Hi, everyone!

I’m excited to announce the next Play by Post convention, NostalgiaCon. We will be trying to get a lot of the feel of the old Gamedays with this convention. Only Pathfinder 1 and the ACG will be included, not Pathfinder 2 or Starfinder. We will be allowing player signup during the same time as GM signup, as we used to, and there will not be limits on the number of games.

Signups open now, for GMs and players. In order for your game to count, it must start on or after January 10th, and end on or before March 6th. Finishing on time is particularly important this convention, because the next convention is planned to start soon afterwards.

If you need scenario support, you must register your game by December 12th.

We will not be running a Pathfinder 1 multi-table special; instead we are encouraging GMs who are qualified to run tables of the exclusive scenarios. We have permission to include Bonekeep in this convention, which is normally not permitted for PbP. IBefore you sign up to run an exclusive, please make sure you are qualified to do so.

Also, GM Dennis will be acting as House GM for a Pathfinder 2 multi-table special. He will post instructions later for GMs and players interested in participating in that special. GMs can either GM one table of the multi-table special or one exclusive scenario, but not both.

A later post will include instructions for the Adventure Card Game.

Games do not need to be first come first served; lottery or GM choice is encouraged, but please be clear in your recruitment thread what method you are using.

GM signup instructions (Paizo)
First, you need to create your recruitment thread on Paizo.com. Then, go to PbPGameday.com. The front page contains a list of tables that are currently signed up in addition to a link at the bottom to register a table as a GM.You must include your recruitment link in your submission, and the link must go to a recruitment thread, rather than discussion or gameplay, or else the table will be removed.

GM signup instructions (Discord)
Go to PbPGameday.com. The front page contains a list of tables that are currently signed up in addition to a link at the bottom to register a table as a GM. In the space for a recruitment link, simply state which Discord lodge (Roll for Combat or Org Play Online). Then you need to contact the organizer of that Discord lodge to ask them to make you a recruitment thread. For RfC, contact bigrin42#2231 and for Org Play Online, contact me, Redelia#3748.

Player instructions
You can find the list of current registered games on PbPGameday.com. Games that are recruiting may also be advertised in Flaxseed Lodge or on the Discord lodges listed. Check back often as new GMs sign in!

Can I participate if I am new to Play-by-Post?
Certainly! Just let your GMs and Players know. They’ll be glad to help.

How many games can I sign up to GM?
While we set no hard limit on this, we want you to be able to pay attention to all your games and show your players a good time. If this will be your first time GMing PbP, we strongly recommend that you only do one game at a time. It’s more work than it looks.

Table [put number in here] is currently full, but it’s marked open. How do I fix that?
Post in this thread and let us know. We will get those tables updated if you tell us!

Is there a limit on how many specials / exclusives I can GM at any given time?
Yes. At any given time, each GM can only GM either: [list]

One table of a multi-table special - or -

One table of a star-gated exclusive game like Serpent’s Rise, Serpent’s Ire, True Dragons of Absalom, Bonekeep, or Maelstrom’s Rift.

How many games can I sign up to play?
There is no specific limit, but we do ask you to remember that others also would like to sign up for games. Also, please make sure you don’t sign up for more games than you can handle. If you’re new to play by post, please only sign up for one or two games.

The first paragraph says:

I believe that is the case. We're running the PF2 special now because it needs to be run prior to the Starfinder special, as there are carryover effects.

I have a couple of queries.

I've never played the Bonekeep modules and would like to do so - but my preference would be to take the same character through all three. This isn't feasible within one PbP convention - will we retain access to the Bonekeep modules post-con? Or would we need to do 1 per convention?

Second query: I see that all the old retired scenarios are on the drop down list for registering games. They're not available to run - are they?

We do not know if Bonekeep will be allowed in PbP at all after this convention; we hope it will, if it goes well.

But the way that the timed element coverts to PBP might make that a non-option.

Any scenario should be expected to take about the full length of the convention, since it is less than 2 months long. Thus, no, a GM can only run one exclusive or special for the entire convention.

Is it still possible to earn the fifth Star for PFS1? I recently got my fourth and would like to try for 5. Presumably that means running a special or two.

Two GMs got their 5th star this month. Go for it. How many specials do you have, Phaeton? You will need at least 10 over the course of your career.

Is there a way to see what your special count for PFS1 is using online reporting? I suspect I have the ten required and then some now, from all the gameday specials I've GMed, but I'm not sure how to check.

Actually I'm still about 35 tables away from having enough table time anyway.

@RDA Lets just be thankful that we get to do even one level of Bonekeep in PBP. If it works out, maybe the OP leadership will be open to other runs in the future.

The best way I know of is to go into the sessions tab of My Organized Play and limit it.

Applies to: GM
Organized Play: PFS(1ed), PFS1 and maybe PFC (if you did any specials in Core Campaign).

Then go through the ~150 reported tables looking for specials.

I don’t know what the difference is between PFS(1ed) and PFS1. Most of my tables are under PFS(1ed) but I do have 6 tables under PFS1. Two of them are specials.

Another route is to ask the Organized Play Manager at [e-mail]. I did that when I needed to double-check my count with Alex prior to my 150th table for SFS.

With the higher possibility of character death in Bonekeep, it would be even more of a potential disaster than usual to have a character in more than one game at a time.

I understand that people would like to play their character in more than one, but this is a special approval to see if Bonekeep can even be made to work in PbP. If it works out and is approved in general, I'm sure we will have GMs willing to run more later.

- Because this is a test of whether Bonekeep works in PbP, you must either be a 4 star GM or a VO to run it.

- Other online lodges are welcome to participate. For Mythweavers, follow the above instructions for Paizo, but make your recruitment thread on Mythweavers. For other Discord lodges, first make sure your VO or other organizer is willing to make you a recruitment channel, and then follow the instructions above for Discord.

Assuming the last one counts, still got 7 to go. I guess I should pick one that can be done by a 4+ star gm under pbp.

I decided to run both a low and a high sub-tier table of 7-13 - Captive in Crystal. The low sub-tier is now full but there are still a couple of spaces available for the high sub-tier (7-9).

Speaking of that, should I create a new listing for the high sub-tier of the scenario in the session list or can I just report them both separately when they are done?
