There likely won't be new "batches" so much as a new "drizzle" of one or two characters at a time.

You might be seeing some from me but they might be built using Variant/Optional Rules...

Got some new characters today, plus more to come throughout the week. Unlike many of their predecessors, all of these characters have seen play in our groups. Some are STILL seeing play. They are each contributed by my friends, who made them, and formatted by me to fit this thread's standards.

NEW CHARACTERS
Ogaro - 8th-level human brute, an urban barbarian known for raiding bars
Shin Takeru - 8th-level human spy, a foreign master of intelligence gathering

Grand Lodge

Sweet.

I like it. Especially the Urban Barbarian. Might just have to convert him to use in my upcoming campaigns.

Thanks RD, this is great...I wish you could post all the new entries your original first post though.

Keep in mind that he built these characters AT level. They've never actually been played after all.

When I make a character, I actually make them level-by-level. It helps keep me from making silly mistakes. If RD does the same, he may actually have their progression levels.

Having the same character at multiple levels is an exception, not the rule here (in other words, I do not normally make them level by level).

If you type in the URL for one of my characters, add a "_2" or "_3" after the end of the character name. Sometimes that will allow you to see a variant of the character (which might have very minor changes, a different point buy, different gear or archetype, be a different level, etc.).

For example, if you go to...
http://www.thefoolscourt.zxq.net/other/pollivar.pdf
...you will get a 16th-level character.

However, if you go to...
http://www.thefoolscourt.zxq.net/other/pollivar_3.pdf
...you will find a 1st-level version of the character that I use in Pathfinder Society (which means it uses 20-point buy and abides by the rules and restrictions of the Society).

(Version 2 is also a 1st-level version of the character which will soon be used in home games and has higher point buy, different feats, and less gear).

Alternatively, you can GO HERE, where I strive to keep an easily accessible archive of everything I post in this thread.

Hopefully this will get me to 200 favorites.

NEW CHARACTERS
Dirgah Hammerhead - 4th-level dwarf pirate; if rumors are to be believed, this old saltbeard is capable of pushing through anything, regardless of malady
Skivven - 9th-level ratfolk plague bearer, a detestable little creature with an affinity for deadly airborn toxins that flies about on his magically enhanced tumor

Special thanks to Alwaysafk for the tumor mount idea!

Quite a disturbing little rat, flying on his fleshy, patchy haired bird. lol. love it!

Dark Knight, The - 12th-level human masked vigilante, a master of martial arts and astute detective who has never failed to bring criminals to justice
Sulern Yoruda - 4th-level halfling pirate of Besmara, a ruthless oceanic druid with a penchant for aerial strikes

ENJOY!

Spoiler:
"Caybun Weer" is an anagram of "Bruce Wayne." :P

Ravingdork is an understatement...

It is with deep appreciation that I review this thread. The characters/NPCs you are crafting are done so with gentle care that sparks the imagination. Your selection of picture with build choices are highly appealing. I used Abikay recently in an evening session of my weekly Pathfinder game, and he really surprised the players.

It is fantastic that you are providing these resources. I cannot thank you enough Ravingdork, and I will endeavor to bring some of these to life at my game table.

I find your work very inspirational, and want to add a thank you for also adding the rule descriptions because it makes running these characters very easy, allowing me to focus on storybuilding and execution and other prep elements such as maps and personalities.

Once again, thank you for this generous sharing of your talent and time.

Regards,
Pax Veritas

Ravingdork, neat stuff. Thank you for sharing. Wondering...any favorites? Not necessarily for OPness but maybe that, or for just synergy or flavor.

In alphabetical order, my favorites are:
Durin Wrang, Macellano Alamander, Sela Kurn, Syrania, and Yiankun.

If I was playing a summoner, it would be Durin. If a fighter: Marcy. A wizard: Sela. A sorcerer: Yiankun. If I were to play an evil character, it would be Syrania.

I'm also beginning to like Nudel more and more just for her awesome and unique killing potential.

I like Nudel. Interesting character.
Seregon is interesting too...for other reasons.

Dark Archive

What is the concept behind Durin?? I love summoners when done right, and this one looks great on paper. Also loving that art for his eidolon.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Not much of a concept with Durin, really. I saw a cool picture of a serpent monster eating halflings and had to stat it out. I imagine Durin fights in combat mounted upon his eidolon whenever possible. When not able to do so, he relies on summoned monsters and deception.

