but I only have 3 lvl 1 spells/day, and I'd rather keep those in pocket for something incorporeal. This seems like that kind of place...

HP:16 | AC:16 ; T:14 ; FF:12 ; CMD:16 | Fort:+3 ; Ref:+6 ; Will:+4 | Init:+4 ; PER:+7

I'll stick around to provide a flank for Zed's attacks. Best to end the fight as quickly as possible. JZ is it possible to grapple the manacles?

I don't see why you couldn't grab hold of them

Inactive

Note to self: Hazel needs to go buy a mace or other bludgeoning weapon whenever we head back to town. I tend to play casters more than melee so I'm bad to forget that picking up a weapon to cover each of B/P/S is usually a good idea :|

Male Dhampir Inquisitor 12 | AC 28, Touch 14, FF 26 | HP 69/99 | F +13, R +9, W +15 (+2 vs disease/mind-affecting, -1 vs ability score damage/drain) | Init +7 | Perc +25

Indeed. I made that same mistake myself. I need a good slashing weapon, perhaps a scythe would be appropriately terrifying...

I had to skip that or it would have taken forever

lol - 2500 posts in "WE FINALLY BROKE THAT SECOND FREAKING CHAIN! HUZZAH!"

I am always in favor of anything that removes or reduces tedium from the PbP experience. I think we've been doing pretty good considering we're only what...3 or 4 months in at the most and already a fair bit over 1k posts in Gameplay? I've got other games that have been active for nearly two years and only have in the low 3-4k post range, if that says anything :)

Always been my intention and thank you guys for supporting it.

As a comparison I have another game that has been running for just over a year and has nearly 4k posts (Nov 2014 to now and 3,615 posts) and I think you guys are running hotter than that.

Also, the quality of posting in this game is great too
