I have a deep and abiding hatred for everything Aerosmith did after the "Walk This Way" collaboration with Run-DMC. Perhaps I'm being unfair, but the reunited Aerosmith always struck me as the worst example of lcd, uninspired corporate classic rock. All those Alicia Silverstone videos were alright to watch with the sound off, but damn those were some terrible songs!

I loves me some Toys in the Attic, though. Sure, some of the Zeppelin-isms are obvious, and they coped their look off The New York Dolls, but in their prime they could rock and that's really all that matters.

Sweet Emotion, live 1977.

Toys in the Attic, live 1975.

No More, No More , live '75.

Has she made another one yet? And she's from NZ, right?

"Surfin' USA", of course, got the Beach Boys sued by Chuck Berry for copyright infringement.

Yep, she’s a Kiwi though I think she lives in Australia now.

She’s working on a new album but it hasn’t been released yet, I think it will be out early 2012.

The Futureheads

This came out around when Franz Ferdinand got big and all those bands re-doing postpunk as pop music were around and I was in heaven.
It reminds me a lot of the first XTC album, but with a bit more crunch.

I didn't like their second album as much and then I lost track.

I've also been listening to a Trojan Records comp of rocksteady sides produced by Clement "Coxsone" Dobb and Red Rice by Eliza Carthy who is second generation Brit-folk royalty.

Sadly the Rhomb are no more... I used to live down the road from them... funny guys, at the Big Festivals in Sydney they could get the crowd really going.

Another guy who used to live a few blocks over was Paul Mac from Itch-e And Scratch-e, Boo Boo And Mace, and Daniel Johns (Silverchair) side project The Dissociatives

The Dissociatives - Somewhere Down The Barrel.

The Dissociatives - Young Man, Old Man.

Not true. They never officially broke up, but ‘re-formed’ and toured last year or so when Jay (the lead singer) got back from swanning around Asia. They released a new album last week.

I met Billy Joel once. Not a big fan of his music, but he was a real nice guy AND he successfully identified obscure Woody Allen quotes. AAAAAAND he had a smoking-hot twenty-three year old brunette on his hip!

Big shot, indeed.

"Word the mother, I'm dangerous,
Crazier than a bag of f---- angel dust!"

Hee hee!

NSFW, obviously.

For those of you who need FIVE MORE MINUTES of Frankenstein with Edgar shamelessly showing off and the rest of the band as high as kites.

A rainy day mixtape post:

Sonic Youth--In the Kingdom #19 I don't know why he edited out the musical climax

The Futureheads--Stupid and Shallow live

Eliza Carthy--Accordion Song

The G Spot Boyz--Stanky Legg

CSS--Hits Me Like a Rock

The Mighty Hannibal--The Truth Shall Make You Free

If you only listen to one of these songs, listen to this one!

A friend of mine loaned me both the new Lonely Island "Turtleneck and Chain" and Weird Al "Alpocalypse".

They were good for 1-2 spins each.

I still love about 90% of Threw it on the Ground and burned that song onto my mp3 player but the others; Trouble on Dookie Island and Jack Sparrow and those...meh. I returned the cd.

Al has the amazing 'CNR' and 'Party in the CIA' and some of 'Polka Face', and probably the best song hes written Skipper Dan. it's pretty dam depressing. I already had 4-5 tracks from the 'internet leaks' EP.

Not a good day for funny stuff for me.
