Into to Bebaushie:

The table could easily seat a dozen people, but only one sits at it obscured by dozens of dishes, mugs, glasses, bowls and books.

Either she doesn’t notice you or ignores you as you sit next to her, scribbling with painful slowness in a book.

Reading it from your angle, you can see it is a list.

Rhubarb pie Hate
Coffee, can I have its babies? LOVE
Bread, like
Blueberry pie, like
Tea like
Mutton, not sure
Roses like
Silk Like, get sleep clothing of this
Bacon, like
Lilac don’t like
Whiskey, Love, is there a whiskey coffee mix?

The books cover a selection of topics, most are poetry or history, one is a thesauruses and another is titled Demon to Person Translation: Tips and tricks for speaking the language.

She constantly refers to this book, sounding out words sometimes a dozen or more times.

A long tail lashes between the dishes and cups, bringing a constant influx of food and drink to her full lips, turning pages on books and scratching behind her ears.

She is tall for a women, just under six feet, and heavier than she looks, her chair groaning with each movement.

Brilliant red hair cascades down her back and shoulders dragging on the floor as she sits.

Small black horns lance out above glittering scarlet eyes, framed with thick lashes, eyes that now look to you.

You’ve seen that look before, in feral animals, once loved now abandoned to the street.

Hungry, angry, desperate, looking for someone to help, anyone at all.

So, you need to know about me?

I am Bebaushie, my father was a Paladin of Shylen and my mother a Succubus.

I was born in an underground fortress in the worldwound, I watched my mother break my father and I escaped with him a few months ago.

That’s all I want to say about that, your mortal imagination cannot compare to the reality.

Father was born in this city, I…I don’t know his name, he lost it before I could talk, but before he passed after our escape he asked me to bring him here.

I came here to learn about him if I could, and myself.

And father, we cremated him, I have him with me…at least, until I can find our family.

I don’t know your ways, Mortal, I am learning, but it is hard. Money, marriage, property, SKY?

How do we not fly into the air…you humans give each other bits of shiny metal for things you want?

Aren’t you strong enough to take it?!?
I’m sorry, sorry,sorry,sorry….I’m a good girl, we don’t do that now…

But, I’m learning so many new things, there is so much…niceness here.

But it is hard.

Can you help me, please? I really need help..

I took Tagging Along, it is most likely she would be at the protests to keep an eye on her friend...and vice versa!

Hmm, is Fey Magic/Fey Thoughts allowed? If so would an occult reflavoring be allowed?

I've actually decided to back out of this. While I'd love to play in Hell's Rebels, managing what I know, what my first table knows, waht my second table knows, and what my character knows as separate 'files' just doesn't seem like something I'd be extremely capable of doing. It'd be dishonest and disingenuous to even try. So... good luck! :)

Okay, Adhan Cielo here, here's Mirais!
Only her backstory for now, but I will post crunch, personality, and description in a bit. (By the by, I've settled on a Herald Caller)

Background (Long-ish, character POV):
Mirais paced back and forth trough the room, her tail drawing spirals on the floor as she did so. Without thinking, the tiefling reached out to the teapot on the table to pour a cup of tea to calm her nerves, only to remember a moment after that it was empty. Letting out a snarl of frustration, Mirais put it back onto the table with a sonorous *clang*, before moving to the window and looking outside. Barely, the tiefling could see the Opera House gently lit by the moonlight, and Thrune's lackeys carrying furniture, books, and a bathtub.

A bathtub. A bathtub! That Barzillai closed the Opera House and was moving in with his bathtub! She had finally got an important part (in the Huntress of Heroes, no less), and then a Thrune moves in and puts the city under martial law. And to add insult to injury, he set himself into the Opera House because he said he 'loves the arts'. By the Nine Hells, how does that translate in deprieving everyone of the possibility of enjoying art to use the theatre as an house?
Snapping her jaws in anger and lashing with her tail left and right, Mirais slumped off on her bed.
Things were finally starting to turn for the better, all of her efforts were about to bear fruits, and now everything had crumbled down. And that was without counting the fact that things were probably going to get worse...

