I got the Starfinder Society Scenario subscription PDF download today but the other 6 physical items have not shipped. I'm pretty new to the whole subscription thing at Paizo, does having something on backorder in your side cart hold up the rest of the side cart?

I'm waiting to see what happens with the two items that *were* in my order but are now in my sidecart because I started two new subs. Not to mention the two things that I pre-ordered which aren't available yet, but are not in my sidecart where they should be, because the orders think they're "backordered". What I know for sure is that you can't trust your order history in between the time they put out the authorization email and the time they actually ship your order. Which I'm beginning to wonder if that might not be some time after GenCon.

It varies month by month, but usually finishes around street date or a few days before.
My knowledge is a little out of date, but they used to post in these monthly threads and confirm when they’d “finished” - at which point there were always a bunch of stuck, forgotten or otherwise quirky orders which need to get pushed along.
previously, it used to be counterproductive to ask them to check before the subscription run had completed - since it may well look fine from their end, even though a backordered glitch is about to cause a problem. So if you query it before the shipping window has closed they won’t know what to fix, and then you’ll have to wait and re-notify them again after the dust has settled.
The caveat to all of that is that I was only here when there was a CS subforum. I don’t know how the subscription processes have changed given the new world of an announcement forum, rather than a forum dedicated to customer service.

Looks like it’s a bit ad hoc. My advice would be wait until the weekend and if you haven’t seen it by then, email customer service.
(My subscription order hasn’t shipped yet either - probably because I switched things around. I plan on waiting until Monday and then I’ll be emailing again to get them to look into it).

It's good to have Steve back answering questions, just showing appreciation again here.
Shipping window definitely varies. I take whatever is posted on the announcement post as a guidance more than a set in stone timeline.
As for shipping being finished. They typically do stop in and let us know when it is complete. If they haven't spoken up they haven't finished, someone should update the main post from the 22nd though to appease some of the worries that people may have gotten missed.
At this point I would say shipping is still on going, and until someone stops in and says it is complete I wouldn't worry too much about not getting notice yet.

Hi, Aaron, thanks for the update! My concern is that this is the third time I have had to renew my order approval. It has already fallen off at my CC company.

If it helps? I had the same thing happen with an item when I started a new subscription. That book shipped by itself yesterday; I'm still waiting for the original order to ship out.

They should do it. At least, that's what they did the one time it happened to me.

Chiming in that this is about to happen to me too. It's been almost two weeks and my order hasn't budged but the authorization has come in and is now about expire tomorrow.

When I balance my checkbook (are those still a thing?) I just make sure the funds for my subscriptions are in my account by day one of the shipping window, and then consider the money spent at that time. So it doesn't matter if it takes a few weeks for the shipment to go out, I have already accounted for the expense.

TBH, this is why I put this sub on a low-limit credit card, along with other things like Kickstarter, where I'm never 100% sure when the charge will come. I hate things hitting my checking randomly.

Hopefully today is the day that the rest of my order is pulled. I've been avoiding reading any threads related to Dark Archive because my occult-envy (is that a thing?) is already in overdrive as it is.

Since you seem to be in the same boat as I am at the moment, would you mind checking to see if your pending order has a message that it's "Waiting for backordered product(s)" near the bottom? I just noticed mine does, and I'm curious if my order isn't being filled because of a glitch.

My original order was for Redshift Rally, Dark Archive standard, Star Knight Starships map, and AP #181. Redshift became a separate order when I added the new subscription and shipped already too.
Sadly, this wouldn't be the first time something got glitchy with an order this time of year. I don't mind that the occasional accident happens, just so long as everyone knows there's really a problem. Hate to think twenty days after my order was created I'm still waiting because a computer is saying I'm not supposed to be getting my subscription.

Now that you mentioned it, yeah, my order has that same note. I was going to wait until Monday to email CS, but I think I'll do it now. :-(

I’ve seen the “backorder even though it’s a current subscription item” glitch before. I think it stems from GenCon prep - setting aside stock for GenCon means they temporarily halt direct sales, even though they have stock.
That flows through to subscription displays, even though subs are actually filled prior to GenCon stock being dispatched.
