Sadly, Jeff is right. But there is a Trait called "Rough and Ready" that removes the penalty from an improvised weapon and grants a +1 to attack (same effect as Weapon Focus, except that you don't have Weapon Focus as a prerequisit). Though it needs to be a tool that your character uses for crafting/profession (so no pillow, unless you can justify being a professional sleeper).

I am trying to figure out how to make a pillow a sacred weapon. So I need weapon focus as a prerequisite.

I wonder what the funniest item and profession combo anybody could justify would be.
Craft Food. I will kill you with a burrito!

Weapon Focus requires proficiency with the weapon to be chosen. As far as I'm aware there's no way to actually get proficiency with an improvised weapon (which isn't the same as removing the penalty).
Technically the proficiency feats don't do anything other than remove the penalty. They never state you are proficient.

Oddly enough this is true...

The end result here is no, you can't legally do it.
But if all your trying to do is to use a pillow in place of another weapon with the knowledge that it will have really crappy stats...well I can't imagine a GM in a home game would really be set on stopping you.
I found a way to buff it, but I would like to be able to buff it as a warpriest because that will maximize the average damage.

Yeah, see as a GM I would ask you to explain your full plan before I would allow it then. So I could determine
1) Is this something you could do with any other weapon you would normally be proficient in?
2) Does this really on a strange interaction between rules with some "loose" interpretation of the rules to provide a big benefit.
So, what exactly are you planning?

It's more for flavor. Long story short because of a myth and a joke I am making a character who steals peoples pillows and carries them around in a sack. He has an animated pillow that he lays on as it fly's around. Anyway the only advantage I can really think of for him is that enemies might be a bit unsuspecting.

Even if they are proficient, I'd never allow Weapon Focus as I don't support the concept that an improvised weapon is a weapon for things that don't specify they improve improvised weapons.

Yeah I have to agree here. If short spear and spear and long spear all require 3 feats of weapon focus, pillow, frying pan and flat iron should as well.
The feat has a requirement that isn't being met. Therefore you can't take it.
