Akasha Tezora |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
It was thanks to the actions of an Andoran Pathfinder that I was able to escape slavery in Cheliax. His example inspired me to join the society, for adventure and freedom alike!
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Researching my heritage was the first task I undertook upon gaining my freedom. I took the surname of my mother's family, though they refuse to have any contact with me on account of my devil-tainted blood. Their loss!
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Used as a guinea pig for magical experimentation in Cheliax. I'm... not fond of the nation as a result. It has shaped me more than I could have imagined, however. It was from the body of my former 'owner' that I acquired my first spellbook.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I'm not one for fashion, and the superstitious masses fear me for my fiendish traits. My enchanted breastplate is my constant companion, and finery and jewelry do not suit me. I am a warrior, and I look the part.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Destroying those who deserve it. There is no truer joy than bringing vengeance upon those who have escaped it for so long.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Slavers!
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
My fellow Knight-Captain Liran Ver'ha. Dozens of battles together have taught me there is no commander I would rather follow into combat.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I'd be lying if I said my fiendish blood didn't influence my temper. Such anger can be an ally in battle, however.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Being chained. I've devoted substantial amounts of resources and preparations to ensure I am always able to escape a situation.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Sarvok, my soul. He takes the form of a black blade, and with him, I am never without a weapon.
Bear Burning Ashes |
"It was Pathfinders that rescued me from my enslavement in Irrisen, and as my gratitude I serve them now. They endeavor to remove artifacts of powerful magic from the world, which I believe to be a good cause, and the conflicts I often find myself in bring glory to Gorum's name."
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
"My family name is for my family alone to use, so I shall not repeat it here. 'Bear Burning Ashes' was given to me by our Quah elder upon my return from my Quest for Klar. It does annoy me when I give my name and outsiders shorten it to simply 'Bear', but they do not know our ways, and so I forgive them. Many Shoanti never truly understand the names they are given until later in their lives. I believe mine refers to my persistence at whatever task I am given, though I am sure it will come to me in a dream the morning before I die."
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
"I am of the Shadde-Quah. I hail from the Calphiak Mountains in the northwest of what others call the 'Nation of Varisia'. It is a cold place patrolled by Giants, Trolls, and Goblins, but nowhere else on Golarion are the walruses as fat and juicy, so I gladly call this place my home."
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
"I am average height for a Shoanti warrior. When I am with my tribe, I do not stand out. To do so brings unwanted attention. I shave my head every morning with a sharp blade and ox fat. Hair is a bothersome distraction. My skin is venerated with the stories of a dozen adventures and important moments of my life, including my enslavement. I dress appropriately for the environment, for the Society sends me to all manner of climates."
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
"I live for the fervor of a heated battle, the songs of warriors striking steel against steel, and helping usher worthy opponents into the Halls of Gorum. When there are no battles to fight I enjoy the warmth of a large fire, the roasted meat of an old walrus, and the intimate company of one (or two) of my fellow warriors."
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
"I have great disdain for needless slaughter. Gorum teaches that conflict is greatest when rivals are equal in strength. Slavery is likewise worth abhorring. If one cannot live a free life, how can they venerate Gorum on the field of battle?"
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
"I have adventured with Sir Reginald Bloat, a Paladin of Iomedae, if I am not mistaken, more so than any other Pathfinders. Neither of us wish to be the last to flee, and so we have never fled a battle together. He is the better diplomat for those times when an Earth Breaker cannot achieve the answers we seek."
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
"Shoanti know persecution as few other humans do. For thousands of years we have fought to maintain our homeland, bringing the fury of Thunder and Fang against the mechanical 'wonders' of those that would oppress us. To stray from this responsibility would mean that I was no longer Shoanti, so if a 'stereotype' you would call me, I will embrace it with pride.
I do tend to have more of an interest in the tongues of foreigners than many of my brethren, however, and I am told I speak 'elegantly'. I have learned the languages of all the northern tribes, and even that of the Goblins. It helps to know the name of the warrior you are striking steel with."
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
"Every warrior fears growing old and weak and slowly dying in his bed, a burden to those he once protected. I am confident that so long as I bring glory to Gorum on the field of battle He will bless me with a hard-fought death."
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Of all the weapons I would wish to defend Gorum's Hall with when He calls me to do so, my Klar would be the first I reach for. Many warriors trek into the mountains to hunt the Spirestalker Lizards, for they are formidable opponents and their flesh is most savory after a long battle, but I came across none during my Quest for Klar. Instead I was met with a foul tempered, fire-breathing creature with wings and a wit for tactics that rivaled my own. I tracked the beast to its lair, and our battle was GLORIOUS! His horned skull adorns my arm now, and it accompanies me wherever I go."
Kanator Starkiller |
1.Why are you a Pathfinder?
To gain wisdom and greater understanding of the world, so that I may use it as a weapon to liberate my homeland.
2.Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture? Yes.
3.Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you? Numeria. It taught me to cherish your freedom, because others will always attempt to steal your freedom through whatever means possible---through the use of magic, men made of metal, or other, sinister ways.
4.What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities? I look...well, barbaric, or so others have told me. Numerous scars adorn my body, trophies from enemies who thought they would be able to slay me in combat. I wear my armor, and this does not change unless I am asleep or traveling in environments that would otherwise make me exhausted.
5.What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count) Power. But not to rule, but to free others.
6.What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count) The Black Sovereign of Numeria and his Technic League allies. I hate their metal men. I hate their black magic that is not of this earth.
7.Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival? None, but that is only because I have been in the Society for a short amount of time. My father is who I look up to. I know that somewhere in Numeria, he awaits my return, and I shall take his side, march to Starfall, and shower Armageddon on the Black Sovereign.
8.How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu? This question does not interest me.
9.What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries? The Silver Mount. Since childhood, I have lived in Starfall, living as yet another thrall of the Technic League. Every day I would see that jagged silver mountain looming in the distance, and I would be reminded of the source of the Technic League's power---and be reminded that creatures exist somewhere else that were capable of making a carriage capable of travelling to the realm of the stars. This is the one thing that scares me.
10.What is your most treasured possession? A bone from a saber tooth cat, given to me by my mother, who had personally ripped it from the mouth of the beast while she killed it.

Nadur Lobhadh (Blight Druid 10)
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Nadur is a pathfinder in order to gain more competence and experience dealing with different ideologies. Nadur's druidic circle believes that all members should at least spend some amount of time wondering the world and discovering how different people see and interact with nature so that members have a better understanding of what they need to protect against and watch out for. Now that Nadur has spent significant time with the Pathfinders he questions returning to his circle.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Yes, Nadur Lobhadh is Irish for Rotting Nature (Sort of).
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Nadur grew up in Varisia but his family of sczarni gypsies was attacked and killed while on the road. A few nearby druids heard the commotion and ran in to safe the caravan but were only able to save a small handful of children due to them being protected by the adults and therefore being the hardest for the attacker to get to. Nadur was then adopted by his druid saviors and raised to be a druid (a balancing factor druid who represents the end of the cycle of life and the new growth that comes from that end)
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Nadur wears rags and various animal furs. Nadur has a large elk skull helm and decorates the antlers with small reminders of the adventures he has been on and the different places he has been. Nadur also has some rather fancy magical items including boots of the cat, druid vestments, and a cloak of resistance but has had all of his magical items commissioned to be green, have a nature motif, or be made with animal furs
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Nadur loves the cycle of nature. He loves educating people on how death and decay are just as important to the cycle a=of life as growth and prosperity. Nadur loves to burn the forest and trim back over growth in order to let life flourish or to enrich the soil so that a new generation of life can have a suitable nutrients to grow fast and strong. Nadur also loves travel and to see new places and meet new people as they all fit into the cycle of life and the interconnectedness that is life on Golarion.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Undead, Outsiders, and Aberrations. They are unnatural and have no place on Golarion, they disrupt the cycle, and they are abominations
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? A mentor? A father figure? Maybe a rival?
Nadur is a bit of a loner but enjoys seeing companions from previous adventures. Nadur relies on thinking outside the box to solve his problems and often approaches situations in a way that his traveling companions find peculiar and leaves them scratching their head (but it works). Nadur does have strong ties to anyone or anything. When he joined the Pathfinder Society he had strong ties to his druidic circle but since being with the pathfinders for so long that it less true then it originally was. Nadur has a particular hatred for Grandmaster Torch and would love to turn him into mulch.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Nadur is a human but doesn't consider his race on a regular basis...whether he lives 70 years or 750 years, he will eventually die and be absorbed back into the ground and reenter the cycle of life as nutrients for plants which will nourish future animals. Nadur only considers things from his own point of view on what is important and what is not and that point of view is based on his often harsh and unique view on how the cycle of life works.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Extra planar travel or being killed on another plane
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Elk skull helm
Keirine, Human Rogue |
1. I suppose I was living a life of self-destruction in Goka. Amara took me out of all that. Put all my pent up energy to good use, and allowed me to really pursue the Legend I was born to be, heheh kehrk!
2. Kuro Po. These Inner Sea folks keep spelling Po as 'Poe', couldn't say why.
3. Parents were refugees from Kwan Lai. I don't like the sound of that place, so I spent most of my childhood in the slums of Goka. It's a tough place but wonderful if you're born with wits, kehrk. If you are enterprising, even a wasteland can make you rich!
4. I am always in red robes, with a flashy cap filled with feathers. If I am expected to meet with the local nobility I will change into a silken yukata, although this restricts my movements.
5. Mischief and dancing! Sword fights with strange creatures with nefarious plots. Using my magic to help my friends and confound my enemies. Learning new curse words in various languages *cackle*
6. Bullies. Tyrants and those that exploit people under them, particularly when their exploitation is racially motivated. In-fighting. Authority figures with big swords. Harpies, yuck.
7. Too many to list. Grok the armoured hulk, for hiding behind and being lectured at. Skerek the mage, as he has the strangest abilities to watch. Rigby the halfling is kin to me, although he never wants to swordfight.
8. I am kinder than most Tengu. I'll cut your purse but not your stomach. Amara Li tells me my hands are softer too, hrrrm. I am not a bloodthirsty bird, but my voacabulary seems to suggest that I am. Perhaps I have the soul of a halfling in the body of a tengu? I shall ask the Samsarans.
9. AXE BEAKS. THE WORST. Also, Pengalangs keep me up at night, although they are mildly less evil than axebeaks.
10. My lovely adamantine sword, Shimmerquill. It's worth more than my Shadow Lodge life insurance policy! It has beautiful rubies, and innate carvings and a polished scabbard and a nice tight grip and it goes 'swoosh' when I do my fighting dancing. It's essentially the...

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Well, after the bar I was working at burned down, I decided to broaden my horizons a bit. Some of my regulars were in tight with the Sczarni folks, and they said I might do well to join up. Make some extra coin, maybe discover some even more powerful cocktails.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Yes, but my older brother Dumbledwarf keeps getting mistaken for some celebrity.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Grew up right here in Absalom, although I've never been much for politics.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
About four and a half feet tall, 200 lbs, I've got scruffy red hair and ruddish skin. I have a large belt across my stomach, with dozens of bags and potions hanging off of it. A couple of bandoliers are strapped across my chest as well. Slung across my back, you can see what used to be my favorite bar stool, hammered and twisted into an earth breaker. I smell terrible, drool slightly, and am obviously drunk.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Cayden Cailen, bar fights, a free round of drinks, watching my enemies burn to death
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Enlarged barbarians and arena combat. Particularly the two combined.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Enlarged barbarians and arena combat. Particularly the two combined.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My lab. Alchemist's fire, anyone?

