Hopefully photobucket doesn't let me down!

Ok, that's cool, cause I haven't figured out ftp yet on my server, although I have other tools that you could probably use.

I was also wondering if you happen to be using Fractal Mapper as I could send you the file I have on Warwik and save you a significant amount of work if you had planned on mapping the city.

Male Human (Dunael) Druid

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Leave it to the new guy to use the wrong table. It all comes from playing too many min/maxed Barbarians.

I can reliably host maps for free from work if that helps.

This map is from an old campaign I ran.

Quick: Diplomacy for dealing with Betsy or does Quick want to do something else ?

Dark Archive

As I am running Brock's counterpart in the other party I have a question for him from the angle that I may be missing something with these new rules and all. I noticed you have a +6 to hit (non-raging) with your axe, may I ask how you reached that number? and is damage for an odd strength bonus rounded up or down?

Shadow Lodge

Male. Mostly. Elf Wizard3/Master Enchanter7

Well, of course I can't speak for Haun, but there are a number of things wrong with Brock's page. He should be at +4 as a normal attack and +6 while raging., with his damage being 1d12+4, ,or 1d12+7 while raging.

You always round down in DnD math.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Hm, that's worrisome. I mest admit that I haven't checked the math before, but you are indeed right.

Both Juliare and Robin think taking the thug with us is a bad idea

This is a guy that when captured by the enemy spills all his guts .
We don't even have time to ask questions , we already have the answers ...
We can't count on him not to let us in the lurch at the first opportunity at best .

Brocks Base Attack Bonus is +1 my strength is +3 = +4 to hit, +6 to hit while raging, and because of my Overhead Chop feat I get double strength bonus added to my damage making my +3 damage normal to +6 and my +5 damage while ranging into a +10

Sorry for the confusion. My bad I got all confused with the beta and I made it in a hurry and I made some mistakes.

Dark Arioch I wish I would have looked at your barbarian before I created mine we kinda are the same build (same feats, around the same ability scores), I'll see if I can switch that up as I go up in level so were not exactly the same.

Again sorry guys I'm going to college and working full time and I kinda rushed while making him, my bad!

Thanks for putting up with me!

Haun

Dark Archive

No problem. Actually I was hoping I missed something and could get a higher attack bonus. I'm still making mistakes all over the place with this new edition, so your not alone. As far as us being similar, no worries. Make him like you want to make him it'll be the roleplaying that sets us apart :)

Shadow Lodge

Male. Mostly. Elf Wizard3/Master Enchanter7

Not a problem Haun. I didn't factor in Overhand chop, sorry.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

No, not a problem for me either, but it's good to get it right. I reckon we need to help each other out getting the rules right. That's been my philosophy since 3.0 and it has served me well. Of course having good players helps and I've been blessed in that respect.

I'm completely lost there as a player .
Hessiah , I don't understand your last action . for me , we were waiting for you to give your opinion on whether we trusted the thug to attack the temple with us . Is you charming him your reply ?

Guys , are we still on ?

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Yeah, I tried to post yesterday but the boards were acting up. I guess there might be others that had trouble too.

What I was going to say is that I notice that the post rate varies a lot. Generally I expect people to post at least once a day, but I know that some of us manage to post more than that.

I like to push the game forward as fast as I can but I don't want anyone to feel left behind. So I think that you need to come up with a method for some of you to make the collective decisions (like whether you are going to the temple). In a battle I can post for you in a pinch if I haven't heard anything in 24 hours, but I don't want to make your decisions for you.

I would be grateful for input.

Male Human (Dunael) Druid

Once a day is all I can manage.

As far as making decisions and moving ahead, we do seem to be sort of leadership challenged as a party.

Once a day is quite enough !
I know I post more than this but in a way this set a bad example

I don't see us as lacking leadership but we rather have a problem choosing what to do.
Quick wants to go to the temple , I don't want to yet .
I thought that to break this dilemna , we could have a vote from each of us but it's been several days since we last heard from Hessiah and Brock
I have to say I'm becoming a little anxious about the future there
I hope I didn't make them go away

Shadow Lodge

Male. Mostly. Elf Wizard3/Master Enchanter7

I don't think it was you, Robin.

