Gotta hit the grocery store. That’s been an “ouch” for some time now.

Walmart for kids clothes, new sunglasses, maybe one or two other things. It’s a good place in times like these.

Probably Lowes. But not if I can get what I need cheaper elsewhere.

Pet store to get food for the beast. That’s probably gone up in price by about 25% over the last few months.

Gotta get some gas in the car. That’s been another “ouch” for the last two years.

Home being in Texas, we have plenty of places to get a good steak. That said, whilst running some errands today, I was happy to see what will soon be an Outback going into one of our local shopping complexes.

The boy came back inside to tell me his friend’s boomerang got stuck up on “the corner” of a neighbor’s roof. They wanted me to get a ladder out and help them get it.

So I go take a look, and the damn thing is midway up to the top. I told them to kiss it goodbye, and that under no circumstances were they to try and get on that roof. The last thing we need is trip to the ER.

I know my Trailblazer has at least one or two problems. Now I just need to do some research and see if the cost of repairs is (as I suspect) more than what the thing is worth.

On the other hand, all I need is enough to keep it running decently. Can’t afford a new vehicle these days.

And I’m considering cutting back on at least one streaming service. It’s between Disney+ and Netflix. I’m leaning more towards keeping Netflix, because they seem to actually have more things I’d want to watch.

BACON PANCAKE STICKS

INGREDIENTS

No-Stick Cooking Spray
2 cups Hungry Jack® Complete Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix (Just Add Water)
1 1/3 cups water
12 strips cooked bacon, cut in half
Hungry Jack® Original Syrup

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

COAT griddle or large skillet with no-stick cooking spray. Heat over medium heat (375°F). Whisk pancake mix and water in large bowl until smooth. Let stand 3 minutes.
PLACE batter in liquid measuring cup. Pour batter into a 4-inch oval shape a little longer and wider than bacon slice. Press slice of bacon in the center.
COOK until edges are dry, about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Turn; cook an additional 1 minute or until golden brown. Repeat to make remaining sticks. Serve with syrup.
