Helgarr |

I was thinking that since maybe Helgarr is using a reach weapon, that would not be necessary? But if it is needed, charge she will :D

Cleo Gingerberry |

whoops crit damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 thanks ali.

DM TreasureFox |

Furnok Acrobatics: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6
The goblins shriek in fear as the party launches their assault upon the little demons. The goblin dog rears on its hind legs just as Maria fires her magic arrow from her hiding spot. The arrow veers as if guided by the magical hatred of its enchantment, and catches the armored leader between the shoulder blades. As he hollers in pain, he quickly bloats up before exploding in a magical blast, his belongings thrown across the ground.
Ali takes up the moment to fire his crossbow at a nearby grey goblin who stood paralyzed by the sudden death of its leader. The bolt catches the goblin by one side of the nose and out the other, giving him a free piercing.
Cleo also takes a shot from her longbow, catching another grey goblin between the eyes. Its eyes roll into the back of its head before the lifeless body crumples on the ground.
Then Mar'a pulls her crossbow on another grey goblin, striking it in the heart. The goblin shrieks with pain before his hands alight with fire. He then becomes a goblin torch before falling to the ground burnt to a crisp.
Again charge the mighty Azeri, Helgarr and Furnok. Azeri smashes a goblin into the dirt with his massive claw, while Helgarr decapitates another one. Furnok however slipped on a piece of dog poop and landed head first in front of a very agitated mutated green dog. It growls at Furnok before bearing its bloodstained fangs.
Ali, hope you don't mind if I switched your target. Wanted your crit to mean something, even if the damage wasn't much.
Goblin Leader [DEAD], Mutated Dog [0 dmg], Green Goblin [DEAD], Goblins A-C [DEAD], Goblin D [3 dmg], Goblin E [0 dmg]
Group 1 in the sorted initiative can now begin.

No problem at all. Thanks.
Ali steps forward, reloading his crossbow and moving closer to the group, glancing around, making sure they were not about to be ambushed.

'Try save the dog. We don't need more innocent creatures dying!' He thought at Azeri, a clear feeling of sadness and anger accompanying the thought.

Azerienzal |

'Already on it kid. Just keep your eyes up and your ass out of trouble!'
Azeri took a step in, beside the mutated dog and lashed out, sending first one, then the second claw, slashing towards the horrible twisted creature.
Attack 1-1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Attack 2-1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
He raked his claws hard across the muzzle and flank of the vicious brute, wanting to call its attention away from the dog and the humans fighting beside him.

Seeing the bulk of the melee fighters at the dog and filled with confidence from her last shot Maria turns and looses her arrow at goblin c. bow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 and slings the bow over her shoulder and draws her dagger in preparation to charge towards the remaining goblins.

Helgarr |

Helgarr sidestepped and spun, bringing her weapon to bear full force at the next goblin facing her - this time however, she twisted the bladed end, aiming for a non-lethal strike.
Bardiche, non-lethal: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 - 4 = 7
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Her efforts to capture one of the creatures seem to work against her, as the swing is awkward and miscalculated.

DM TreasureFox |

With Furnok's face not a foot away from the snarling creature, things looked rather painful in the near future... at least for the mutated dog anyways. Little did it realized that Azeri was on the hunt, and the bear-man clawed it into a swift death. Maria loosed an arrow which flew into the distance, while Ali and Furnok regain their bearings.
Since the mounted goblin and his mount are both dead, our turn skips to Mar'a and Cleo. Helgarr will likely have to change her action when it is her turn.
Goblin Leader [DEAD], Mutated Dog [DEAD], Green Goblin [DEAD], Goblins A-C [DEAD], Goblin D [3 dmg], Goblin E [0 dmg]

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo winced as her arrow struck the goblin. She understood they were evil, would kill, eat or worse to any townsfolk they could catch... but it was still the first sentient creature she had ever killed.
But they had to be stopped. Deep breath and release.
ranged: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 including the point blank shot

Helgarr |

After the success of that action, I don't mind changing it :D

DM TreasureFox |

Fun fact, the goblin that Cleo killed wasn't actually evil, but there's no way she would know.

