Still showing as Pre-order on Amazon, with an available date of November 12th.
EDIT: Do you mean Adventure Path or Adventure Card Game? Because it looks like someone's broken street date on the Skinsaw Murders deck, although Amazon itself has it on pre-order still.
Sorry, I meant the Adventure Card Game/Skinshaw Murders. Looks like it is just Funagain games selling as you're right that Amazon shows pre-order. Again, I've got other webstores I use showing in stock too.

I wonder if card game distributors (or sellers) are used to operating under different rules than those in the book trade. As a general rule, subscribers get their copies of books on or around the street date (not always before it though).
Selling the PACG expansion online a week early is pretty poor form, in my view.

I just looked at Funagain and they have it as a preorder only.

Then why are they selling it as in stock (only 9 left btw) on Amazon? That makes no sense. Nothing on that link says pre-order.
Oh well, I guess when mine ships on the 25th and arrives on the 31st I'll still remember how to play the game. At least I'll have everyone else's session reports to read about how awesome Adv 2 is to pass the time.

Look over to the right on "More buying choices"
Amazon themselves have the product properly on preorder, while the default seller (Funagain Games) are apparently breaking the street date.Enlight_Bystand |

The street date at some point was the 23rd, but it got pushed back. It's possible that the stores who are selling didn't notice the change. Don't always attribute to Malice what could be down to simple incompetence

Look, I understand that you guys are in a bind, but I still don't have my order that I PAID for last month. It is showing up as coming with this months order, but seriously, since I have already waited for a month for something I should have in my hand right now, can I get a little consideration and pushed to the front of the shipping queue?

Something has gone wrong if you we're charged a month ago and it hasn't shipped yet.
Paizo don't charge your card until the product ships. You should start a separate thread so they can look into your specific order and see what's going on.

Increasingly frustrated as well. I had to call customer service to find out about my order status, which has not yet even been shipped. I also pre-paid with the subscription; if there are problems with shipping it would be helpful if that information was indicated on the order status. Instead, all the information i get is "pending", which is not informative enough to satisfy.
I enjoy the product, but the roll-out is far slower than the game speed. I am stuck with the choice to overlevel my characters or simply shelve the game. We tried playing without end-rewards but that simply didn't have appeal, sorry.
Shikutz |
Subscriptions aren't on a prepaid basis. They don't charge your card until they pack your order and its ready to go.
I'll have to check my card statement to confirm, but according to the subscription page payment is authorized on the 5th, parcel is shipped the 18th. If this is a misunderstanding, i apologize; but it only underscores the need for more accurate information regarding subscriptions.
Steve Geddes |
I agree about that (the reason for my post really). There are often queries along these lines - occasionally there's a real issue, but usually everything is working as intended, even if not as desired. :/
What happens when you sign up for a sub is that paizo "authorise" your card to check their system can talk to your bank's system. That means they place a temporary hold on funds (a bit like when you check in to a hotel, I think) but the money doesn't leave your account. After a few days, the hold subsides and then the charge is properly processed each month as your order ships.

Here is the FAQ about charging and shipping. If you think there's something going on that's not covered in this FAQ, contact CS directly or start a new thread with your order number (because a single post complaining about a specific order in a long thread is likely to get missed by CS).

I know the feeling. In fact its almost worse once it has shipped.
My late month, obsessive mail checking is a long established pattern of behaviour.
Weird. Can't imagine why anyone would do that ;)
Um. Anyway. Can't stop to chat on the boards, I need to go check.. um... a desktop application that sends me notifications of completely unrelated things!

I show that your order was authorized October 14th, but we have not charged your order as it has not yet been processed for shipping.
The estimated dates for your December shipment according to your My Subscriptions page state authorization on December 5th and shipment by December 18th. Is this perhaps what you are reading?

Uh, are we sure about that street date in the U.S.? I was getting ready to come on here and seriously consider cancelling my Adventure Path subscription because I can get it right now on several (though not every) OLGS including Amazon. Considering my luck, my order (still pending btw) will probably be the very last one done so 25th for me, and I could order it tomorrow and have it no later than Saturday (thanks priority shipping).
I'm just curious why seemingly everyone else has the product except the subscribers? And if you're thinking that 30th date was going to keep that from happening, evidently you were wrong. Once it goes up on Amazon as in stock, every FLGS has to sell it or lose a lot of business.
As mentioned by another Amazon is not showing "in stock" but it is showing pre-order (Nov 12th). So it is doubtful that you will be getting anytime soon if you ordered it through them.

Is says preorder only on their site too. Not sure where you are seeing that they have them in stock?

The listing that everyone was seeing on Amazon but sold by FunAgain Games was an error on Amazon's site. We've been in touch with the FunAgain guys and they have assured us that they set up their offering to be a pre-order until the 30th and any orders they are receiving between now and then will be delayed until after the release date.
I hope that helps clear some of this up.