Slowly, she picked up her pendant, an holy symbol of Shelyn, and put in on the desk near the bed before removing her glove. Pulling back her sleeve, she raised her hand in the air, palm to the ceiling, and stared at it. A moment after, unsurprisingly, an eye emerged from the back of her hand and blinked back, before disappearing again in her skin like a wood log into a muddy swamp.
”Like a song, the only beauty that matters comes from whitin...” Mirais muttered, reciting the words her “aunt” told her years ago.
In fact it had been, what, almost exactly ten years? She had been desperate for weeks, after grotesque eyes and mouths started appearing on her skin, shifting and disappearing in her flesh, and she walled up in her room alone, only letting Henriet, the elderly cleric of the temple, bring her dinner. All of the Shelynite temple of Kintargo cared for her since they took her in, but it was the old woman in particular that was the closest thing Mirais could call a family.
That evening, Henriet brought Mirais a cup of Mint Tea to calm her nerves, consoled her as she did the days before and all the years before that. and told the tiefling something that finally made something click in her mind, that gave Mirais hope for her future...

”Like song, the only beauty that matters comes from within: as an elegant attire doesn't make an artist any better, a stunning appearence doesn't make a person any gooder. Even if now you think that's impossible, work on who you want to be: in time, you'll learn to love the world and yourself.” the tiefling said clutching the holy symbol in her hand, sitting up on the bed and looking at the Opera House and Thrune's troops moving in. Since that day, she started to work towards becoming what she wanted to be, to forget about the demons of her past, and to sing: how happy she was when her sung prayers granted her Shelyn's blessing for the first time!
And now, she even got to have an important part on the stage of the Opera House: the same stage where it didn't matter who she were, but only the music she produced. And maybe, if people liked her singing, one day they could like her as a person...

Once again, Mirais got up from her bed and looked out of the window, in the direction of Arya Park. Naturally, Barzillai Thrune's insediation in the city didn't sit well with more than one person: the tiefling had heard that there was going to be a protest in the Park in the next days, and the tiefling was now sure that she would attend. She would not stand idly as some insane mint-hater destroyed the life that she had been building.
If she was able to learn to sing even without any talent, to almost silence the darkness in her hearth, and start forgiving herself for being the cause of her mother's death, then Kintargo could surely muster up its courage and kick that deranged despot with the ridiculous armor out of the city.

Background(TL;DR version, classic):
Raised in Kintargo's Songbird Hall, Mirais never knew her parents, who lived in the outskirts of Kintargo. Her father was an agent of the Pathfinder Society that died on the field before Mirais' mother gave birth to her. Her mother, on the other hand, shared the fate of all that bear a Motherless child. In this tragedy, however, the baby tiefling was lucky in the fact that Henriet, a friend of Mirais' late mother, was a cleric of Kintargo's temple of Shelyn.
Mirais' childhood wasn't an easy one: the Shelynites that took her in were always kind to her, but being raised without parents was hard enough even without her abyssal heritage gnawing at her mind. It wasn't as if there were voices in her head, dark whispers from behind her, or other hoghwash that Mirais read in cheap fiction: her thoughts just naturally wandered to dark thoughts where everyone was out for himself, sinful, and only plotting to do her harm.
As if that wasn't enough, at the start of her adolescence, grotesque eyes and mouths appeared on Mirais' skin, shifting and disappearing in her flesh, spiraling black symbols around them.

But, thanks in no small part to “Aunt Henriet”, Mirais managed to not let despair take a hold of her life: she dedicated herself to Shelyn's teachings and to singing, despite having no natural talent for the latter and her nature pulling her in theopposite direction of the Eternal Rose. Still, trough sheer force of will, the qlippoth-spawn managed to start building the life that she wanted, even so far as to finally obtain an important role in Kintargo's Opera House. Though, notoriety wasn't really what Mirais wanted.
Obtaining (and performing!) the part meant for the tiefling to show herself that she was able to overcome her hardships, to show herself and the world that she was able to produce something beautiful and surpass her nature. If her qlippoth heritage made her hate the world, she would learn to love it. If her heritage made her think that there was only darkness in the hearth of man, she would learn to find beauty in it. Starting from herself...

However, Barzillai Thrune's arrival shattered the stability that the tiefling was obtaining, and she was now fearing that that was only the first of many calamities that would befall Kintargo if the paracount wasn't stopped: having realized that, the tiefling set to join the protest in Arya Park, hoping that her and the rest of Kintargo could repel Thrune.

Also this I'll go trough the other submissions and findi other character that could be connected to a Cleric of Shelyn raised up in the temple and that spends most of her time either there or in the Opera House (After a brief look over the other characters, almost everyone seems to satisfy at least one of those :3)

@Bebaushie: Let's try to not get either of us killed this time <3
I'm of course up for Mirais and Beba to have met before the event of the AP: she's far less angsty than her last incarnation, and she'd be super happy to help out Bebaushie.

Last time we met, we where in a meat grinder.

This time, I believe the odds of sudden random death syndrome will be reduced.

Be and Mirai having met and established a relationship before is a good match for me as well!

