I won't be able to officially check over any character sheets until I have the rulebook myself, stardust. But thanks for being so quick to get her done!

Hey Xaaon, when do you have time to like, eat or sleep or even breathe? Kudos to you man. I don't see how you do it. I'd be dead by now if I had that much going on. Literally dead.

Hey all, apparently the official SRD for the core rules is set to go live tomorrow, so for anyone who is unable yet to purchase the PDF, perhaps this can be an option to get started on character creation anyway. FYI.

Stats:

I got my background story up, Archon, but I got nothing on Westcrown. Joana tells me we should be getting info on it when the Core comes in.

As I said earlier, I ain't much for background story. This is only the second one I've done. The other is a character I ran for 9 levels THEN came up with a background. Just warning you.

I'll apologize now for the seemingly endless blah, blah, blah. There is also discrepancies. Just ignore those. It's better that way.:)

Word is they may have to shut the boards down tomorrow as well. I think it was Jacobs or Buhlman(or one of them at Paizo) that mentioned that possibility on another thread. It's not a for sure, just a possibility.

Female Human (Varisian) Wizard (Diviner) 7 / Harrower 1

Okay, I asked this on the general discussion board for PFRPG, but I'll ask it here too. Do insight bonuses (attack, AC, etc) stack? (I thought they did, but I could be and am perfectly willing to be wrong.)

I'm just curious to know if true strike's +20 insight bonus to the next single attack roll would stack with diviner's fortune class ability.

The old d20 SRD has insight bonuses NOT stacking, so I'm assuming its the same in pathfinder.

Unless some official source contradicts me, I would say that insight bonuses do not stack.

Javell, all your disclaimers notwithstanding, I really enjoyed your PC's background. Good job. :)

I just got my rules, and Kaldanis should be up with an alias soon!

Are we using traits?

I was able to get my pdf today and I will get Morn's stats worked out as soon as I can.

6 hours of sleep...that's how I do it, I also don't shave too often, and my wife makes lunches and dinners and such, also, while I'm getting this sidework up, I'm not working on my supplement, my art, and my kids are being really patient. I only live 9 minutes from the office as well. (plus I do some posting fromt he office...)

Yes, please select two traits for your character.

Great news Doug!

Since the message boards are back up and functioning, hopefully that means the worst of the furor has passed. :)

Okay, I received my PFRPGCR finally today, so I went ahead and put up my character. (It's on the 9th level spoiler) Sniff, good bye Starknife proficiency. Hello dagger-mania! :P

Wow, I have a +11 Initiative modifier now! Even if I roll a 1, I could still potentially act first - lol. Anyway, check out my character, see if she's okay, and let me know if you want me to include anything more in her character sheet, show my wealth-work (I kinda did a little bit of rounding) or any other changes that need to be made.

Speaking of Varisians and Starknife proficiency, I had actually made a feat for my my group called Varisian Combat Style and it allows Starknives, and bladed scarves to be be counted as a weapon group for Weapon focus, spec, etc. Just saying..heh.

Don't forget they put the PFRPG Updated Traits up on the Pathfinder resource page. I'm going to try to finish up Xayden this weekend, already selected one trait, now I need to figure out my second.

'Greetings one and all, Lord Kaldanis Asendror of Ostenso, at your service with all the grace and will I can muster!' Kaldanis bows deeply, though in a precisely measured way, with a wide warm smile on his face, which lights up his shining voilet eyes.

This is it. Do look through and check it for anything you don't want.

My only big problem is using a summon monster spell, which in my case has to summon fiendish creatures. Of course Kaldanis acknowledges his alignment, claiming that he is trying to redeem himself for his early youth and the actions and influence of his parents. Would that be a viable explanation for why he has to use evil summons, with the added word that he likes the idea of turning evil back on itself as he wishes to do for himself. Who's characters would have a problem with that explanation?

Spoiler:

It is more or less false, he doesn't want to redeem himself so much as he thinks 'evil' is a silly term, he is out for himself and willing to go that extra mile to get there. Especially if it gets him closer to his ultimate goal.

I look forward to working with Adele, Darnak, Morn, Xayden and fellow arcanist Zalania.

(@Zalania: I don't truck with the diabolist government more than I need to, but I'm certainly capable and willing to summon devils or any thing and brokering deals with my adequate Diplomacy skill.)

"As long as you can keep the things still long enough for me to ask it some questions and read their minds (if possible), I'm good. I also have some truth items which I can use if necessary."

P.S. (Charisma 25? I think I'm in love.)

vagrant, I'm perfectly fine with your justification for Kaldanis' summoning of fiendish creatures.

@Archon Adept: Great, thats a great example of how he thinks, talks and acts, so I would change my alignment to good anytime soom edespite my actions, and especially not for my words!

@Zalania: Hehe! Also, he has the charming trait, I get +1 diplomacy and blufff and all of my enchantment spells get +1 DC against people who find me attractive! It just suits so well!

