This thread has gone silent for awhile. No one want to discuss this fantastic module? I just finished a first read through and plan to put my players through it as soon as they hit 5th level.
Holding out for the books. I haven't looked forward to an adventure so much since Rappan Athuk and RotRLAE last year. :)

I bow down to your obviously superior gaming skills!! Unfortunately, Uncle Sam, and the Family seem to eat up a lot of my time. Last night, was the first time I have been able to game in 9 months. :( Getting sent to far away places puts a crimp on things. I am just happy that we had a great time last night, and look forward to more gaming goodness. I also didn't have to GM, which was a nice change of pace.
I hope everyone is getting their game on!
Cheers,

I was being sarcastic, but being out of work I have a lot more time to game than usual at present. Unfortunately Uncle Sam laid me off. I put it to the regular players about putting Tsar on hold to let someone else DM and they stated that I am running 4 games due to popular demand, grr:( I did lose it a bit after running 3 days in a row today and quit 45 minutes early. Too tired. Believe me, I would rather be working and go back to gaming once a week.

I could not wait for the books, and got the PDF's. I don't like the new wizard thing (tikiman)... i love the disciple but not sure how to let players play it....

Very nice, although I don't use Golarion as a setting and prefer using the setting it was intended for, The Lost World. Then again I never used Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms or Eborron either, preferring third party settings with the exception of Dragonlance.
Just curious why that is Brvheart? Not that it is bad, I like to use them also, just interested in why others do also.

I guess it is because when I started playing in 1980 I was living in the heart of Judges Guild territory. You could buy lots of JG stuff, but very little TSR stuff besides manuals. Besides that the JG stuff was generally better when it came to adventures and no one touched the Wilderlands as a setting at the time.
When we went to 3.0 we looked at the three settings that where available at the time, Kingdoms of Kalamar was too low magic, Forgotten Realms was too high magic and the Scarred Lands which was more moderate and also more moderate in price.
I have found third party publishers to be generally more imaginative and a better bang for the buck. I would rather pay for content than glitz which is what I tend to find from the 1st line stuff. Paizo is kind of a cross and they have a lot of talented designers. I just have not seen the need to use their setting as I have plenty of my own and others that I have acquired throughout the years. I run a Dragonlance campaign, one in Erde, one in the Scarred Lands and as most of my stuff of late is Necromancer/FGG have decided to start a Lost World Campaign. I also have my own world Eostros and still run a Wilderlands Campaign upon occasion. We also have all the Thieves World stuff. So what need have I for prepackaged campaigns from WOTC and Paizo? Even my DL stuff is from Margaret Weiss Productions.

Hey there! The plot web was provided as a download accessible through a bit of free software called xMind. It grew too dense and complicated to be anything other than a tool GMs would develop further for themselves. However, Realmworks has some built in plot web tools that I hear will work well. Haven't seen it myself, yet.
Not sure where the Frogs are keeping the downloadable plot web files, but a quick email over at Frog God Games should get you an answer.
An NPC web is a great idea! Would love to see it if you make one and here more about your RC session.

Realmworks itself is not scheduled to be out until July and probably awhile after that for the Razor Coast files. I didn't get in on the Kickstarter for it as it will not support RA or ST and I don't feel like doing all that work myself. I will wait and see how it works and probably get it once it all comes out depending on the reviews. My players just made 3rd level on the lead up for RC so it will be a bit before I can start so I haven't looked into the plot web beyond the initial peek. Spending more time reading all of the pdfs and am now about finished with Fire As She Bears on which I have conversion questions.
I second the NPC web idea.

My players just completed The Wormwood Mutiny and are level 4. Largely awaiting the HeroLab files to begin now. I have them aboard a new ship heading toward Port Shaw and will have enough encounters and stops along the way for them to get to 5th. Am chomping at the bit now.
Soon Brvheart....soon....
We have finished our review and have things ready, but they have to be approved by LW before we can finish the process....(Can't say more than that yet or I wont get any flies for breakfast. May have said too much already. hehehe)

5-6 it should work as written, and it's not a bad lead-in to Razor Coast a couple of different ways. I wouldn't go for 4 4th-level players, though, without reworking some of the later encounters.
Some thoughts on connecting it to RC:
- the main bad guy of Scorned comes from a "city far away." That could be Port Shaw. You could consider setting up a revenge scenario and making him/her a relative of Barrison Hargrove. Or wanted for a big reward, dead/alive in Port Shaw -- but you need to present the body. Then in Port Shaw they learn that offer of a reward was from the previous governor. Not the current (and make it a lie, even).
- the riverboat need not crash apart. It could lose a rudder and sweep them all out to sea. Just have the Whiterush empty into the ocean.
- the local lords (Greaves? Can't recall) could 'reward' the PCs with holdings in the colonies over the ocean; only when the PCs arrive those properties are problematic in the extreme or gone entirely, in Tulita lands, in Blacksink Marsh (heh heh), under quicksand, recently wiped out in a slave revolt, etc. etc.
Just noodling.

Will have to make sure I have enough players, but this looks like a good tie in for Razor's Coast. Hopefully the hard copy gets here before the game so I don't have to run it from pdf.

I have a question about the head shrinker ranger archetype. The first power he gets, the heads that store spirits, which ranger ability does it replace?
I went back and forth about this for a while, and when I checked my notes and earlier drafts I initially intended it to replace favored enemy. However in keeping with the archetype's overall theme and power level it's better suited to replace wild empathy.

I ended up with 8 players for my game for the Scorned module.

I think another good idea would be to have an "NPC Web," with a few new keywords or phrases to refresh my memory. If there's nothing out there from the authors or the community, I might work on one myself.
I want to write one up using Realm Works when it comes out. I Will see about posting the stuff when its done.

brvheart |

I did not get in on the RealmWorks kickstarter, but will look at it when it comes out. With no support for RA and ST and having to wait that long for RC support, it was not worth it for me to do so. If my RC campaign is still in its early stage when that comes out then I will consider it. Yeah, I am too impatient I guess. I want to run Razor Coast as soon as I can, what can I say? I am psyched, my players are psyched! A few more weeks and they will be of level for us to start!

The Rot Grub |

I have a rules question. (By the way, is there a board for Razor Coast discussion?)
In the Freebooter's Guide, it says the Fighter archetype Buccaneer has the following ability:
Derring-Do (Ex): At 5th level, a buccaneer deals extra damage until the end of his turn whenever his movement through an enemy's threatened area would provoke an attack of opportunity...
So, if the buccaneer uses Acrobatics to avoid an attack of opportunity, would the extra damage from Derring-Do still apply?
Since this archetype gives Acrobatics as a class skill, it would make this archetype much more appealing to my players. I'm going to assume the answer is yes, since the loss of medium and heavy armor proficiency is a big deal.
