What's your opinion on Japanese RPGs?
And have you ever played mana khemia? I'm not going to spoil what it is or the ending for you, even if you give me the first copies of inner sea races and distant shores (and yes I so want them but I will not be tempted ;P )
What's your opinion of pony finder? Mine was what the heck!? Someone actually combine pathfinder and my little ponies!??!?
Have you played Diablo III? What is your favorite class?
If someone wanted to convert the crusader class from diablo 3 (as well as the paladin class from diablo ii) into an archetype for the paladin how would you do it?How far has the worship of the empyreal lords spread throughout the inner sea?

I approve of Ponyfinder. The more folks who adopt and expand Pathfinder, the better!
I have played Diablo III, but only once as a demon hunter and I got bored with the game before I finished.
You can find empyreal lord worship throughout the Inner Sea region, but not in an even spread. In some areas (like Magnimar) some are worshiped more than others, and in others (like Razmiran) they're not really worshiped at all.

I ask in particular because I've looked before for the term "Wu Jen" used anywhere and in any way besides the D&D class specifically (including trying to plug it into translation engines), and come up with nothing.

I suspect it was probably a combination of a desire to come up with a word that was brand new and made up so that TSR would own the name, and perhaps some super-obscure word or maybe even misunderstanding that Gygax or someone knew or made.

Wu comes up as shaman on wikipedia from a google search and that is half-way there. That came up by searching for Chinese sorcerer
Some possible variant spellings of Jen would be:
1. Jian- chinese double edged straight sword (wikipedia) or long sword (oriental adventures p. 21)
2. Jien- a Buddhist Japanese poet
3. Chin- state of Chin
Using Jian could give sorcerer sword or perhaps martial sorcerer
Using Jien would just be throwing in a historical name
Using Chin would basically be saying Chinese Sorcerer or Sorcerer from Chin(a)
(Edit: I bet the chose Wu Chin and just altered the spelling to make it not so obvious. I know I do things like that with names.)
I think that makes a pretty compelling argument but is on;y a guess as I have no connection to Wizards or TSR or any of those guys

Are there any plans to have players visit worlds that feature superheroes and supervillains?
A gm told me that all of non core rulebook races are broken. I've looked but I don't see how they're broken. Is this gm incorrect? And yes this gm is the one who believes that if it's not in the core book it's broken or not suitable for play. <_<
And for the comics do y'all send the individual comics to comic book stores or do you plan on sending them to bookstores as well? I ask because I work at books a million and we have had several people ask about if we are going to get any in.
Can you offer any tips or advice or suggestions on writing APs? I ask as I plan on writing up a campaign that I started several years ago and I plan on finishing it up. But I was concerned that I might be biting off more than I can handle here.

Writing out an AP is a HUGE job. My biggest bit of advice is to give yourself time to do so. We try to give our authors 3 months to write a single installment, which means that if you were to write all 6, I'd probalby expect it to take over a year.

Wow! Thank you so much! We didn't know if it was Dynamite or Paizo who did the comics. And to let you know that both Pathfinder and D&D 5e are huge right now. We can't keep the books in stock most of the time!

Now, this caused me some problems in the past:
Do you recommend using random generators for stuff like treasures, monsters, npcs, maps of dungeons, etc.? I know some people do and others don't but do you personally think they are useful? I'm asking as I goofed on my first Pathfinder adventure: I used a random treasure generator and by the time the adventure was over, the party was at level 3 and had gained I think somewhere around 15,000-20,000 gold pieces worth of art objects, gems, jewelry, trade goods, and coins.

So James. If you ever develop Arcadia in the pathfinder world. Is there anyway I can make myself available to be a helpful resource? I have a masters degree in theology specializing in alternative and historical religions. Amateur archeologist specializing in native american (mostly northern and canadian tribes). As well as owning and studying many ethnographies of many varying native american tribes. I have also developed many native american flavored magic items, and organizations that I had hoped to submit to rpg superstar (but didn't because I lacked confidence, and thought no one would be interested). Just wanted to know if I could ever be of assistance? As i believe it can be done quite tastefully.

