Greetings Pathfinders, Starfinders, & ACG Enthusiasts!
We’re all very excited to announce the upcoming PbP Gameday VIII! The sky’s the limit this year as we’ve not only seen the beginning of Starfinder Society Year 2: Year of a Thousand Bites but the official launch of Pathfinder 2nd Edition and with it, a 2nd Edition Pathfinder Society! With all of the hubbub, we hope to have a wide variety of games on offer this year from Starfinder to PFS2 to ACG goodness and of course, plenty of PFS1.

Important dates:
★ ---- ★ ---- ★ ---- ★
As of today, GM signups are officially open! In order for your game to count, it must start on or after August 26th and end on or before November 3rd.
If you need scenario support, you must register your game by July 1st, 2019.
During this convention, we’ll also be offering the Pathfinder Special #10-00 The Hao Jin Cataclysm run by Overseer Dennis and the Starfinder Special #2-00 Fate of the Scoured God run by Overseer Tyranius.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (for GMs)
How do I sign up to GM?
Go to our GM Registration form. Pick out what scenarios you would like to GM. Decide how you want to do your recruitment.
If you choose “First Come, First Serve”, it will appear on the second page of our Signup Sheet, and players can sign up there directly. This is likely the easiest way for players new to Play-by-Post to find your game.
What if I don’t want to do First Come, First Serve?
If you want to do a lottery, a private game, or something else, that’s fine. Don’t select “First come, first serve” for that table. We will give you the option of including a link to your game on the third page of our Signup Sheet. We ask that when your game fills, you mark that it has no open seats -- we are making sure that you have the option of being able to easily close your own tables this year.
How do I include a link to my Campaign on the Signup Sheet?
Once your game has been added to the Signup Sheet, you will be able to add that campaign link easily. It’s best to create the campaign thread early so that your players can find your game easily.
How many games can I sign up to GM?
Because we want you to be able to pay attention to all your games and show your players a good time, GMs are only allowed three RPG games, including the special, during this convention. This limit of three also includes Starfinder games and spans both the Standard and Core campaigns. This limit does not include ACG games, if you are one of the GMs running those.
If this will be your first ever time GMing PbP, we strongly recommend that you only do one game at a time. It’s more work than it looks.
What if I want to sign up to GM a Multi-Table Special?
Alas, GM sign-up for our two specials has already closed. In addition, we require that all those who GM a special to have some prior experience with GMing Play-by-Post! GMing PBP is fun, but specials are too time-pressured an environment to learn the techniques of a new format! Instead, GM something else with us, and then apply for the next set of specials we offer.
Is there a limit on how many specials / exclusives I can GM at any given time?
Yes. At any given time, each GM can only GM either: [list]
I want to run a long module. Can I still do that with there being only one session?
Absolutely! As long as you feel reasonably certain that you’ll be able to finish in the allotted time, or close to it, feel free to GM whatever you like. (Please do not do this unless you are a relatively fast GM.)
What do you mean by scenario support?
Paizo will gift you the scenario that you wish to run — if you sign up by our deadline. You can apply for regular scenarios, ACG scenarios or even a module. Not included: APs, Emerald Spire or Thornkeep.
If you need scenario support, you must register your game by July 1st, 2019.
What if I want to add a game as a GM after the July 1st Scenario Support Deadline?
That’s fine. You can GM, you just need to provide your own copy of the adventure.
How long does Scenario Support take to arrive?
Usually it arrives a week (or if we are lucky, two) before the convention.
May I add a game after August 26th, the official start of PBP Gameday VIII?
Yes, but please only add games that you think you can finish before November 3rd, 2019.
What if I want to be an ACG box runner?
Stay tuned here for further announcements on ACG signups, or check into Flaxseed on Deck (ACG) for questions!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (for Players)
How do I play?
You can find the list of current registered games on Signup Sheet. As we get closer to the gameday, there will also be links to the individual games so that you can find yours!
(Games that are recruiting in a manner other than First Come, First Serve may also be advertised in their home Play-by-Post lodges.)
What are the different PBP Lodges?
On Paizo Forums:
We have four other official PbP Lodges available (for RPG games only):
Will there be Pathfinder 2 games to play?
We certainly hope so! If GMs sign up to run such games, there will be some.
Why only one session this year?
This allows for a shorter convention and for our GMs and players to have some extra breathing room between PbP Gameday and OutPost early next year.
Will there be boons for Players and GMs?
Absolutely. This is a convention for which you don’t have to leave home.
Can I participate if I am new to Play-by-Post?
Certainly! Just let your GMs and Players know. They’ll be glad to help.
Table [put number in here] is currently full, but it’s marked open. How do I fix that?
You can either ask the GM to mark it closed, or you can mark it closed for them! One reason we switched to a spreadsheet listing was to make it easier for players to find open tables, and to change listings of games to closed when they fill.
How many games can I sign up to play?
Right now, you may only sign up to play up to 3 RPG games and 1 ACG game. Why this limit? In order to give newcomers and people in other time zones a couple weeks to sign up for games. We’ll lift this hard cap on Monday, July 22nd, 2019. We recommend that you don’t overcommit if you have not played PbP before. Sign up for one or two games, and enjoy them.
Can I sign up to play in both specials?
You may only sign up for one special. We will lift this restriction on Monday, July 22nd, 2019.
When will you open the seats for signup?
We will open up early signup for GMs on July 8th, 2019. This is a courtesy for our GMs. GMs, please limit yourself to 1 table of your choice until July 12th.
General player signup will open July 12th, 2019. Please sign up for no more than 3 games until we lift the cap on July 22nd, 2019. After July 22nd, please only sign up for the number of games you can handle. It’s better to enjoy one or two games than to get overwhelmed.
Wah! Why do you have so few tables of the Special? I won’t get a seat!
Don’t panic! We will be starting with only so many tables each of Hao Jin Cataclysm and Fate of the Scoured God. We’re doing this so that we can better respond to demand, and so that we don’t overschedule tables.
When will ACG games be listed for signup?
They are coming. Please stay tuned on this thread for more announcements. When recruiting opens up, it will also be announced at Flaxseed on Deck (ACG).
What do I need to play a game of the Adventure Card Game?
You will need to own a Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Character Deck. You can send Cartmanbeck either an image of your receipt for the deck, or a picture of you with the deck, for verification, at cartmanbeck@orgplayonline.com. Once verified, you will be able to use one of the characters from that deck to play.
How many card games can I sign up to play?
To make sure as many people as possible are able to participate, only one card game per player. You may do this in addition to your three RPG games for any signups before July 22nd, 2019.

