I am assuming the Karnathi troopers are the 5 guys that look the same.

Illusory Ambush on the one closest. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 vs Will. 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 psychic damage, and it takes -2 to attacks to EOMNT and grants CA to the next ally who attacks it.


Rennick cracks the troopers will damaging and distracting him from the melee at hand.

Ragna is up.

Divine Challenge #5: You mark the target. The target remains marked until you use this power against another target, or if you fail to engage the target. A creature can be subject to only one mark at a time. A new mark supersedes a mark that was already in place.
While a target is marked, it takes -2 penalty to attack rolls for any attack that doesn't inlcude me as a target. Also, it takes 11 radiant damage and the target ally regains +9 hit points even on a miss.
Enfeebling Strike: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34 vs AC, 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13, If you marked the target, it takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls until the end of your next turn

Ragna leaps into the fray slashing into the first enemy she sees.


Ragna challenges #5 before smiting him with her sword.

Filirrion pulls out a longbow and attacks #3 with a arrow

Qarista tosses an lightning ball behind trooper 1 that effects trooper 2 also,
#1 attack vs reflex, 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22,miss
#2 attack vs reflex, 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18,miss
damage = 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9, if hit target grants CA.

The lightning explosion dosn't seem to effect any of the gnomish artificer.

Trooper 1 moves up and stabs Qarista with a halberd tinged with lightning
Attack vs ac1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 38, damage = 2d20 + 4 ⇒ (3, 7) + 4 = 14, hitthe trooper hits the gnome hard dropping her to her knees.

Malick ambles towards the stairs and waves a cheerful halberd at Trooper 5.

"I'm looking at you mister, and I'd advise that you look back."

He offers a tempting opening in the hopes that Ragna will take full advantage.

Move to C15.
Brash Assault (AC)
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29
If that hits: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 damage, and regardless, the following happens:_
Effect: The target can make a melee basic attack against you as a free action and has combat advantage for the attack. If the target makes this attack, an ally of your choice within 5 squares of the target can make a basic attack against the target as a free action and has combat advantage for the attack. Ragna in this case.


Malick blatantly opens himself up to attack as he plunges his halberd into trooper #5.


Ragna gets an OA with CA on trooper 5.

Trooper 5 takes Malick's bait and swings at him with his halberd allowing Ragna a free attack.

Trooper 2 moves up and attacks Dabuen with trooper 4.

Yaraton throws a fireball at the following warship and prevents more troopers from jumping abord the Fluttering Petal.

Inguard ruses forward and jumps a rail to get to trooper 5 hacking at him with a pair of axes.

Ragna takes the opportunity to hack into the guard.


With a soft bamf and the smell of brimstone Daburn teleports about the deck striking two out of three of his targets before finally materializing behind trooper #3. Daburn also manages to bloody #5 with a slash across his back before teleporting away.

Ragna further bloodies #5 with a suprise attack.

Typhus strolls forward to B-16, staring across the deck with a casual glance. Suddenly he smiles, "Just like home." With this smile, he curses #5.

Frigid Darkness vs #5: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 vs Fort;
Damage: 2d8 + 9 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 9 + (6, 1) = 23 cold damage and target grants combat advantage to all allied until end of my next turn plus -1 penalty to AC. Range 10, target 1 creature


Typhus strides forth as if he owned the Petal and freezes #5 soild turning the trooper into an ice sculpture.

Kayeron urges all power the Petal has into gaining height and speed as he attempts to put as much distance between the Petal and much larger warship.

Face of Death centered on B11. Versus 2 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 vs Will. Versus 3 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 vs Will. Versus 4 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31 vs Will.

On a hit, they are immobilized (SE). First failed saving throw, they become helpless instead (SE). Whenever they save successfully to shake either of those conditions, they become slowed (SE). They also grant CA to the next ally who attacks them.

On a miss, they are immobilized (SE) and whenever they save successfully they are slowed (SE).

I activate my orb of mental dominion. Whenever they save against any of these effects, they have to roll twice and take the lower result.


Rennik scares the s*!# out of troopers #2, #3 & #4 paralyzing them with fear.

Both arrows hit the trooper ending his life before his body can hit the deck.

Qarista pulls vial and throws it at trooper #1
#1 attack vs reflex, 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22, Damage = 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 miss
Qarista's vial shatters and dosn't do anything.

Trooper 1 continues his attack against Qarista,

Qarista is beheaded with the troopers lucky strike.

Probably a miss. Sigh. In case it isn't . . .

"I'd really advise you against any rapid movement. I guess that's hard for you right now, but this is a gentle reminder."

Malick bounds cheerfully across the deck, intent on giving some help to Yaraton, but unable to resist taking an optimistic prod at Trooper 2 as he passes.


Malick's advice and half-harted prod are both ignored by the troopers.