Sling vs Helgarr FF: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

With a deep breath Cleo drew and released an arrow which struck one of the remaining goblins in the heart. For a moment, the dumbfounded goblin seemed to shake out of its frenzy, gazing blankly at the blood flowing out of the wound onto his hand which clasped its chest. It then knelt on its knees before curling up on the ground. Closing its eyes, the goblins chest slowly stopped until it lay motionless.
Mar'a raises her hand to point at the remaining goblin before speaking an arcane syllable. A sudden flash of light emanates from her finger to strike the goblin in the head. He stands there dazed, gazing into the distance.
This however was not the end, for three goblins appeared to be hiding on top of the north gate rampart. The goblins shrieked out "Kill them, quick!" in the goblin tongue before all three of them loosed a hail of stones from their slings. Two of the shots strike true, but Furnok manages to sidestep at the very last moment. Azeri takes 3 damage! Helgarr takes 4 damage!
Goblin Leader [DEAD], Mutated Dog [DEAD], Green Goblin [DEAD], Goblins A-C [DEAD], Goblin D [3 dmg, Dazed], Goblin E [DEAD], Goblin Slingers A-C [0 dmg]
If you would like to get into melee with the slingers, you will either have to race up the stairs (total of 45ft movement from your current position), or make a climb check (20ft movement + 10ft climbing). They have partial cover.
Next up is Helgarr, followed by group 1 (Furnok, Ali, Azeri, Maria), followed by group 3 (Cleo, Mar'a). Feel free to post ahead, but I'll consider your action to be after the ones in the groups before you. (did that make sense?)
If you would like to keep your old action (knocking the goblin out with the flat of your bardiche) I am willing to spend a DM Intervention to make it succeed.

Helgarr |

I would indeed like to make that my action - do I get to go again, or is this my action for the round?

DM TreasureFox |

- I'd like to see an interrogation
- You've been wanting to capture a goblin this entire time
- I really go out of my way to reward players who try to go beyond "Hey there's a thing... kill it!"

Helgarr |

At first it seemed the barbarian's swing was not well placed, aimed at a particularly strong midsection portion of the opposing goblin, but Helgarr managed to twist the weapon at the very last moment, a seemingly impossible maneuver.
"Hah!" - the woman grunted with the effort as the bardiche veered upwards, striking the creature square on its chest with a flat end, and completely knocking its wind out as it flied through the air to hit the wall with a dull THUD.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Great hit!
Cleo will stay near Ali, firing up at any goblins in the open.

"Nice and unstabby back here, isn't it?" Ali smiled at the Cleric of Erastil.

Azeri took a moment, glancing around him, looking for a faster way up to the Goblins.

Well I guess THAT isn't going to get me anything. So one success will get me 5ft up the wall, moving 20 ft and climbing the rest, right? Then I can move up with a second climb check?
He dashed towards the wall and began to climb, digging his claws in to the stone work, to give himself purchase.

He had managed to get about half way up the wall before he had to slow for a moment, spotting another hand hold, to get him the last few feet.

Maria grins back at Ali. I'm not giving that curse up until I've seen her bottom for myself you perv!

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo starts to smile at the good natured blasphemy, but does not want to tempt the gods, especially a fickle goddess of beauty. The pretty ones are always the worst... in gods, cousins, and just about everything.

DM TreasureFox |

With a superhuman swing, Helgarr launches the goblin 20ft before smacking into the wall.
Furnok and Azeri are first to charge over to the goblin slingers. Furnok goes the long way in order to safely do some goblin whacking, while Azeri dares for climbing the wall. Using his claws for secure handholds, the bear-man manages to pull himself up to a very scared, one eared goblin face.
Our miniature troop of archers cover for their allies, successfully shooting a goblin through the ear just before Azeri pulls himself up.

