Ok, you don't have to read through all the "critique my items" threads to see if the idea has been done before (though you probably should), but at least read all Top 32 from previous years.
So far, I've spotted at least three variations of spellstrike vambraces, one batrachian helm and one effect used in the iron bands of the blue dragon.
That is basic homework.
On a more positive note, there are some interesting ideas around, and I've already got some items in my Keep folder. ;)

Wow, does 60 seconds seems like a really long time after a while.
Paizo reduced this after a few days last year as people were starting to remember items very well making the voting more painful when you can know at a glance how you want to vote.
Maybe next year they could do something like...
60 seconds until you hit star Voter, then it becomes 45 seconds until you hit Dedicated which then drops it to 30 seconds, with Champion dropping it to a low 10 seconds.
You never know, stranger things have happened.