Go crazy guys! Really interesting in hearing how people tackle these.
Amroth, son of Amdir |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
My father, Amdir, is a diplomat and ambassador for the Elven Kingdom of Kyonin. In order that I may one day follow in his footsteps, he suggested that I spend several decades living amongst the human kingdoms, learning their ways and culture. Though he does not approve of the adventuring lifestyle, I was able to convince him that associating with the Pathfinder Society was an excellent opportunity to interact with a variety of humans, from many different lands.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
The human scribe, Tolkein, does make mention of an elven king by the name of Amroth. Oddly, his better known works focus on the adventures of halflings and dwarves - I have no idea why such tales are popular among humans!
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
My childhood was spent in Kyonin, receiving a proper elven education. As I grew older, I began to interact diplomats and nobles, colleagues of my father, so I necessarily learned diplomacy and etiquette.
When I ventured into the human lands, I settled in Oppara, in Taldor. Taldor is a land with a long, proud history (though not so long and proud as the elves) and they respect nobility and proper decorum. They don’t consort with devils, or try to put too much power in the hands of the uneducated masses. Although their music and theater have some unusual human quirks, I find them reasonably enjoyable.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing?
I have shoulder length blond hair, worn in a traditional elven style. I am of average height, and slim build, which allows me to move gracefully. Whether one is dancing the gavotte, fighting a duel, or pursuing a miscreant through the sewers, I believe that proper footwork and balance are the keys to success. As for my outfit, I try to keep up with the latest fashions of Taldor, but these things change so quickly amongst humans. If I believe there is some danger of being stabbed, bitten or otherwise injured, I wear a chain shirt to avoid getting blood on my clothes.
5. What do you love?
Good culture - music, poetry, theater and dance. As I said before, I find that the Taldans surpass most other humans in these areas, but some days I long to return to my true home in Kyonin.
6. What do you hate?
While I find the life of a Pathfinder to be thrilling, it makes it difficult to maintain my wardrobe. There are too many opportunities to soil my clothes with various oozes, alchemical mixtures, and blood (sometimes even my own). Of course, my magical talents allow me to remove the obvious stains, but I’ll always know that there was an acid splash on the left sleeve of that shirt.
Also I am growing to hate the undead. On two different occasions, I have attended social events on behalf of the Pathfinder Society, only to see zombies running amok and threatening those around me.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking?
The human wizard, Cascade, has impressed me with his knowledge, and he speaks passable elven. Many of the other Pathfinders that I have dealt with are murderous goons, who prefer to stab first and think second.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race?
I realize that, as one of the older, wiser races I must set a good example for those who age and die quickly, before they are able to develop proper cultural tastes. I know that some of my human companions in the Pathfinder Society believe that elves are aloof and snobbish, but if they lived to be one hundred years old, then they would understand, I'm sure.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I hope that I am able to strike the right balance, gaining a deeper understanding of humans, without picking up some of their more odious habits. I hope that when I return to Kyonin I can prove to be a worthy heir to my father’s legacy, and not a disappointment to my family.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
When I left Kyonin, my mother gave me a book of elven poetry that she had written, herself. When I am feeling dispirited, and overwhelmed by the violent thugs that seem so prevalent amongst the Pathfinders, it reminds me of who I am, and where I come from.
Kaihalulu |
I have done this for several of my PFS characters, but this is the first time I've tried to use the questions to flesh out an un-played character (she only has 1 xp from We Be Goblins).
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Let me count the ways that the Pathfinder Society is better than sailing with third-rate pirate captains out of Drenchport. First, if the Pathfinders send you out on a ship, it probably won’t fall apart half way there. And the previous owner won’t come after you because you stole it. Second, despite the stereotypes, Pathfinders are less murderous thugs than my previous employers. Also, they are less likely to be drunk on the job and trying to feel up any female member of the crew who comes within reach. I could go on . . .
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Kaihalulu means “roaring sea” in Aquan. (Ok, it’s actually Hawaiian, but in my mind Hawaiian and Aquan are probably pretty similar.)
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I was born and raised in The Shackles; I may be the only person from Drenchport who actually likes the weather there. I looked up to the Master of Gales as a hero, and aspired to follow in his footsteps but, unfortunately, he wanted nothing to do with me until I proved my worth sailing with lesser pirate captains. Lesser pirate captains tend to be drunk idiots . . .
Living among a significant population of tengu, I did learn about Hei Feng, the Duke of Thunder, whom I have adopted as my patron deity.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing?
It doesn’t take more than a quick look at me to realize that I am not human. My skin is a deep green, like the color of the ocean during a storm, and my hair is the color of sea foam. I tend to wear as little clothing as I can get away with, in case I end up in the water. I hope the Venture Captains will consider my request not to be sent on missions to Irrisen or other northern climes.
5. What do you love?
To stand on the deck of a ship on the rolling ocean, to stand in the middle of a storm, preferably both at the same time. Perhaps it is a morbid thought, but when I am old I intend to sail into the Eye of Abendego rather than dying in my bed.
6. What do you hate?
People who are afraid to take risks. Life is a storm, and the world is full of chaos. If you wait for calm seas then you will sit in the harbor until your hair turns grey and your teeth fall out!
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking?
I am new to the Pathfinders, but from my time on various pirate crews, I have learned that it is good to have several stout allies, with swords, between me and those that wish to cause me harm.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race?
I suppose that being an undine has given me a predisposition to love the water, or maybe I just got that from my father, who is a pearl diver. I haven’t really been around many other undines, either growing up or in the Pathfinder Society, so I tend to stand out just by being the only one.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I will not go quietly into the night! If I look back, at the end of my life, and it was calm and boring, then I will consider that to be a great failure.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Life is about experiences, not things. You couldn’t take the things I love most away from me unless you locked me up in a dungeon where I could not see the sky.
Rukk |
5 people marked this as a favorite. |
The following interview with Jarl Rukk, the newest Linnorm King, was transcribed and translated from orcish to Taldan for publication in the latest Chronicle The Pathfinder and legendary scribe Tassel Packbearer sat down with the Jarl in his great hall in the Stormspear Mountains.
Let's get started with an easy one. Why are you a Pathfinder?
When I was younger, it was only the glory of battle that fueled me. Bravado drove me into many battles, even within others in my clan, and it wasn't long before I no longer had a place with them. Rather than slay me, I was ambushed in the night and abandoned the day after. My feet carried me to the Kellid lands, and it was there I met a strange traveler.
He was Taldan and had the look of someone who had seen all the world had to offer, his name was Cassius Hale. Over the next few months he tempered my fury, and told me of the greater world. The druid came from a place called Absalom, and was a Captain of an organization of misfits called the Pathfinders. He told me that wayward souls from all reaches of the Inner Sea live there, and if I so chose, there would be a place for me at the City at the Center of the World. I thanked him for this chance and headed south, to make a name for myself.
Speaking of your name, how did you come by it? Does it mean anything?
I have forgotten my orcish name, I will not bear the name of the cowards that rejected me, the Jarl spits on the ground with this proclamation. Until I met Cassius, I did not need a one. When Cassius asked for mine, I told him I was in need of a new one. He called me Rukk, after the bird that is wise and free, and flys high enough to see the world for what it is. Sitting before the Jarl, and noting the massive linnorm head hanging on the wall behind him, I decided it unwise to correct his spelling of 'Rook,' the small ravenlike birds common to the Inner Sea.
You mentioned travelling as a youth, what nation did you start your journey in? How did this nation influence you?
I was born into the Icetusk clan in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords. It is a harsh, unforgiving land that made me into the King you now see before you. I would thank my clan for abandoning me were I to see them once more, but I heard that with the expansion of the Worldwound last year much of the northern hinterlands were lost to demons. I do not know if they now survive. Jarl Rukk looks past me, to the doors of his great hall for a moment, as if expecting them to arrive at any moment. The moment passes, and he presses me to continue my questions.
I notice you carry many trophies on your person, where are they all from?
Hah! There are too many to count. I will tell you of my favorite ones though, since you asked. The Jarl wears a ceremonial white cape, made from the fur of a wolf. I took this hide from a wolf that walked in the form of a woman. It was during my campaign into Irrisen, the lands of the witches. I challenged her to solitary combat and she agreed. I honor her death and our battle with this fur. Aside from the cape, Rukk bears countless scars, minor tribal tattoos, and straps of leather that serves as clothing. Only a kilt and fur-lined boots cover his skin in any significant fashion. A single golden loop hangs from a string around his neck. He lifts the ring and addresses it. This is from my ex-wife, Eliandra. It is there to remind me that trust given unwisely is easily broken, and, the Jarl let's loose a wry smile, that people are capable of change.
Speaking sentimentally, is there anyone that you love now?
Not as you suggest, no. But I am blessed by my daughter, Raine. She does her father proud.
Is she the daughter of your first marriage?
No, no. I first met Raine when she was five, being held for torture or death by a group of trolls during my second campaign into Irrisen. My team and I freed her and the other children. While the rest huddled for safety in the bosoms of my companions, she picked up the sword of her former captor and delivered the final blow to his cowering body. I took her home with me, and raised her in these wilds. Although she has much to learn, I hope that one day she will travel with the Pathfinders and, when the day comes that I leave this world, take up my throne here.
On the other end of things, what do you hate more than anything?
Deceit. Lying and double-talk are agents of mistrust and have no place among honest people. The Jarl spits with contempt. Those not genuine in my presence rarely make the same mistake twice.
You have had a storied career as a Pathfinder, but surely no Pathfinder travels alone. Which among your companions has had the most effect on your success.
There have been dozens, to be sure, but there are a few I would like to name. First is Salurial, my right hand. Honest to a fault and braver than I. Given strength by the gods, he is a crusader without equal. I've heard his exploits extolled far and wide, even to the lands of Tian Xia and beyond. Second is my herald, Jonas. He carries the banner of House Rukk and was at my side through the Society's darkest hour. Jarl Rukk frowns, clearly referring to the events now known as the "Eyes of the Ten Incident." I know of no one better to support me and other Pathfinders to come than Jonas Vividsun. Lastly is Eliandra Azucar. Although the separation was difficult, I cannot deny that her knowledge of Absalom is unsurpassed, as is her understanding of politics there. A master of the blade and stealth, the Society is lucky to have her.
You have been judged by your orc heritage, yet you regarded them earlier in not so kind terms. Would you like to expand?
Gladly. As a "mutt-race," as some have said, I've been disregarded and mistreated my entire life, even by members of the Society. Yet I have overcome. To others that share my burden, to those that are different, let me tell you know that what you are born is does not define what you are capable of. If you wish glory and honor, you need but claim it for yourself. To do otherwise only enforces the stereotypes that others use to keep us in check. Those that slander want us to fail because they are afraid of what we can achieve. So I say to you now—make them afraid and claim your own throne! Jarl Rukk stands and roars in my direction, crushing the wine glass as he makes a fist. The outburst echoes through the vast chamber and it takes him a few seconds to calm down. He then quickly apologizes for letting his anger get the best of him and sits back down, pulling shards from his hand as we continue. I do not notice any blood.
I notice the next question asks about his fears and phobias, but given our encounter so far, I think it wise to skip it and move on.
We finish these interviews by asking what your prized possession is. Given this hall alone, I imagine the decision is a tough one.
Hardly. The half-orc snorts, My daughter is the only thing that matters in the end. Given enough time, the giants will return and tear down these walls. My banner will fall and the name on it will be forgotten. Even this Chronicle you are writing for will cease to exist. But my teachings will live on in my child. If I have raised her well, she will do the same for her children. This is the greatest treasure I have.
Our interview ends with the Jarl thanking me for my time and walking me to the front doors. He offers me some furs for the long journey back to Absalom, and assigns a couple of guards to accompany me down from the Mountains and out of giant territory. Given the warmth of his hall, I'm sorry to see it fade out of view as we descend.

