For a little extra to cover the cost of the spells we can mold the bones like clay and make a complete serving set, six goblets, decanter and serving tray. Silver and gold inlays of course increase the price but will prevent wine from staining the goblets."

Typhus stares for a moment. "The silver and gold will be nice. Can't have the wine stain like blood. There will be more than enough blood to go around at the celebration."

Typhus will pay whatever they ask.

1500gp total cost. Typhus is very entertained as the boneworkers kneed Uriel's bones into a clay like substance and then molded into the forms of the serving set before hardening back into solid bone. After the bones are molded the more conventional artisans take over and carve and finish the bone preparing them for the silver inlays and gold filigree.

"Care to tell us a little more?" Malick looks simple and open and idiotic.

I guess he hasn't picked up that ranged weapon yet.

To Malick:
"How should I know? I haven't been keeping track either?"

Ferdinand looks between Rennik and the other gnomes. "Well? Just give them the stone already! We got places to be."

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

Realizing that it's too late for a bluff, Rennik hides nothing. "Ooh, they're fascinating devices, aren't they? Interesting bit of thaumaturgy. While I hate to part with it, I would be happy to return it to its rightful owner. So with whom am I speaking?"

Any objections to turning it over, assuming these gnomes don't turn out to be demented cultists or anything? I was thinking of selling it anyway.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

@Ferdinand

Spoiler:
"I know, but you're smarter than me."

No problem at all. After all if they are demented cultists, we can deal with that. We do it all the time.

"Kind of like to know who the rightful owner is - just curiosity."

“Go ahead Gongi show them”, the bolder gnome says to the other. Gongi opens his shirt to reveal a large Sivis dragonmark covering his shoulder and chest.
“Let us continue walking; it’s not a good idea to stand in one place to long as we might attract attention of the magistrate’s guards”. After you resume walking the gnome continues speaking, “I am Lanislith and this is Gongi we were part of the group that investigated the original theft of the stones until the day of mourning and the House believed the stones lost”.
“Gongi, being the savant he is never believed the stones were destroyed so he kept searching for them”.
“After five years of silence both stones suddenly started transmitting. One only transmitted for about an hour before going silent, but the one in your possession continues to transmit and we were able to listen in on your conversations and track you down her to Vulyar.”

“As reward for the return of the stone we will give you all the information we have on the location and last words heard from the other stone.”

After you hand over the stone Lanislith tells Gongi, “Gongi replay the details please”.
Gongi speaks for the first time but in the voice of the persons speaking.
Female orc - ”…Mistress the speaking stone, it’s active!
Ruing – What! How is this possible? It must be Oddjob.
Female orc – When you interrogated the yaun-ti they said they killed them.
Ruing – Even when tortured the yaun-ti were protecting them. I was right to destroy their nest. Quickly Maspeth gather the ritual components we have to re-shield the stone.

Gongi stops speaking and Lanislith starts, “That was all that was heard from the stone before it went silent again. We were able to locate Sharn as the point of transmission but nothing else”.
“If you ever find the other stone return it to Gongi or myself and we can come up with a more substantial reward for you efforts. Good day gentlemen I hope your endeavors in Vulyar are successful.”
Both the gnomes hurry away.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

@Jassolen

Spoiler:
See why just poking about gets results? This is why we're doing it our way.

"Isn't that nice? Blondie's in Sharn. Let's finish up shopping, drag Typhus out of the boneyard, steal that airship and go visit her."

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

I still think we should sell this other stuff. I'm out of town, but could somebody look up the values for the group loot on my profile?

17,000 gp each for the two +3 items

Buy what you want Vulyar is large enough to have most magical equipment.

Stuff you can see about the skyport without using extraordinary means.
The skyport of Vulyar consists of three towers each having berths for two skyships. Smaller skiffs are moored at the two smaller towers bases.
The tallest tower holds the port control center at its base.
Security is fairly heavy around the towers with the greatest concentration at the control center.

