All right, Adele's done mechanically; I may go in and toy with the fluff a bit. I already found one math mistake myself today; there's probably more. I'm used to using character generators to make up high level characters and keep the numbers straight for me.

Armorneus "Morn" Lithdiir |

Well I think that Morn is finished and all the stats are in, hope I didn't mess up too badly. I will add the details of the character traits, racial traits, and class features later. They are more just for me to reference so I don't have to look them up all the time. Let me know what you think. I think I did pretty well making the stats fit the background.
As has been mentioned before, this has been one of the best times for me in creating a character because of the way we did it. This will indeed be an interesting group of characters. I'm looking forward to starting the adventure.
'Night all.

Archon Adept |

Hey Archon, in Gods and Magic, monks who are followers of Irori can use wholeness of body on a willing creature. It cost the recipient fatigue though. All the deities have certain quirks depending on what class you are. I was wondering if that's allowable.
Sure, I'll go for that.

Joana |

Still trying to figure out WHY Xayden is in Westcrown, it's like an Roman Riddleport...I guess he'd be there to help free slaves...not much of a party town...
I believe Adele makes periodic trips there to purchase slaves to bring to freedom in Andoran. Zalania tags along out of the goodness of her heart, with absolutely no ulterior motive. ;) You'd be a welcome addition to their party, whether entirely out of altruism or not. And Adele probably feels safer when she can keep her eye on you. Your, um, exuberance does tend to land you in what she considers scrapes.

Zalania Sapphros |

Yeah, I thought we were traveling together. I mean Adele, myself, and you. But if not, please feel free to correct me. :P
I'm sure there's a lovely little inn where I can sing.... err, dance for our supper. Adele can dance and sing too. And Xayden, you've got either drums or bass. On second thought, you'd do better behind the bar. Just don't drink it all.
Hmm, will have to remember to prepare prestidigitation. We can't dance without glitter and sparkles and puffs of colored smoke shaped like glittery scarves. Oh, and did I say glitter yet?
EDIT: If I can get a little better at dancing, (Maybe there's some magic boots out there.) we could take this show on the road, make some REAL money.

Archon Adept |

Joana, I've started reviewing character sheets, and I began with Adele.
After an initial overview, I have a couple of comments...
1. Can you tell me how you broke down Adele's bonus hit/skill points associated with 5 levels of paladin, her favored class? I can't quite make the skill totals work out, but I think the difference might lie in the answer to this question. It will also allow me to assign her a final hit point total, which will probably be a little higher than the 58 you listed.
2. I figured her final save totals as FORT +12, REF +15, WILL +17. Can you revisit this, and double check?
3. Should damage with her +1 Holy Rapier be +13/+8?
That's all for the moment, pending your answer to question #1 above. Thanks!

GREAT visual, but you guys might have something more important to do in the near future. Maybe.

Well, alright, but if we're being paid to do something, I hope they pay up front, cause I'm broke! I spent everything. Hmm, maybe I can write a book: "Confessions of a Magic Item Shopaholic".

Joana |

Joana, I've started reviewing character sheets, and I began with Adele.

** spoiler omitted **
I put 9 skills points each in Diplomacy, Knowledge (religion), Perform (dance), Perform (sing), and Knowledge (the planes) for a total of 45. The other 7 are in Escape Artist (3), Perception (3), and Profession (gardener) (1 -- a purely fluff choice, based on her grandfather's profession).
As far as saves, I forgot to add her ability bonuses. I came up with Fort +12 (5 base + 0 ability + 6 divine grace + 1 racial), Ref +16 (6 base + 3 ability + 6 divine grace + 1 racial), Will +17 (8 base + 2 ability + 6 divine grace + 1 racial).
And on her combat stats, I forgot the size bonus to attack, which would make it +13/+8, yes.

It can go along with the "I hate 2+int" Skill Classes book I'm going to write. Leaves no room for fun skills like Profession Brewmaster...I wanted him to be an accomplished brewer, so I had to hinder my other skills...hope it doesn't get us killed...
You can always take a level in rogue, bard, ranger, or even expert, if you want to get some skillpoints.

Archon Adept |

Want me to help? Part of the problem could be they're all formatted differently. I could reformat them if you want. I usually do for my own character "sheets" anyway. (They all look like NPC profiles.)
Sure! Anything you'd like to do would be appreciated. If you want to have a look at anybody's math, or reformat sheets...you're welcome to it. Thanks a lot!

![]() |

Hmm, my employer called. Doesn't look like I'll be able to get to that tonight. I can have them reformated tomorrow sometime though. (I know that doesn't help you right now, sorry :( )
Well, Zalania's already reformated. I just don't have her up that way on my profile exactly. :P I can probably post that, if you want, but it won't be much different than my profile.

Xayden Xailean the Wanderer |

I could easily take a level in another class to get a few extra SP, but one of the design philophies of Pathfinder was gettign rid of dipping, I pushed for 4+ minimum with my very existance, since I want people in my games to be able to take knowledge skills, skills do not break the game, but a lack of skills can break a storyline...

Eoin Brennan |

It is alas, what it is!
Just checked over my statblock, it should be okay, I formatted in stardust's preffered style, and wrote in the backstory, putting the subtle hints of Kaldanis within it, it should make him and his demeanour easier to understand. Or rather that was the aim, feedback welcome!