. And the previous owner won’t come after you because you stole it. Second, despite the stereotypes, Pathfinders are less murderous thugs than my previous employers. Also, they are less likely to be drunk on the job and trying to feel up any female member of the crew who comes within reach
Oh you poor thing. Who on earth have you been working with!
Linus the Harrower |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
To be honest, I joined for adventure, but I think I haven't left yet because I owe too many people by now. I find it fun though. I get to meet many very pretty girls, make a little money on the side, and experience things I could never experience in my books. After all, I had lived too long on the road in a caravan to ever settle down. Maybe I might stop after I've lost all my momentum and re-payed all my debts.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Earth? Is that what they are calling the Plane of Earth now? I know they've been shortening things lately, but that's a little silly. Well, I don't think so, unless someone there is named Zorc- I mean... Linus. My name is Linus.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Ha! Nation... I'm sorry, I'm sorry. No, I can't actually answer this one. I didn't grow up in any one nation. Me and my clan traveled all of the Inner Sea in a caravan, along with my entire extended family. What? No, not in one caravan, there were like 10 or 12.
4. What do you look like? What are you wearing? How does this vary when you're stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or glittering cities?
I have a darker complexion, normal for my people, as well as black hair. I keep my curly hair tied up underneath my blue Kapenia (Some people call it simply a "Varisian Scarf"). I tore the sleeves off my vest and hemmed it, so I don't have to deal with people asking "Do you have something up your sleeve?". I must say, it doesn't change much, as I don't have much to choose from, but I do enjoy wearing some nice jewelry in more upscaled cities. That way, when people try to rob me, I rob THEM.
5. What do you love?
Pocket, my Mourning Dove (It's just a Thrush, but I don't have a Thrush stuffed animal. But I do have a Mourning Dove). She loves gold just as much as me, which is why I call her pocket. I could be reading the fortune of some rich little Duke's daughter, while Pocket goes around back and takes the most valuable coins. She's smart like that. I also really love my Kapenia. It was gifted to me by my clan when I came of age, and it, along with my harrow cards, is a reminder of who I am.
6. What do you hate?
Ignorant people! Oh my goodness. I might not know everything, but if something's unclear, I'll ask. I won't parade around town proclaiming I'm the best just because I think I know the most. Sure, they might be easy to steal from, but when they become rulers, I think it's best to steal what they won't notice and use the money to help the people. Yup...
7. Which other Pathfinders (PC) do you rely on for teamwork, survival, and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I'm afraid I don't know too many people. I try not to get too attached, because you never know who will turn on you. I do know this one Halfling Ninja, but I don't think I caught his name. The cards said that I should meet him again, though. I wonder when...
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans?
Humans are so diverse, I think it'd be hard to say. Well, I have to admit that most people I know try to embrace new ideas and some people even rebel against the older traditions. While it's not always great to FULLY embrace the old traditions, it's not okay to rebel against them. Also, I know a lot of people are unnerved by Half-Orcs, but one of my cousins was actually a half-orc, and even though my uncle was a little sporadic, my aunt really did love him. I think that hatred against mutt breeds is one tradition we can get rid of.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Cheliaxians unnerve me to no end. I know the genocide officially ended many years ago, but you never know what those guys have going on in their sewers and basements. I also really hate Stirges. Those little bloodsuckers LOVE me, but it is not a mutual feeling. Also, being naked in public. Wow, look at my arm. Goosebumps.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Ooh... Tough call. I would have to say my Harrow cards. I love my Kapenia, but it's not as functional as my Harrow cards. With those, I can break the fabric of time and reality itself to glimpse into the future. Plus, you couldn't even guess how much gold I've earned playing towers. Okay, I'll admit, I've probably lost more than I've earned, but at least I lost money the fun way.
Miyamoto Shadowfire |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I seek to serve as a judge of the unjust, whether they be evil or pure of heart, as even the most noble of paladin can be unjust at times, whether by design or by mistake. The Pathfinder Society gives me the greatest chance of doing so.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
My name is Miyamoto Shadowfire. My given name comes from the surname of my mother’s family, who were viciously by a member of the Black Dynamo when she was a child. My given name is the name taken by my father when he came of age, given to himself, as he never knew his parents.
(ooc: Yes, Miyamoto is ripped from Earth history. Miyamoto Mushai [excuse spelling] was a famous Ronin centuries ago in Japan. Whether this character’s grandfather was that same Miyamoto is up to yall to decide :P)
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I believe I was born in Varisia, however as my parents were part of a traveling mercenary troop, I have been over much of the continent, and therefore have never called a nation home long enough for it to influence me. The continent of my ancestors from many generations back has had more influence on me than any other nation: Tian Xia.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Appearance wise, I keep my hair long and shaggy, and often have a day’s worth of stubble on my chin. This is not due to a lack of discipline as some would suspect, but both a way to symbolize my freedom as a Ronin, and give others something to make a false assumption based on. As every false assumption you make is one more advantage I have. As for what I am wearing, when in a situation that does not call for armor I tend to wear a loose robe stylized with my personal insignia – a blazing sword striking down from the heavens – over a tight fitting coat and trousers. When armor is required, currently I wear a set of four mirror armor. However, I am saving up my gold in order to commission a set of o-yoroi crafted for me. However, no matter what, I do not wear a helmet. It is a point of personal pride to meet my enemy with head uncovered and unprotected against blows.
(ooc: apologies if that personal insignia is similar to someone else’s or a diety of PFS, I am new to the PFS pantheon. Please point it out if you notice a similarity, as I don’t want it to be mistaken for the symbol of a deity, this character is purposefully atheist, as he worships an ideal)
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
I love my beautiful wife, Iryani, and seeing a great injustice righted, or a just man receive the reward of his actions.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
I hate all who would do evil or commit injustices purely for spite or their own personal gain, especially against the innocent or helpless.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I am new to the society, so I have unfortunately yet to make close bonds with fellow society members. However, my time with mercenaries has taught me the benefits of having a strong team to lean on, and cover your weaknesses while you cover theirs.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
While I am a human, my father is an Ifrit, my mother is an Aasimar, and I was raised (and served) in a merc troop consisting of a multitude of races, including drow, half-orcs, and even a skinwalker at one point. Because of this, I am free from many of the stereotypes of humans, both that my kind typically place on other races, and that other races typically place on us. I do my best to always act as a kind and just person, and never really factor my or other’s races into my actions.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I am afraid of allowing an injustice to go unpunished, and so allowing a greater injustice to follow because of my inaction, even if there was nothing I could do.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My masterwork Katana. It has been passed down in my family, originally belonging to my grandfather, it was passed down to my mother and now has been passed down to me.
(ooc: He has the signature moves trait, allowing him to start with one masterwork item worth 900 gp or less, so I had it be the Katana passed down through his family)

Duredhella Blakros aka Mantiss |
Interviewee is a comely Blonde Human female wearing a fairly revealing dancers outfit carrying two feathers and appears without any protective gear, weapons, equipment or identifying jewelry speaking in clear unaccented Common with origin impossible to identify.
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I'm not. I am detailed as a liaison to Pathfinder Society from my parent organization. However, I am accepted and treated as a Pathfinder.
Red Mantis Assassin via Gencon 2014 auction boon
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
For me, names are like clothes, easily shed or changed. Within the society I go by my birth family name Duredhella Blakros.
Blakros daughter via Chronicle PP purchase
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up all over without knowing a heritage. Eventually I wound up on Mediogalti Island. I can attribute everything I am to Mediogalti and the Crimson Citadel.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Nothing is ever as it seems. You see me as I appear to everyone in any location, from Irrisen to Tien Xia. Why would I need anything more? I am an interested observer and liaison.
Serious amounts of disguise via layered magics, skills and abilities covering formfitting red and black magic spiked mithral armor wearing a red mantis mask (via scenario chronicle) carrying 2 keen sawtooth sabres which appear to be feathers
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
The surprised look of gropers, molesters and aggressive males when they pull back bloodied limbs after forcing themselves on a 'helpless' female.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
The sight of animals, eidelons or familiars who act as the primary pathfinders while dragging around a non-involved drone. These are almost as bad as the Aspis Consortium (pulls out a handful of bloodied, scratched Bronze and Silver badges from 'nowhere').
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I rely on them all - many for the entertainment of watching them in action. I do try to follow the basic directions from my sponsor in the Society, Aram Zey, to help keep exploring Pathfinders alive.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Race?? I can and have appeared as many different races. Each has its place.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Failure. My parent organization has rather rigid views on failure.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My continued membership in my parent organization.
Quenly |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
For knowledge. For experience. To connect with other Lorekeepers across Golarion. To facilitate trade.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
I am Quenly. I have a full elven name of course, but it has little meaning outside Kyonin. Quenly shall suffice.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I lived the first 119 years of my life in Kyonin. I was an exemplary elven warrior, skilled with bow and sword. Then the ancient Gods of my people called to me; they taught me many secrets. I knew then that I must leave the forest and seek out other elves across the world, to gather their histories and preserve them.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Like any other elven warrior I am tall, graceful, and swift of limb. I usually wear Osirion style desert robes. I spend much of my time in Osirion or wider Garund. The Gods have taught me how to adapt to hotter climes. When travelling elsewhere I adopt more suitable clothing, if necessary, but I have grown very comfortable with Osirian dress.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Learning; uncovering lore thought lost; the desert.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Ignorance; creatures or persons who would kill first and ask questions later.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I have travelled with many fellow Pathfinders. One or two stand out in my recollection. I found a particular flag-waving bard to be an engaging travelling companion. A certain Lady Fiona Blakros has proven herself both capable and courageous - between the two of us we are able to deprive foes of both sight and hearing, ending battles quickly and with minimum bloodshed.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I am a Lorekeeper of the elven peoples. I keep our histories and the secrets of the Gods. An elf's very essence derives from the Gods - all flesh is an illusion. I can tell you no more, for you are not an elf.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I fear to die when there is so much still to learn. Though my essence will rejoin the Gods in the Void I do not want to pass too soon, nor do I want to fail in the eyes of the Gods. I fear their judgement.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
The secrets of the Gods are mine.
Doctor Drokk |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I needed money to rebuild my laboratory. Turns out the society is also good for practical experimentation and exchange of knowledge. Think I'll stay.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
I am Doctor Drokk.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in Absolom. Granted, I spent a lot of my time in the gutters scavenging, or fetching and carrying for my parents. Can't say it was easy. But I learned things, and it made me strong.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Ugh. Really? If I take off this armour you'll likely lose your dinner. I'm not pretty. I've got scars from experiments gone awry. I've got scars from battles. I've got scars my parents gave me - for luck if you can believe that! I've got a hunchback and a tumour that walks. It's best I stay in my full plate and keep my cloaks on.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Science! Experimentation. The satisfaction of proving a theorem or hypothesis. Oh, and fire. Fire is good.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
People who think they can do whatever they want, especially if they think that way because they're pretty. People who fawn over pretty people. My stupid dead parents for blowing up the lab and leaving me on my own.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I learned to rely on myself. Maybe in time I'll get to know a few Pathfinders well enough to call them friends.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I'm a half-orc. I was raised by half-orcs in Absolom. My idiot parents blew themselves and their laboratory up, but I'm not so dumb as to assume that all half-orcs are that stupid. I know all half-orcs aren't alchemists.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I've been through enough that cuts and burns hold no fear for me. It's not like I could lose my good looks. I do not want to go back to the gutters though.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
This here custom masterwork spiked full plate. With hatches for Nigel. Pushes hairless tumour that vaguely resembles a monkey back inside armour.

