So, I recently was running a game, in which I had a succubus to play around with, and one of the characters ran up and grappled her.

On her turn I stated. Okay, we are grappled. We both have the grappled condition, with you being the grappler, so I um. Level drain you.

As it states, a succubus must be in a grapple to perform her Kiss / drain. Am I in the wrong for level draining the grappler who had me held up?

The energy drain attack depends upon the victim being lured into an act of passion. The 2 ways she has for doing that are with her Suggestion ability and her grappling.

It seems to me that successfully initiating a grapple in combat does not constitute being lured into an act of passion. I think the succubus has to gain control of the grapple, or she has to get her victim to fail a saving throw against her suggestion to change the nature of the entanglement.

But the wording of the monster description does seem to allow for your interpretation.

What is this shit?!?!? Nobody comes to this thread looking for serious answers.

Darn - I completely lost track of who wrote this - apologies:

[We established fairly early on in the thread that a grappled succubus can use her ability on the person performing the grapple. I suppose if you could pin her before she got a turn in, you could potentially stop her from getting an Energy Drain in. Hopefully you also avoid the Will save to avoid then tying up all of your friends and letting her loose to have her way with them.]

So to clarify: Would the scantily clad female Paladin using Smite Evil break the grapple or pin? Or would that just make the sin even worse?

This thread can never die. It's like a fine wine. After an energetic and fast paced beginning we are now entering the stage where everyone sits back, savors, and adds meaningful comments or support as necessary while enjoying the palpable feeling of lethargy.

Then, invariably, someone does something particularly stimulating and the cycle begins again.

You need to initiate a grapple.

A hug? Wouldn't that just be a grap-OH CRAP!

You can initiate it, it works too, don't forget the pictures... ;)

Really T? a "Raping Mauler?" Haven't you noticed how subtle everyone is in this thread? Get it together man! Decorum!

I'm sorry. It's a grappling focused PrC from 3.5. I only glanced at the PrC once and that's what my brain did, especially since I don't see what reaping has to do with grappling.

But I do apologize for being too blatant, then, since it offends the sensibilities.

She never said specifically what she would be hugging. Or with what.

I'm sorry. I suppose that, too, is too blatant. I guess lately I'm just about as subtle as a lead pipe.

I shall attempt to stand by quietly while the thread... as other good posters have put it... undulates, shimmies, writhes, squirms, wiggles, thrashes, and otherwise convulses it's way about the RAW questions involved.

Again, I apologize.

Didn't you say you are made of lies and cheap whiskey?

This would mean your work in this thread is never over. :)
Especially considering the GIFs that reflect the general sentiment.

So the last session of my home game took a new spin on the succubus in a grapple. Our wizard decided to telekenetic charge one of the NPCs into the flying succubus to drag her down to the ground so we could all get a piece of her.

It didn't work and I think he should have just tried to impale on his ranseur instead.

And here is an example of why Sorcerers are better than Wizards. Telekinetic Charge is a 4th level spell, Unnatural Lust is a 2nd level spell. I would be surprised if a 7th level Sorceress couldn't match Charisma with a Succubus in an encounter. Why move towards the Succubus when you can make her come to you? And once you're grappling with her, that's when the Rogue sneak-attacks her in the back.

It is much more effective when two rogues are flanking the succubus and giving it to her from both sides.

Only if both rogues have applied their Oil of Slipperiness. Universal Solvent is also acceptable.

The last time our party faced a succubus the wizard attempted to use Touch of Slime but unfortunately he had an accidental premature discharge.

He should've used Slime Wave, preferably with Create Pit beforehand.

Now I really want to my party's wizard to dominate monster on the next succubus we encounter. Then he can transmute rock to mud and tell the dominated succubus to engage the enemy succubus in the mud pit.

EDIT: Appropriate linkies thought of after-the-fact.

Important elements:
* Resist acid 10
* 1d6 acid

(Maybe with bestow curse and create pit just to kind of seal the deal or something.)

Pretty sure that's NOT the top of the list of things worth doing with a dominated succubus.

First, what if there's a PC party member who's a Succubus. Second, don't forget the Shackles of Compliance for those who want to just settle for a tank-and-spank fight. Third, the new ACG has an item called "Grapplers Grease", 5GP, one minute to apply, last 10 minutes, +4 to CMD when attempting grapple maneuvers, you must not be wearing armor to gain the benefits of the item.

I just spewed soda all over my screen at reading "tank-and-spank"! Also keep in mind, Shackles of Compliance pair very well with a Sadist's Lash to insure a sufficiently submissive Succubus.

Well we have a paladin and a LG cleric in our party, so I'm not sure what they'd think of the other activities you infer in your post.

Succubi are capable of shifting into any Small or Medium humanoid RAW, with no restriction on their sex. Incubi are a different demon entirely. The succubi can be in whatever form you like.
