Mythic Playtest: The Mythic Six

Recruitment

I am crunching my fighter and paladin as we speak.

We'll take it from there.

Ok, Paladin Mythic Guardian Crunch is up as an alias of Edeldhur - Taldash - let me know if he looks ok.

Working on backgound and also pondering some alternatives regarding the fighter ;)

Alias updated; should be all set! Crunch and fluff both up in profile, but I'll include the fluff in this post for ease of reference :)

Backstory:
Avizzikazimon Tolo'kazzagekki was born to an eccentric tribe of wild Ulfen, elves, and fey, who lived together in the far northern mountains and forests. Raised by a mother, without knowledge of any father, Avizzi could not live the life of a normal boy in the tribe, which was greatly focused on family and inheritance. While he was accepted and progressed normally, upon reaching manhood, Avizzi felt he needed to strike out on his own.

From a young age, Avizzi had displayed unusual physical strength, agility, and stamina, and he had laid out more than one boy looking for a fight. He traveled south, hoping to hone his skills and find his purpose in life. Surprisingly, he found it in the bottom of a mug of ale.

It was after a long day of travel and work that Avizzi stopped at that fateful tavern. He had rescued a family on the road earlier, thrashing some would-be bandits, and continued his trek until he reached the town. "Ale?" he asked, when the barkeep suggested it. Unused to the drink--he had only ever had the sweet mead of the northern tribes--Avizzi took the mug cautiously. After taking a sip and finding it to his liking, the Ulfen drank it in the way of his people, tipping it back and guzzling it down. Even as the mug hit the counter, Avizzi toppled from his stool in what appeared to all onlookers as a drunken faint.

In reality, Avizzi's discovery of the drink prompted the revelation of his heritage. The Drunken God, Cayden Cailean, visited the young Ulfen and informed him that the Accidental God was his father. Cayden quickly informed Avizzi that he had been granted great power from this birth, and that it would spring up and stay with the martial artist as long as he made sure at least once a day to toast his father with the drink. Cayden's final message was a simple one: "Follow in your old mans' footsteps, boy! Drink and be merry. Help those that need it. Suffer not a tyrant to... erm... You get the idea! Now get back out there and live up to your name!"

After this event, Avizzi took up a staff and cloak and did, indeed, follow the example of his sire. He continued mostly as he had, truth be told: wandering from place to place, doing good deeds when he could, and honoring his father with a swig of ale at dawn, noon, and dusk each day. His power has only grown since, and Avizzi hopes he's doing his old man proud.

Appearance:
Avizzi is slightly taller than the average man, and his broad chest and shoulders and narrowed waist and legs mark him as an athletic and strong man. He carries himself proudly, but is far from stiff, and a smile is never far from his face. His eyes are a twinkling steel blue, offsetting the thick, bushy brown hair that grows long from his head and spreads across his face in a beard and mustache. It's obvious from first glance that Avizzi is either a devout worshiper of Cayden Cailean or a devout alcoholic: he sports no fewer than eight flasks strapped across his body, whether tucked in his sash and satchel or at hip holsters, or even strapped into the small of his back.

Personality:
Avizzi is one of those few souls who is honestly happy with the simple things in life: good deeds and good drink. He is quick to laugh, though he is not always quick with a jest of his own, and while he doesn't have a strong personality, per se, he instantly comes across as a genuinely good and honest person. He really wants nothing more in life than the freedom to walk where he will and help who he can, a drink at his hip, and to honor his father.

Avizzi, may I ask where the shield bonus is coming from? I have been desperately looking for an option to have a shield using monk for a particular build I had in mind, but so far have not managed a decent one - you may have the solution? :D

Snapping Turtle Style gives me a +1 shield bonus as long as I have one hand free--Avizzi doesn't generally fight with the quarterstaff. Alas, this does not actually mean a shield-using monk is feasible at this time. If only... Please, Paizo?

Ok, so I am hoping we are still going to take this forward.

I have finally managed to end the backstory on Taldash - it turned out too long as usual :D

All is in the alias profile.