Thanks a lot! Looking forward to GM and play!
‘Heroes for Highdelve’ is missing in the list of modules. I would like to GM this module.
Do you own the module, Nowruz? We cannot get it for Scenario Support because it is not available in PDF. But we could take an email request to add in your table manually.
Hmm

Some confusion - after selecting the first scenario from the drop-down list of scenarios by season, the form then would not let me progress without selecting a module as well. So please ignore my "request" to run Crypt of the Everflame, and has anyone else run into this?
I have not run into this, but I have pointed Mike Hallet (he who is the spreadsheet guru) as it so that we can figure out what caused that for you!
Hmm

I had no such difficulty, however, I was signing up for PFS(2) and I am unsure if that would make a difference. We will look into it ASAP.

There was a broken link at the end of the season 10 selection page. It has been fixed.

Go ahead and email us, and give us the name of the module, your main Paizo Alias, email contact information, etc.

Does GMing for this con grant a race boon for the online region? Is there a table requirement for that?
During previous Gamedays GMs have indeed received a race boon for the campaign they GMed (Starfinder or Pathfinder). In the event that a GM ran games for both campaigns, they picked between the two race boons on offer. This system should remain the same for PFS1E. Starfinder and PFS2E are a bit of a different story as PFS2E will be using an Achievement Point system in regards to earning boons and we currently do not know if Starfinder will follow suit in this or keep the same system as PFS1E.
In terms of table requirements though - nope!
Hi lovely VO team
My module, Feast of Ravenmoor, is wrongly listed as a tier 1-2 game; it is a level 3 module.
Very much looking forward to running it, I had a great time playing Feast of Ravenmoor :)
Adjusted! Technically Feast of Ravenmoor (which is a great module btw, highly recommend) is sanctioned for Tier 2-4 play so that's what I changed the listing to :)
DoubleGold |
Added Mask of the Living God to my Dming list. Many people have played, Crypt, but not the sequel. Looks like a tough dungeon going through the book, so I opted to choose by party composition. But DoubleGold, you said you didn't have the module, how would you know? I need the digital version for ease of maps.
Edit: Please note, I'm still keeping 1-6 Starfinder in case the editor of that sheet would ask. I don't think I would have resubmit the one I already submitted as the correct way of adding a game.

Bristor wrote:Is there a delay between submitting on the form and appearing on the spreadsheet? I submitted on the form yesterday but it hasn't appeared.I suspect there's a manual component behind the screen.
There is definitely a manual component.
I have just updated both signup sheets so if you do not see your submitted game listed please let us know.
Please include: Campaign, scenario number, scenario name, GM name, location to make it somewhat easier to find in the unsorted sheet of signups. Thank you.

Not a newbie question at all! That said, I just realized that our language on this point could have been made clearer:
The early GM signups are open to GMs who have either been selected to GM a table for one of the multi-table specials *or* GMs who have submitted to GM a game for Gameday VIII. This is our (Online VOs) way of saying 'thank you' to all of the people who make our conventions happen by volunteering their time and effort to GM. Signups are currently not open to general players nor are they open to GMs that aren't set to run a table; those signups will open July 12th.
Hopefully the above makes sense and apologies for the confusion! We'll make sure to make the language clearer on this going forward.
*edit* The above clarification still stands but I do see that I missed your name in the list, GM Choptop! Let me see what I can do :)

Happy to help!
After checking with our fantastic spreadsheet gurus, they confirm that you should be able to edit the sheet. We do have some of the fields locked but the section for player signups shouldn't be. Once you find the game you want to sign up for (GM Chadius' Hao Jin table), scroll to the right to find the section where you input your information (Player Name, Character Name, etc.) and click on each blank box in that row to type in the relevant information. Since more folks have signed up for their spots you should be able to look at those to see how yours should look.
And while in theory this shouldn't matter, were you trying to sign up from a mobile device earlier? I had trouble myself trying to sign up using my phone yesterday evening and had to wait until I got home to my laptop.

Your theory did matter and helped me find the problem! My phone was defaulting to my Google Drive app which didn't offer editing capabilities. Once I opened it with Google Sheets I signed up no problem.