There is a large number of zombies working as porters loading and unloading cargo. A low level mage is controlling each group of 15 zombies.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Malick would like to do the following with your permission.
Buy a +3 magic crossbow (9,000).
If possible, trade out the Grappling Halberd +3 for a Sacrificial Halberd +3 (both level 11).

We get half of the cost for selling or is it 25%?

Half.

So we have 17,000 gp in group loot, anyone want to shop?

Bit more than that. We can sell off the acid sprayers as well. 1050gp each (quarter value).

@Ragna "Associating with you is bringing out my giving side."

Colour for the weapon swap. Thanks Xal. Appeciated. Profile updated. Gone for Distance Javelin over the crossbow so he can use his strength rather than dex.

Ragna wrote:

Plus 7000 in other group loot for 24k (not counting acid sprayers). Do we divide or keep it together?

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Malick can downsize the javelin quite happily - he's just being greedy.

Finnish your shooping and tell me how you're going to approch the problem of freeing the Fluttering Petal.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Can any of us fly the thing?

A tentative suggestion if we can. Rennick invisibleates himself and Flint since they've both got high enough stealth to make it sensible to do that. The rest of us bluff our way on board past the guards as audit takers/security officials using niftily forged documents. Take off. Job done.

Xabulba wrote:

“I need a highly skilled group to get into the Skyport control tower to release the rituals holding the Fluttering Petal in dock while Kejistise and I gather my crew. Once free the fluttering petal can easily out maneuver any Karrnathi ships in port and fly to freedom.”

“Are your skills up this challenge? If not say so now and I will continue to Ariel and hire some Valenar to help.”

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Thanks for the reminder. It got lost a few pages back :)

Same sort of plan then. Get Rennick and whoever else is good at disablement into the tower under cover of a bluff from the rest of us.

Typhus will sell his Rod of the Pyre +2 to raise the money for the memorial cup. Once that is done, he'll wander off in search of the party.

"Thank you Malick for the compliment. We all serve the flame in our own way."

Everybody take 4000 gp then. Seems tidy that way.

Even more spotting posting for the next week or so due to moving.

redotting

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Re-dot. Sigh. Any advances on Malick's not particularly cunning plan?

Your plan sounds pretty good, I can shapechange into a specific official if we can find out any of them.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

We can find that out easily enough by watching the place. Gently knock out the one you impersonate and you take his place. Job done :)

Sounds good and in this flame forsaken place, i will not even have to feel bad about it.

I’m going to be without internet for a couple weeks so the game is on pause until I can get back online and resume.
Hope you’re gonna be there when we restart.

I will be here :)

I have nowhere else to go. Typhus will just be volunteering at orphanages and nunneries, teaching the kiddies all about the real truth in life.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Malick will encourage Ragna to explore her seedier side and then persuade Ferdinand to start running a penguin farm someplace. None of that will work, so he'll be around :)

I would much prefer a chinchilla ranch

Flint will be here when you return. If I don't respond, just page me in one of the other games a few of us share.

Hello boys, I'm BACK!

I'll have the map and recap posted tomorrow. Latter today realy.

Welcome Back!

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

Well, this was unexpected. Welcome back.

Synopsis: Oddjob is in Vulyar, Karnath and currently planning on freeing the airship Fluttering Petal from lockdown at the skyport. The lockdown was ordered by the skyport magistrate on suspicion of smuggling.
The plan; Kayeron, Capt. of the Fluttering Petal and the remainder of his crew will storm the ship and seize control while Oddjob gets into the control tower and releases the binding ritual holding the Fluttering Petal in her berth.
Overview; The skyport of Vulyar consists of three towers each having berths for two skyships.

MAP OF SKYPORT

Let me know on how you plan to sneak into the main tower.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Our cunning plan was to look at the sentries and then get Ragna to change shape into one of them. Rennick would sneak in invisible while we made up some kind of ridiculous distraction along the lines of needing to audit security measures.

Something like that, anyway.

Male Razrclaw Shifter / Dhampyr (Half Vampire) Trickster Rogue / 12 (Shadow Assassin Paragon Path)

I can sneak wherever you all think I might be of most use, like along with Rennick?