I is round everywhere a girl should be. I likes the dresses that show off my pretties - never found dresses in Belkzen. When I is pathfinding I wears some armour. I is not silly.

All the beyootiful creatures in the world! And the Holy Mama! And Angels!! I speaks Angel Words.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
All the bad creatures and bad peoples what I has to punish. Anything that eats babies. Grrrr.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
Oooh, I has made so many friends! I has got a little nomey girlfriend who is a paladin and I saved her and now she is resting. I likes pathfinding with girlfriends, except when they just talk all the time like old human ladies. We is pathfinders, not old ladies!
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I is a half-orc from Belkzen. I is a priestess of the Holy Mama, and a midwife, and a pathfinder. I chops and I punishes. I says my prayers. What does other halfs-orcs think? I don't know. That's their problem. If yous don't agree with me that's your problem. I chops and I punishes. Blessed be the Mama.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Pffft. I is a priestess of the Holy Mama from Belkzen. Pathfinding is easy.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
I has got lots of treasures. I has just got a holy prayer bead - very pretty!

apbrake |
Kit, male human gunslinger
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I joined the Pathfinders to travel the world, just like I did with my parents when I was younger.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Kito “Kit” Faadi
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Katapesh. My parents were merchants in the great bazaars of Katapesh. It was a chaotic childhood full of many wonders and fascinating people from the farthest corners of the world. There was no end to the chaos. After seeing other cultures on our travels I realized there is a better way to do this. Surely there is a more civilized and lawful way to exist. It was on these trips that I found the church of Abadar and heard his call.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary
when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Tall and trim with coal Black hair. I Prefer the loose flowing robes typical of my home land. I will wear what I need to when the moment arises but prefer to use magical means to combat harsh and uncomfortable environments.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Seeing the world. There are so many new and fascinating cultures to explore. This was my greatest love as a child and still is to this day.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
I hate those who sow strife. To see others hurts only because you can infuriates me.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
After my parents died I began to make a name for myself. In Katapesh I worked for the Sword and Shield protecting the caravans. Not many stuck around the job long unless you knew what you were doing and If you knew what you were doing you didn’t stick around long. I never had a chance to get to close to my co-workers.
I’ve only been a pathfinder for little less than a year now and have only recently completed my confirmation. The nature of this job keeps me moving and supplied with new people to meet. I would not have it any other way.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Growing up in Katapesh you see many people of many races. All have money to spend and were to be treated as such. But life has changed my views on some. For one Gnolls, vicious and cruel are good for nothing but evil.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
After braving the harshest deserts Golarion has to offer not much scares me. Though I have traveled by boat many times I have never loved the sea. The very thought of being drug beneath the waves brings chills to my body. Of all the ways to die, drowning is not one I wish to explore.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My musket. It is last thing my parents bought. They purchased it while on a trip to Alkenstar. It was to be sold in the bazaars back home. They never made home, so I keep as a reminder to protect those who can’t protect themselves.

So you want to know my story? Sure no problem. Sit down. Hey Barkeep Two mugs of your finest ale for me and my new friend here. Before you take that first tasty refreshing sip, first we pay homage to Cayden Calien, thats right I am one one of his. Wasn't always like that but that that is part of the story so indulge me. Now as you can see I am half Elvish. Unlike most my family life was a good one. My father fell in love with my mother and moved with her to a human community. I feel sorry for him,not only does he have to deal with watching the love of his life wither and die way before he does but he also has to watch me and my brother do so also. Add to the fact my choice of profession makes it even harder on him.I try not to see him as often as I should, that makes it even harder on my mom. So I took up the Ranger life style hunting down the undead to start because of an outbreak of Zombies that tore up my home town , not much loss of life.Found out I was good at it. So I was on my own for a few years till I came to Absalom.City at the center of the world. Got recruited into the Society. Three years later came out with some new skills and purpose. Was still a focused and determined creature of habit, decided I wanted to work for the Libertys' Edge. They seemed to be what I most fit my outlook. Still though was just going through the motions. Then I meet this so called Cleric of Cayden”The Drunken God”. Was like no other Preacher I ever met before. More I listened the more I liked what he was saying. Plus,he practiced what he preached. So now As you can see if you look closely at my jacket is the tankard symbol and on my right shoulder is the epulat of an Eagle Knight. Yeah,I don't go half way in. I figure if I am going to go after the slavers and oppressors of the world I might as well give them some warning I am coming for them. I am not just some killing machine yah know, I seen those guys. They burn out fast and don't last long. Me I also am a carpenter. Saving up for a shop. Right now besides doing projects for myself I help out at the Churches orphanages and other people who need help. Heck,If I can take ten minutes and make a little kid who lost everything a toy that takes his mind off of his situation why would I not do it? But,here is the thing that I even don't believe. Other morning after a real good and raucous Celebration in honor of Cayden I wake up and there is this guy sitting at the end of my bed. Now that has happened before and it usually winds up with me either paying for damages or being called in for a mission. The thing is it was not really a man. The features where too perfect. Lines too straight. Plus,he was shining. He starts talking to me in a language that I know but I thought was a made up one by my mothers' side of the family. He tells me no it is a real one called Celestial. The language of the higher beings. At this point I am thinking someone slipped some kind of Alchemical crap in my ale last night. He assures me that this is real and that because I have changed my life towards helping others and being open about it Cayden has decided to “gift” me. Back in you ancestors past you family has some celestial blood in you and he is activating it. Crap,my maternal grandmother wasn't just making up stories to impress my father and his kin! So from now on I have some special abilities and powers to use in my fight against the “bad” guys. All I have to do he says is Drink this, as he extends his hand to me a flagon appears in his hand. I take it and with a silent prayer drink it. Best tasting ale ever. I feel stronger ,faster. He then explains what is new about me and what I can do. See if it works.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I heard that my big sister might be alive and working as a Pathfinder. i joined up to look for her. I have seen her for 18 years, not since ... we were both orphaned in the goblinblood wars.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Yes. (Natural sciences are fair game though.)
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Mostly Andoran. My new mother was an Eagle Knight who adopted me during the war. She made sure I got a solid education in philosophy, warfare, natural sciences, and the inalienable rights of man.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I'm dressed for Master Farabellus's review in half an hour. That means my best tabbard, the blue one, over my chain shirt, hard-wearing trousers, leather gloves and boots. It doesn't change much if I'm expecting battle. Out of battle, it's sundress and bonnet this time of year.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Fine clothes, fine wine, Alysande Benedict's treatises on the nature of liberty and rights of man.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Goblins. Vile things killed my original parents and drove me apart from my sister and brother. Also spiders.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
Just joined up, none yet. (3rd-level GM credit baby.)
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Well, my friends to tell me I have the sometimes reckless fearlessness of Halflings down. In time Chaldira will take away my fear completely (Paladin). I can only imagine what sort of challenged I'll seek out then.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Spiders, but see my last answer.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My holy symbol. Sure it's just carved wood, but my original father carved it before he died. It's the only thing of my original family I have.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Stockholm Syndrome. I was happily living in this nice Osirian tomb when Pathfinders burst in and ransacked the place, and took me to Absalom as a curiosum.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Methu-suphis
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
We had this really nice tomb, dark and quiet. There were some undead in the other rooms but they were happy to stay in their corner. Now the place is a tourist trap.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Night must inevitably follow day, and that's when a dark cloak will do well to hide me from prying eyes. During the accursed tenure of the sun in the sky I'll thank you not to invade my privacy. Horrendous scars you say? Tssk, you're such a hypocrite. You people use colours to decorate yourself!
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
I have to admit, travelling around as a Pathfinder, I've had the opportunity to see some nice odd places. I've met others of my race on the distant continent of Tian Xia, I've negotiated with dragons (even scarier than humans) and perused exotic spellcraft.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
I like darkness levels. Darkness shelters us from creepy day-dwellers. The world is full of scary things: loud clumsy humans trampling everything in their path, eagles swooping down to catch you, tigers pouncing.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
There was this nice cleric of Gozreh - seaweed in his beard, and I could smell a lot of other shrubs on him too. Nice slow-moving guy, easy to hide behind.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I'm different because obviously I'm not most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu or even any of them. We came to this world during the Age of Darkness when it was a nice place, without this terrible fire in the sky all the time.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Fast movements, loud sudden noises. And lately, heads that fly away from bodies to bite you.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My spellbook, obviously. And my familiar, Ossius.
Vayu Dhatri |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Been a year or two, rummaging the brainbox a bit...ah, yes. Three years ago one Seeker, capitano Cantige, killed my former employer, Alba Ironbelly, in a captains' duel. Us crewmembers, we got a choice: Join or learn Aquan. I got pretty...familiar with mr Cantige and he field-commissioned me.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
I'm named for the late lord Arkona. Didn't feel too glorious the way he ended up, so picked this name from a Vudran weapons merchant moonlighting in Riddleport. Told me it was Iroran. As for Dhatri, go to Korvosa and ask for a Dhatri and they'll ask you if you want a Midland or Dockside one. Big family.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Born in Korvosa. Spent some time in Veldraine and Riddleport. Korvosa was cutthroat. That's the best word for it. Stiffled by bureocracy too. Guess only the former rubbed in.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Yeah yeah, the hair's not practical, but wearing it long makes the skin look midnite shade. It's a show, you know. You should see the getup I sport to make up for it. Mithral, Kassen oak and hippogryph mane. Trust me, pay up. There's no crying about armor expenses. Beyond the call though, wear short, wear it tight. Let them see the sights. Easier to run in it too. I like wool myself. If you need to go undercover, wet wool makes you all but invisible in the crowd.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Why? I'm in this for them. The glitter from sunken ruins and the vista from on top of a monkey tree. Less of that these days, sad to say. For a year, I've faced next to naught but urban combat. Yestermonth, while cutting down a scorpion the size of a coopershop in a sewer, I felt like a darn smuggler. Or a vermin hunter. Yes, treasure, experience and variety.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Chels are not so bad out of their native environs. Met a Henderthane in Almas a few months ago. Decent folk. But imperialists are scum. Slavers are worse than scum. Devils top that list. Besides that damned trinity, I detest the mountains. Cold aches, stale food and massive predators.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
Ah, my captain. Vile, fierce captain. Taught me next to nothing, but showed me what an agent could achieve, given time.
On the field, I trust Ronit the fearful and Isfahan the feared!
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
"Fart elves". Imagine. I was called one once. Windy, frail skulks who trail other races like a bad smell. Make no mistake, that description fits many of us. I've often wondered whose get my blood is. Some residue of a belker's clawed rending. Maybe a bound invisible stalker? Djinni have magical abilities, so fie on that. I'm always the first to bloody my hands anyway.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Freezing to death. I've seen what ice magic can do and its popularity worries me. May I never touch Irriseni soil.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
See this board of wood? See the leatherwork? It's from a small town called Kassen. Yes, grave goods, but given, not taken. This shield is death memento. Not everyone survives the path. Then there's the skullcap. I had it made by a dwarf carver from a leucrotta. Pesky crapstain almost ended us in the Jalmerani veldt.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
"The Pathfinder Society offers wonderful environment to practice my craft, free of the biases of my homeland. I'm sure I could garner no small volume of respect, but you know how it goes. The Inquisitors of Asmodeus are always looking over your shoulder and it makes a person uncomfortable."
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
"I do have my own name and my family's surname, but that shall remain my business, for the sake of their protection. Our name has a some clout behind it, and joining a group with the kind of reputation that the Society garners can complicate things."
"Pfft! That's no fun! His name is-"
"Navia, Hush."
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
"I'm sure you've figured it out by now. I hail from the nation of Cheliax. A grand place, really. If you don't mind stepping in line. I'll say that it serves as a grand reminder that each man serves in one way or another, be it a literal master or their own compulsions. I'd say that the homeland has taught me that my gifts are not to be wasted, and that privacy is a precious commodity."
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Xallis and Navia appear to be dressed for travel and extravagance, respectively.
"Pardon the frumpy attire. I maintain a proper wardrobe, rest assured, but the Society's had me on the road for quite a while. It's comfortable, if nothing else."
5. What do you love?
"Mostly the sound of his own voice. Besides that? His parents, his adorable little 'fortune,' and getting to show off in missions."
"Not including yourself on the list?"
"Everybody loves me! I figured it would be redundant."
6. What do you hate?
"Honestly? Being stabbed. Or mangled. Or pummeled. But to be more specific? The unfortunate turns of events and the tactical hiccups that lead to such things. If only more beings of this world would simply resort to diplomacy."
"Isn't this why you gave me all of these claws?"
7. Which other Pathfinders do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
"Honestly? It's a sort of 'take what you can get' situation with groups assembled by the Society. Aside from my other half here, I always have the denizens of the Planes on tap. I get my quite well, thank you."
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans?
"I've already spoken about growing up in Cheliax, so I won't repeat myself on those marks. Instead, I simply recommend you visit some time. You get used to seeing people in chains after a while."
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
"Oh, he'd never say it, but he's DEATHLY -hehehe- afraid of the undead. Squishy kinds that you can actually touch. Throw a rotting hulk at the guy and he runs like a scared child."
"I'll have you know that those... those things carry all manner of diseases!"
10. What is your most treasured possession?
"Who else? Navia here is my project, my canvas, and the only person I can completely trust on all matters."
"Boring answer! I mean, it's true, but it's boring. I'm sure once Mother helps you grow a nice new pair of wings it'll be love at first flight. Heh. Love at first flight. I didn't even mean that one!"

