You might have explained that when the king asked me to go to the festival, that my character would be traveling a month from the court.
Is there any other pertinent information my character would possess that I should know before you use it in your NPC arguments? For instance, from the knowledge local check results, I know Maester Keaton was a royal advisor. Do I know why he is no longer? Any information you can share would be helpful. WARNING - RANT BEGINS: It doesn't seem fair to use what is obvious to all the characters involved, but which has not been explained to the players involved - END RANT =)
All that having been said, as the scene was already going when I came in, I rolled with it. If you want the party to head out, I'll go along with it, but my instructions were to get this "cure" to the king. If the king is a month away, that could be two months for me to be able to join a party heading out into the wilds. Please advise.

My apologies for any lack of information. what you should know and will help with your next post is that it would be a month's travel to the castle by normal roads, but if you paid the toll on the kings road, it would only take 2 weeks. I do forget what i have and have not told people, but this is my mistake not yours and i apologize for frustrating you.
You do not know why he left, except the he left after the old king died. If i ever lack to give information, please call me out on it so that you don't feel like your getting the short end of the stick.

Since the king wants this "cure" in his hands, am I to understand that I need to get it (recipe and sample/recipe only) to him straight away or should I expect to join the party in going out to the hinterlands for the ingredients? The former completes my task to for the king, the latter keeps me in the game but disobeying my orders from the king.

Sorry to hear about the move (and more specificly its cause).
I think you forgot Rae and Kieran on that list, bringing us to 8. 7 if Rae is MIA. I only asked because it seemed like a lot. I tend to prefer groups of about 6 max. I'll stick it out for now though, see how things go. :)
Is the Heal skill just used to stabilize someone and keep them from going below 0 or is it also used kinda like a heal spell to heal damage.
I.E. could I use it to patch someone up without using magical means or is it more like a skill used to keep someone from dying?

Heal has many uses. One of which is stabilize, which as mentioned stops someone from dying once they reach negative hit points and not making their fortitude save.
It can also be used for speeding up natural recovery, best if used just before a party rests.There's more detail at the online pathfinder srd.
with everything going on in my life right now i have to delay any further posts until after the holidays are over, too much traveling and moving and dealing with break up =(
I understand. That can be some pretty rough stuff, especially with it happening around the holidays.

I have had a similar situation in a pbp game and made the trip delayed due to weather, leaving all the PC's together to pass the time in a central location,,,,
A storytelling XP is also a good motivation

you guys can totally feel free to roleplay out time spent in the inn or the town for the rest of the night with each other (obviously i won't be able to play the npcs) and i'll definitely give RP exp
Like I said in the OOC, I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing, just kind of going where the flow allows. Feel free to join in or ignore me as you will.
Also, the core rulebook says that a 15 on perception can hear the details of a whispered conversation or find the average concealed door so I made a guess that with a 16, Canor would be able to somewhat see into a gloomy barn. Maybe not crystal clear but at least general outlines, I've only played in a handful of games and never GM'd before, so I guessed, if I guessed wrong just ignore that last bit.

okay...so it would seem that life has decided to kick a man while he is down...my grandfather has just been admitted to the hospital....with all this craziness going on in my life I have to step away from games, as I just don't have the mind to be able to run worrying about all this crap going on in my life right now =(
