Skull and Shackles PbP (with Heavy RP) recruitment thread

Recruitment

Thank you guys! I certainly did have a really fun time roleplaying with you all. Maybe someday we'll meet again... but remember what I said. We are all destined for greatness!

Congrats, Alkyd!

Reopening the thread. We are adding two more players at least. I am finding that 4 players didn't quite work to my liking on Skull and Shackles from an RP standpoint, and want to add some more lively conversations to the boat as ye swab all the blood off them thar decks!

Same rules apply as in original post, still playing on Roll 20 (100%).

I'll be asking my players to drop in and socialize with you all. If you do some digging through the thread, you can find who they are :) We won't be starting the game over, but we are only a minor combat in, and a dedicated player can get completely caught up on the story while drinking the morning coffee :) (and is expected to do so, at least the story part. Not so much the coffee part if you don't have the preference... )

Hi, still here.

Glad to have you in the thread. My players are notified and will be stopping in when they get word we are adding more :)

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

Hi... I'm here and watching the thread too... Can't wait to see who applies and who gets selected.

*peeks in* I know I'm in Kingmaker but can I make people walk the plank too?

I don't see why not if you feel like you have the time :) We'd be happy to have you!

I'll send you the link, while you think about it...

Still looking for one more.

So should the roleplay start on the ship or back at the tavern?

I can have 2 Roll20s open at different tabs :)

Definitely interested. Where can I find the list o' characters? I've got a couple ideas for my own character, but it'll be somewhat dependent on what roles need to be filled, in combat, out of combat, and on the ship itself (captain, cook, etc.)

EDIT: Also, which races/classes are allowed?

CRB and APG are a solid yes, classes and races (besides witch, and I'm not too fond of the idea of a barbarian pirate) everything else on approval. As long as you have a concept in mind I am happy to hear it out :)

Another player and I from a slow and dying S&S game are definitely interested! Reijo Ilvonen (this profile) is an angry veteran o' the seas, and I'll let "No-Eyes" Bellamy introduce himself. We developed a fun piratey repore with each other in that game and really enjoyed roleplaying with each other, but we're down to two players and the GM seems to be neglecting us.

To see our roleplaying styles, feel free to peruse our gameplay thread, though we actually started roleplaying in the recruitment thread, and carried over into the discussion thread before starting in the gameplay.

I will review your requirements and adapt as needed. I just wanted to state our shared interest for now, if you'll have two new players. :)

"Hee,hee! That be a right polite speech Reijo boy! Mighty kind o' ye ta introduce me like ya did!" No-Eyes cackled from across the table.
It's hard to tell who he's talking to, what with the patches across both eyes.
He leaned back in his chair and blew a smoke ring, then drew on his pipe again.
"Say, did ye ever find yer tobakkey pouch?" He grinned as he wondered aloud, smoke drifting from his lips.

A tan man with piercing blue eyes and long black hair scowls at the blind sailor, an expression that seems to come... too naturally to him. He blows smoke from a billiard-shaped pipe in Bellamy's direction as a response to his question.

In a gravelly deep voice, "Say Blindey, did ye ever finds that... oh waits, ne'er ye mind... yer deadlights be as dim as yer bloody dungbie hole!" Coughing and hacking accompany the gruff sailor's hearty laughter at his blind friend's expense. Perhaps the man's lungs would be better off had the man lost his "tobakkery" pouch for good...

Pirate Speak:
Deadlights = Eyes
Dungbie = Rear end

If you are planning on running this on Roll20, at what time of day/time zone are you planning sessions? Also, what roles are you needing. 34 years of D&D experience here. I am old school, but can role play as well as roll play! Need a list of my writing creds? Published by Judges Guild, Necromancer Games and Goodman Games with about a dozen products. Let me know what you need and I can write something up if the times match. Ole Fishguts 'll tell ya "It's not like your gonna be volunteerin' anyways, if Ya know what I means!

Just making an attempt with Andrea, an Urgathoian priestess whose goal is to establish herself in the Shackles as a way to allow others of her faith to arrive safely. She isn't the traditional face-stuffing, undead-romping type but an unassuming woman who masquerades as a Pharesmian and is quite willing to heal others so she can acculminate lots of favors.

We are spread out over the US. Time Zone doesn't matter as much as how available you are to log in and make posts throughout the day. I think that 2 are eastern, one is mountain, 2 of us are Pacific. Sounds pretty fun and I'm sure you'd be a good addition.

"No eyes" and Reijo, welcome. I am not sure that we are looking for two anymore, my current players keep joining in, and that isn't a bad thing, though it does put a limit on how many people can join! The RP looks great, hope we have a place for you both when it all shakes up, but still trying to figure that out.

Andrea, welcome and thanks for the consideration.

As to anyone else that might post, we are still figuring out the number we need for the group. I didn't count on some of my players converting over, because I hadn't heard from a couple until right after I reopened the thread.

Logging on during the day is not an issue as I am disabled. Just the last time I committed to a Roll20 game they wanted several hours online during the early evening which is the time I take with my wife and family. I run a rather slow PBP so I am here anyway. Most of the players only post a couple of times a week:(

In the meantime, Fishguts will just hang out nursing a bottle( of cheap grog minding his own business as much as possible. (I could even run him if nothing else! My wife thinks he reminds her of me:)) He looks over the new prospects for one that can fish!

This is still a PBP, by the by. It just happens to be run through Roll20 instead of here.

Thanks Brayden. I'll keep checking in to see. :)

And me!