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
My father, Hrold, is chief of the Bear Pelt clan. He agreed to let me see the world and get a modern education if I promised to return when his time comes to an end. My father's brother is a Pathfinder, and so I joined the Society. I still have not learned what has become of my Uncle, though. Hmm...
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
I am Hjaarta. My name means "Courageous" in the language of my people. (Hallit)
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up under the open skies in the Realm of the Mammut Lords. Our land is most beautiful land in all of the Inner Sea region. Vast green valleys under deep blue skies. In the winter, we ski and sled and ride our mammuts. In the summer, we hunt the sabre-toothed cats that would prey upon our herds.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I have blond hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. In the North, we keep warm by wearing many furs. Here in the heat of Absolom, I don't wear my furs.
5. What do you love?
I love Nuk, my mammut. He is a good little mammut. He might not look little to you, but one day, Nuk will be a very big mammut. Maybe even biggest mammut in all of the lands. You can tell by looking at his feet; Nuk has very big feet for a mammut so young.
6. What do you hate?
I do not hate much. It is a bad feeling to hate. Erastil teaches us to let go of hate.
7. Which other Pathfinders do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
Anybody I travel with is my brother. And to anyone who is good, I am a sister. So is the teaching of Erastil.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I have not met many who are not human. Being a Pathfinder has allowed me to meet other races beyond what we have in the lands of the Mammut Lords.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I worry about Nuk. He is still a young mammut. When he gets older, he will be big and strong. Until then, I must watch out for my mammut, Nuk.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
This darkwood bow has been in my family for many generations. I am the only girl in my tribe strong enough to pull it. Since I have no brothers, my father gave it to me.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
In order to run my character, I needed to be a Pathfinder.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Yes, I pick a name that reflected the character’s demeanor.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
The nation my character is from reflects his nature and somewhat their looks, again to reflex my characters deeper motivation.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
So, ten questions was not enough you wanted to wrap three similar questions into one ‘eh? Armored, fighter type with Spiked chain, it does not changes in settings.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
A good fight.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Having my character response to uppity folks at a civil level.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
No, hence the PFS part of playing with different folks at different tables, I do have folks that annoy me when they try to dictate what my character(s) does.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Nation is more revealing than Race, when I do play a different race it normally my twist on it vice any ‘Racial’ stereotypes
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
No.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My pencil with eraser.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Why, I just love finding dangerous and cursed magical artifacts and the acquisition of such items for Zarta's basement. I'm not here to spy on anyone or further my private information network at all. That would be silly.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Ezekiel Dammerich Blakros, at your service. You may know my husband... oh, what was his name... Ah! Pendleton. That was it. Such a sweet boy.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
As far as you know, Ustalav.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Oh, I'm just your average, ordinary, dashing human gentleman with hints of Chelish ancestry with hair and clothes in the latest Ustalavic style.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Control. Knowledge - especially knowledge of powerful peoples' secrets. Prestige. And what I love most of all is knowing no one will find out what I really want before it's too late.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
True seeing is such a bother.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
Oh, I am such a fan of teamwork. Pathfinders are the best tools. I help them out too! Why, I once hooked a friend of mine up with a second pair of arms simply out of the goodness of my heart and not at all to further my research on the mutability of the human form.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Oh, as a perfectly ordinary human who is definitely not something else in disguise, I am extremely normal and ordinary in every way.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
That information is for me to know and you to worry about in the dark of night.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
I try not to become attached to such things. My mind is my greatest weapon, after all. But I am partial to my sword. It's such a beautiful creation.

9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
10. What is your most treasured possession?
1. I am a Pathfinder because my elders have commanded me to be a Pathfinder. For a dozen years I am to travel Golarion as a Field Agent, that is my Sojourn.
2. My name is Jetanmerun Tinunsae the Dragonkiller, you who speak the common, or earth, tongue may call me Jet.
3. I am a Kyonin Elf, my people are the stewards of Golarion. The elders say that the young races have matured and are ready to stand on their own, to address the Elves as equals. I will hold my own counsel on the wisdom, temperate and vision of the humans.
4. Jet is a tall slim elf and wears his Darkleaf Cloth armor as a second skin, not even removing it for sleep or ceremony. As climate and situation dictates the overwear changes from heavy fur layers in frozen north, to billowing silk in the southern deserts, to dark cloaks to conceal in Bloodcove.
5. The highest aspiration is a harmonious community. A party that works together for the greater good is a fine thing, a nation that works together is that much greater, and if all of golarion did...
6. The greedy and selfish behavior of races that have only left their mud huts and hides a few dozen generations ago. It takes only one defector to destabilize the prisoners dilemma, and these corrupting influences should be removed before they can interrupt the greater good.
7. Jet has met many Field Agents, and this is a problem, he is often teamed with a group of strangers and sent into a hostile territory. Jet is an archer, and a single gear in a well oiled machine, without assurance that the other gears will not fail he must take steps to ensure than the failings of a lesser race will not cost him his life in addition. Except for Kyra, she has proven her worth as an ally and steadfast combatant over and over again.
8. Elves are the elder and superior race, all others are children. They play as kings and nations like an elf child plays as princes and heros.
9. I will NOT die surrounded by weak strangers in a foreign land serving this morally dubious society. I WILL complete my sojourn and return to my people after this long exile.
10. See this longbow, it is made by the craftsmen of my homeland from Greenwood, strong and living it has been a steadfast companion that has never failed me. I received it from Ambrus Valsin after my second mission, my mentor sent it to the pathfinders to keep in trust until I had got my feet wet.
Rok the Wild |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Rok knows t-t-there is power in the earth. The Scarab S-s-sages know this too. Scarab Sages s-s-show Rok old ruins where the ley lines lie c-c-close to the sky.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Rok is smart like rock, as h-h-his clan says, but Rok does not understand. Oh the snake? This is Vin. Vin Diesel? R-r-rok does not understand.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Rok born in Five King Mountains, b-b-but Five Kings only a name. Rok grew up with the rocks and p-p-power in the earth.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
(OOC) Before you stands a very dirty dwarf wearing an equally filthy monk's toga, you suspect that for Rok washing is when a mission takes him into water, it rains. Surprisingly, he doesn't smell bad (for a field agent) just a strong mineral organic smell of old caves. You have never seen Rok in a different attire, frost, heat, sewers and noble manors, the same bare feat and monks robe.
The dirty, unarmored dwarf stands out among Pathfinders in that he does not stand out... He is passively standing in the back of the group, eyes on the ground, shoulders slumped, when told to do something, he complies without questions. A very unassuming fellow that is apparently devout of the typical dwarven contrariness.
Following the un-assuming dwarf is a massive constrictor snake. And where the dwarf is passive and dull, the snake's eyes are sharp, alert, and full of animal savagery.
5. What do you love?
Rok serves the p-p-power in the earth, there is might there and Rok is made mighty by it.
6. What do you hate?
Rok hates those who h-h-hurts his friends or binds the power in the earth. The ley-lines are rivers in t-t-the stone, those who dam the rivers will be p-p-punished.
7. Which other Pathfinders do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
Other p-p-pathfinders? Rok does not know. Vin likes Yoon, b-b-but Yoon tries to burn Rok's beard. Njal is mighty, but Njal kills for joy, Njal m-m-makes Rok uncomfortable. Crimson Falcon does not talk to Rok, Rok l-l-likes that, but does not think he looks like a falcon.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most
(OOC)This dwarf does break the mold when it comes to dwarven behavior, he appears to have zero confidence in himself, hell he barely has a sense of self. A dwarf without an ego, your see something new every day.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
A-a-afraid? I d-d-don't like crowds...
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Vin is my companion, hurt Vin and Rok will beat you dead with your l-l-leg.