Hey, no worries. Anything you can do is appreciated, but don't feel pressured, stardust.
Similarly, no one should feel an inordinate amount of pressure to format their sheets in a particular manner. I'll slog through this stuff as best I can.

Doug Greer |

No pressure here, just trying to help as much as I can. I've been in the DM's chair and I know how much work it is. I always appreciated help from the players, so as a player if there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
I just finished running Age of Worms for a group of friends, and we all had a good time, but that was a long haul. Took about three years to run through.

Zalania Sapphros |

Totally unrelated but hopefully mildly entertaining.
I just created a fire elemental sorceress for a real life campaign.
Not anything unusual, really. But this is kind of intriguing.
First of all, my first Pathfinder character is called Selena. I believe that means "moon" in greek. I thought it was a beautiful name for a celestial sorcerer who happened to also be an important part of the religion of Lady Desna.
Second major character created using the Pathfinder rules: Zalania, as you see her before you now. :P Also interested by the religion of Lady Desna.
And now for my fire elemental sorceress. I called her Shelani. Thirteen minutes later (approximately), I realize all three characters have very similar names.
I was also having a difficult time coming up with a background for Shelani, but fortunately the Harrow deck came to my rescue again. I fudged the card draws a little bit, but only in the interest of providing some more variety. And again, spot on, brilliant, and intriguing. Using this method, the lower right spot (Chaotic Evil?) could almost always indicate a psychological flaw or difficulty of some sort.
I could lay it out for anyone who's interested.

Zalania Sapphros |

Chaotic Evil corresponds to future negative/challenge doesn't it? Anyway, go for it.
Traditionally that's what it corresponds to, but in the background harrowings it often seems to indicate a personal flaw that can be enhanced to a more serious (and potentially dangerous) reaction.
Zalania's loss of identity, for example, and Marcellius's suspicious paranoia. Adele's potential depression at the impossibilities of a beautiful world (I made that up, Adele, to fit in with your harrowing), and Xayden's possibility of treacherous love. (It's bound to happen sooner or later with a love 'em, leave 'em philosophy.)
Shelani's Harrowing
P1. Trumpet
P2. Brass Dwarf
P3. Fiend
As Shelani is a sorcerer, I felt that the Trumpet card indicated an emergency onset of her powers, rather than a "natural" development of them. The Fiend card confirmed that something rather horrible happened in her past, but she survived (Brass Dwarf). In Shelani's case, her desert tribe was destroyed completely by some desert elemental lord, a devastating, hungry fire elemental of some type (still working with the DM on what type). Shelani was of course, the only one spared. Since then she has been hearing the whispering of this dark elemental lord in her mind, and swears that she can hear words in the crackling waves of heat and flame.
C1. Survivor
C2. Teamster
C3. Beating
The Survivor card confirmed this story, and indicated a strong resiliency to survive. (Shelani took the Resilient trait). She has both the weaknesses and strengths that a lone survivor has. Shelani feels an irresistable urge to continue moving. Her nomadic clan was always on the move, but this urge is deeper than cultural upbringing. Due to both desert upbringing and isolation, Shelani is used to being on her own, and often feels as though everyone she meets is against her.
F1. Publican
F2. Mountain Man
F3. Cyclone
In order to continue developing herself, Shelani will need to learn to become socially compatible with others, but in the meantime can she figure out what force is compelling her forward, and pushing her into destructive tendencies? Or will her pyromanic drives consume her in a tempestuous blaze?

Xayden Xailean the Wanderer |

I like how Xayden's Harrowing went, it works perfectly to the conceptual background I had envisioned, Xayden was rescued by Adele and stayed with her helping assist her in the endeavors she undertakes, and it's always full of adventures...
He's in Westcrown, because Adele is in Westcrown...I have been with her since our early levels, which means I can interject reflective stories into the game, like "I swear these are the same goblins we killed back in Riddleport, when that hulking brute of a hobgoblin actually stepped on one of them before I stabbed it in the groin. Remeber the sound it made??"

Just to let you know, Archon, I changed a couple of Adele's spells to ones allowed by Shelyn in Gods & Magic, if that's okay (Eagle's Splendor as 1st-level bard spell & Unbreakable Heart as 1st-level paladin spell). Also, does she get Hallit for free, being from Galt? If so, I can pick one more language. (You'll note she knows Gnome -- learned it from Xayden, I'm sure.)

Galtan people are ethnically Taldan as far as that goes, I'm fairly sure. You run into Kellid people a little bit further north, at least in the River Kingdoms.

Ah. So Hallit is a Kellid language? I must admit I haven't read the CS cover-to-cover; I just read the bits that apply to characters/campaigns as I go along.

vagrant-poet |

@Joana: Of course, I'm just very obsessed with the human ethnicities, and kind of charted them out, and what nation likely has what ethnic mix. So I read all of those bits carefully.
@Zalania: Unfortunately, I haven't got the Cheliax Companion, sounds fun though.

Archon Adept |

Everyone, with a heavy heart I must announce that my PbP endeavors will have to go on hiatus, once again. It just seems like whenever I think my life has stabilized, everything blows up again. I am sorry for disappearing for the last week plus, but I thought if I waited it out, I might yet be able to get the game going. But it looks like that won't be the case anytime soon. I can't leave you hanging forever, so let's go ahead and abort for now. I'm really sorry to disappoint you all. I thank you for the time you put in on your characters, and wish you all the best.