Now if memory serves, Lydia, Davina Eradon, Samrariel are all worshipers as well.

Lotta us looking up to the pretty lady.

It would, however, work with a Half-Orc with Sacred Tattoo.

Part two incoming!

Appearance:
Considering the usual appearance of other Qlippoth-spawns, Mirais is more than lucky: with just a superficial glance, the woman looks no different than a normal tiefling. Indeed Mirais, even if a little plain, is a rather attractive young woman, moving with grace and blood red hair fashioned in elaborate adorning her head. There is usually, however, something else that usually catches people's attention about her appearance: the tiefling is always almost completely covered in layers of clothing, with only her face and tail showing any of her skin.
In fact, the rest of Mirais' body is much more akin to that of most Qlippoth-spawn: unnerving eyes and fanged mouths continuously appear and disappear under her skin, bringing along with the dark spiraling scriptures in the Abyssal tongue. While Mirais usually has enough control to not make them drift off toward her face or tail, in moments of intense emotions the mouths and eyes show up even on her face and tail, wriggling and moving frantically.
The trained observer could also notice, particularly in combat (actual or just the training that she practices to release stress and keep herself fit), that the tieflings moves somewhat unnaturally, as her joints aren't quite where they should be, or that she was warping the space around her instead of moving herself.
And, if everyone ever saw her biting someone, he would quickly notice that Mirais maw (still larger than most and with wicked, pointy teeth) is not unlike that of some terrifying deep sea creature.

Personality:
Mirais has gone a long way from when she was a child frightened by her own inhuman thoughts. Even if she's still struggling to learn to like herself as she is and to forgive herself to be the cause of her mother's death, the tiefling has managed to find a semblance of serenity in her life. While prone to second guess herself and generally being kind of shy, the qlippoth-spawn usually always gives people an helping hand if she can. While she has learned how to keep in check her heritage's hatred running deep into her, the tiefling still has a somewhat short fuse. Among all things, people that throw the towel and surrender easily: not surprising, considering the qlippoth-spawn's past, and something that if correctly channeled could make the difference when trying to bring people on the rebellion's side.

She has an unusual love for Mint Tea, and always drinks some to calm her nerves. As can be expected, Barzillai's two proclamations have made it so she is more jittery than usual, and if she had not other reasons to do so, the outlawing of her favorite drink would have been enough to hate the paracount.

I'll go trough the rest of the other characters tomorrow, about half-way trough. For now...
@Rysky: Hey, we need a lyre player at the Opera House: there are a couple of pieces in the Huntress of Heroes where we need a couple!
That aside, if we both get in it will be fun seeing how Mirais and Saturday coped in two different ways with their respective industrial quantities of hate/rage/angst.

@Jessibel: Speaking of the Huntress of Heroes, I suppose it's a given that Jessibel and Mirais have met: they supposedly both got an important part in the play. :P
Maybe they've been studying together the part before the Opera House got closed down? I'm not sure before that: Mirais has been practicing in the Opera House since forever, so Jessibel probably knew her from sight before and vice versa. Mirais surely noticed Jessibel's diva personality, and she probably noticed the Tiefling just for the fact that she goes around completely covered in clothing even in summer.

@Septimus Falkland: You mentioned that you would have liked the Extra Teamwork feat, right? Would you be willing to trade it up with the Psychic sensibility feat? Psychometry is the coolest thing ever. *.*

Right, before I forget again.
Reason to protest: To protest the government. I keep forgetting to put it into my posts. <.<

Silver Crusade

@Mirais: Really? Yay!

And yeah, that would be fun ^w^

@EmissaryOfTheNorth/Fix: I looked over your back story, and would be interested in having our characters know each other. If Fix pretends to be a halfling, it would make sense that he would have a halfling friend.

Yeah, I'm assuming that Jessibel's done some bit parts at the opera house over the past year or two, but Mirais would probably be up for bigger parts than the 'new kid.' I'm thinking Jessi's more interested in being more of a theater/tavern star than an opera star. Opera's too "grown up" for her :)

Lorani's character sheet is done, except for her extra teamwork feat from the boon. This will be filled in after conversing with other players if she is chosen.

Her reason to protest is Staying Up on Current Events.

I'm still looking to fill in connections to other characters.

Leora's character sheet is done - I'm the hidden cleric of Cayden Cailean mentioned in the OP, focusing on support. I may swap out Scribe Scroll for a different feat and take brew potion down the road. The Pathfinder wiki lists liberation as one of Cayden's domains, but other sources like Hero Labs don't. Let me know if I'll need to switch it out.