It's hands down the best movie of this year. Might well be my favorite action movie ever.
Distant Shores will be a bit of both; vague and exact, depending on the chapter and topic and author.

I generally place things by hand, but when I have writer's block or need inspiration, the random generators are handy. I just don't let myself be slaved by the random generators. They're there to spur ideas, not replace them.

I believe it can be done tastefully as well, and if we DO do something significant with Arcadia, I would hope we'll bring in either consultants or experts on the topic. Best case scenario—we can hire someone with that background to write the book or parts of the book. How we go about finding that person or those people, and whether or not we can actually go forward with that plan due to how much it'd cost, and when would be the best time to do so is all still very much up in the air.

How is it that the Eye of Abednego protects The Shackles? Couldn't Cheliax or another invading nation, you know, go around it?

Does a cavalier's banner being attached to a spear or lance make sense to you? It feels to me like if you attacked things with that spear or lance you'd get your banner covered in blood and stuff. While some characters might go for that image, I tended to feel like historical standard bearers didn't poke things so much as stand there and try not to get hit.
And speaking of warfare, what's Kyonin's military like? The militaries of places like Brevoy, Molthune and stuff are discussed in Inner Sea Combat, but Kyonin is conspicuously absent. How do the elves of Golarion conduct warfare? What are their tactics like? I get that archers are important to them, that's generally assumed of elves, but what about the other types of troops: infantry, cavalry, artillery, etc.?
Infantry is something that interests me in particular. What is the average elven infantryperson like? Do they prefer swords like the Romans or spears like the Greeks? Do they do things like shield walls/phalanxes? Do they do things like throw javelins before closing into melee? What are their formations like?

True, they'll see us coming, but we are one of the mightiest military powers in the known world, and they're a ragtag collection of backstabbing unorganized rabble, and given sheer superior numbers, funding, equipment, organization, and let's not forget our infernal backup, it really would not hurt us much if they knew we were coming. What say you, sir?"

It just feels like with the banner any character who takes the Cavalier class is pretty much restricted to lances on horseback or longspears on foot, since those are the only ways you can carry the banner without using a sashimono, which is off-model for the kinds of figures I'm interested in emulating (The Black Company, Julius Caesar, etc.)

Time spent playing Total War is time NOT spent playing Pillars of Eternity or Bloodborne or Dragon Age Inquisition, OR time not spent watching Fury Road. So, by definition, ANY time spent playing Total War is too much. :P

I don't have a Playstation, so I CAN'T play Bloodborne. And I have to finish reading The Calling, playing through Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II, and then reading Asunder, The Masked Empire and First Flight, as well as the graphic novel omnibus before I can even THINK about Inquisition! And in Pillars of Eternity I've got no clue what I'm doing. *sigh*
How do you manage to enjoy all these things given how busy your job makes you? When I get home from work all I wanna do is sleep!

You mentioned that the mythic rules make the characters like superheroes. So if we had characters visit a world with superheroes like superman batman spider man iron man the hulk etc, we would have to use the mythic rules for those heroes?
How do the different religions conduct weddings? Say for example a Shelynite wedding, a calistra wedding, a wedding done by followers of the black butterfly, arshea wedding, or an erastil wedding. How would these different faiths conduct the weddings?
How do the different faiths conduct funerals?

I am asking this in regards to the phony traitorous VC/ Decemvirate member in Eyes of the Ten.
Have you Read the Nine Prices of Amber Series? If so how would you create a set of cards similar Magic trump cards the major characters used to communicate with.
Is there something similar to Morganti weapons from the Vlad Taltos novels by Steven Brust in Golarion.

James, did you know that Iron Gods is currently your most highly rated Adventure Path according to reviews? (Followed by Reign of Winter and Skull & Shackles.)
I hope that is encouraging to see.
Are you optimistic that Paizo can continue to push the envelope with APs like those three that strongly diverge from "standard" fantasy? Are you encouraged by the appetite that we, your customers, have for such things making their way into Pathfinder?
I know there are also many customers who don't have an appetite for these types of stories. Do you feel Paizo gives them enough of what they want too?