Broke the questions down into a block of text.
Sraxx (Brawler) joined the Pathfinder Society because he was bored, didn't like the idea of robbing people, and had little else in life to work toward. It gave him a reason to fight, food, and gold and that was enough for him. He grew up as a street urchin in the city of Absolam, where the only way to survive was to fight. The streets taught him how to fight and how to see when a fight was brewing, as well as some minor knowledge about the type of things that one might run into around the city.
Physically, he is roughly 6' tall, has a couple of bulldozer scoops for hands, and wears light clothing under a beaten chain shirt. His body shows many of the scars he's accumulated throughout his career, though magical healing has hidden many more.
As an adult who has adjusted to life in the Society, Sraxx is a simple man, loving the thrill of a difficult fight and risking his life for riches and fame. On one outing he was asked to retrieve an artifact from a hall of Cayden Cailean. To get it, he competed in feats of strength and dexterity, winning them and his prize. The encounter was enough to draw him back and, over time, refined his love of the fight into something closer to the glory of overcoming a difficult challenge. Over the following months, this continued to evolve into a faith for the drunken god. Living for the glory of a good challenge, the freedom to seek them out through his time with the society, and bringing others to see the finer things in life, Sraxx is feeling pretty good.
Sraxx does not tend to anger easily, and responds to the cruelty of things like Chellaxian slavery with smarmy ridicule and a general disregard for the consequences of going against oppression where he sees it, something he fostered as he grew up in the streets of a large city. His patronage of Cayden Caylen has strengthened his dislike of anything that restricts or removes one's ability to make their own decisions, and tends to get himself into trouble, with a smile on his face, when it surfaces. This often expresses itself when Sraxx goes on Society requests with a Chellaxian summoner by the name of Rynest, harrassing and annoying him for his hard-wing views of "might makes right".
While he strives to challenge himself regularly, he harbors a fear of losing control of who he is and having his strength turned to aid those undeserving of it. This stems primarily from a terrible incident that nearly ended his life in the Blackros Museum. It is for this reason he always has a white prisim ioun stone slotted in his wayfinder and has since worked to strengthen his resolve.

1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
The freedom-loving patriots of Andoran saved me from a life of endless toil for no reward save not being whipped for being slow.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
This question confuses me, I'll have to meditate upon it.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I was born in a land far from here, and was a prodigy with engineering skills. Unfortunately, I couldn't find work there, so I came to the Inner Sea region pursuing a job offer from Cheliax. That didn't go very well.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Ornamentation and gaudy ritual pollute the mind and prevent one from seeing true Wisdom.
Simplicity and sincerity net more gains.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Teaching a younger Pathfinder something of importance and seeing them not only putting it into play, but excelling at it. Or, alternatively, resolving a conflict without the death of any party involved. Death is mostly permanent, and prevents the learning process from continuing for a good while.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Being bound beyond my will or control.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
There are far too many to say any given one. There have been as many that needed desperate guidance as were paragons in their fields. In this, the Society is both at its strongest and its weakest.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I think and worry too much, taking responsibility well and beyond what I probably should sometimes. It is a lesson that I need to keep working on.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
That someday I'll be in a position where I'll have to end someone for the Greater Good and they aren't deserving of it. See above commentary about bindings for the second part.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My connection and understanding of the lessons imparted by the Master of Masters. That cannot be taken away as long as one keeps an open mind and a willingness to learn.
Tanoshi |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I... ah... well, it sounded like a good idea at the time! See the world, make lasting friendships with your adventuring companions. Good pay. Life-long benefits programme. Etc. etc.
Oh, and at the time I was hearing a lot of stuff about things going on in Varisia, where I had an old friend disappear off to a few years back. I figured maybe it'd increase my chances of running into him.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Tachibana Tanoshi's the name I was born with. I've borrowed a lot of other names in the meantime. Some of them might have been ripped straight from popular culture. What's this "Earth" stuff you're talking about, though? Is there a particularly interesting mythology believed in on the plane of Earth?
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in Minkai. I'm not certain the location had all too much influence on me. I never got too involved in the shaky politics they have going on over there, and I never was much for that code of honor stuff all the mighty warriors there seem to think is so important. Besides, I never really was much for the warrioring stuff anyway.
My mother's choice of profession and place of residence as a priestess to Arshea probably had more influence than anything else.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
What do I look like? Are you asking about now, or usually, or by habit, or preference? I look like a lot of things in a lot of ways, usually determined by what suits me best at the moment. Kitsune look like a lot of things, and I've spent most my life perfecting that!
As for what I'm wearing... well, I'm not currently engaged in any official Pathfinder business, so... well, let's just say I've got my "casual wear" on right now.
While out on official business, I'm usually clothed in... well, as with appearance, whatever happens to be suitable for the moment.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Meeting new acquaintances, making friends, bettering the lives of those I'm around. And a good rousing drink, an engaging party, or even a quiet evening enjoying myself never hurts.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
The inevitability of conflict on these missions the Pathfinder Society sends us on. How depressing it is! Just when I think I've made a new, fast friend... it turns out they were just waiting for their sneakier companion to get behind me and stick a dagger in my side!
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I try to stay flexible and work with whoever happens to be thrown together by the powers that be. Don't really have a consistent set of folk I'm with. Still, it never hurts to have a big strong guy to stand between me and anyone I fail to win over with my natural charm. Even better if the big strong guy also knows the value of waiting awhile for polite conversation to run its course before he runs in swinging his sword, axe, mace, hammer, or whatever big weapon he favours.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I'm told I haven't exactly been helping to dispel any stereotypes other races have regarding Kitsune.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries
There was this one time I thought it would be a good idea to sign up with a temple of Calistria. Figured it would be similar enough to the duties I performed for Arshea back home.
Nope! They have... tools, and devices, and all manner of unpleasantry going on there... Eugh, the very thought sends chills down my spine!
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Some persons in higher positions than myself have requested that I neither discuss that part of myself, nor describe it in any detail while in a public setting. If you'd still like to hear, though, I know this lovely meadow where we could enjoy a picnic and talk about such things...

