So I am running this adventure with two different groups and whilst group 2 managed to befriend Romi, the first one didn't and they were quite impolite to them. So after I had Romi reach out several times it just didn't make sense that they would try further, given the players response.
I gave it one last chance and I had Romi contact them for a copy of the Keys app and they wanted to send over a traced version and I had them make an computing check - they rolled a one and had like and overall score of 5 or something.

So I gave up having them become real allies with Romi and they stopped contacting them.
My players are thus not aware that Romi and Indigo are searching for the shadow signal - this in itself is not that much of an issue as they are still heading down (they even captured Kane and bring him with them), but I kinda would like their actions to have an impact given that they really didn't collaborate with Romi but without entirely messing up the story.

I was thinking that potentially, given the back computing check, they sent Romi a version that has an even more intensified version of the shadow signal present. But given that both Romi and Indigo die anyway, maybe they won't even notice.
Should I simply have them find the bodies with the shadow signal still active on their devices and they'll have to figure out what it means?
On the other hand, Romi might have noticed a corrupted version sent over by them, maybe they get suspicious against the players?

Looking for ideas to creatively incorporate that into the adventure so it makes sense!

Thanks in advance :)

Hey,

gearing up on running this short adventure path at work.

I want to get them into the story right from the way (starting out with a new group and new characters) so I am considering building a simple website that might work as the app. Will be trying to give them as much info as possible to play around with around New Elysium.

What kind of pop culture inspiration did you use to describe and flesh out the different locations in the resort? Obviously thinking Fifth Element, Elysium and others, but I am sure there is more inspiration out there!
If I want to build that app, I need to get quite a detailed idea of lodgings, amenities... so any inspiration is welcome!

Thanks :) Excited to get this started!

There is an english website now with more infos and a free PDF: http://www.polaris-rpg.com/

Just finished first chapter of the first book and the group works really well so far (even though I might need to explain de concept of playing a paladin of Iomedae to my player ;))

Markus - Human Paladin of Iomedae (mythic path guardian)
Aballon - Aasimar Ranger (mythic path champion)
Alyas - Samsaran Priest of Cayden Cailean (wanting to become a mystic theurge further on)(mythic path archmage)
Diaz - Half-Orc Oracle with battle mystery (mythic path champion)

Hey, thanks for all this great suggestions! What did you use for describing the devastated city of Kenabres once they got to the surface after the mongrel lair ? I would absolutely love to find the perfect music for that moment...

The Pathfinder Campaign Setting: The Worldwound states 4713 being the year current year. (I guess this is because the campaign was released in 2013 ;))

We started the campaign yesterday and it went really well even though I'm not a very experienced DM and it was my first time DM'ing Pathfinder.

I held the beginning scene a lot like suggested in the adventure path (having them present themselves, then I had Hulrun make his entrance and the light arriving suddenly before they find themselves in complete darkness and the rest of the memories coming back slowly). And it went really well! Like I said, I'm not yet a very good DM and this beginning scene needed to have quite an amount of epicness, so I was really worried I might not get the attention of my players, but it turned out better than expected and at the end of the session they told me that they had really appreciated this beginning.
