OK I'm going with an X-wing, what would it cost to upgrade the agility and the shields? Plus put the docking ring on it.
I'll need to buy an astromech droid also.
What about an X-83 TwinTail Starfighter? It's on p.86 of the Legacy Era Campaign Guide. It's basically the X-Wing of this time period.
You can pick one up for 75,000 Used.

I saw that one, and discussed it as a possibility, but I think I'm gonna go with a tweaked X-Wing, type.
I thought about doing that, too, but the rub for me was the added cost that comes because you have to apply the refitted template from Legacy, which adds 20% on top of everything or else it automatically applies the antiquated template which knocks off 20% off HP and weapon damage. In the end, just picking a period starfighter was cheaper.

Wow I'm glad you told me that, because that would apply to my ship as well. Mine is from the Clone Wars Period. Have to factor that in to costs now...

need to modify my charatcer slightly due to errata, nothing that will delay my ability to start but Wealth talent was modified from "noble" level to "class level" meaning i dont need to go 4 levels of noble, so I plan to go more soldier levels, I'll be done tonight with that fix. :)
I should have my ship finished too once I recheck it with the recent info, not having guns it may not be a big deal, and I need to see what takes precedence Prototype or Retrofit.
:)

Working on my ship, the lack of a full ship construction system, with a weird modification system makes this hard.
So far the only thing I've seen I can do to my X83, is tweak the shields from 30 to 35.
It doesn't have any left-over emplacement points.
How can it have a +8 Armor? where does the base armor come from? If I drop some armor from it, how many emplacement points do I get?
Slave 1 seems completely broken as a ship, I know it's a prototype, but wow...

I think Page 38 is the rule for emplacement point addition. Essentially a ship of X-wing size doesn't have a lot of room to add bits and pieces and can only hold so much. I don't know if there's a rule for overstocking it, but I'd imagine you won't get too much on there. Which is probably why stock Y-class freighters are so desirable: they have a lot of unused emplacement points and cargo space to give up for more.
EDIT: Okay, the rules for adding emplacement points or for running out of them are summed up in Scum and Villany. Essentially if you lack points, you can still add the upgrade, but for every emplacement point you lack, it adds +2 day, +5 to the Mechanics roll to add it and +20% to the cost. Alternately you can cram existing systems into smaller space to gain 5 emplacement points, but the systems become unreliable, detailed on page 54 of Scum & Villany. Essentially every time the ship moves down the condition track, you roll a % and a system goes out. If you move 3 or more down the rack you roll a %+20.

AH!!!! nice!
OK cool, cuz I'd really like to have some regenerating shields on it...I wonder what would be a good system to cram into a smaller space? I coudl cram the hyperdrive into a smaller space perhaps...to add more agility and regenerating shields to it.
It's really weird the way they made the system though, without rules for designing from scratch, you can't reverse engineer the existing ships.
I had bought a bunch of equipment and my profile update wasn't able to be saved last night when the site was down...grrrr...

I think you have to cram ALL the systems, thus leading to potential weird glitches in random ones.

Ahhh...I see...
might still do it...X83C
I named the ship the Queen's Gambit

Xarra Nova |

Good name.
Edit: tricked her out, I did. Gave her a heckuva punch and made her smarter and faster, which makes her smarter than I. She's ugly by choice and a miracle of Legacy-era engineering by design. She makes me cry, that one does and I hope she lives through it all.
So her named is Heartbreaker? heh
ah no, it's Illustrious...

Garqi - Garqi was an agriworld and the sector capital of Tadrin Sector, in the Outer Rim Territories. Natural elements in Garqi's crust gave the native plant life a purple coloration. From space, the planet appeared a beautiful, hypnotic violet color. It was the source of the beans used to make caf.
Question: Whats the political situation like, recent events, etc, that I can tie into my immediate plans. If this planet is Sith controlled I'll need to make a few starting adjustments to what my reason for being there is.

same_random_hero |

Garqi remains independent of the Sith at the moment, however it was under Empire control before the Empire was overthrown by the Sith. It is not friendly but it is not hostile right now either. Galactic Alliance and Imperials loyal to Fel often stop here to relax and plan.
The party will start out near a large space platform to make things easy. You will decide why your character is there. I will begin the storyline shortly, however know that I am very adaptable. If the party wants a strong hand guiding the storyline, I will provide it. If the party wants lots of freedom, you will have free rein. Also you are not required to stay together at all times but you should at least keep in contact and ally with each other often.
The space platform has a few cantinas and lots of shipyards. Don’t be afraid to explore around and feel out whats going on around you
One more thing for now, the lifeforce of the planet masks small uses of the force and is a reason many forceusers looking to lay low arrive to the planet

SORRY SORRY SORRY!!!!!!! HOLY CRAP!!! HOLY CRAP!!!
I am sorry everything will be back up shortly, your awesome characters have not been made in vain.
I had a major incident in Iraq and I have hopped over to Europe for R&R afterwards, honestly I thought internet would be everywhere in Germany..... not so much.
Anyways things are clearing up rather fast now. I will move things forward later today or early tommorow.
Use the hyperlink in my previous post on this board if you cant get to the pbp thread.
I will also bump it to revive the thread from the evil clutches of the archives.
Once again, I am sorry about the blackout and I will set everything back on course. If any of you have already decided to quit I will understand and continue with those who want to keep going.

It's fine. I hope the incident wasn't too bad.
I'm willing to stay, personally. This is a cool campaign, and I still really appreciate you taking over.
Kobold Catgirl |

bump.
The planet is of right now loyal to the imperial and not to the Sith.
They are however, not looking to aquire the interest of the Sith.
So, odds are that if a 'Sith' appeared, they would just be extremely wary and unfriendly but would not openly arrest him?
Alright, then. He does draw the lightsaber. This should make for fun roleplaying...

No complaints, I was more feeling out what the posting schedule was going to be. :)
No hidden meaning was there. I think we're all happy to be gaming finally.
So far I enjoy that your running with the HUD and would otherwise be fluff parts of my characters armor. Just assuming I had a HUD, and I do, even though it really has no in game effects beyond RP fluff, was cool.
It shows you got some Star Wars mojo. Kudos.

Holy Crap!!! I am really sorry, Winterwalker!!
Somehow I thought you were all rushing to the walker and stopping the crew from standing it back up. I will get an initiative system started and I will definitely keep better track of what is going on. I cant see how I missed that.
I will let you decide if you attacked the operator opposite the one Jern jumped to. I assume that would be the one you wanted to attack.
You can also simply decide to restrain or intimidate as they did.
Your choice and I am sorry about that. Do not worry about in-game disruptive change, as an actual attack on one would really serve to solidify the others choice to comply. Which he has done.
The other has not been interacted with yet, and so an attack would be more than alright. And to be honest, expected in that situation.
