I haven't been paying much attention to the blogs so I'm wondering what's to look forward to with Monster core releasing next month. I'm aware of some of the new dragons. Those seem great. I'm looking forward to seeing how demons and devils might change with the de-emphasis on law/chaos that the remaster has. What else are people looking forward to?

I wouldn't expect changes to devils and demons because of law and chaos. Law and chaos was always secondary to evil on those planes, especially compared to things like the Qlippoth. What we can safely expect are new demons and devils that aren't rooted in D&D. And I'm hoping the dinosaur demon becomes core, myself.

Vavakias are awesome yup.
I'm super excited because we get EVEN MORE fiends... and can still use the stats for the old ones!

The thing I'm most excited for; more Scamp art. Rage of Elements didn't have any (boo!) and we got a preview of a water scamp for Monster Core. I'm not too hurt that they are replacing Mephits, because I like Bats and Mephits were kinda ugly.
IIRC Shamblers are out (because Shambling Mounds are OGL), but the monster preview had the Sargassum Heap to replace it (and the already existing Ofalth filled a similar niche anyway). I have a weakness for sea monsters, and there's potentially really cool set-up of the party's boat drifting into a sargassum bed during a trip only to find algae monsters climbing on board.
I'm cautiously optimistic about Kobold changes. They are still draconic cousins, but they aren't just dragon servants from what was hinted. A tribe might now serve other powerful magical creatures they find. There's a funny idea somewhere with Kobolds serving a hag, unicorn, or dryad, but it could hurt their identity.

I'm working on a homebrew campaign set in the broken lands so new demons is good news.

Paizo did a live in january, where they dropped few new pictures for monsters from the monster core. And one thing that jumped to my eyes was ARCHONS! Like damn, Legion Archon's new look is spectacular.
Not forgetting new looks for Naga, Witch, Raksha. Gotta say, Paizo, I love what you're doing.

Yeah we're supposed to be getting makeovers for some monsters that hew more closely to their original inspirations, and I'm looking forward to that a lot.
I'm also looking forward to seeing whatever golems get reworked into.
I believe Paizo confirmed they won't be doing golems anymore. But they've already given us the easy way to remaster existing golems:
Remove golem antimagic. Add resistance to spells damage (except whatever magic harmed the golem before) equal to the golem's physical resistance.
Edit: Yep, it's confirmed by Logan around 1 hour 26 minutes here:

Oh, I know they're not doing golems anymore. I was more referring to whether their statblocks would be rewritten into a new family of constructs, all being called bastions or similar, or if they'd become a collection of unrelated constructs, or what. Either way I'm not sad to see the end of antimagic.

I'm very interested in seeing the updated rakshasa lore. I particularly enjoyed the old lore, but I know a lot of that was made up by D&D.
The new dragons are great, and conspirator dragon is my new fave. It'll be nice getting more in-depth and fleshed-out dragons as the standard going forward.
The new hags sound interesting. I like that they're getting back to fairy tale roots for them, and I hope we eventually get new changeling options as a result.
Kobolds as a more universal minion is a cool change that lets them show up more, and following a wider variety of monsters means more options.
Normally, I'm not too keen on bestiaries, since I'm mostly a player. But in this case, lots of lore updates, more mythology, etc... I'm curious.

I'd really like to see how unholy works with undead. I think I understand how it will work for fiends, but the trait makes more sense on them to me.
Similarly, I'll be curious what is immune to spirit damage besides constructs. Even some constructs shouldn't be immune, given awakened golem type shenanigans.

Well we did see that unholy mummy. No vulnerability to holy, but there's one particular spell (the new searing light) that blasts the bejeezus out of unholy creatures.
I'd guess that the vast majority if not all undead will have the unholy trait but no holy weakness. Especially because mummies aren't even that evil all things considered (compared to flesh eating ghouls, blood drinking vampires, or life draining wights and wraiths, anyway).

I'm curious to see if constructs will have immunity to spirit damage as an innate part of the Construct trait, or if it will be an immunity placed in the majority of their statblocks, similarly to what they're doing with bleed.
My guess is it will be the latter. My gut says that an extra eight characters--six for letters, and two for spaces--won't have too much of an impact on creature statblock size or copyfitting, but I'm not sure. Paizo does seem to be moving away from nested abilities wherever they can, though, so creating a new acception that requires specific language for some constructs, player-facing ones especially, explaining they are affected by spirit damage would seem to go against their ethos.

I'm hopeful to get a gargoyle monster description that doesn't use words like 'obsessive compulsive' to describe their trophy taking; they're a fun monster but it always feels gross to me to see that bit of ableism in their description.
Seconding wanting to see scamp art! They sound almost cute, I'd love to see some.
Also, I'm looking forward to see what the new names and flavor is for monsters that are iconic but too tied to the OGL. Things like the aforementioned sargassum heap, or the horned dragon.

Seeing the remaster beginner's box remove 5 monsters (drow, owlbear, mimic, web lurker, and doppelganger) and then fill the space with already known monsters is making me SO CURIOUS. Because Monster Core is going to have more entries than Bestiary 1. With 2 less dragon varieties and a lot of OGL monsters gone, *something* has to be filling all those entries.
Will we get new troop variations of common Bestiary 1 enemies like goblins and orcs?
Will we see adventure path specific monsters like tanglebones and redcap cavalry be added in?
Will new monsters be added to fill open niches left by leaving monsters? Crabs living in chest to be mimics, shape-shifting fey mud men to replace dopplegangers, some other large semi-magical predator to replace Owlbears?

Actually, some basic Troops would be kinda nice, I wonder if any made it in.

I do seem to be exceptionally lucky in that regard. There was at least one book I got after the street date, but generally I seem to be at the head of the line.

Oh sorry. I was trying to be silly; the swapping of the initials was intentional. I didn't mean to seem like I was calling you out.

Humanoid humor doesn't always sync with draconic humor.

Trust me, I was not offended. You also weren't wrong; I do get my books before anyone else quite often.

I am SO psyched for Monster Core's recycled art!
