So, if I understand correctly, we finally have more information about the geography of Casmaron and Arcadia?

Each gets about a page and half, with discussions of how different places are being affected by the Godsrain (*not* the Goldstein, autocarrot >.<).

I know 4E’s epic destinies have kind of spoiled me, but I find the selection of mythic destinies is kind of…lacking. We have:

* Apocalypse Rider: Become one of the Four Riders!

* Archfiend: Become an uh archfiend!

* Ascended Celestial: Become an uh archcelestial?

* Beast Lord: Become super awesome with your class feature companion (doesn’t have to be an animal)!

* Broken Chain: Become freedom!

* Eternal Legend: Become a mythic warrior (there’s a sidebar explaining your legend don’t have to be for fighting and there are feats you can select to make this kinda work but look we totally wrote this for you wuxia/chambara nerds)!

* Godling: Become a god (you and everyone else on Golarion)!

* Prophecied Monarch: Become King Arthur (or anyone that’s like a boss of somewhere/thing with bad ass pals or whatever)!

* Wild spell: Become PURE ENERGY (but not quite)!

That’s two out of nine for becoming an unholy being of godlike power, a bunch of rather specific ones, then one catchall “You’re the god of the cool thing you wanna make your character about.”

How's the Mythic bestiary look? I'm dying to hear the monsters and their levels!

Mythic is a template that can be applied to monsters of any level, with effects that vary/scale based on level, plus extras from an optional mythic role sub-template. They provide four examples of levels 4-12.

There are seven named mythic monsters meant to have an entire campaign wrapped around them, each gets six pages of background, advice on how to use them across all 20 levels, etc. they range from level 6 to 25.

How much juicy detail is there regarding the details of Gorum's death and its impact on the setting, as well as other events in Avistan and on other continents?

There is a 15 page or so Mythic Gazateer chapter, and it touches on Arcadia, Casmaron, Garund, and Tian Xia.

May we get an update on the ETA to finish shipping subscription orders for those of us still pending, please and thank you!

Now to get that August 2022 post up... :D

I feel like that kind of highlights the problem though. Paizo is simultaneously taking the position that early access PDFs is not part of the product, both to ward off issues like this and possibly to appease brick and mortars, while still tacitly dangling the potential for early access in front of potential customers.

People failing to manage their own expectations that are out of alignment for what they were told they are signing up for is not an indication of deception on Paizo's part.

UPS Mail Innovations is the absolute worst. Shipped six days and tracking still has nothing. Can we opt to never have it used even if it costs more to do so?

Paizo, walk your walk and recognize the union.

Company harassment? Really? REALLY??

Won't someone think of the poor corporation.

Great gnoll laughing shadow magus with the Crunch ancestry feat - skipping the DEX/unarmored just costs a second 5' of bonus movement, but it comes out wearing a breastplate and not being slowed by it (and thus move 30' in Arcane Cascade), relies on the d8 bite for the main attack so it can have a utility weapon in one hand (whip, thrown, etc) and have the other hand completely free as needed for the bonus damage effect.

All classes have 1st level feats even for those like spellcasters who don't get them at 1st level. This is because of the 1st level human ancestry feat: natural ambition which lets them pick a 1st level class feat to learn

Ah, that's what I was missing - thank you!

Why does the Magus have 1st level class feats available when it doesn't appear to get a class feat at 1st level? Am I overlooking something?

I understand the thrill of getting one's hands on new content as soon as one can - but perspective: it's just a matter of a handful of days (in all but the most unusual cases) versus the rest of the time one will be playing this edition.

12 pounds of Pathfinder...

Very interesting. It would be MORE interesting if Paizo offered, to those of us who already have some of those PDFs, to replace already purchased titles by equivalent products. That way, I'm pretty sure more people would contribute...

Just a thought.

That would *vastly* complicate the process. As it is, if even some of the bundle is a savings for you, then why worry that much if it's a better deal for someone else or not? Of the stuff that isn't adventures/mats/fictions that I don't have is the GM Screen - but $25 to get the entirety of the Extinction Curse path in PDF is more than worth it for me. If other people get more value from it cause it includes rulebooks or LO books they don't have then hey, more power to them.

Question on the physical Bestiary: once we redeem the code, Paizo will just automatically generate an order once they start processing fulfillment on that, correct?