Nudel is easily my favorite, if only for the cinematic effect of literally chomping 90% of the Bestiary in half in one vicious bite.

Can I get a breakdown of Aronnas Caster Levels for Animate Undead? I clearly can't do the math, and just want to see that 196 HD broken up.

Dark Archive

Thanks RD and well halflings being ravaged by a giant serpent monster is just cake haha

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

You're not the first person to ask that Azelyan.

90 HD (CL15 x 6 for Spirit Vessels)
48 HD (CL 8 x 6 for Undead Master feat)
24 HD (CL 4 x 6 for Spell Specialization
12 HD (CL 2 x 6 for Varisian Tattoo)
06 HD (CL 1 x 6 for Orange Prism Ioun Stone)

= 180 HD total

+19 HD for Command Undead

I don't recall where the rest is coming from. It's entirely possible that I miscalculated. If anyone wants to take a crack at it, be my guest.

Wait Undead Master is 4 levels higher. How is CL +8? My same question would be the doubling of Spell Specialization and Varisian Tattoo.

Is there something being applied that doubles them that I don't know about?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Spell Perfection doubles the effects of feats that apply to your perfected spell (animate dead in this case).

As far as I know, the only way to get even more hit dice (besides being higher level) is to play a mystic theurge. Developers have clarified that you track HD separately for arcane and divine casters.

Oh *slaps forehead* Command Undead lets you have additional HD too?

Not gonna lie... I just Squee'd at that...

RD,

Perhaps I just missed it, but can you explain Immortality via lesser astral projection? Specifically the Abjurer with the Sheild Guardian and the high level human diviner.

TCG: I picked it up from this thread. Not everyone seems to agree that it works that way, but then again, this is the internet. People rarely agree on anything.

But you knew that already since you appear to be one of the voices of opposition in that thread.

EDIT: Or maybe not.

I thought that's what you were referring to, but I wasn't sure.

Slight derail:

I think by RAW it would work, but I also think my DM would never allow it to happen.

Late to the party doesn't make me any less appreciative of this, especially as a GM with a campaign right in the sweet spot for your NPCs... Thanks so much!

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Roguerouge, did you find my SKYDRIVE file link several posts above this one? It has all of the characters in one spot, rather than scattered throughout this thread.

But last I checked it didn't have your races.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Check again, Azaelas. I'm pretty sure I added them in shortly after I put up the link. Let me know if you think there is anything else missing.

Stupid Google Chrome and it not easily reloading...

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

This was one I've been wanting to do for a long time. I finally got it to feel right.

NEW CHARACTERS
Guinn Black - 10th-level catfolk marauder, a fearsome plains barbarian known for his deadly lightning strikes

Grand Lodge

Azaelas Fayth wrote:

Why no Firefox?

Why does Guinn Black use a +5 str composite bow instead of Adaptative?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

He ran out of starting funds and I REALLY wanted him to have feather step slippers so he could charge over difficult terrain.

EDIT: Upon double-checking, the math is really off (it was late). I'm going to have to make some minor changes.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

CHARACTER UPDATES
Guinn has had his starting equipment corrected. Among other things, I didn't take into account the new prices for amulet of mighty fists, so now that I've got that fixed up he is a fair bit more formidable than before.

Once per day he can move up to his speed as a swift action. Three times per day he can grant himself a +10-foot enhancement bonus to his speed as a swift action. Combined with his other abilities, this means he is capable of pouncing on an enemy from over 280 feet away or sprinting 490 feet in a single round, all while ignoring difficult terrain. He has an estimated top speed of just over 43 miles per hour.

His new stalker's mask also allows him to better sneak up on targets while freaking them the hell out slasher-movie style.

Stalker's Mask!?

Stalkers mask gives a bonus to stealth, disguise, and attack rolls, but under specific circumstances, still a good item.

Stalker's mask.

And yes, he wonders the plains wearing the faces of his enemies.

So you made a Catfolk Leather Face?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I'm gonna say no on the basis that I don't know who that is.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre IIRC

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Ah. I did not know him by that name.

Actually, I was inspired by the anime, Guin Saga.

That's the series I have been looking for!

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Playing now on Netflix.

I was looking for the Manga of it...

I strangely only like some Anime.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Either I've grown out of it over the last few years, or the quality of anime has gone WAY down. Either way, I seldom watch it anymore.

Guinn Saga isn't bad though. Good action and plot. Voice actors could be better though.
