You heard it here, it's John Compton's birthday today.
So, I wanted to give my thanks for all the great opportunities John has sent my way. Also, I want to thank him for being an amazing developer to work with when it comes to PFS projects. Every year, I end up going to PaizoCon with the mindset of "THAT'S IT! I'M DONE WITH PFS WRITING!". Somehow, sitting down with John always puts me back in the PFS mindset... along with agreeing to write one or more scenarios for the new season... jedi mind tricks and such.
I'm sure lots of people have well wishes for our Senior PFS Developer, as well as stories to tell... so get to it!
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN! :>

So this is a story all about how my freelancin' got flip-turned-upside down
And I'd like to take to take a minute, just listen on, and I'll tell ya how I became a writer for birthday boy John Compton!
Back in RPG Superstar 2014, I was fresh-faced on the tabletop scene. Chillin' out stattin' and relaxin' designing encounters for most of the day. When me'n a couple of writers who were pretty sound made it all the way to the final round!
I got pretty darn close and almost won, and then this crazy guy says "Hey you wanna write for me, John Compton!"
I waited for an outline and when it came near the title said something about Sharrowsmith and my chance was here! If anything I could say that the outline was fun but naw forget it I got suggestions for Compton!
John liked that smug Aspis NPC and you all probably just wanna wind up and punch me! But that's the whole story, short a few parts, about how John Compton let me have my start!
And I promise never to Bel Air again. Happy Birthday John!

Happy Birthday, John!
My favorite memory of John is that every time I play my bloodrager at a convention, he always stops to admire my bloodrager's miniature. Maybe he appreciates my meager sculpting ability, maybe he wants to enjoy the absurdity that can only happen when one plays a kitsune bloodrager, maybe he's busy sitting back, contemplating all the wonder ways that he'd murder the character if only I'd sit down for a session of Waking Rune with John as GM.
Whatever the case may be, I've always enjoyed the attention that John puts into PFS. Not only the scenarios and the boons and the logistics and the like, but the time he takes giving attention to the weird, diverse, and often insane family that is our PFS Community.
So hats off to John Compton! If Tonya is PFS's heart, then John is its warped, twisted, and downright essential brain. Enjoy your day, sir!

Happy Birthday John!
You are a scholar and a gentleman, and a genuine pleasure to work with. Hopefully I can attend PaizoCon this year and we can have a proper conversation.
I remember John as a potential rival but he has demonstrated to *me* time and time again that he is the best at what he does—the cheerful, thoughtful, imaginative developer for a program that brings joy to countless people all over the world.
A toast to John Compton.

Thank you for allowing me to contribute to Golarion as a freelance author. The experience has been life-changing (and you can send me any work that Thirsty says "no" to).
We all raise our glasses to you! Have a wonderful birthday celebration!!

Yeah, sometimes I'll see a statblock and go "John had fun with that one."
