Loram moves forward, taking aim with the reaction cannon and firing a blast at the android.

Tactical Reaction Cannon Attack DRR: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29 vs KAC
Tactical Reaction Cannon Damage DRR: 2d10 + 10 ⇒ (4, 5) + 10 = 19 Piercing (& Loram gets +2 to attack roll next turn vs this target)

As there is no map, I want to make sure I'm no farther than about 60' or so from my target so I can charge next round. Also, If Loram is struck (an actual 'hit', not just an 'attack') by a ranged, kinetic weapon he will use his taclash (vs kinetic) or his plasma sword (energy) as a reaction to deflect the ranged attack as below:

Deflect Projectiles Feat:

Opposed Attack (Taclash or Sword) DRR: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 26 vs opponent's attack roll

If my roll beats their attack roll, the ranged attack is deflected (roll above includes the +5 bonus given by the feat) - using this feat costs 1 RP. However, looks like this effort is moot, as the roll was bad and any 'hit' against me requires a better number than that...

"Here I come to save the day!"

Activating Solar Corona

Solar Corona:

As a standard action, you can surround your body with an envelope of fiery plasma. You gain cold resistance 10, and any adjacent creature that hits you with a natural weapon or a melee weapon takes 2d6 fire damage. The corona lasts for 1 round or until you leave photon mode. At 12th level, the damage increases to 3d6 and the cold resistance increases to 15. At 18th level, the damage increases to 4d6 and the cold resistance increases to 20.
When you are attuned or fully attuned, any creature that starts its turn adjacent to you while your corona is in effect takes fire damage equal to half your solarian level.

And then moving directly towards the support group at a rate of 40 ft.

Xera applies her mental offensive powers on the minds of one of the power armor pilots while Deneth simply unleash a bolt of electricity that damages both of them.

Right Ref: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Left Will: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29

Then a couple of hidden enemies take aim and fire at Deneth and Xera:

Attack Roll w/-4 for cover, -2 for Deadly Aim vs. KAC on Deneth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Attack Roll w/-4 for cover, -2 for Deadly Aim vs. KAC on Xera who is FF: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

both miss, however. Then Raxsortun moves and slams the sniper on the left-hand side while Loram fires his autocannon and connects with the Android.

On her action, the android moves up and casts a spell on the Flame Doshko being wielded by the Right Power Armor Pilot.

DC 15 Mysticism:

This spell is Supercharge Weapon, which will cause the weapon to deal extra damage with it's next attack.

The Power Armor Pilots both ready attacks, and Kibbens then triggers those readied attacks by moving into melee.

"Clustering together? There's many reasons not to do that. If only Gerry was here with his grenades." Deneth mutters as he weaves his fingers in a repetitive spell. Moments later tiny but long-limbed robots are crawling over the android and the power armor pilots.

It's not clear to me whether the microbot cloud needs to occupy all of the space of an enemy to affect it, or whether each 5'x5' segment can affect one enemy. If the former then Right PA gets swarmed, if the latter then both PAs & the android get swarmed. Harrying fire gives +2 circumstance to attack those affected, covering fire gives +2 circumstance to AC to anyone attacked by those affected.

Looking at the spell, it looks like it will split and go after all three targets. That's a pretty good debuff spell.

Loram charges into battle, still holding on to the rifle in two hands, but at the moment his concentration is fully on his sword hand, as well as the taclash, should one of the snipers take a shot at him. He positions himself within reach of both soldiers, slashing at the heavily wounded one with the plasma blade and then tries to follow through with the blow and injure the other as well.

Tactical Plasma Sword Attack DRR: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21 vs EAC
Tactical Plasma Sword Damage DRR: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (7, 6) + 19 = 32 Energy & Fire + Cleave attack vs adjacent foe (below)

Tactical Plasma Sword Cleave Damage DRR: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (8, 1) + 19 = 28 Energy & Fire

Move to one of the two squares that will allow me to use the Cleave feat, as both power armor soldiers will be within melee range - though with those hideous rolls I don't think it matters... Note that my AC for this round will be 2 lower (EAC 28, KAC 31), and again, if Loram is struck (an actual 'hit', not just an 'attack') by a ranged weapon he will use his taclash (vs kinetic) or his plasma sword (vs energy) as a reaction to deflect the ranged attack as below:

Xera lines up a shot on one of the Power armor suits and the Android behind it and manages to hit both targets. The power armor trooper, however, is resistant to one of the types of energy that make up plasma energy.