Heyhey the AP from before my sub started BANG! And I just started running a game for friends, including two people who had never TTRPG'ed before so sending this to them!!

Mine is the same. UPS has been pretty suspect since Covid. I figure I would give it the normal time it takes to get to me and if I don't get it in two weeks I'll reach out to CS.

Yeah, I'm not fussed about it, just dropping the info so people can see others are having the same kinds of issues :)

AH just missed my subscription for this month. Ah well, just makes March that much more awesome :)

Another here still showing as pending FWIW.

They definitely are not, my post from Nov 3rd regarding a mispacked item in my order still hasn't been addressed.

Joana wrote:
They actually work through each set of delivery methods in order, first come first served.

Except they currently aren’t doing that, as they are responding to posts from late November currently while older ones sit unanswered.

CrystalSeas wrote:

Right now they are working on posts from Nov 23. They'll get to you when it's your turn.

Ah so it's last come, first served.

I would suggest contacting your bank and disputing the charge.

Hello!

I just received this order, but it contained the Star Finder Adventure Path #34: We're No Heroes instead of Pathfinder Adventure path #153: Life's Long Shadows.

If you could send me the copy of the latter and a return label for the former, it would be greatly appreciated!!

And since 2E there has been a pandemic and the State having issued limits on business as a result and ethical employers emphasizing workplace safety and health, so “hiring more people for 2E launch” is immaterial as their shipping capacity now is lower due to new circumstances. Plus none of that has zip to do with having CS answering phones.

The second point is assuming that there’s enough orders with issues that need to be addressed by CS that that is a significant cause of the delay. And not, ya know, pandemic. Plus the highest volume of materials they send out for a given month. Even if CS was on stuff instantly, how much time do you really think that would have saved? Enough that you wouldn’t be here complaining about it?

How? What issues of reduced manpower and productivity in the warehouse are streamlined by having people answering phones to field CS requests?

The issue is fewer people in the warehouse having to spend additional time on things other than just pulling and packing orders.

How does Paizo taking CS phone calls address that?

It helps, though, if the critique is grounded in any kind of understanding of how businesses work and current realities.

What division still needs to be done? CS and the warehouse are already separate teams.

And warehouse operations are bottlenecked by the need to maintain proper distancing and sanitation for the safety of the workers, which reduces the number of people that can be working and places more demands on the time of the ones that can. That need is both a legal one, as the State of Washington (where Paizo is, ya know, located) under a State of Emergency, and an ethical one (cause who wants people to get sick or die just to ship things a bit faster).

I gave you a link. But since you can be bothered: RCW 43.06.220

And how does people answer phone calls get things shipped faster?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So you *know* there are things Paizo could be doing to expedite shipping and are just choosing not to...cause reasons...but you don't know the local laws, ordinances, governor's proclamations etc that may be at play?

What *are* those things Paizo could be doing? While complying with https://coronavirus.wa.gov/what-you-need-know/safe-start

ETA: Yes, other business are adapting, but it's hardly nothing like "business as usual" for most out there. Especially when an inconvenient pandemic happening at the same time as a higher-than-normal volume orders. Longer processing and shipping times are the norm, not unusual now.

Illegal and/or unethical options aren't viable options.

So again: how many people should get COVID-19 just so you get your books when you want them?

My corebook for this just shipped!

Imagine how much worse things would be if we were in the middle of an unprecedented pandemic!

I got my shipping notification including a tracking link, but the ups-mi.net link fails to load, anyone else have similar issues?

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti wrote:
I would hope that they woukd get these out first.

Ah, I hadn't seen that info.

The Humble Bundle has quite likely seen a bunch of Core Rulebook orders pouring in as well - there's currently over 22,000 bundles purchased at an average of $24.17. Unless people are *massively* overspending on the lower tiers for charity, that's easily several thousand Core Rulebooks ordered and waiting to ship.

A bit of quick napkin (Excel) math shows about 9,500 bundles at the $30 level leaves an average pledge of $20 for the remaining - and if significant numbers of people pledged at less than $20, that just drives up the $30+ pledges. Now the top 9 contributors are averaging $132 between them, so there is clearly people over-pledging for the value and charity, but even being *super generous* and saying that's a significant impact - that could easily mean 8,000+ potential orders.

The only things I really needed were the LO Character and World Guides - but at these prices getting them and a second copy of the Core book was a no-brainer! The additional content is just gravy.