Reason to Protest: Looking for Your Idol: Leora is looking for the ex-mayor, or at least a sign of others who are fed up with the current state of affairs in Kintargo.

Leora might have encountered some of the characters at the Lucky Goat tavern where she works, or in a friendly game of cards or dice.

I think that was defined loosely as, "nothing a class feature is based off". So for an inquisitor, figure Wisdom.

(Important caveat: I'm not the DM and going from memory on this.)

@Leora: Cayden originally had Liberation as a domain back in the days of 3.5, but when Pathfinder came out all gods were standardized to 5 domains (with four for empyreal/demon lords etc), and now it's no longer a domain except by GM allowance.

@Mellok: Inquisitor would be Wisdom, and most likely either Str or Dex depending on what weapons you use.

Lorani wrote:

No, but I'll probably really want said connection going forward...! :)

Mellok wrote:

For me, he mentioned Swashbucklers cannot choose Dexterity or Charisma. So basically, not the stat you use for your class features or the one you use to fight, was my understanding.

Blurg, reroll was Alkenstar. Not a fan of guns to begin with and we already have a gunslinger so I'll take my +2 to a secondary stat and its time to dig deep for an unconventional character. I will be a Bellflower operative of a very unorthodox nature.

Since the deadline is coming up fast, I just wanted to state that a connection between Lorani and Fix the goblin is in the works.

Redblade8, I think that if we're both chosen, there may be some fun roleplaying. Maybe Lorani will try to recruit you/help you.

By the way, GM Paladin, you've gotten that song stuck in my head, and it's been there constantly for days!

I agree, both on the rp point and that that song is just JAMMED hard into my brain now despite having seen the show almost 25 years ago.

The Exchange

And here comes the connections between Lorani and Fix!
I will keep it brief because what this connection can provide will be great in game but I fear won't be more than background if I fully write it here.

Fix and Lorani:

Since Fix left his companions, he felt alone and tiny as he has never felt before. So tiny he was feeling that when he arrived to the city of Kintargo, he did so disguised as a halfling traveller.
The first days were hard, knowing nobody and with no place to stay he tried to lay low and spent his time hunting rumours in the alleys and inns.
Well, that and drinking for his first time. A night in which Fix drank too much for someone shorter than a wooden stool he jumped to a table and regaled the people in the inn with the tale of his crusade for freedom, just omitting the part where the poor oppressed people were Goblins.

Who could know that a particular halfling would be there that night? Fix sure couldn't, but Desna knows he is glad she was.
The day after his rally a hangover suffering Fix woke up in the inn to the prettiest angel he had ever saw. On the other side of the picture Lorani was looking at the half drunken half sick "halfling" that slept over a table surrounded by glasses and snacks.

A lot of water has flow under the bridge ince that day in which Fix and Lorani met, not a single day without laughs and surprises and after all those little adventures Fix and Lorani became best friends.

But perhaps the biggest surprises of them all were when after much thought Lorani trusted Fix with her secret: She was a Bellflower agent, a helper of the enslaved, a warrior for freedom. For Fix this was a real omen. Her best friend, the only person in the world whom he trusted, was also a freedom fighter as he wanted to be.
This revelation made Fix abandon all care. He removed his disguise and told Lorani his real story, begging her to wait for the end.

Against all odds Fix and Lorani remain the biggest friends who ever friended in the history of friends, or they like to say that. And against all common sense they remain aspiring liberators of the oppressed people of Kintargo.

When does recruitment end?

At 8th level, the caster level increase becomes 1d4. She can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier.

The Fluff:

Adolina is a Varisian Caravan negotiator. She is in Kintargo ostensibly for a very lucrative trade deal concerning highly sought after Varisian weaving's, common knowledge is that she is also running weapons into Cheliax to arm the population against house Thune. What remains a secret is that the true mission of Adolina's caravan is to smuggle north escaped halfling slaves out of Cheliax. Adolina is going to the protests in hope of making contact with the local Bellflower contingent as her handle went quite after martial law was declared and locked her into the city.

hmm It will not let me edit my languages, time to make a profile for Adolina.

With an 18 int and 1 rank in linguistics as a Varisian my intended languages are Common and Varisian, then Elven, Halfling, Infernal, Shadowtongue and Strix. Am I incorrect that a Varisian automatically gets Varisian and common? Are there any other languages better suited?

Apologies for the disappearance. I am still interested in joining this game and currently working on the character I plan to submit.

It looks like I will probably be able to present you with a finished profile on the very day of the deadline I hope that is okay, and I understand completely if submitting a character this late in the recruitment hurts my chances but I am happy to take the risk of that than present a character I am not completely happy with.

