Doing so would delay spoiler leaks getting out from those who get the physical copies early. I wouldn’t blame them, though. It will help to keep the hype and marketing spotlight on Pathfinder Core 2 and Prey for Death as much as possible before the Playtest hits. If that was a concern, they wouldn't have sent out copies to various influencer types. There's been spoilers for over a week now. ![]()

![]() In the sub thread, the shipping is only delayed a day or two due to updates to how the subscription works, so the current dates for subs are: •Authorization (Order Spawning) Date: 7/12/2024
So looks like the street date is still the same! https://paizo.com/threads/rzs4mcmx?New-Physical-Product-Releases-For-July-2 024 ![]()

![]() I'm bringing this thread back from the dead to see if there's any update on this. I'm mostly concerned because next month will be a very expensive month for many subscribers, and I'd really hate not to know where over a hundred dollars worth of books are. ![]()

I'm not going back to roll20. Competition is always a good thing. You WANT more than one VTT out there, pushing each other forward. Having just one leads to one providing the bare minimum in improvements and customer service. ![]()

![]() I'll be real: This is why I don't use Foundry. I'm part of a Patreon where one of their tiers is to offer pretty basic scenes for Foundry. We're talking maps with some lighting and maybe some walls. Most don't even have things like windows or doors. Foundry has had releases that have completely wrecked their scenes, to the point where they gave up maintaining their backlog. Now, you get the current month, and the rest may or may not work going forward. I get that software development is hard. I'm a dev with two decades under my wings, so I get it. But if you want to make a product where your big draw is "Hey, you can make stuff for us!" you HAVE to be extremely careful with updates to your API. You only remove features when deemed absolutely necessary. When you add features, you don't make them required. And when you know you have to make a huge update, you blast that out to everyone a good six months in advance of the release. Hell, add in a guide to how to update, or offer a script to do it, because let's be real: Many of your partners don't have a tech team on staff who could figure it out on their own. ![]()

Sooooo, I did this for my Frozen Flame group! The experiment isn't quite done yet, but so far, it's worked fairly well! For the long version, I blogged about it here: https://katieplaysgames.wordpress.com/2023/01/09/quest-for-the-frozen-flame -book-1/ The Method: For each book, the players are the max level for that book. So kicking off book 1, they're level 4, starting book 2 they're level 7, and they'll be level 11 at the start of book 3. The reason I did this was because this is a monthly game with a short session time, so I wanted to play through the content a bit more quickly. The result has been that the players plow through early content fast, but by the end of the book, they're going at the right speed. I haven't had to cut anything for time, and for a few scenarios, they came up with novel solutions that could only happen because they were higher level. However, the level cap DOES keep them from skipping to the next book. I don't think this would work for every AP. For example, AV works best with regular levels, and AoE would be a mess if players could figure out things sooner than they should. But I could see it working for any AP where the PCs are separated from the end goal in some way until it's time for them to encounter it. ![]()

![]() FYI to everyone dealing with UPS-MI headaches: If you sign up for USPS Informed Delivery, you'll at least get a tracking number once it gets handed over. It's not a complete solution, but at least it's something for those of us with spotty USPS service. ![]()

![]() For a while now, the UPS-MI tracking links haven't been working at all. Recently, someone at Paizo said they were working on this, and I was wondering if this is still the case. The reason this is so important for me: If I try to get information about a package that's super late, the second UPS sees a blank tracking, they blame the shipper. I can't get my local USPS to so much as fart at me until I can prove it was put into their hot little hands. ![]()

![]() I HAVE THE PHYSICAL BOOKS IN MY HOT LITTLE HANDS NOW! Perfect condition, and the tracking did work this month! Also, dumb question but... are the packing peanuts made of corn or plastic? My dogs keep trying to hunt down the ones that get away, and they love them some corn. ![]()

![]() I'm in the boat of "I have my PDFs, but have no idea where my packages are." UPS-MI has gone back to not updating after several months of being fine. I know this seems minor and that the advice is just to sit tight, but I can't emphasize enough how bad mail delivery is in my area, and how they won't so much as fart until you have tracking that shows movement. They just direct me back to contacting the sender. ![]()

![]() Thanks for the update! Is there any way you can talk to UPS Mail Innovations about actually scanning packages? Mine was "Shipped" on Nov 1, but UPS MI is still showing as not received, and I haven't seen the box yet. My local USPS won't move an inch until tracking shows something is going on, because they assume you still have it. ![]()

You get the PDF when your package ships... which COULD mean you get the PDF early. It could be closer to the street date. Once (and only once), I didn't get my PDF until after the street date because they were behind on shipping (this was a one-off). So the real benefit is having the PDF as well, but I wouldn't count on getting it *early*. ![]()

![]() As I'm in the middle of prepping book two, I'm considering moving some of the encounters to different planes. Book one is great, since you hop to two completely new locations (not counting a certain encounter). Book two just has you chilling on the Material plane though, which is a bit disappointing, especially since I like the plot. I think Skywatch could work well as a reflection of Skywatch in the Shadow Plane, with the denizens being people stuck there due to some Missing Moment Nonsense. The "escape" isn't just getting out of the city: It's figuring out how to get back to the Material Plane. Thoughts? I have some time before my crew makes it there. ![]()

![]() Has anyone received the physical part of this order yet? Mine was "Shipped," but UPS still shows it as not handed off. And yes, I know of the hot mess that is UPS-MI. I live that life every month, being a subscriber. This is part of why we keep each other updated in the announcement threads.