Trooper #2 prod back at Malick in a duel of halberd finesse,
attack vs ac, 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26, damage = 2d10 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11 miss
The troopers attack is as effective as Malick's, missing Malick completely.

Yaraton continues to focus her attention and power at the warship preventing more troopers from boarding.

The immobilized Trooper #4 has no choice but to attack Ragna,

Hiting her with with his lighting powered halberd.

Inguard lines up a charging attack against troopers #2 & #4 before screaming something incomprehensible in orcish and attacking with Funneling Fury,

The orcs short sword goes snicker-snack cutting both troopers with such force that it forces trooper #2 to the rail and #4 over it. Trooper #4's helpless screams fade away as he plummets to the ground far below.

Typhus puts a double wammy on Trooper #2 blooding him with cold light.

Kayeron is forced to to do some extreme maneuvering to avoid the lighting barrages coming from the warship.

everyone need to make a save or be knocked prone and shifted one square to the right.

Rennik moves up and tries to confound the trooper with more illusions.

Move to B19. Phantom Bolt on 2. 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28 vs Will. 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 damage. On a hit, I can slide him one square. I would like that to be off the edge of the boat (he gets a save to avoid falling to his death). If he saves and does not die, he takes -2 to his next attack and grants CA to the next ally who attacks him.


Trooper 2 save = 1d20 ⇒ 7

Rennik assaults trooper 2's mind with illusions forcing him jerk and spasm and fall backwards over the railing where he falls to his death.

Both Ragna and Malick stumble as the Petal jinks and jives, Malick however goes over the side ship. Malick's death plunge is halted by a quick acting
Filirrion who ditches his bow and grabs the head of Malick's halberd.

I'm going to treat Malick's situation as a combination death save/athletics check. Malick needs to make a DC25 athletics check to climb his way back onto the ship. He only has three attempts to make the check or he plummets to his death. Up to two allies can aid him, giving a +2, by giving up their turn to help pull him aboard.

Fluent draconic swearing comes from just below the deck as Malick hangs between life and death.

1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 - Athletics. Not the time to roll low.

"Jassolen, can you fly? If I don't get out of this, one of us needs to learn fast."


Crawl to D11
Pull out my rope and start lowering it towards Malick

"Grab for the rope."

Jassolen says, "I am only an oracle, I am as likely to be damaged as much by the fall as you. I suggest you climb harder."

Ragna throws down a rope to aid Malick's climb.

Filirrion already went.

Trooper 1 stands and does a whirling attack striking at Daburn and Yaraton,
Daburn, attack vs ac, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12, damage = 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Yaraton, attack vs ac, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20, damage = 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

The trooper misses both targets.

The lone trooper doesn't stand a chance against the remaining crew and succumbs to there massed blades.

We are effectively out of combat but Malick still needs to make the Athletics check to save himself.

"That's incredibly helpful." It's not clear whether Malick is referring to Jassolen or Ragna.

1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20 - Athletics. +2 to that if the rope is an aid.

His hands slip and oblivion beckons ...

Crud. Last shot at this.

"Guess I'll be catching up with Blondie in Khyber ..."

Urk. This was not the best time to roll a 4, 5 and 2. It was really nice knowing you all.


And even with two aids on each not sure we would be able to help :(, but we can try on that first one that you got a 20 on, if the +2 helps for the rope, maybe +2 more from two of us could get you at least one save

Malick gets a +2 from Ragna and Typhus or Rennik would be able to assist also adding another +2 and the rope would add +2 making your roll of 20 a 26.

Malick sees his life flash before his eyes as he dangles from the precipice of doom but once again he manages to cheat death as his friends franticly haul him aboard the skyship.

Flat on his back and determinedly staying as close to the deck as he can, Malick opens his eyes.

"I need a drink."

"I almost thought we'd lost you! The fall probably would have been most injurious."

"Yeah. It could have hurt me as well and none of the rest of you can do first aid."


Sorry for the slow posting but some RL stuff is taking most of my time and energy. Because of this I had to shut down my other games so I can spend what little time I do have on this one.

In the following pursuit Kayeron able to use the greater speed and agility of the Fluttering Petal to gain a sizable lead in both distance and altitude from the warship. When all sight of the warship is lost Kayeron
puts the Fluttering Petal into a steep dive until the skyship is skimming the treetops. He also changes the heading from a southbound heading to due east heading for Aunadair.
"Don't worry my good fellows." he shouts out over the wind rushing over the deck, "We need to get to the safety of Aunadair before I can get you to Breeland." "There is also a small bit of business I need to take care of in Fairhaven. If you're interested in making some gold I could use people with your talents on this job."

After a bit Kayeron ask Typhus to take the helm so he can join his crew in an impromptu wake and mourn Qarista their lost crew-mate.

Typhus takes the helm, looking natural and at ease.