Molos smart enough be cautious, not overly worry about one thing, though.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My finely trained taste buds!!!
Chloe Desmarais |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I had been searching for my sister for a good long while, ever since her fiendish heritage surfaced and our parents shipped her off to Amanandar to get her out of the eye of their neighbors in Oppara.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
No, I am not named after something dragged out of the ground!
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in Oppara, in Taldor. My fellow pathfinders say they can tell after they've been travelling with me for a while, but I think that is just jealousy. I used to harbor my nation's hatred of the Qadirans, but I think my time with the Society has mellowed me out a bit.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I am always dressed to kill. literally. My glamered fullplate almost always looks like a fine blue dress, no matter where I am. One must dress to impress, no? I always have my trusty buckler strapped on my arm, with my falcata at my side,
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
I love my sister, and the fellow Pathfinders that my Venture-Captain sends me with. I don't necessarily love but harbor a healthy respect for Iomedae, Cayden Cailean, and Norgorber, for they have ascended from humanity, much like myself.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
My parent's, for separating me from my sister, and anyone else trying to kill me or my friends.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
There are a number of figures I have come to count as trusted ally. Allies like Fata Morgana, the chosen of Sivanah. Also, a certain Chelish diva with an addiction to healing.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Asides from being pthe pinnacle of humanity, my celestial heritage has done absolutely nothing to influence my views. Nope, not at all.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
There is not much I fear, death came for me but couldn't keep me down. I do get somewhat skittish around flaming-burst greataxes, for a completely unrelated reason. Also confusion, it can get quite bad for my allies, but I do try to mitigate the risk somewhat.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My falcata and buckler, easily. The art of Rondelero would be lost to me without them, and I have had them enchanted to protect them.
Smoogle |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Power. Knowledge. Boredom. Always one (or more) of the three.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
My given name, as my surname, is...well...how should I put it...None Of Anyone's Damn Business. You can call me Smoogle the Horselicker. Or, better yet, you can leave me the hell alone.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up the son of a street performer. He then left, undoubtedly because he got sick of my inconsiderate whining like, 'I'm hungry!' 'I want to learn how to read!' 'Where's mommy?' 'Why is this dog raping me?' As to the nation and street, it was in I Don't Give a Rat's Ass Enough to Share, on Apathy Lane.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I am a fat, bearded, bald human, with glasses, blue eyes, a sour expression, and am dressed in a long, dirty robe, full of unidentifiable crust and various stains. I have a wedding ring, and am followed by a floating disk with various junk in it, including my bag of chickens. Sometimes I am riding Bob the camel. I do have a clean robe, which I reluctantly will wear when in 'polite' company, but otherwise my clothing is unchanged (due to 'endure elements').
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Happiness is a (very) warm sudden burst of fire, accompanied by screams of 'why does this hurt more than it should?', and 'Oh God, isn't it bad enough I was born a goblin, now I'm being burnt to death?'
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Goblins. All of them, everywhere. In my retirement, I plan to exterminate them. I've heard of being a 'Seeker' - I plan to 'Seek' the 'destruction' of that 'filth'.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I (reluctantly) acknowledge necessity means relying on all other Pathfinders for teamwork, survival, cribbage, dominoes, and big giant meat shields. The venture captains, collectively, are my father figures, as I greatly admire...hah hah, I can't do it. Nah, they're the worst. I don't have a rival, as this implies someone who is as good as me, and, well, that ain't happenin'
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I'm a human, so of course I am better than all other pretenders. But, I'm a wizard, so I'm better than the poor, pitiful, magic-less rabble. I'm an evoker, so I actually use magic instead of simpering about 'prestidigitation' and 'animate dead'. And obviously, I'm Smoogle, so to hell with everyone else.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I am afraid I am running out of patience with answering these questions. I am afraid the next time a venture captain calls me into a room and runs his/her mouth about some inane journey that my magic could take care of in 5 minutes, while I have to endure the company of mouth-breathing 'friendly' associates, I will finally snap and simply teleport into the center of the sun. I am afraid the next time I have to face some outsider/extra-planar being/powerful undead, I'll just say to hell with it and switch sides.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My cheerful disposition. Really, my wedding ring. Yes, I'm married. Yes, it's my arcane bond. Yes, I shift in and out of the Material Plane with it. No, I'm not going to talk about my marriage, or any other damn thing. One last thing - remember to tell your friends, neighbors, and people who you can barely contain your anger when interacting with, about the School of Smoogle, where you too can learn low-level magic and grow to hate the world!
Tariq al'Abdsaren |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder? Tariq is my first PFS character, made before there was a lot known about the Pathfinder Society. Therefore, his reasons for being a pathfinder are fairly weak and ill-defined. I usually just default to he is a pathfinder for opportunities to explore the world.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture? Tariq al'Abdsaren. While his name is inspired from certain Arabic naming conventions, or more likely my misunderstanding of them, it is twisted to be more appropriate to Golarion.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you? Tariq was born and raised in Qadira, near Katheer. Tariq is a devout follower of Sarenrae. That said he is not above making a profit when he can do so without unnecessarily bringing harm to others or to nature.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities? Tariq is a fairly typical member of the Keleshite ethnicity with black hair and tanned skin as well as his brown eyes. He is not overly strong but is still fairly toned. His dress is very dependant on where he is found. In official settings he is dressed in fine embroidered loose fitting clothes common to his homeland. When training his horses he is wearing more rugged gear appropriate to the task though still styled in a manner common to his homeland. He adjusts his attire as appropriate to the current climate, but does not necessarily change his attire to “color-coordinate” with his surroundings.
5. What do you love? Samir his animal companion; Family; Nature; Sarenrae; Fair Profit
6. What do you hate? Despoilers of nature and abusers of wildlife; cheats; those who do not value hard work and commitment; Druids who think you have to be uncivilized and/or uncouth to revere nature; The traitor b@!$~ Pasha Mualia al’Jakri.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival? Tariq has no long standing relationships with any other pathfinders(PCs) he has worked with many and has found many he likes and some he dislikes. Tariq looks up to Trade Prince Aaqir al’Hakam as both a mentor and as proof that you can pursue profit and still maintain your honor.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu? The strongest influence on Tariq from his Keleshite heritage is his devotion to Sarenrae. He dislikes slavery despite its acceptance in his homeland but he is not a fanatical abolitionist.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries? Tariq’s recent death and return has given him a new serenity towards the issue of death. That said his biggest fear would be to be cut off from contact with everything while being preserved in life.
10. What is your most treasured possession? By most people’s standards Salim, Tariq’s animal companion, would be his most treasured possession. However Tariq does not consider Salim property but rather a companion. Despite his Mercantile nature and affiliation, Tariq does not place much value on any specific possession, the closest he would come would be, Mezerah Shams, his Ranch where he raises and trains horses.
Randall Baneshot |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I joined the Pathfinder Society to serve my goddess, Pharasma, in slaying the undead. I must admit that when I was younger, I became enamored with heroic tales of warriors purging the world of evil lurking in the shadow. In one day of my duties, I assumed responsibility over caring for a wounded rugged gentleman. Dying, he gave me many unusual demands, but I followed them all, respecting his wishes. Before the Midwife took him, he gave me his damaged firearm. I kept it for years, slowly learning how to use it. I took it as a sign from the Midwife to serve her beyond the borders of Absalom and strike down those that disrupt the spiral.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
My real last name is Barthadieus. The stranger thought ill of this name and suggested "Baneshot" instead. More menacing, he said.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I lived in a small section of an Absalom district most of my life. Despite it as a city of mixed cultures, I never realized how isolated I've been from the world until I ventured out.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I try to look presentable as a representative of the midwife. I always care for my long hair and use a gothic Pharsmin robe as a jacket over my stylish adventuring attire. My holy symbol always hangs from my neck.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)I enjoy fine wine, music, and pleasantries I did have possess in my youth while working for the church.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
I dislike -- what do they call it again? Murderhobos? I enjoy adventuring with interesting characters, but one time, I had a party where the only sane person was an aasimar that called himself "The Bat Man." I hope I never encounter them again.
I dislike the Apis Consortium. At first, I admit I do not care for politics and wondered why there existed so much animosity towards them. Then they set fire to a village of frog people. Yeah, I now have no qualms about sending them to an early grave.
Also, very annoying when my jacket gets dirtied. Sometimes, I wonder if a god of trickery is hellbent on ruining my jacket every mission.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
My adventuring party varies. I made good friends with an ifrit merchant prince that was a fine swordsman during my investigation for a piece of the Sky Key. My very first mission involved a monk named Nygonzo and his sister, a beautiful girl with fox ears and tail. Unfortunately, a shadow took her life. As a servant of Pharasma, it was my responsibility to avenge her, free her undead spirit, and arrange her funeral.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?As a human, I have a very open view towards other races. I've befriended nagaji, kitsune, ifrit, elves, and a dwarf who "failed Torag School."
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I fear the day much like a day of my first mission where I will feel helpless in a time where I must serve Pharasma the most. A day where people will die and suffer fates worst than death all because I lacked the tools and fortitude strike down the Midwife's enemies. The undead come in so many forms that it is difficult to prepare myself against all of them.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
I treasure the firearm left to me by the stranger. I consider it a symbol of purpose.
Rook the Mighty |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
To pay back the debt to the Silver Crusade for rescueing Rook from a demon attack.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
I named him Rook after the chesspiece, in most adventures he is a pillar enemies cannot get past.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Climbed up from the darklands after escaping from drow fleshwarping experiments.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities? Bare-bones when it comes to clothing, covered in chemical wounds and scars, ignores most enviromental clothing because he doesn't need them.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
All the good people at the silver crusade for doing the right thing.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)Anyone that would do something for their own twisted enjoyment, be it torture or otherwise, obviously drow and elves to a certain extent.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival? Not really, Rook tends to be nice to anyone if they don't make an ass out of themselves
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu? As noted earlier, only suspicious of elves because they look like drow and hates drow deeply.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Surgery and medical equipment, iffy around mutagen focused alchemists.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Cobbled together sword, that's his best friend, made from pieces of an old operating table.
Kruuuuuuune |
1. My mother kicked me put of the house and made me get a job. The society is exceedingly easy to get into if you pass the alignment test and sign off on the waiver.
2. Do you have Not at all
3. Magnimar is a beautiful place. It really showed me what little effort can bring you.
4. I always wear robes. I dont really feel the need to ever change them. As far as trekking through various terrains i barely have enough energy to stay on my steed let alone walk myself.
5. My greatest desire is to lay about and do nothing for hours at a time. My favorite part of a mission is the briefing where we are fed and can sit.
6. Any amount of work is almost too much to handle. I dont understand why if youre happy with living in a tent the government just doesnt pay for you.
7. I cant really be bothered tp remember my fellow pathfinders names so i just label them the first thing i notice. Small badger guy's cool, earthbreaker dude can take a hit. Its noce to have motivated help.
8. I never really thought about it. Looking back at all humans have accomplished I guess you could say im an outlier. Im unmotivated extreamly harty and intelligent. I dont care for others but have a deep respect for the laws that govern us.
9. Im terrified of responsibility. Mostly because it means having to do work. Im allergic to work im pretty sure, my face gets flustered and my pits begin to secrete a substance the clerics have informed me is sweat. It is all together rather unpleasant.
10. My spellbook. My wizard hat. My ponies.

2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Shayd of Nidal
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Of Nidal, it screwed me up pretty good. But Zarta lets me out every other day...on my own, like no chains or anything.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Think of shadow, a little less dark than that. I have some plans to buy a mithril chain shadowed armor...
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
I love the repo business, and business is good.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
I hate having to go back to Nidal, I escaped from there afterall.

8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
As a human I find racism repugnant...mainly because of all the limitations it has.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I fear days without twinkies, there are far too many.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
~ ~ ~my adamantine greatsword "Lil Miss Dead"
"Bugbear" Jim Mathers |
Interviewee: "Bugbear" Jim Mathers, Level 10 Brawler/Monk
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
The old master wanted me to drink, fight, and make a name for myself all over the world. Society covers the fighting part just fine, and I've got the "all over the world" part down too. Now I just need to catch up on the fame part. And the drinking.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
...okay, yeah, dunno where those places are, but Jim's a common enough name in Absalom. I got to be "Bugbear" because "Big Jim" was already taken, so was "Strong Jim," "Handsome Jim" and even "Ugly Jim."
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I'm from the Docks, Absalom. I've seen a bit of everything come off those ships, including the drunken, stubbly-headed Tien man who'd become my master.
I thought I'd seen it all between growing up in the big city and sailing for a few years, but these days I'm seeing some really weird crap. Guess you learn something new every day.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Ahem.
You see these muscles? Yeah. This isn't just what a warrior looks like, this is what a CHAMPION looks like. I'm six feet, four inches of prime, tanned beef. I know you can't get the full show here, since I've got this STARMETAL FRIGGING CHAIN shining all over, or the shield I had made out of the HEAD OF THIS FRIGGING DRAGON, but let me assure you that I have the body of a god made man!
...yeah, I know I only have one eyebrow. Shut up.
No, I'm not part ogre. Why do people keep asking that?
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Beer's nice. Good company's nice. But if I have to pick one thing... it's that dopey look spellcasters get on their faces between my fist smacking their jaw, and their jaw smacking the floor.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Argh. Flying things. Invisible things too, but mostly flying things. Every time I'm back in town it's straight to the alchemist for another potion.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
Grandma's my favorite. She knows smart people things, and her spells turn me and the other boys into murder machines... better murder machines, anyway. Unless she's just ruining everyone's day over like a whole city block.
Got a couple of other buddies I like running with. Not that I have a problem knocking things out, but George the half-orc splatters things with that axe and he's untouchable in his armor. Then there're a couple of monks I run with. I think my master'd want me picking fights with them and stuff, but it's hard to get that going when neither of them talk.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Show me another human who can punch an earth elemental in half, buddy. I'm a frigging champion over here.
Yeah, I'm a human. Not a half-orc, not a half-ogre, not a half-giant. Human.
...probably. I didn't exactly know my birth folks.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
...
I'm not a smart guy, right? No magic, no nothing, just my bare hands. Nothing's happened yet, and all, but it's come close a few times, and I think I'd lose it if something made me hurt one of my friends.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
Heh. I try not to think too much of stuff, never mind that I've got like ten tons of shiny magic gear. The armor's definitely my most expensive, but my favorite are these sandals. Ice, gravel, floodwater? No problem.

