Oh! I didn't pay nearly enough attention to that item the first time I saw it. That's much more useful than I thought it was. Up-vote.
A new item! It's been awhile...
Has anyone seen more than 678 unique items?
I'm running some statistical analyses to estimate the total number of items submitted, and I'm trying to determine if my initial estimate is realistic.
I have to take all those penalties- for such a small benefit? No thanks.

And there's that Dedicated Voter tag I was expecting.
Seems I missed a few tally marks here and there; my count puts me a few votes short of 500.
So, my voter stats as of now:
500 votes cast
507 unique items seen
24 items in my keep folder
Camping item I could see making good (alternate) use of as a rogue. Up vote.

I'm currently holding at 654. Does that help?
Thanks, Feros. That does help.
Last year, the mark-and-recapture method I'm using to estimate the number of entries in the contest gave an estimate about 10% lower than the highest recorded number of unique items seen. Given your current count and my last few estimates, the mark-and-recapture seems to be falling short by a similar amount this year.
My first and largest estimate of 678 entries is probably closest to correct, though it's distinctly possible that the actual number of entries this year is closer to 745.

Is that higher or lower than your estimates from last year or about the same?

New item. Sort of interesting, but... I'm not sure why anyone would ever use it?
(Except maybe a GM as a plot device.)

Of course, oddly enough, I'm not Eric ;) As the Eric in question, I'll confirm that my estimates for this year are lower than my estimates for last year, even though my estimates for last year were taken after the cull.
Edit: A decrease in numbers this year would also be consistent with Feros having seen only 654 unique items after having hit Marathon Voter.
So stuff from last year is still estimates? It was not released how many submissions were made and how many submissions were voted on (since a portion of those could be auto-rejected)?

We do know that last year, a Champion Voter (it might have been Feros) saw just shy of 900 unique items in four weeks of voting.
"The true power of the item is revealed when..." Drink!
Hmm...methinks I detect a JourneyQuest reference.

Every so often, I find myself searching this thread for key terms involving my item.
I need to fast forward about two weeks.
Ah, back home after a night on a train.
Why not continue voting?
Also, thought up a pretty nifty creature while trying to sleep amidst the rumble of the train. Now I'll just have to check if it's actually unique.
Woo, just hit marathon!
...I have no delusions about champion.
Here's mine at last!
Argh... Spelling mistake, comma/dot mistake, and I DID forget that detail! Won't make it, probably.
Storage Wars!
Item remaker vs. creature remaker
I'm looking at some pretty decent items, even cool ones... and then an added effect (even two or three) with no explanation/meaning/sense to the item.
Leaving that out would make cooler items out of 70-80% of multi-effect items... really, I mean it!
uahah, just found a modern software in the make of an item... pretty cool though ^^
The only reason the rulebooks list items as "Item, Magic" is for easy reference since items have variants and rulebooks alphabetize magic items. The actual names of the items are still "Magic Item."
okay this item reminds me of when my uncle used to pretend he had stolen my nose.

Yep. Mine has a capitalization error, a formatting mistake, and is missing a part I thought of about fifteen seconds after hitting "submit".
But then, you can only edit so long before you just hafta say it's time to turn it in.

Maybe Mike Welham's raptor gloves? (Nope, wasn't them. Can't find the comment now, though Gloves, Charlatan did make it in in 2012.)
Whew: 600 unique items!
Can there really be a couple hundred more that I haven't seen at all?

You never know if it is a good idea, found 6 mistakes in mine, you may still have a chance!
I know I've been consistently upvoting a couple of items with formatting/spelling issues.

I predict the gorget will be next year's gloves. Runes are the new filigree, but attuning just never goes out of fashion.

Wasn't sure how and when to use it properly though at the time.

Saw something official again
Also saw the RPG Superstar 2014
But the real question is: where is my item, I want to vote for it again.
Mike Welham wrote: I know I've been consistently upvoting a couple of items with formatting/spelling issues. Same here.
I know I made plenty of fun about entries with spelling or formatting errors, but that doesn't mean I can't look past that. Especially after discovering 2-3 errors in my own submission, but that has barely anything to do with anything... :)

Again he says - lol.
At least one of us is waiting to vote on their item for the first time, like me! :P
I downvote spelling mistakes, template failures, bad items, item that do nothing, camping items, items that talk to me, items that apologize, official items and so many more!
WOW I was so impressed until that last power! shame!
