... and I'm discussing.
:)
Is there anything we should know story-wise before we begin brainstorming characters?
We haven't yet decided on whether they already know each other or not. I'm leaning towards not so their relationship feels more organic.
I had already mentioned to Niko how much I disliked random character backgrounds/appearances. So I'm glad that portion of character creation is optional.
I'll most likely create a human, but I like the fact that they give a huge amount of leeway on their skin color, hair color, eye color, etc. :) :)

Putting stuff out here as it develops...
Elizabeth Rose Adamell - human
Her beginning path will be Magician.
She's going to begin the game as an attractive but cold woman hiding within her magic, using it as a shield to keep everyone else at a distance.
A gregarious warrior or rogue would be the typical counter to her emotional distance. But anyone that wouldn't just walk away from her would work.
Initial plans would move her to Sorcerer as her Expert path. This would also be symbolic of her emotions looking for a release. Not sure yet what would be good for a Master path down the road. Might just have to see where it goes.
They could be brought together via a patron that expects them to work together. That would hold them together until some actual bonding takes place. Possibly a Tracy/Hepburn thing going on.
Will we be starting out at 1st level (with an initial chosen path) or will we begin at 0?

Let's go with this one (trying to establish a different dynamic to our normal ones and this is the only guy I have that isn't either in a game, locked in PF mode or an outright clergyman...)
Brainiac: where is this game happening? Are we on Urth or somewhere else?
Skimming the lists to see what jumps out at me - Dervish looks like a very cool master skill, so working backwards I'd say Dervish <- Ranger <- Warrior seems like a sensible path? That seem logical so far?
----------------------------
In an attempt to not stick too closely to the standard tropes: Saleh will be a warrior, but not particularly the chatty type. More the 'quietly competent' kind who makes no secret of the fact that he doesn't think Elizabeth can do the job/that he needs the help/that the patron really has a clue etc. I can imagine their relationship starting off at 'barely cordial' and going from there... :D