Although, I have certainly slowed down my own posting; I'm worried that we're setting a pace the others can't follow.

And the adventures of Quick and Juliare would go nowhere, with nobody to break a tie in decision-making!

I must correct you , it's the adventures of Juliare and Spark :)

Are we still on? I hope you aren't waiting for me. If there is anything more about the temple you need to know, just ask.

Dark Archive

Hessiah will be along the IC thread in a few hours.

Still on for my part .
I don't think we are waiting for you Tom

Male Human (Dunael) Druid

Yes. I have been checking for posts.

I started to go up and talk to the guards yesterday, but I could hear my old gaming group screaming "DON'T SPLIT UP THE PARTY!!!"

I was bad about that way back when.

Heh. Yeah, that's been the bane of many a party.

Ha ! Good memories ! Me as DM , 14 players , they did separate in five groups who did go the same way but just with enough time between each other that the 5 bandits dealt with the all .
One survivor: the one in the last group who ,when the battle began, did run away
I think Dahn must have problems posting at the moment. I did check some others posts in the forum and it has been some days since he last post .
Otherwise Waren , feel free to act , we'll follow .

Shadow Lodge

Male. Mostly. Elf Wizard3/Master Enchanter7

Yes, I'll apologize for my absence. I've had a rough week this week, and am only now crawling my way out of it!

I'll post a map of the temple entrance to get us started, in a little while!

In case you didn't catch it on the play thread, here's a link to the map of the temple, pre-combat

I know I very well may have doomed Brock maybe the group to death, but if it speeds the posting up so our game doesn't die I think its worth the life of I hope only Brock.

No problem

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

xdahnx: thanks for the map (and managing it). Have a hero point. I suspect that you have the map booklet?

Waren: you crack me up. Have a hero point too. We need some fun now that things are looking grim.

Liberty's Edge

Thank you very much! I shall put it to good use.

I have the book, yes. BT, a question of representation, are all three guards wielding longbows?

They are all equipped with longbows but only the one by the door has his bow drawn.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Hello everyone. I know that posting is slow on weekends, but I'd like to know which of you are still in the game and will be able to post at least once a day (or something like it).

Right now the game seems to have stalled, and I want to know how to proceed. I can see several options, but I need to know who's still in.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

SIR ! Present , SIR !

Tom, I know you said there might be an opening in the other group but really a TPK by dragon .....

I'm here, I really am but, whats going on because its hard to post everyday during my busy days when there's nothing to post, I hope this made sense

Male Human (Dunael) Druid

I'm here as well. Posting does seem to vary in frequency, but consider me all in. I think I am confused about initiative order and combat posting. Some tips/advice would be welcomed.

Or cues like "WARENHARI, GO @#%^ IT!" help, too.

Dark Archive

Still here.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

OK, the messageboards acting up don't make anything any easier.

I assumed that you dragged the unconscious guards inside and closed the doors so as to not attract any more attention. At that point the doors opposite opened, revealing a guard with a longbow and two more guards running to assist.

The last I can remember is that I asked for your positions (inside the temple) and new initiatives. Neither has been very forthcoming.

Regarding initiative, I'm fine with you posting in any order as long as you wait for the bad guys to act on their turn (since it may invalidate some actions). So if you please roll for initiative and then those of you who beat the guards' initiative are free to act. Clear enough?

Male Human (Dunael) Druid

I'm lovin' the maps. They're looking good.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

I'll be on a retreat for the next two days. Back Friday.

Male Human (Dunael) Druid

I am going to have to withdraw from the game for several reasons, none of them having to do with the game itself. I have enjoyed playing with you guys, and I appreciate Black Tom for letting me in and letting me play.

Good luck, and thank you again.

Warenhari/Saint Meerkat

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

It's been good having you, Waren/S:t Meerkat.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Can Po stay ?
It has been fun reading you

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

OK, this isn't working, and I think you'll have a hard time with the temple's forces without Waren (and as it looks Hessiah). I propose that Juliare, Brock and Quick make a run for it and regroup somewhere outside town. It might be wise for you to keep out of sight for a while. Fortunately there are lots of wilderness encounters and you might be able to pick up a companion or two.

What do you say?