Oh, you charmer you. Fortunately, I have +12 to saves against charms and compulsions. The only way you're seducing me is if I want to be seduced. :P

I have a question about Power Attack. It says it starts out at -1 to hit +2 to damage. Every +4 BA is another -1/+2. Well, a monk's normal BA is +6 but when he flurries it's +9. If I were to take this, would this mean I would always be at -2/+4 because of my normal +6 or would it change to -3/+6 when I flurry?

On a side note between Zalania and Vagrant, that's just great stuff! Look out Mr. Charmer, you could get yourself into more trouble than any demons can dish out!;)

Ugh, this is the sort of thing that I struggle with. Let me pose this question on the rules forum of the boards, Javell, if you don't mind?

I already cross-posted it under Rules Questions. No answers yet....

Thanks for taking care of it, Joana!

Oh, and hey, the question has been answered, as follows:

Nethys wrote:

For the purpose of determining their 'Power Attack' attack penalty / damage bonus, even in a Flurry, use the monk's normal base attack bonus.

Your God of Knowledge,
Nethys

And who am I to argue with Nethys? ;)

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

He is the God of Knowledge I've heard.

Female Human (Varisian) Wizard (Diviner) 7 / Harrower 1

Hmm, sorry I'm late to the party.

"For the purpose of these attacks (flurry), the monk's base attack bonus is equal to his monk level. For all other purposes, such as qualifying for a feat or prestige class, the monk uses his normal base attack bonus." - Pg 57.

And who am I to argue with Zalania Sapphros?

Male Human... enough Physicist3/Nerd4/<Presitge Class Here> 1

King?

And +12 huh? I look forward to the challenge, though a little Diplomacy is an even subtler way of genuine charm! Roll on the great game!

Your DM is working hard to get comfortable enough with the final rules to adjudicate the correctness of 9th level character sheets.

I'd be ecstatic if the new version of sCore at RPG Engine would arrive to help me out!

I still have work to do on this character, trying to get the time to finish it up...

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

I'm about done with creating my character. Hopefully by tonight I'll have his stat block post on his alias page.

I toyed with the idea of making Xayden a Mystic Theurge, but dropping to 3rd level spells would be a bit tough, but I was thinking of doing that to have a familiar that could deliver touch healing...

I think I'm going to add a house-rule to my games that Cleric domain spells can be spontaneously cast in addition to heal spells.

I took scribe scroll, so can I take any of my scrolls at cost?

I was thinking of taking Leadership to get a Griffon Cohort, but I don't see those rules in the book any more...

Yeah, okay, you can purchase scrolls for the cost of creation. But, if you choose any spell with an expensive material component, please add that into the cost.

No more leadership? Huh, I hadn't realized that.

Female Human (Varisian) Wizard (Diviner) 7 / Harrower 1

Leadership is a feat, but it only provides rules for NPC cohorts.

stardust wrote:

Ah, okay that makes more sense.

Female Halfling Bard/ Paladin (sacred servant) 7 (gestalt)

Adele is just about done. Need to finish up equipment, tally up her encumbrance, and figure out how much money she has left.

Everyone, I have a nice long block of time set aside on Wednesday for the review of character sheets. Does everyone think they can have things finalized for my approval by then?

Archon Adept wrote:

I hope so. Tuesday's going to be pretty busy for me, but I don't have too much left to do for her.

Liberty's Edge

Nice, Adele, a Paladin-Bard! I'm thinking of taking my Paladin of Arazni that way too. Inspire courage, and bard spells ftw. Of course, I'll have to lose my shield unless I can get still spell soon enough, but I was thinking of getting rid of it anyway. Will eventually have to to use lay on hands.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Yep.

(In all honesty, though, I'll never truly be done. There is ALWAYS something else that needs fixin'. It's a curse. The constant tinkering. I can never have the perfect character. No matter how much I try. Joana constantly throws things at me to get me to leave well enough alone. It's a horrible way to live.)

Oh well, what are you gonna do! :)

Javell DeLeon wrote:

Put one's DM foot down and say "We've started playing, and you can no longer change things?"

In a RL game, I guess I could confiscate his character sheet between sessions....

I will attempt to have it done by Wednesday...

I'm done, Joanna looks fantastic, this is going to be a fun game! Elven Rogue gone Duelist, Dwarven Monk trained on Jalmeray, Gnome Cleric of Cayden Cailean, Halfling Paladin/Bard, Varisian Diviner gone Harrower, and little 'ole sinister me!

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

I just have to finish buying equipment and do final stat calculations, so I should be done by tomorrow.

Agreed, I'm very happy with this mix of players and characters.

With some luck, we may be able to start up the IC thread by the end of the week. :)

Hey Archon, in Gods and Magic, monks who are followers of Irori can use wholeness of body on a willing creature. It cost the recipient fatigue though. All the deities have certain quirks depending on what class you are. I was wondering if that's allowable.

Also, Darnak's reason for being in Westcrown is he's decided to return home. He took a boat from Jalmeray which went as far as Westcrown, and now he's waiting for a boat to Varisia.
