Haun |
Oh sorry BT I didn't mean it to sound as if I was bored with the game, I had some free time (oddly enough) and couldn't figure out what to do, so I was bored... And shouldn't we have enough to level seeing as its only 1,000 to first? If its 1,500 then I still think we make it with all the xp before.
Cant wait to see how these two groups get to mixing together!
Black Tom |
In that case Kirwen and Thrakhir start at 980. No big deal though, and I'm sure you'll find a few more xp exploring the rest of the temple.
... and don't forget to play nice. I'm having a blast reading the conversation this far, but remember that we want you to become a party in the end.
Shisumo |
Uh, guys - I think we might have a problem.
If I'm interpreting those last two attacks (mine and Haun's) right, we're looking at something with an AC 22 or 23, plus either DR or (more likely) hardness 5... and I'm thinking that's going to be a serious issue for us.
Also, no need to apologize, Haun - it's not your fault we're in such terrible terrain. I'd've supported falling back, but I think it's more interested in blocking our entrance to that room than coming after us - but if I'm right about its stats, we may not have a choice...
Shisumo |
The other possibility is that I did hit, and so did Haun, but neither of us did any damage, because we're looking at hardness 10. Which is perhaps more likely, now that I think about it, but still not good for us, since only Brock can get through that much hardness, and then only on a good roll. Looks like it might be up to him and Quick (since I think her electricity would get through as well) to get the job done...

I do think Quick is at an advantage in terms of the kinds of damage she deals, but I don't think the entire battle can be hinged on her!
A quick side note, i broke my computer today, so i can't update the maps until i get access to all of my things again! sorry, but it's really lame!

I can do maps temporarily, xdahnx, if need be. But, I'd want to give the job back to you as soon as feasibly possible.

Yeah, I really feel like crap; I've lost so much stuff for all of the games I'm DMing...
This looks to be a fairly tough battle, so if you'd like to take over mapping of it, it would certainly help everyone out. No pressure; I'm half expecting us all to leave the place shortly. Living or otherwise...

Sorry to hear about your computer trouble, xdahnx. I don't think the mapping is going to be a major headache, but in case you'll stand and fight this thing, maybe WorsT should step in for a short while, just to get things in order.
Black Tom |
I've been a bit curt lately (busy time at work) but I just wanted you to know that I've been grinning... er, smiling a lot lately at your antics.
I hope you appreciate the slightly zany style of this part of the campaign. You're doing a great job of it, anyway.
xdahnx |
The fact that some of us are sometimes professionals in drag is irrelevant !
That's just because Thrakhir is too short; it's only drag on account of the cape dragging behind him.
And I'll have you know, there's nothing zany about a cowboy cleric with an imaginary friend made of electricity.
WorsT |
Did I mention I made Kirwen so I could be the sane one in the party for a change?
I thought Thrakhir was the sane one! Guess not.
I don't think you were waiting for me. WorsT said he was going to map in the interim, but I got my laptop back sooner than expected, and I can now photoshop again!
Wow, that's great. I will happily forget I ever promised to map. ;)
Black Tom |
Since this is a good time to catch your breaths I thought I should ask for a little feedback about the direction of the campaign. As you've noticed there are leads to both city, wilderness and dungeon adventuring, and your characters may have some personal axes to grind.
With Kirwen and Thrakhir the group's composition has altered somewhat and you tend to pull in different directions at times. That's a part of good role-playing but I hope that nobody feels left out.
If you feel like expanding on your background, you're welcome. I'll see if I can't throw a few more hooks into this chaotic mess.
Quick and Spark |
And Quick's axe gets bigger and bigger...She can't help but feel like the gauntlet they just ran through to save these innocent people is being put back in place by the hands of slimeball politicians.
She's determined not to let them fall through the cracks, and certainly not to let them get treated like human cattle, being freely moved around as serves the whims of the powerful. She'll resist that until her dying breath. In the meantime, she fully intends to teach them to make something of themselves.
Quick would have freely gone to eliminate the bandits, but now she's not so sure. In fact, a group of resistance fighters attacking the wealthy and aristocratic sounds right up her alley...
Brock Brightmore |
Brock is more black and white, he doesnt understand where he fits into it all. If there is people treating other people as slaves those slavers you could call them are his enemies. If there are people who are killing the wealthy simply to make a point. then thats not right either and those are his enemies. Right now Brock has no idea whats what and where he fits into it all.
crazy
Black Tom |
Just want to make things clear about Raven and Clark. I don't have a hidden agenda in including them - it just makes sense from a role-playing point of view. But you might not all want to share bread and xp with them, which is perfectly fine. This is the time to say so.
I'll be role-playing them as NPCs but if anyone feels like running one of them in combat, you're welcome.
xdahnx |
Even if we thought we could get away with it, murdering Ranlan Pool doesn't make sense...yet.
He already thinks Quick (and probably the rest of you) are total nutbar vigilantes. But even though Quick has suspicions of corruption from Pool, she can't act on them until she has further proof.
Even more so, she can't stop the beggars from going willingly. I admit I know nothing about this world, or Asclepius, or any of this stuff, but if everyone else is anticipating an attack against us (and presumably Beamus and the other beggars), then we should be too.
I'm cool for taking them along and running them through combat (mostly from the back, encouraging the rest of us, I imagine) if it's easier on you. Quick will certainly teach Raven what she knows about accessing Divine Magic...
