It's going to happen.
Where would you like to be when you die?

There is no answer I could give to this question that would not summon Dame Lambertz post-haste to remove the post and lock the thread.

I want to be in a fast moving spaceship with the velocity to exit the solar system.
Then, when advanced aliens find my frozen corpse they can fiddle with my DNA,
and bring me back to life. song = theme

.

Three-dimensional spatial coordinates don't matter much, but as far as the fourth dimensional coordinate goes, I'd like the point where I die to be several decades in the future.

I could answer this question, but the thread would get locked.

And, no, I can't say why.

I wanna die sometime in my mid- to late 2nd C of life next to my lastest 20-something supermodel lady lover surrounded by a gaggle of lawyers all vying to get me to sign a new will turning my vast billions over to this or that charity trust so they can (mis)manage the funds after I'm gone.

What will actually happen is I'll probably die alone out in some back alley next to a garbage bin, snuggled up with some vermin trying to use my corpse for warmth.

My great uncle died once. Heart stopped. He keeled over. Woke up sometime later in the hospital. Doing okay these days it seems.

As to where I want to die. I can't successfully plan what I'm going to do next year it seems, so giving consideration to the place/conditions of my death... well, with this post, I've already spent too much time on that topic.

Somewhere in the wilderness…

With my hands clasped around the throat of the person who killed me, sending them to hell first.

Somewhere near The Great Attractor a little after the heat death of the universe.

Do you have to survive the landing? Because if not, I could be the pilot...

Anywhere that allows for resurrection magic or technology to be so cheap that it is handed out like candy in Halloween.

Anywhere but here.

Some ways into the future, location unimportant as long as it's quick and unexpected.

In my bed, while I'm asleep. Because I'm boring like that. And dislike pain.

Any place that it is physically impossible for me to go (angling for immortality here).

My own demiplane. In several thousand or million years. Screw physics. Screw biology.

That's assuming killing you doesn't get them into Heaven.

Heh. God, sometimes I kill myself.

Wait, uh ...

In my own bed, in my own home, surrounded by friends and family telling stories about how I'd affected and improved their lives.

It's how my "honorary uncle" did it, and it was awesome. He had advanced ALS, couldn't move, and could only communicate using a handheld device, so when he decided to go we all flew in from all over the country, stood around his bedside, and told tales of how he'd made our lives better. He (almost) died with a smile on his lips. (Just NEVER get me started on euthanasia laws in this country!)

I've experienced a lot of deaths, and most of them rip holes in your loved ones' lives (two suicides, two accidental drownings, motorcycle accident, breast cancer, SIDS, and ALS).

My "honorary uncle's" death was just plain awesome. We still talk about how great it was. It provided all of us with closure, and let him die knowing what a great life he'd led.

All good.

Where....

Where do I expect to die or where do I want to die?

One involves being dead of cancer, heart desease, or a stroke. So, a hospital.

The other involves a huge series of impossible events.

Of old age, after I survive the I.Z.A.

With my wife. If I'd had my druthers, I'd hit the immortality list as well, but I'm totally okay going out whenever it's my time. I mean, I'm not chompin' at the bit to go, but, you know, I've had an awesome life. My only regret would be that I couldn't spend more time with my family.

One of the more clever bids for immortality yet, 'round here. Well played.

Beautiful, man. Just wonderful. :D

I second the "on my bed, in my sleep", as I too dislike pain. However, I'll add "alone". Don't want anybody waking up to my dead body and being traumatized.

As to when, I'd like to live a long live, but I'd also like to go before my body and mind degenerate into a prision. So, depending on medical improvements, at no more than 70.

I don't mind "where" so much as "why." I want to die saving someone's life. Until I can swing that, I'm not allowing myself to, even if that means pulling an Urgathoa.

I plan to live forever. Or die trying.

If you want poetry:

In the arms of another,
Down by the sea,
The ocean my mother,
She calls to me.

In the arms of my true love.

Given how little luck I've had finding them, I'll be effectively immortal.

It comes naturally to me... Probably because I'm so extraordinarily handsome, brilliant, strong, charming, wise... And humble.

Starting WW3.

Perhaps you two should formally introduce yourselves to each other somewhere private. Could be you were meant to cross paths here.

Stranger things have happened.

Alas, I fear it wouldn't work though. I suspect he isn't my type.

I have no idea if that means you're a he who doesn't like hes, a she who doesn't like hes, or just hopelessly opposed to kismet. ;)

Easy one.

I'd like to die at the restaurant at the end of the universe.
