Nudel the Protector - are the "hurled tail spikes" coming from the "+0 furious throwing amulet of mighty fists"?
Yes.
Yiankun Lee has an Amulet of Proof Against Petrification, but I can't find this item. Is it a custom item or from an older edition?
It's in Ultimate Equipment, as Fayth says.

Hmm, I must have mistyped it when I did a search of my UE PDF. This early after the release, I don't trust everything to be available, so I searched the PDF and didn't find it either. That's good to know.

Azaelas Fayth wrote:Wait is a Throwing AoMF legal? If so that would be awesome! Are there enchantments that can't be put on an amulet of mighty fists?
Yes.
Alternatively, this amulet can grant melee weapon special abilities, so long as they can be applied to unarmed attacks.
You can't 'throw' an unarmed strike.
Tels |
If the AoMF text said "applied to unarmed strikes or natural attacks" it would work. But unarmed attacks are only unarmed strikes, and unarmed strikes can't be detached, or they're no longer unarmed strikes.
Personally, I see no problem with putting Throwing on an AoMF since many creatures have a natural ranged attack, like Manticores for example.
Ravingdork |
Who said anything about detachment? I picture it like fighting with chi, or using a magical force similar to blood crow strike (at least in regards to unarmed strikes).
I'm still not seeing why you think this wouldn't work. The whole point of the throwing property is to allow melee weapons to work at range when they normally wouldn't.

The only way it would work is if you could throw yourself at someone without moving, because you cannot detach a limb as part of attacking.
Even if you could detach a limb, then the Amulet would no longer effect the limb, as it is no longer part of the body that the Amulet is effectingRavingdork |
CHARACTER UPDATES
- Pollivar Mormont, though technically not updated, now has a 1st-level version of himself, which can be found here. He was made for an upcoming Rise of the Runelords game that my friends will be starting, and thus feature traits from that adventure path's player's guide. He is officially the first 1st-level character in the Emporium. :D
- Sela Kurn is now an even better master dispeller, failing a dispel check against an equally-powerful spellcaster only on a natural 1.

Meh, I've had to change him up some* since the GM had me roll starting funds rather than use the average (I rolled 100gp, instead of 175 or better, lame).
If you use him, I also recommend replacing his chain shirt with brigandine armor (use the stats for kikko armor). It is both cheaper and offers more protection (though it slows him down a little).
* Though I haven't updated him on here, nor do I plan to.

I have had moments like that... One time I rolled minimum on a Fighter. It was a Low WBL game...
Azaelas Fayth |
I should clarify by one time I mean yesterday.
The game is postponed for a little bit...
I am being allowed to craft everything for 1/2 its market price if I have the skill trained and can make the DC on a Take 20 preferably Take 10.
Thank god I am going Lore Warden with High Rolled Stats...
I am thinking:
All 0GP weapons.
Pathfinder's Kit.
Armoured Coat.
Unsure on anything else.

Hama, and Maleficent, Ursala and most any other power-mad witch were the inspiration for her.
I absolutely love intelligent villains who aren't afraid to show off their powers.
The original Hama wouldn't qualify. She kept her water bending powers a necessary secret save on the nights of the full moon.

Maybe not to the Fire Nation, but Hama was certainly eager to show her powers to Katara. In the span of an afternoon and evening, Hama showed Katara how to suck water out of plants, form them into weapons, literally vaporize trees, and even how to bloodbend.
I think that qualifies as eager.

Showing off your powers to one person in 20 years isn't exactly "Unafraid to show off her abilities" She only showed them to Katara because she was looking for a successor. She didn't use her powers in public even during that episode, she did not dare.

Speaking of Helgur, any chance on a level 20 version of her? :D she's my favorite of them all... Would love to see a level 20 mythic version!
I don't think 20+mythic really suits the setting. Not to rehash the "Gandalf is a 5th level MU thread" but not every character we like in a series needs to be considered godlike.
I don't think anyone in that setting gets the mythic tag, save a fully realized Avatar. And perhaps the Lion-Turtle.
BTW if you're looking for a D20 look at these characters, I'd suggest that people search the Element Bending Monk thread that is still up here somewhere.
Haskul |
Yeah... I never thought oh, Helgur needs to be level 20 because I thought Hama was that awesome. I think Helgur should be level 20 because I like Helgur! I'd level her up myself but i'd just feel dirty doing that, much better to have RD do it... Then print it off and frame it... Use it for musing and such....write some fan fiction... Torture a party of PC's with a level 20 sorcress and an army of level 10 simulacrums bombarding them from Helch Barad.

Please feel free to use the following characters in your home games in whatever manner you wish (but please don't use them elsewhere, such as in your personal novel).

Oh i wouldn't ever do that. That would require talent and time which i just don't have. I was just trying to come off overly dramatic and comedic about Helgur. I guess that doesn't translate well in text. ;)

CHARACTER UPDATES
- Pollivar Mormont (1st-level variant) has been updated to include a 2-page character backstory that better connects him with the beginnings of the Rise of the Runelords adventure path and has also had a few equipment changes. I don't normally write two-page backstories, but my GM insisted that he know everything there was to know about the character: age, height, weight, family, history, number of hairs on his head, etc.
:P

Can you Whetstone an Arrow! if so that is awesome!
Why not whetstone all of your arrows so they all get the bonus?
It's debatable. I started a thread on it some time ago.
But to answer your question: Time. At 15 minutes per arrow, it would take 5 hours to sharpen a single quiver's worth.

Wow. Sounds to me like some people in that thread would allow a fiendish creature to punch, but not claw someone warded by Protection from Alginment spells.

CHARACTER UPDATES
- Fultor Spellbreaker
- Meglin Dee
- Naya Foreteller
- Nudel the Protector
- Vallairs Urn
Made several minor layout/formatting adjustments that I had overlooked previously. Added the guided weapon property to druid weapons where beneficial (simply too good to pass up). Meglin had her bear form's speed corrected, as I neglected the speed penalty for wearing medium armor before. Fultor removed Stubborn as it conflicted with other racial traits.

Obviously, you weren't paying attention in your studies. ;P
I was... I just can't focus on only one thing or my mind shuts down...
I think when you said it I was in the middle of building a Chaacter, Map, or Encounter.
P.S.: On the AotG. You might want to at least drop in... As I made some changes that give you some major options.
