Where do we start, XP wise, BT?

We use the medium track right ?

Oh sorry BT I didn't mean it to sound as if I was bored with the game, I had some free time (oddly enough) and couldn't figure out what to do, so I was bored... And shouldn't we have enough to level seeing as its only 1,000 to first? If its 1,500 then I still think we make it with all the xp before.

Cant wait to see how these two groups get to mixing together!

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Don't worry Haun. I'm just kidding.

We use the medium track, so it's actually 2000 xp to level 2. Quick is missing 15 xp but I think Brock and Juliare might just make it. Kirwen and Thrakhir start at 992 xp.

If I count right I think me and Juliare have 1,960 Dang! almost!

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

In that case Kirwen and Thrakhir start at 980. No big deal though, and I'm sure you'll find a few more xp exploring the rest of the temple.

... and don't forget to play nice. I'm having a blast reading the conversation this far, but remember that we want you to become a party in the end.

Oh, I think we'll get there in the end. :) We just need to get through the formalities first. ;)

Yup. Secretly Quick is interested in these two. Not only that, she's even more invested now that they've called her 'half-pint'. She's quite eager to prove them wrong.

Additionally, Brock is a human.

Yeah, I've been looking for the half-orc myself... No wonder Brock's not fond of them!

Sorry Haun , Brock's backgound did cause me to err . I knew there was orc somewhere in your family but I didn't see it's only 1/8

Then the intended slight came off grandly. ;)

(Nothing but love for ya, Haun.)

All you tall folk look the same.

It's hard to tell from way down there. The best way to discern is the smell.

Its all good! I'm having fun and that meeting was good times!

Unless I'm wrong , here is the xp check for Brock and me

100 xp for the creature in the sewers
100 xp for speaking with Betsy
350 xp for the dock thugs
020 xp for Hessiah losing his money
1100 xp for Kanto
-----
1570 xp not there yet

Liberty's Edge

Human (Minkai) Samurai (sword saint) 7 (Order of the Warrior)

you guys just got 350 xp for freeing the prisoners...

Which would bring me and you to a total of 1,920... almost!

Liberty's Edge

Human (Minkai) Samurai (sword saint) 7 (Order of the Warrior)

Uh, guys - I think we might have a problem.

If I'm interpreting those last two attacks (mine and Haun's) right, we're looking at something with an AC 22 or 23, plus either DR or (more likely) hardness 5... and I'm thinking that's going to be a serious issue for us.

Also, no need to apologize, Haun - it's not your fault we're in such terrible terrain. I'd've supported falling back, but I think it's more interested in blocking our entrance to that room than coming after us - but if I'm right about its stats, we may not have a choice...

Liberty's Edge

Human (Minkai) Samurai (sword saint) 7 (Order of the Warrior)

The other possibility is that I did hit, and so did Haun, but neither of us did any damage, because we're looking at hardness 10. Which is perhaps more likely, now that I think about it, but still not good for us, since only Brock can get through that much hardness, and then only on a good roll. Looks like it might be up to him and Quick (since I think her electricity would get through as well) to get the job done...

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Not to speak out of class, but Brock did indeed damage the thing, which would confirm the first hypothesis. Not that I'm telling... ;o)

Shadow Lodge

I do think Quick is at an advantage in terms of the kinds of damage she deals, but I don't think the entire battle can be hinged on her!

A quick side note, i broke my computer today, so i can't update the maps until i get access to all of my things again! sorry, but it's really lame!

I can do maps temporarily, xdahnx, if need be. But, I'd want to give the job back to you as soon as feasibly possible.

Shadow Lodge

Yeah, I really feel like crap; I've lost so much stuff for all of the games I'm DMing...

This looks to be a fairly tough battle, so if you'd like to take over mapping of it, it would certainly help everyone out. No pressure; I'm half expecting us all to leave the place shortly. Living or otherwise...

Sorry to hear about your computer trouble, xdahnx. I don't think the mapping is going to be a major headache, but in case you'll stand and fight this thing, maybe WorsT should step in for a short while, just to get things in order.

I won't be able to post till sunday afternoon

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

I've been a bit curt lately (busy time at work) but I just wanted you to know that I've been grinning... er, smiling a lot lately at your antics.

I hope you appreciate the slightly zany style of this part of the campaign. You're doing a great job of it, anyway.