Line attacks only require a single attack and damage roll for each target. Unfortunately, you can't get 3 targets Xera, but you can certainly get 2.

For his part, Deneth summons a horde of nanites that attach themselves to the front row of enemies and begin to harry them.

The sniper that is in combat with Raxsortun turns and fires on him, provoking an AoO. The other sniper will shoot at Deneth again through the cover.

Rax AoO: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30

Attack on Deneth: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31
Damage Roll: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (1, 1) + 7 = 9

Raxsortun again mauls the sniper, who just manages to stay on his feet.

Kibbens swings his Comet Hammer at the more injured of the two power-armor suits.

Attack Roll: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
Damage Roll: 4d6 + 15 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 6) + 15 = 38

Loram moves adjacent to both enemies, but only his first cleave attack hits, as he is distracted by the heat radiating off of Kibbens. He does, however, manage to finish off the more heavily damaged of the two Power Armor units.

Per his ability, you are going to take a small amount of fire damage from his solar corona at the start of your turn.

The Android will cast a spell and disappear.

Mysticism DC 19: 1d6d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 2, 2) = 17

Deneth loses his place in the repetitive motions of the spell when the sniper's bolt of energy wings off his shoulder. "Desna's knives, that was a lucky shot" he curses.

Looking around for the android he asks "Where'd that metalhead go?" To answer his own question he projects an image from his comm unit and looks through it.

See Invisibility is the spell. He'll pass on the location if the android is around but invisible, as opposed to having run off or dimension door'd out.

Was a cover bonus subtracted from the sniper's attack roll? With Energy AC 30, Kinetic AC 32 before cover, a 31 wouldn't be likely to hit Deneth when he's getting any sort of bonus to AC. If they have some sort of ability to ignore cover that'd do it too I guess.

[ooc]The microbots will hang around this round anyway; duration concentration + 1 round.[/oc]

Ah, okay. Didn't have the rules handy. Was hoping a "hidden" attacker might also be in the line of fire, since I wasn't sure where they were.

I am getting pretty confused here though. Who are the snipers? Where are they?

Maybe we can use an editable map with tokens. I threw one together here.

I made up tokens for the players (with white borders) and bad guys (with colored borders). I think the android is out of line of sight bu tI used Iseph's face and a yellow border for that one; the others are generic pirates except for the power armor guy in the hallway. The red X is (I'm pretty sure) where the dead guy in the power armor was.

Does that work for you guys? If so, please arrange the tokens around the map.

The snipers are the ? on the map at the top of the page.

I see a couple of question marks in the cross hallway aft of the power armor guys, so I put a couple pirate tokens (blue and purple) over top of those.

Since Rax was the engineer I guess he was coming from the engine room, which is why he is able to engage the snipers. I'm not sure which one so if I got the wrong one please fix it.

Though if he can maneuver between one of the snipers and the android to take them both with one swing, he will do so.

Again, move to get within melee range of both the android and one of the snipers if possible to cleave (even if it draws an AoO, or just the android if that is not possible. Xera's body suddenly slows, like she is waist deep in molasses.

"What's this? A technomancer!"

Xera gathers her mental energy and prepares for the magician's next attack.

Deneth moves across the passageway pulling out his old pistol as he does so. He touches a green rune on the gun and fires a single shot at the android. Sticky tendrils explode out from the impact.

While Loram is unaffected, Xera feels the processes in her body begin to slow and magic begins randomly seizing various systems. She prepares to try and stop such a thing from happening again.

Deneth moves up and shoots his pistol at the Android woman, which hits her and sticks her to the ground, at least momentarily.

The Snipers then both open up on Raxsortun, one trying to drop him before he is taken down, and the other trying to support his comrade.

Both shots, however, ricochet off of his armor to no effect. Tiring of the game, Raxsortun smashes the sniper he's focusing on to the ground, and he does not get back up.