Kestrix Stormbringer
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
It was thanks to the resources of the Pathfinder society that I escaped the vile bondage of Cheliax. Also, they pay better than most mercenary contracts, and there's a chance you will be partnered with someone half-way competent.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
The name I was given as a slave was Kestrix, and I retain to remind myself of my past. My comrades in the Society dubbed me Stormbringer after watching me battle for the first time.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up as a child in the nation of Cheliax. As a tiefling, I was subjected to all the predjudice and cruelties that my masters could devise. Torture and deprivation taught me to withstand whatever life can throw at me.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I wear mithral fullplate armor. Any noble-born fool attempting to force me into some lacy, silky nonsensical outfit will find himself thrown through the nearest available exit. That armor cost me most of 5 years takings. It is good enough for company.
OOC: Kestrix is 6'0" tall, with white skin and dark golden eyes. Her hair is deep black and perfectly straight; usually worn in a high ponytail for battle. Even in the ponytail it hangs to her waist. She has a pattern of black scales that starts above her left eyebrow and ends about midthigh. To disguise the scales slightly, she has had a black serpentine dragon tattooed over and around them.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Battle. The sound of steel on steel is my preferred music, and the field of war is my dancing floor.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Cheliax. And all those who unjustly persecute and enslave the helpless.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
My brother Tristan is a well-known Pathfinder wizard, an esteemed scholar and a member of the Scarab Sage faction. He is quite handy in a fight, and almost as good as he thinks he is. And if you tell him I said any of this, I will gut you and hang you from a pole for the carrion-birds.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
A tiefling recieves more blows then praise. I have always found myself to be more comfortable in the prescence of other warriors such as myself.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I fear helplessness. Which is why my axe swinging towards their head is the last sight of those who would attempt to cause me to feel this fear.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My axe. I have named it Negotiation.
Zsorene Sundancer
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
My family were well-respected Qadiran merchants who had a business association with Merchant-Prince al'Hakam. When it became clear that my wanderlust was stronger than my desire to remain at home and marry well, the Pathfinder Society was recommended as a respectable organization where I would be able to visit exotic locales and meet interesting persons.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
My mother named me Zsorene. I was granted the name Sundancer for my ease of movement and physical appearance.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in Qadira. Although I have not returned to the land of my birth for many years, its customs and language remain with me.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
My hair is long and dark, my eyes are dark, and my skin is darker than most northern-born peoples. Although possibly not as dark as one who lives mostly in the desert, as I have traveled much to the northern countries.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
My family. They were always supportive of my desires, and a safe haven to come home to.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
The Aspis Consortium. Those treacherous, dishonorable, scum-loving sons of jackals attempted to assassinate me, and when this attempt failed, they slaughtered my beloved family. I now devote myself to their complete annihilation.
OOC: This character was killed in her bed in Blood Under Absalom by the Aspis assassins. This was my first PFS character and my first official PFS scenario, and I needed an in-character reason for her to switch from worshipping Sarenrae to Gorum and go a#~!#%& on the Aspis. She has paid for no less than 3 atonements (warpriest 2/cleric 7 of Gorum) for outright murdering Aspis agents after they surrendured.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I do not have any particular companion amoung the Society. I rely on the Venture-Captains to appoint competent, professional people to accompany me on missions. *slightly embarassed cough* This does not always work out quite the way I had anticipated...
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
As a human, I have learned that there as many ethnicities of my race as there are different races on Golarion. I find meeting other cultures and races a fascinating and enlightening experiance.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I fear that I shall perish on the field of battle before I have accomplished my mission to obliterate the Consortium.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My memories of my family and loved ones.
Ophelia Feshal |
OOC: Time to revive this thread. I always liked this one, and already answered as 12 of my current PCs (and one that got rebuilt into a completely different PC since posting here).
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Why not?
Pathfinders raid tombs and such, full of dead things. I'm already dead inside, so I suppose it's a good place for me to be. And if we meet any evil fiends that deserve to die, I can help them join me in death. I'm good at stabbing things. *continues sharpening a dagger with a whetstone*
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
I haven't heard of this Earth. But whenever I introduce myself, people ask if I know someone named Hamlet. Or they warn me about drowning. But that's not really an issue. Naderi won't let me drown. I know, because I... *looks down and stops talking*
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I come from the River Kingdoms. I grew up around water, and know how to swim well. And I grew up seeing elves from nearby Kyonin who want nothing to do with a "half breed" like me. Even the one who supposedly loved me... *gets a far away look*
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
As you can see, I'm a half-elf with red hair and blue eyes. I wear light armor and lots of knives. I'm good with knives, I suppose. *more quietly* That's all I'm good at. *stares into space some more*
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Love? No... not any more.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Life. My own, mostly.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
No. I'm new here, and I'm not looking to make friends. I don't expect to last that long.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
My elven father rejected my human mother, and that rejection continued into the next generation. I suppose that influenced me quite a lot.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Afraid? No. I have nothing left to lose.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
As I said, I have nothing left to lose. *more quietly* Not any more... *stares into space*

Sure, I need to flesh out a new character anyway.. Nix, my frontline Skald.
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
GLORY TO THE DECEMVIRATE, GLORY TO THE SOCIETY!!!
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
GLORY GLORY GLORY GLORY!!!! (no.)
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
ABSALOM, AS THE PUREST OF IT'S CHILDREN. I CAN TASTE THE BLOOD IT SPILLS AS IT FORCES THE WORLD TO REVOLVE AROUND IT, I CAN SEE WHO IS STEERING THE SHIP. THE DECEMVIRATE DECIDE WHO LIVES ON WHO DIES, THEY DECIDE IF WE LIVE AND DIE, *whispering intensely* and if we live again...
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
ONLY WHAT I NEED TO SERVE, TO OFFER MY SONG TO THE DECEMVIRATE FOR AS LONG AS MY LIFE ALLOWS.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
HOWLING FOR MY ENEMIES BLOOD, SPINNING A CROWD INTO A FURY, FIGHTING FOR THE DECEMVIRATES' FAVOR, AND... and learning about the world around him. Nix reads a lot of books when he isn't partaking in the blood lust of a good fight.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
MEDIOCRE PERFORMANCES.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
N/A
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Nix is actually more like his Orc heritage than his human. Rage is life, and love is the mist of blood that follows his axe.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
An inglorious death.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
MY CHROME, SHINY AND SHARP. (his greataxe)
Kahel Stormbender |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
I'm not, really. Or at least I don't think of myself as one. I've always loved books. To me, the scent of well cured parchment and dried ink is the second best thing in the world. I joined the dark archive because they're the keepers of the library. I could happily lose entire days among those ancient tomes and forgotten scrolls. In fact, I often do just that. To me the times I'm forced out into the field is an irritating time when I'm pulled away from my true passion.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Earth? I think I recall reading something about someplace called Earth. At first I thought the scroll was talking about the elemental plane. But what it described sounds nothing like my research into the elemental planes. Oh well, maybe I'll look into that more someday. But if you are interested in my name, well then you aren't alone. smiles enigmatically
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
None really. My parents were wandering traders. And let me tell you, growing up on the road was not as fun as many city children imagine. It's dirty, you rarely get a warm bath, and there's no real reprieve when it rains. Not to mention that with a family as large as mine, the wagon could get kind of cramped. I was happy to settle in one place and peruse my dreams.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
Unlike my sisters, I'm not that vain. I prefer wearing something comfortable. When I'm working you'll often see me wearing a cotton tunic and breaches. I keep my fur groomed and nice, although I do prefer my human guise. But when my boss sends me out into the field I sacrifice comfort for function. I did grow up on the road, so am well aware of how important sturdy cloths are. I'm told I often look like an explorer when I'm in the field. Not quite sure what people mean by that though. And I'm told my chain shirt is quite dashing. I keep it clean and polished. Best to put forth a good image after all.
Wait, stalking sewers?! Why would you ever want to do that?!
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Curling up beside a fire with a fascinating tome. As I said, books have long been a passion of mine.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Those who would destroy knowledge, they really get on my nerves. It should be recorded and shared with the world, not burned as kindling!
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
Well, there was this lizard like fellow named Crocadon, I think. Lovable lug, but not all there. If you know what i mean. He was great in a fight, when he wasn't jumping off balconies and falling off roofs. My brother Marak (he's adopted by the way) says he just worked with him. Speaking of family, I wonder how my other brothers and my sisters are doing? I haven't seen them since I started working in this library.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
Well, for one thing I'm not human. Nor am I an elf, gnome, orc, or tengu. Although I forgive you for the mistake. I do spend most of my time disguised as a human after all. It's just easier that way. Compared to other kitsune I've met, I'm rather serious. Don't get me wrong, I love a good prank as much as the next kitsune. But I find my time is better spent reading.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Well, I wouldn't say I'm afraid of it. But I do have a healthy respect for unknown magic items. I've seen someone reduced to the heartiness of a baby because he put on an unidentified belt. And my boss robbed me of my very gender when I was ordered to try on a girdle that nobody had been able to identify. I was not amused with having to buy a whole new wardrobe.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
You might think it's my enchanted chain shirt made of mithral. But to be honest, I prize my library card the most. It's just a little slip of paper. Yet it gives me access to all those wonderful books and scrolls!
Varg Shelynson |
Varg's speech is slow, slightly slurred, and he occasionally stutters, as you might expect from a retarded peson. He's not truly retarded, but he is a slower learner than most people, and wasn't taught very well as a child to make up for it.

Julian Lightfoot |
Assuming Julian fails at least two will saves vs magic that forces him to answer these questions honestly, since revealing this information would be completely against his nature.
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
Well, I tell people it's because Pharasma commanded me to hunt undead, but that's a lie. I really just want to find out secrets. All secrets. The secrets we uncover while away on missions, those I can uncover about the things stored in the Dark Archive, and those I can find out by being a Pathfinder and gaining more access to Pathfinder information. The biggest secret of all that I want to uncover is the identities of the Decemvirate.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Earth? I haven't heard of that one. I'll have to research it.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Like many halflings, I grew up in a wandering merchant caravan. I was in the city of Korvosa as a teenager when the biggest event of my life happened.
I always liked watching people, sneakily following them when I could, to find out their secrets. In Korvosa that day, I followed an interesting looking man, and saw him commit murder. Afterward, he pulled out a secret unholy symbol and whispered what I assume was a prayer to his patron.
While researching that unholy symbol, I learned that Norgorber likes secrets as much as I do, and I prayed to him to grant me the ability to find out more secrets. He gave me the divine power of an inquisitor.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
I'm an average looking halfling, usually dressed all in black, with a fancy silver holy symbol of Pharasma. While adventuring, I wear a breastplate and carry a repeating heavy crossbow for protection.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
Finding out forbidden knowledge!
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Secrets that I can't get to. And when secrets I know become public knowledge.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
No, I don't have any close friends in the Society.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I'm much more quiet than the average halfling. Not the jovial type that most expect. And when I convince people of things, I tend to rely much more on logical arguments and a firm grasp of the facts than just being friendly to win them over.
Student of Philosophy trait - He uses intelligence instead of charisma for most bluff and diplomacy checks.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Being an inquisitor of a deity whose worship is banned throughout most of the Inner Sea, I always have to worry about being found out.
And I am a little worried about Pharasma, since I act as one of her priests to disguise the true origin of my divine magic. I really did join her clergy, and do the job properly, even though I don't care that much about it. I know I'll have to face her eventually, and I want her to know that I really did serve her well as a priest, even if my motivations weren't pure.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
All the great secret knowledge I've discovered and kept secret over the years.
Shamira |
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
More or less an accident. I was traveling around a few years ago, when I met up with some explorers in Thornkeep and earned a field commision by helping them out there. Ever since then I found out that the society has some very interesting travel destinations. I even impressed some people enough to be named Venture-Captain and allowed me my own lodge in the Realm of Mammoth Lords.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Shamira means Guardian in Hebrew. As is usual among the northern followings I do not have a surname.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
I grew up in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords. This influenced me in the way that I tend to be very independend, and helpful towards friends.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
This one is very easy. A short while ago I commissioned a fairly accurate drawing of me and my mammoth Libi. You can view it here. Thanks to extended castings of Life Bubble I tend to dress the same everywhere I have to go, which means leather and fur.
5. What do you love? (Treasure and experience doesn’t count)
I love to travel, and meet new people.
6. What do you hate? (Unclear and irritating darkness level rules don’t count)
Demons, and most arcane casters. A lot of the problems I encounter and help solve has been caused by wizards or other arcane casters doing something stupid.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I rely on a couple of my fellow Venture-Captains. They are:
Carla, a bard who changes gender almost as often as others change their clothing. Very useful person to have around in difficult situations.
Lyrinn, one of the few arcane casters I like. Extremely good at fixing stuff other wizards f%~#ed up, especially when it comes to removing demons and devils.
Saa, a powerful cleric of Gozreh. Very useful to have along on adventures.
Vatra, a magus with a knack for killing demons and devils. Another one of the very few arcane casters I like.
Xuno, a barbarian like me, however she did not grew up in the Realms. Excellent fighter and an asset to have along.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most humans/elves/gnomes/orcs/tengu?
I'm seen as a fairly typical Kellid from the Realms, I even have my own mammoth. I'm better than most other humans at dealing with megafauna.
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
Losing Libi. I worry about keeping my lodge safe in the harsh north.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
My mammoth Libi.
