Holy crap! That was cool. At the end, when <redacted> requested to escort <redacted> to prison, then turns around and <redacted>s <redacted> - what an excellent scene! I mean, I kind of saw it coming as soon as the escort request was made, but the way it was handled!?! Awesome.
I have a feeling <redacted> is going to make an awesome villain.

You can watch and enjoy this week's SHIELD without seeing Winter Soldier first, but it will spoil you for some major plot elements in the movie. Flip-wise, WS will spoil one potential surprise in SHIELD, but there's plenty of other twists that build off of that, so you're better off seeing WS first.

Okay, you guys pretty much answered what I needed to know.
Got it. See Captain America 2 first, then watch this week's episode (currently sitting on my PVR).
Yeah, I wouldn't watch this week's SHIELD without seeing Cap2 first.
Also, with regard to the show: The show has gotten really good and I'm glad I stuck with it.

Yeah, I wouldn't watch this week's SHIELD without seeing Cap2 first.
Y'know, MARVEL really shoulda had this warning in big red letters with a loud siren or something going off at the start of the episode.
Haven't seen Cap2 and won't for a least another week or so, in all likelihood.

I think it's brilliant. I was all content with waiting another week or so before going to see the movie, now I can't wait and I am strongly debating the merits of jipping my nephew and going to see it on my own before I go see it with him.

I got approval from the wife a month before Cap 2 came out, with weekly reminders, then daily reminders the week it came out! :)
It's like a vacation request: your boss always appreciate more than a day's notice! ;)

Oh, she wants to see it almost as much as I do. So do my kids. But the two oldest sons are in spring hockey leagues, so weekend matinees are tough to schedule.
And if I were to go see it on my own there would be a sizable mutiny, I think...

I believe you must fake an injury, in your case...

Next week's show is at 9 pm, with this week's episode coming on again at 8 PM. I assume this is being done to allow those who haven't seen CA:WS to do so and take in fully what happened before moving on. Which I highly support.
Four more episodes after the new one until the season is done, so it should be one helluva ride from here on out.

Guest starring Agent Hill on 4/29 and Nick Fury on the season finale 5/13.

And now we see both the positives and negatives in making a TV show that is supposed to coincide and/or cross over with feature length films. The slow start had to have been due in large part to this crossover - which was awesome, don't get me wrong - but the negative side was the stuck in molasses nature of the first batch of episodes.
All said, IMO it's more positive than negative. You don't see many other studios like Marvel even attempting to do this kid of thing much less pulling it off successfully. There was Defiance but that's an MMO-TV event that didn't call for as much "Long Game" planning as Marvel.
And speaking of the Long Game, my vote on Agents of Shield is that this was the season not series finale. I'd be surprised if it doesn't get renewed for another season at this point. Even if it doesn't take a significant bump in popularity after this crossover event, I Disney/Marvel has the resources to run this for another couple seasons if it really wants to.

I couldn't find it today, but yesterday I saw a story that said ABC hadn't renewed any shows for next season, but MAoS was on the "highly likely" list. Since the show is owned basically whole-cloth by Disney/ABC and can serve as a launch/support platform for their very lucrative movie business, I doubt it operates under the same rules as a typical TV show, with regard to ratings, etc.
We'll see, but I'd be surprised if it's not back next season. Especially given the buzz about it the last couple weeks.

That is unless the writers are playing a long game with him and reveal a second character twist..which is doubtful.
I was just glad the traitor wasn't one of the Fitz-Simmons pair, even though that would have had a hell of an impact

That said, I'm surprised they didn't mention anything about the Sandbox being compromised, since that's where they send all the dangerous artifacts.

The is he/isn't he speculation may be cleared up in this interview over at marvel.com. MAJOR SPOILERS on the other side of that link.
Edit: looking up thread, it seems Mir linked to the same interview. It's a good read so heed both of our advice and check it out =P

I have a feeling Hand got shot in the shoulder with a real bullet, causing her to bleed, then shot twice with those icer rounds to shut her up and make her play dead. Those mooks at eighter side of Garret are dead though, but I don't remember seeing blood on them, so it's likely they were Life Model Decoys

One problem:
I'm sensing there's something else going on we don't know about yet.

Though the idea that there's an AIM connection here still strikes me as a possibility. The whole thing sounds like MODOK. He's designed to calculate probabilities and predict outcomes in a way that would seem like precognition.