Let me know if it is adequate.

Cheers.

Scarab Sages

Will have a background up soon and tweaks to character.

Still here.

Also still here!

Going through the stat blocks now. Once that's done, I'll PM those who haven't posted characters to check if they're still interested.

@Drayen

Since you have a net -2 against all enchantment spells and effects after factoring in your racial resistance, just list that by your saves.

Drow-Blooded gives you light blindness, not light sensitivity.

I'm only getting 2 1st level spells per day, not 3. Likewise, I don't see anything that would give you +3 with a short spear in close range.

I'm counting 6 skill points. You should only have 5, unless I'm missing something, given it looks like your favored class bonus went into rounds of bardic performance per day.

You forgot to list your mere club in your equipment section.

Your bedroll is overpriced. It actually only costs 1 sp, or .1 gp, instead of .5 gp, which would be 5 sp.

Changed how the stat block reflects the Will save.

Fixed

Actually, I only spent four skill points, however; I did adjust the total modifiers for Climb, Knowledge (nature) to accurately reflect the associated stat. I added the fifth skill point to Stealth and adjusted the total modifier accordingly.

Added and adjusted total weight and cash.

Fixed and adjusted total cash. Also, forgot to change out the wooden armour for a hide shirt although I did remember it in my description. I exchanged them out and made the corrections to cost, weight, cash and encumbrance. Finally, I changed 2pp to 1 freshwater pearl and 1 piece of obsidian to more accurately reflect the primitive nature of the character.

@Loup Blanc

Keep in mind that you only get the shield bonus once you've activated your style, and that you won't get the shield bonus when wielding the quarterstaff, since you won't have a free hand.

Other than that, looks like you're good.

@Edeldhur

Equipment looks a bit sparse.

I assume you traded in your racial SLA for 16 on the Tieflings variant trait list, which you've listed as Powerful Build?

@Hawkwen

Still need you to fill out your equipment.

You also may want to pick out a couple traits. It isn't required, but you may be a bit behind the curve of the others if you don't.

Got it, actually picked traits on Hero Lab, forgot to update profile.

I know, but I've already basically decided Avizzi's go-to opening in combat is to drop his staff, which he mainly uses as a walking stick, and go into the style. Seems an appropriate opening technique, straight out of a cheesy martial arts film...

Got a PM from Bell,

Think I'll go with a Druid/Heirophant, focusing on his animal companion.

Bell,
Would mind if played an Elf, swapping the Int bonus for Wis and the Con penalty for a Str to play a more savage/wild elf character?

If not, I'll still go Elf, just thought I'd ask.

Got a PM as well...gonna go human rogue trickster

gp rolls

4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 1) = 15 x 10=150gp

Kaeldrum

got the message, going for a dwarf cleric heirophant that goes into the front lines. information will be up shortly

this is pavaan's mythic battle cleric

Equipment is sparse since I was waiting for the approval on the character itself before making the final gear adjustments - since we are only level 1, if he gets accepted fleshing out his gear takes but 5 minutes ;)

Correct on the Tiefling options - I use Herolab, and sometimes it is hard to keep track of exactly where this and that is coming from - since I am using only official modules, and it gives me no errors, most of the time I assume the character is correctly built :D

@Monkeygod

Normally I wouldn't mind, but given this is a playtest, I'd much rather stick with rules-as-written

so is this going to start any time soon?

I think Belltrap's still going through all the submissions to iron out wrinkles and make sure this takes off well! Also, this period can help weed out the people who might drop off early.

Scarab Sages

Hmmm.

Still working on that Paladin DH/WHL, Trickster. Almost there.

The Silver Arrow.

Starting Gold: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 6, 6) = 19

Dot!

Taldash still here :D

Also still here! bump

Scarab Sages

No offense to Belltrap, but I was fearful to submit to this because I had checked Bell's past posts. Before this recruitment, last post was 2009 and it was a Recruitment that got all the way this point and then nothing. If you go check the last few posts, they are eerily similar. Like I said Belltrap, no offence, just doing my homework.

A shame it is...
