Thread for those of you who are going to GM this AP.
Which original soundtracks are you going to use for support the description of certain scenes in the first module?

E.S. Posthumus

Specifically, opening with Unstoppable or Kalki

DragonForce, DragonForce, and...hmm, let me think, MOTHERFREAKIN' DRAGONFORCE!!!

Seriously, since they announced Wrath of the Righteous, I knew it was gonna be the single most metal AP they've ever released!

I would like to suggest Demonslayer (Debauchery) and Progenies of the Great Apocalypse (Dimmu Borgir).

What about the Planescape Torment soundtrack?

Silver Crusade

10/12 of my table are musicians, we have everything from death metal to soft gentle ballads. Vary handy :D

I think the Rebuild of Evangelion OSTs would do well, along with the Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Strange Journey, and IV OSTs, maybe a little Devil Survivor too.

I am such a dork...

I'm using nothing but 80s music. especially Huey Lewis' Power of love for a certain scene where a pair of NPCs are reunited.

Two Steps from Hell, and possibly I'll borrow from the Pacific Rim soundtrack too (just so thematically similar, closing a horrible rift to another dimension from which horrors are coming to kill us all, and the final line of defense has been broken...*sigh*, canceling the apocalypse indeed). For the darker scenes, I might use Erdensterns Into the Dark, or soundtracks from Dracula and Silent Hill. I've yet to find a suitably demonic sounding soundtrack so far, but I'll keep looking.

I suggest you try to soundtrack for the DOOM64 video game, is very atmospheric and suits perfectly to the Worldwound.

I am thinking about to convince my players to perform a variable of the Beelzeboss scene from Tenacious D movie when they finally meet Noctycula.

I would give all my money to challenge a demon to a rock-off.

I will use this when i will be describing destruction of city.

I think i will use this one piece of greatness alot in this AP.

Wow's theme for the Sha is pretty fitting for the Worldwound and demons in general.

Two Steps From Hell of course :)
Also a selection of Christopher Drake (Gods Among Us comes to mind) and even some Hans Zimmer (the Terraforming track from Man of Steel fits, since the Worldwound is a demonic effort at terraforming Golarion).

Scarab Sages

So far I have some selections from Battle Royale and the Japanese TV Show Maou. Still looking, but those have the tension filled tracks I'm looking for so far! :)

I also might pull some tracks from Beetlejuice. It all depends on if I can find some better tracks!

agreed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtJIMeyzh48 Is a favorite of mine for big demon/angel encounters.

I'll be using:

The soundtrack to the game Dante's inferno

Chosen pieces from the Hellgate London soundtrack

The Diablo 3 and Diablo 2 soundtracks

The soundtrack from the Diabloesque game Path of exile

This orchestral version of the Gateways song by the Norwegian black metal band Dimmu borgir

as well as some chosen pieces from Immediate music, X-ray dog, Two steps from hell, Jo Blankenburg and James Dooley

Silver Crusade

I'm still in the process of selecting tracks to be used for Wrath, but here's what I have so far:

Shinedown - Diamond Eyes from The Sounds of Madness (considered the main theme of the AP)

Aubrey Hodges - Malignant (Level: Catwalk) and Breath of Corruption (Level: Paradox) from Final Doom Playstation: Official Soundtrack to convey the eerie desolation of the Worldwound as well as Deskari's realm

Susan Calloway - Answers from Before Meteor: Final Fantasy XIV (considered the closing theme of the AP)

Hatebreed - I Will Be Heard from Perserverance (battle song)

Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper (TV Mix) from Cult Classic (used for the battle between The Storm King and Terendelev the Silver Guardian of Kenabres) TV Mix denotes its an instrumental track

Micky Hart - Alembic from The Warriors of Virtue Original Soundtrack (haven't figured how I'm using this track, but it's just a matter of time before I do)

I'm sure I'll come up with more, plus my players will be giving me tracks to use as character themes

Will be keeping an eye on this thread for more ideas....

The theme music for Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. I rather like the triumphant strident music... and when you get down to it, similar themes between the two! ^^

Scarab Sages

I've also recently added a lot of the instrumentals from Angel (the Buffy spin-off). There's a lot of good apocalyptic/harrowing situation tracks! :)

You want epic music? Check out the soundtracks for the God of War games!

Soundtrack from old computer game called Chaos Gate. It suits Warhammer so it would be perfect for any demonslaying game. Also metal bands like Necrophagia, Grimfist and Belphegor.

The soundtrack from the movie "Legion" has some pretty cool epic themes of good vs evil, big combat instrumentals, and a lot of pieces with pseudo-gregorian chants that always evoke a medieval religio-spiritual feel.

"Kingdom of Heaven" has some good stuff for some crusade-related themes, as well...

Shadow Lodge

Some select Halo OST stuff would be cool, too.

Enough Dead

Rock Anthem for Saving the World

the last half of On a Pale Horse

A good deal of Silent Hill (all).

Should have mentioned Silent Hill, DMB - good call. The only problem is that I've been using that extensively through Carrion Crown. Then again, we're only just starting Wake of the Watcher, so if I cut back on SH from now on, my players might see it as new and fresh when I start WotR in a year or so! :)

Had to throw this in here - its a theater technique we use in our games... this one was unfortunately used by us in our Rise of the Runelords game but it might work incredibly well for Wrath of the Righteous, especially with this piece of music.

Check it out here.

I didn't suggest this ost before because I didn't how the game it cames from was spelled in english, The Black Moon Chronicles.

I'm kinda surprised no one's said Demon's Souls or Dark Souls. Both soundtracks are excellent on their own, plus most of their haunting dark fantasy atmosphere is perfect for this AP! Once I nab copies of this AP, I'll probably track down specific tracks in mind.

'Last Temptation of Christ' soundtrack, by Peter Gabriel. Very evocative of a wasteland and themes of good and evil. I like this one for an army moving through a wasteland:

The Feeling Begins

Here's one that really conjures up desolation to me:

Sandstorm

Oh, and lots of Dead Can Dance.

Chant of the Paladin

I loved the E.S. Posthumus suggestion, I didn't know, thanks! :)

I used on our last session some songs from Epica, more exactly The Last Crusade.

Hey, thanks for all this great suggestions! What did you use for describing the devastated city of Kenabres once they got to the surface after the mongrel lair ? I would absolutely love to find the perfect music for that moment...

Grand Lodge

James Clavell's The Last Valley Motion Picture Soundtrack (1971) composed and conducted by John Barry:

Main Title Theme

Planet of the Apes Motion Picture Soundtrack (2001) composed and conducted by Danny Elfman:

Maint Title Theme

The Ninth Gate Motion Picture Soundtrack (1999) composed by Wojciech Kilar:

Main Title Theme

Prometheus Music Picture Soundtrack (2012) composed by Marc Streitenfeld:

Engineers

Space Jockey

Debris

Just an addendum to my previous post, since Dark Souls II is out...

From what I heard over on YouTube, I heavily recommend adding that soundtrack to the mix as well. Now, if only I can grab the deluxe edition of the game which comes with a copy of the OST.