For his part, Loram moves up and engages both the android and the sniper, although neither are adj. to each other. His attack on the Android, however, is successful, and he deals her a decent amount of damage.

for her part, the Android attempts to cast a spell, but it is countered by Xera's magic. Disappointed by that outcome, she attempts to break free of the goop...

That probably fails because the DC is surprisingly high by PF expectations - 10 + the opponents intimidate bonus, or 15 + 1-1/2 × the opponent’s CR, whichever's higher. If she's willing to consider sense it might work in that respect anyway but these guys seem fairly devoted to their leader.

Sorry for the delay guys. I don't really have a good reason for it, except I think I think I was still waiting on Xera, who had posted before me but I missed it. At any rate:

Xera again attempts to stop any spellcasting shenanigans on the part of the Android, but this time she is a bit more unsure, given how many of her allies are in the way.

Deneth attempts to appeal to the Android's survival instincts, but quickly comes to the realization that she is near fanatical in her belief that they would prevail.

For his part, the sniper steps back and shoots Loram. I am assuming that you are focused on the Android and would want to follow her with your step up ability, given your post.

Attack Roll w/Deadly Aim vs Loram's KAC: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27
Damage Roll: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3) + 10 = 18

The sniper, focused on damage as he was, pulls a bit early and misses Loram.

Unfortunately for Raxsortun, the sniper uses the melee as an odd sort of distraction and manages not to be hit by him.

Loram manages to land the killing blow on the Android, who stops moving just before she could attempt to launch another spell. Xera can save her dispel magic slot.

Raxsortun -22

Assuming that your group is fine with it, I am going to call the combat here, since one sniper might deal a little bit of damage, but not enough to stop your group from killing him. Feel free to expend resources to heal yourselves, and then we'll continue with the chase section.

As the group assesses the situation, they get a message over their comms from Wraith "Uhh, guys? It looks like a shuttle with our quarry is landing on the planet below. You should take the shuttle down and follow them! I'll stay here with the ship."

Seeing the wisdom in Wraith's plan, your group boards the shuttle and rockets your way towards the red sands of Akiton below.

After an expert landing, your group has managed to gain some ground on the pirates, but you notice them take off in two large cargo vehicles, speeding towards a city near the horizon. You undock your own vehicle(s), and the chase is on!

During the shuttle ride down, you can take a 10 minute rest to regain all of your lost stamina.

Quit addendum to my last post: You can take a 10 minute rest and spend 1 RP to regain all of your lost stamina.

The two Urban Cruisers speed off towards the Akitonian city in the distance, the red desert sand rolling up behind them. You board your vehicle and Xera takes the pilot's chair and your All-Terrain Transport's engines rev to life as you streak after your quarry.

We're now into the piloting phase. Xera, go ahead and pick your maneuver and make your check. If you are looking at doing a trick, there currently isn't much in the way of terrain to interact with, other than the pervasive red dust.

GM Screen Vehicle one:

Double Maneuver: Evade and Speed up.

Evade Roll (with -4 Penalty): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
Speed Up (with -4 Penalty): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31

GM Screen Vehicle two:

Engage: Will attempt to engage with Player vehicle

Engage: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33

The vehicle carrying Haarlock speeds off in a winding and evasive pattern, while the secondary vehicle slows down and moves to engage with your vehicle.

"Let's go."

Xera put the vehicle in gear and steps on the accelerator.

I assume we have to catch up to these guys. If the vehicle has not started on my turn then I have to take a move action to Start Vehicle and then Move action to Speed Up. We want to keep up with Haarlock.

Piloting: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (13) + 24 = 37

You can assume that you've started your vehicle, just cause it took them about the same amount of time to start up theirs.

Android Mystic 2 | SP 12/12 : HP 16/16 : RP 3/3 | EAC 16 : KAC 17 | Init +4 : Perc +6 : S.M. +4 | Fort +0 : Reflex +4 : Will +4 | Move 30' | Spells: 1st 1/3 | Ammo 9/9+26

If I can use a full-round action I will take the Race action which is basically a double move, I think. The roll above should make the DC.

If you look at the Campaign info tab, I posted all of the maneuvers that a pilot can take. the only one that is a full-round action is the double maneuver, which imparts a -4 penalty to both maneuver checks. It's also worth mentioning that you can't move your vehicle more than one zone in a chase round.