What do you mean ; Grinning ?

we are professionals here ! We come in , we do what it takes to do the job and we exit with the money !
the fact that some of us are sometimes professionals in drag is irrelevant !

That's just because Thrakhir is too short; it's only drag on account of the cape dragging behind him.

And I'll have you know, there's nothing zany about a cowboy cleric with an imaginary friend made of electricity.

Liberty's Edge

'Course not.

Did I mention I made Kirwen so I could be the sane one in the party for a change?

And when did you change your idea ? :)

...? Whats goin on?

In what sense?

I think we were waiting for xdahn which had computers problems but I might be wrong there

Shadow Lodge

I don't think you were waiting for me. WorsT said he was going to map in the interim, but I got my laptop back sooner than expected, and I can now photoshop again!

I thought Thrakhir was the sane one! Guess not.

Wow, that's great. I will happily forget I ever promised to map. ;)

Brock as best as I can count , we are at 1960 xp
Where am I counting wrong ?

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Since this is a good time to catch your breaths I thought I should ask for a little feedback about the direction of the campaign. As you've noticed there are leads to both city, wilderness and dungeon adventuring, and your characters may have some personal axes to grind.

With Kirwen and Thrakhir the group's composition has altered somewhat and you tend to pull in different directions at times. That's a part of good role-playing but I hope that nobody feels left out.

If you feel like expanding on your background, you're welcome. I'll see if I can't throw a few more hooks into this chaotic mess.

And Quick's axe gets bigger and bigger...She can't help but feel like the gauntlet they just ran through to save these innocent people is being put back in place by the hands of slimeball politicians.

She's determined not to let them fall through the cracks, and certainly not to let them get treated like human cattle, being freely moved around as serves the whims of the powerful. She'll resist that until her dying breath. In the meantime, she fully intends to teach them to make something of themselves.

Quick would have freely gone to eliminate the bandits, but now she's not so sure. In fact, a group of resistance fighters attacking the wealthy and aristocratic sounds right up her alley...

Brock is more black and white, he doesnt understand where he fits into it all. If there is people treating other people as slaves those slavers you could call them are his enemies. If there are people who are killing the wealthy simply to make a point. then thats not right either and those are his enemies. Right now Brock has no idea whats what and where he fits into it all.

crazy

yeah we were at 1,960 and we just got 40 which takes us to the next level. Right?

I have a running total of EXP in quick's profile, if that helps you!

Yes it does thanks, yep were at 2nd now Dude!

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Yeah, go ahead and level up. Unless you're going to get into trouble before that.

Well, we've rested (at the temple of Asclepius) since we've been given enough experience to. How do you handle levelling up, as a DM?

Getting into trouble is more or less possible at any given moment with this crew...

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

You need a day of downtime to level up, but I think you could do it hanging out at the Temple of Asclepius. In case you want to start a big fight in the morning you will only have your new hps, BAB and saves.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Mostly. Elf Wizard3/Master Enchanter7

Quick prays for new spells at the beginning of Dusk anyway, so she's also without those. I was certainly hoping to hang around the temple for the next little while...

You really had me afraid there . I thought you were going to try to murder the governor ....

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Just want to make things clear about Raven and Clark. I don't have a hidden agenda in including them - it just makes sense from a role-playing point of view. But you might not all want to share bread and xp with them, which is perfectly fine. This is the time to say so.

I'll be role-playing them as NPCs but if anyone feels like running one of them in combat, you're welcome.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Mostly. Elf Wizard3/Master Enchanter7

Even if we thought we could get away with it, murdering Ranlan Pool doesn't make sense...yet.

He already thinks Quick (and probably the rest of you) are total nutbar vigilantes. But even though Quick has suspicions of corruption from Pool, she can't act on them until she has further proof.

Even more so, she can't stop the beggars from going willingly. I admit I know nothing about this world, or Asclepius, or any of this stuff, but if everyone else is anticipating an attack against us (and presumably Beamus and the other beggars), then we should be too.

I'm cool for taking them along and running them through combat (mostly from the back, encouraging the rest of us, I imagine) if it's easier on you. Quick will certainly teach Raven what she knows about accessing Divine Magic...

M Dwarf Rogue

Just to make sure, Quick. We're cool. But I'm having a blast playing this side of Thrakhir. He's not really down with the idea of sharing any wealth with the two shave tails (although I personally don't have any problems with it).