Helgarr |

As the others seem to have the matters well in hand, Helgarr moves to the fallen, unconscious goblin, strips him of any valuables and/or weaponry, and retrieving a rope from her pack, binds and gags him securely - "We'll have some words later on"

As Azeri goes in to swipe at the goblin, it manages to tumble out of the way. Using the momentum, it leaps off from the rampart and lands on its feet at the bottom. Without a second glance, it races as fast as possible into the woods, never to return.
A feeling of relief washes over you as the screams, singing, and barking all reside into near complete silence. All that can be heard is the odd burning cart or stall.
Combat is over. You have an unconscious goblin that Helgarr has secured, a man hiding behind a rainwater barrel, a dog who wanders close to you, and you might see Ameiko running up to you from the center of town. Oh and there be loots if you look.

Azerienzal |

Azeri stands there mystified for a moment, before laughing and leaning casually on the parapet, watching the Goblin go. "Fly free you magnificent little bastard you..." Shaking his head, Azeri turned and began to walk down, back to Ali. "You won't even believe..."

DM TreasureFox |

Moving things along slightly as I'm going to be out for the next 8-10 hours.
Seeing that the goblins have been dealt with, the man behind the barrel straightens up and regains some of his dignity. The dog nearby then races over to him with its tail wagging furiously. He kneels down to pet the dog affectionately, smiling brightly before standing back up and walking towards the group.
"Excuse me, sirs and ladies, I just wanted to thank you so very much for saving my dog. I am Aldern Foxglove at your service." He makes a generous bow. "Could I have the honor of knowing the names of my saviors?"

![]() |

I am Maria the Great, Master juggler and magician as well as several skills to come, and absolute pants with a bow. She says as she gathers her arrows and starts looting goblin bodies (both tied up and corpses) I'm glad we could help your dog. She says as she takes a brief moment to scratch it behind it's ears.

Helgarr |

Helgarr moves closer, dragging the tied up goblin - "Well met, I am Helgarr - are you unhurt?"

Cleo Gingerberry |

"Cleo." the halfling says with a quick smile to the man, then turning her attention to the cute dog.
"Mean old goblins tried to eat you didn't they, but you're too quick aren't you" Scratching his head, and slipping into speak with animals without really thinking about it to make sure he isn't hurt.
Cleo would have waited to channel until most of the injured party was around, healing only for 2 but 2 is better than 1 I guess. So if treasure is fine with the delay of the previous action, everyone can get 2 hit points back.

M'ara |

Mar'a rises from behind her cart, "Hello, Aldern. I am Mar'a." she says simply, nodding to Cleo in thanks for her healing channel.
She adopts a businesslike demeanor, dragging dead goblins to a central area, then systematically searching the bodies for anything of use....

Alandrian Verium |

Ali smiles and is about to reply to Azeri when he catches sight of Helgarr. With a small frown, the teenage boy walks over to the woman, and stands there, staring down at the unconscious Goblin, tied up at her feet.
"U van plan op hem ondervragen? Ja, ik kan vertellen. Azeri en ik zal helpen!"
He cocked his head at the woman, before staring down at the Goblin once again. "We can be very persuasive, we can."
If Helgarr does not mind, Ali has a +4 on Bluff, Diplomacy and Intimidate. Azeri has a +4 on Sense Motive, they have the skills that pay the bills. Incidentally... Has anyone read the series "The Blade Itself" by Joe Abercrombie? Because if you have... It might just get a lil Sand Dan Glokta / Practical Frost, up in here. Fair warning.

Helgarr |

Cleo will keep an eye out for other goblins, not wanting to fire into the melee. Once it is all over she'll channel her faith to heal those around her, just a little at least.
"Thank you Cleo" - Helgarr nods - "The hand of Old Deadeye surely rests on your shoulder"
------------------------
"On, dar an daan hac - A dac duun akaagac dec tuun dhaal duuch ken akhalec a duul kelaan SAndpoint. Ar dan al'duun tolerthach" - Helgarr answers Ali.
"Yes, that is the plan - I want to understand why so few would risk attacking a town like Sandpoint. It was almost suicidal"
Helgarr doesn't mind at all - even though she has some Diplomacy and Intimidate skills, the plan was to surrender the goblin for you more skillful folk to question ;)

I know you don't know this ic and I don't speak goblin, but just saying, I'm the one who's supposed to be psychotically scary.