Here's my big post listing everyone's who's posted a character so far, also answer questions.

I'm sorry to so it this late, but I'll have to bow out. A friend of mine decided to run Hell's Rebels and I'll play in that campaign.

No worries, have fun! It actually makes my decision slightly easier.

I would like to take the Heirloom Weapon trait, but I would like to select a proficiency with an Exotic Weapon. Would that be ok? See Here. Is anybody else playing someone new to Kintargo, or basically just arrived by ship, or maybe just playing a local sailor-type character?

I wouldn't mind the Heirloom Weapon as proficiency with an exotic weapon, but it can't be a firearm or a siege weapon.

The Gunslinger player already in the game is going to be new to Kintargo.

Quick question, does the trait Fate's Favored work with Halfling Luck?

Also, I would like to add some Bellflower Network pamphlets to her inventory. Is there a cost to these, or are they OK to be free since they're just flavor?

It does not, as Halfling luck gives a racial bonus not a luck bonus. You can purchase pieces of paper as the pamphlets.

Why are these two folks travelling all the way from Alkenstar to northwestern Cheliax to participate in a rebellion there? Who's the gunslinger player, and do you think he or she would be interested in coordinating a background?

You can look on the discussion thread of this campaign and the current players have been posting there.

Oo! I like the idea of a Munavri from the Sightless Sea who is in Kintago on a trip to learn about the culture of the surface world. If being a Munavri is too powerful I'll instead use the re-roll for extra traits.

Hmm. I did say any paizo published race. Well, yes you can, but keep in mind that such a creature would stand out like a sore thumb in a mostly-human city, and might be difficult to keep a low profile as a rebellion member.

Gobo Horde

Multiple questions.

Short Answers: Barzillai was appointed Lord Mayor whhen the previous Lord Mayor vanished. You can be a guard (or Dottari) at the beginning, but with the protest, there will quickly come a point where you can't keep on being a Dottari and be trusted by anyone in the Rebels. The ideas you have sound find. I can't find the name of the previous Dottari leader, so feel free to make it up, and if I find it somewhere, we can retcon.

Hmm, is Fey Magic/Fey Thoughts allowed? If so would an occult reflavoring be allowed?

Probably, but I can't find that feat/trait/whatever. What book is it from?

What would be the stats for an inquisitor?

If this still matters (I've seen your later submission), it would be Wisdom and Dexterity if you're going ranged, or Strength if you're going melee.

Let me know if I'm missing anyone who's submitted a completed character.

Here is the character I am submitting for consideration. If I am not mistaken every bit of information you need about him should be in the character sheet, I still haven't decided which free Teamwork Feat I should go with and will probably hold off on that until or if I am picked as that sort of decision would be better off made with group input. Oh and fair warning the backstory is a long read.

A little bit about the character: Reeves Crispio is a man who let a tragedy he underwent during his preteen years twist him into someone with great hate for those that commit evil acts. While others would walk nobler paths to further push themselves away from such individuals, Reeves has no trouble sinking to their level if the outcome involves their death or misery. He is a stubborn man, who has a history with a hopeless cause he would not walk away from and sees the situation in Kintargo as another cause that he may get involved them, but nonetheless he has no delusion that his inclusion into the equation will affect matters. Only that he wants to be a part of it and do his part no matter how small or large it might.

Reeves' build and battle strategy: Reeves main focus will be doing damage and being up close and personal with his foes. He will pick up feats like Cornugon Smash, Dazing Assault, Devastating Assault later on to add some control to that damage. He will also pick some of the Advanced Weapon Training options when they become available.

Reeves outside of battle: While he currently has only four skill ranks to utilize come level five he'll pick the Advanced Weapon Training feat and choose the Versatile Training option allowing him to pick to skills that will instead utilize his BAB instead of skill ranks, also allows free distribution of skill points affected. I think while most of his skills won't be anything spectacular, his intimidate will be quite effective both in and out of battle.

Paladin of Baha-Who?: I just now realized that there was another Hell's Rebels recruitment up! Sorry, I hope that it wasn't construed as stepping on your toes! I honestly did not check to even see, which is was a pretty bad faux pas on my part.

Silver Crusade

@GM Paladin: it's from Heroes of the Wild, it's an alternate racial trait that would give a human two skills from a selection as favored (stealth and perform for Saturday), cantrips they can only use in a certain environment, and low light vision.

It's up on d20 under Fey Magic

Actually, there are two.

And no worries. As soon as the current two close, you might see a wave of new applicants...
