Got some new characters today, plus more to come throughout the week. Unlike many of their predecessors, all of these characters have seen play in our groups. Some are STILL seeing play. They are each contributed by my friends, who made them, and formatted by me to fit this thread's standards.
NEW CHARACTERS
Ogaro - 8th-level human brute, an urban barbarian known for raiding bars
Shin Takeru - 8th-level human spy, a foreign master of intelligence gathering

Bacon666 wrote:Great and inspirational work... Would love more chars under level 10...or even a breakdown of each char to level 5, 10, 15 & 20... However this is NOT a complaint... Just a humble dream...Keep in mind that he built these characters AT level. They've never actually been played after all.
When I make a character, I actually make them level-by-level. It helps keep me from making silly mistakes. If RD does the same, he may actually have their progression levels.

Having the same character at multiple levels is an exception, not the rule here (in other words, I do not normally make them level by level).
If you type in the URL for one of my characters, add a "_2" or "_3" after the end of the character name. Sometimes that will allow you to see a variant of the character (which might have very minor changes, a different point buy, different gear or archetype, be a different level, etc.).
For example, if you go to...
http://www.thefoolscourt.zxq.net/other/pollivar.pdf
...you will get a 16th-level character.
However, if you go to...
http://www.thefoolscourt.zxq.net/other/pollivar_3.pdf
...you will find a 1st-level version of the character that I use in Pathfinder Society (which means it uses 20-point buy and abides by the rules and restrictions of the Society).
(Version 2 is also a 1st-level version of the character which will soon be used in home games and has higher point buy, different feats, and less gear).
Alternatively, you can GO HERE, where I strive to keep an easily accessible archive of everything I post in this thread.

Hopefully this will get me to 200 favorites.

It is with deep appreciation that I review this thread. The characters/NPCs you are crafting are done so with gentle care that sparks the imagination. Your selection of picture with build choices are highly appealing. I used Abikay recently in an evening session of my weekly Pathfinder game, and he really surprised the players.
It is fantastic that you are providing these resources. I cannot thank you enough Ravingdork, and I will endeavor to bring some of these to life at my game table.
I find your work very inspirational, and want to add a thank you for also adding the rule descriptions because it makes running these characters very easy, allowing me to focus on storybuilding and execution and other prep elements such as maps and personalities.
Once again, thank you for this generous sharing of your talent and time.
Regards,
Pax Veritas

In alphabetical order, my favorites are:
Durin Wrang, Macellano Alamander, Sela Kurn, Syrania, and Yiankun.
If I was playing a summoner, it would be Durin. If a fighter: Marcy. A wizard: Sela. A sorcerer: Yiankun. If I were to play an evil character, it would be Syrania.
I'm also beginning to like Nudel more and more just for her awesome and unique killing potential.

Not much of a concept with Durin, really. I saw a cool picture of a serpent monster eating halflings and had to stat it out. I imagine Durin fights in combat mounted upon his eidolon whenever possible. When not able to do so, he relies on summoned monsters and deception.

You're not the first person to ask that Azelyan.
90 HD (CL15 x 6 for Spirit Vessels)
48 HD (CL 8 x 6 for Undead Master feat)
24 HD (CL 4 x 6 for Spell Specialization
12 HD (CL 2 x 6 for Varisian Tattoo)
06 HD (CL 1 x 6 for Orange Prism Ioun Stone)
= 180 HD total
+19 HD for Command Undead
I don't recall where the rest is coming from. It's entirely possible that I miscalculated. If anyone wants to take a crack at it, be my guest.

Spell Perfection doubles the effects of feats that apply to your perfected spell (animate dead in this case).
As far as I know, the only way to get even more hit dice (besides being higher level) is to play a mystic theurge. Developers have clarified that you track HD separately for arcane and divine casters.

TCG: I picked it up from this thread. Not everyone seems to agree that it works that way, but then again, this is the internet. People rarely agree on anything.
But you knew that already since you appear to be one of the voices of opposition in that thread.
EDIT: Or maybe not.
Reread astral. Looks like your plan is RAW, Art.

I thought that's what you were referring to, but I wasn't sure.
I think by RAW it would work, but I also think my DM would never allow it to happen.

This was one I've been wanting to do for a long time. I finally got it to feel right.
NEW CHARACTERS
Guinn Black - 10th-level catfolk marauder, a fearsome plains barbarian known for his deadly lightning strikes
Ravingdork |
He ran out of starting funds and I REALLY wanted him to have feather step slippers so he could charge over difficult terrain.
EDIT: Upon double-checking, the math is really off (it was late). I'm going to have to make some minor changes.

CHARACTER UPDATES
Guinn has had his starting equipment corrected. Among other things, I didn't take into account the new prices for amulet of mighty fists, so now that I've got that fixed up he is a fair bit more formidable than before.
Once per day he can move up to his speed as a swift action. Three times per day he can grant himself a +10-foot enhancement bonus to his speed as a swift action. Combined with his other abilities, this means he is capable of pouncing on an enemy from over 280 feet away or sprinting 490 feet in a single round, all while ignoring difficult terrain. He has an estimated top speed of just over 43 miles per hour.
His new stalker's mask also allows him to better sneak up on targets while freaking them the hell out slasher-movie style.

Either I've grown out of it over the last few years, or the quality of anime has gone WAY down. Either way, I seldom watch it anymore.
Guinn Saga isn't bad though. Good action and plot. Voice actors could be better though.