Well, I'm sure that will cheer up the people who saw it as available and ordered it thinking they'd get it either Sat. or Mon.
And yes, I got excited when that charge showed up last week thinking it was going to be eminently shipped, but alas, it went away after several days (note this wasn't the signed up for sub. charge as that happened towards the end of last month).
I do want to congratulate a company that actually rewards their long-term subscribers over the newcomers (since they get their stuff first). Too many companies fall all over themselves for the newbs instead of valuing their long-term customers. So kudos for that even though that means everyone else will have finished Skinsaw before I and a few other newbs get theirs. (No sarcasm at all as I genuinely appreciate that)

Long term subscribers aren't shipped earlier (I don't think so anyway). The schedule is set by an arcane algorithm based predominantly around making the packing and shipping process as fast as possible overall. Some months you'll be first in the queue, sometimes last.

I actually read that as meaning "subscribers tend to get things shipped to them before they hit retail" rather than order of precedence in the actual subscriber shipping.

One day left to get my stuff by the estimated time of delivery. I'm not feeling too optimistic about that happening though.
If it helps any, just remember some of us are still waiting for dispatch and even then it'll take two weeks-ish to reach us ;)
(Meh, I really need to move to the US. WTB green card!)

What is really frustrating is that for my subscription, I did it to have my product by street date. I'm not saving that much money (less than 50 cents). Since my order is still pending, I'm almost guaranteed not to have it until sometime in November. After the street date. I don't get a benefit of a free PDF, I only get the benefit of getting a promo card that I woild get from my FLGS anyway. This might cause me to rethink keeping my subscription going, as it isn't giving me the benefit that it should have intended.

Sounds like me last month, I got my last shipment on the last possible day before it would be late. This month, I had hoped to have had my order shipped by last weekend so i could look at my pdfs, now i'm wondering if that will happen by this weekend.

This is a common misconception. It's worth knowing that getting the product early isn't one of the intended benefits of a subscription (even though its a big part of why many of us sign up for them).
Paizo's goal is that subscribers will receive their product as close as possible to the street date. The only thing they guarantee though is the discount to retail, free PDFs (where that makes sense) and other specific perks (like the promo cards).
I don't think it helps that there seems to have been a big influx of subscribers with the PACG release (and issues with how the promos work). This seems to have resulted in the last couple of months being somewhat glitchy. Usually, paizo's subscription process runs very smoothly. Even as an international subscriber I generally get my stuff within a day or two of the release date (and early just as often as late). Hopefully, things will go much better in November and especially December when the next PACG subs go out.

I've already talked to customer service about it and the 'solution' was to put the items on the next order. All I am saying is that if you already have a pissed off customer because they didn't get their order from the month before, wouldn't you pull that account and make sure it went out as soon as possible the next month?

I don't know the specifics, of course, so i cant comment on your case. I just thought I'd mention that a charge without the product shipping is very unusual, so it would be worth getting CS involved. You're obviously way ahead of me.
With regard to singling out individual orders, I think their focus is on making the whole system as rapid as possible. No doubt there are many customers with similar arguments for prioritising their orders. Should Paizo preference people who have waited for a long time? People who have paid more? People who've been subscribed for longer? People who have longer postage times?
if there were an often-invoked exception process, I suspect each month's subscription run would be even longer. Given the recent strains on the system, I could understand them avoiding tinkering beyond what was absolutely necessary.

I jumped into Pathfinder right off the bat by converting my subscription of Dragon over to Pathfinder. I can tell you I don't receive any special treatment. Paizo treats all their customers the same, whether they're new or old, liked valued customers.

Hey everyone, I'd like to thank you so much so your patience so far. This is pretty much one of the worst case scenarios for us (problems shipping orders during a major shipping month). Our warehouse staff is working super hard to get things out as fast as possible. I'm sending CS Erik down to help ship.
When we planned out this month's shipping, we estimated two weeks to accommodate such a large number of products. Unfortunately that extra time we got eaten up by technical issues and then some.
Trust me when I say we are working as hard and quickly as possible to get orders out.
thanks

Well, if what I said wasn't true, then someone needs to tell the BGG people because that's where I got that little tidbit. It's in the Skinsaw ETA thread where a couple of people said that if you signed up late, you'd get your sub later than others.
Granted, as I said before, I'd be last out of 10 or 10,000 orders even if I'd been here for 3 years because my luck is just that awful so I don't care (hell, instead of Postal it went UPS with my choice being the default, which considering how far away from the warehouse I am (KY) I thought for sure it would be Postal, so if I get it in 2 weeks and/or without it beat to hell I'll be shocked). God, I hate UPS. So, yay, I get to enjoy everyone else's feedback and session reports about how good this AP is.
Oh well, not you guys' fault just sucks to be me. Though, you all might very well want to set aside a copy of AP2 and especially the promo card because again, UPS blows. Again, I'll go change the shipping option, but I will never believe that going from Washington to Kentucky was cheaper via UPS for just the AP2 and promo card unless you are getting some amazing shipping discounts. Priority mail is usually $4-6 cheaper than every other gaming website I use.

I dont want to give you false hope, but I believe I saw someone with just a card game subscription who posted that theirs had arrived whilst their order was still showing as "pending". That doesnt mean yours was in the same batch - especially given this month's issues. But it's kind of encouraging.