The rules as written for a Sorcerer with the Crossblooded archetype say she knows one less spell per spell level than normal...does that literally mean she would learn NO spells of a level in which she would receive 1 new known spell?
For instance, a 4th level Sorcerer would ordinarily gain access to 2nd-level spells, and learn one 2nd-level spell....a Crossblooded Sorcerer would learn none and have to wait til 5th level? That seems immoderately harsh. I would think the 'minimum 1' exception should be applicable here.
If you're not comfortable with your GM rendering a ruling, I won't be able to help. In any event, this is a rules question and should be directed to the rules forums for an FAQ tagging.

I think so, yes.
As for weddings and funerals... that's a page or two of details per deity. Not something I can answer here; my advice would be to read the deity's entry in Inner Sea Gods and if it doesn't specifically say, extrapolate.

I just got the omnibus book of The Shackled City AP and I am BLOWN AWAY by how awesome it is as a whole! It's actually what brought Paizo to my attention when I'd read the old issues of Dragon and Dungeon in the old Just Thinking Bookstore many years ago, and I finally found a copy.
I had a few questions regarding tweaking it to Pathfinder:
2) Considering that beholders don't exist on Golarion, what should Vhalantru be replaced with?
3) Since demodands have a completely different role in Golarion's universe, originating in the Abyss and conquering it for their thanatotic titan overlords rather than jailors of a prison plane, how do the Cagewrights and their plans change?
4) Should mythic be used? Considering the AP has the PCs claiming an Abyssal layer and killing its master, plus preventing what would essentially be like the Worldwound from happening, it seems like there's a lot of parallels with stuff that happens in Wrath of the Righteous.

Well... keep in mind that resurrecting someone is expensive, and the magic to do so is relatively rare, so in the majority of cases, you don't have to worry about it. There are equally rare spells and solutions to dodge it, like trap the soul, but really, there's not a way to "permanently kill someone" in the game. That means that it's incumbent on adventure writers and GMs to not abuse the "ha ha the bad guy is back to life!" plot. It gets frustrating and tired really quickly.
One way you as a GM can rule it is to simply say that the dead has been judged; that means they're beyond being resurrected. PCs get to make this choice for themselves by deciding if they want to accept a resurrection or not. You as the GM get to make that decision for every other NPC.
If it's something that's been happening lots in PFS... I'm not aware of it.
That all said... one of the main things that the Red Mantis assassins pride themselves on is that they'll keep someone dead if they kill someone and then they come back to life. After all... if they killed the NPC the first time, they can do it again. And again. And again.

James, did you know that Iron Gods is currently your most highly rated Adventure Path according to reviews? (Followed by Reign of Winter and Skull & Shackles.)
I hope that is encouraging to see.
Are you optimistic that Paizo can continue to push the envelope with APs like those three that strongly diverge from "standard" fantasy? Are you encouraged by the appetite that we, your customers, have for such things making their way into Pathfinder?
I know there are also many customers who don't have an appetite for these types of stories. Do you feel Paizo gives them enough of what they want too?
If you're talking about ENworld, yes I did know that. I am indeed encouraged. But it's also the AP that was current when ENworld first did their big push for reviews, so I can't help but wonder if that's the reason it's had so many votes over the others.
But yes... it's gratifying to see an AP that I've been hoping to get done and that I've put a lot of my own sweat, blood, and tears into get good reviews.
And yes. I'm quite optimistic we can continue pushing the envelope on APs while still doing some that are traditional. There's some elements in Hell's Rebels that get pretty non-traditional that I hope folks enjoy, for example.
The fact that the APs continue to sell well on the day I'm starting to work on the 100th volume of them tells me that I think we've been serving the customers pretty well, in any case.

Will those wedding ceremonies be detailed in Romance of the Inner Sea? ^_^
That's one of many things that could be in such a book, yes. And if there's a stronger call for such a book from the customers... that can only help get it put on a schedule.
