Bow Down in Fear!

Monsters have long stalked us in the darkness. Within this book, you’ll find a host of these creatures for use in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Face off against archdevils and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, planar dragons and the legendary wild hunt, proteans and psychopomps, and hundreds more! Some creatures, such as the capricious taniwha, the mysterious green man, or the powerful empyreal lords, might even be willing to provide your heroes aid—if they deserve it!

Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 6 is the sixth must-have volume of monsters for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and serves as a companion to the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook and Pathfinder RPG Bestiary. This imaginative tabletop game builds upon more than 10 years of system development and an open playtest featuring more than 50,000 gamers to create a cutting-edge RPG experience that brings the all-time best-selling set of fantasy rules into a new era.

Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 6 includes:

  • More than 200 different monsters.
  • New player-friendly races, like the crazed monkey goblins, the telepathic albino munavris, the river-dwelling fey naiads, the wolflike rougarou, and the yaddithians of the Elder Mythos.
  • Numerous powerful demigods, from archdevils and Great Old Ones to empyreal lords and qlippoth lords.
  • New animal companions and other allies, such as fierce devil monkeys and loyal clockwork hounds.
  • New templates, including the entothrope and the mongrel giant, to help you get more life out of classic monsters.
  • Appendices to help you find the right monster, including lists by Challenge Rating, monster type, and habitat.
  • Expanded universal monster rules to simplify combat.
  • Challenges for every adventure and every level of play.
  • AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!

And i thought i didn't need this one!

5/5

I had thought when Bestiary 6 came out I wouldn't need it.

How wrong was I!

This book will definitely take it's place as one of the essential Pathfinder books in my collection, if you're waiting to get this, don't! Get it now!

Well done Paizo!

My one complaint is mine had the same s@+#ty yellow binding glue as the first printing of the Starfinder CRB, but I'm not dropping the rating because it is that good (also I still have binding glue leftover from my Starfinder CRB).

A solid addition

4/5

So Bestiary 5 was a bit disappointing to me, but this one is something that did something with Pathfinder I haven't seen in a while: gave me ideas that I wanted to use. A lot of the monsters presented are honestly interesting. As usual, there are some reprints from other products, but I always favor having consolidated lists of things. I won't use everything, but there is enough here that I'll be using a good chunk.

Also, the weremantis reminded me how much I love Portal, so I have to give it to them there.

Upward Trend

5/5

A wide variety of creatures with overall high quality artwork. I like the inclusion of the numerous high CR creatures.

Bestiary 5 and 6 have been my favorite Bestiary books by far.

Unusable

1/5

So me and two other guys from my gaming group ordered this book from amazon. WOW, all of us have missing and or scrambled pages.

I have over 17 missing pages (most of the archdevils content)and more or less 20 pages out of order. I don't know if they are sending all the "special" books down here, but I can assure you I will never buy a physical book from Paizo anymore.

As for the product itself: I'm stoked about all the demigods and other high-end entries (mythic or not) that'll be in it!

My groups (& GMs) want more powerful "monsters" to interact with.^^

Carry on!

Well, there goes my plan.

Well, there goes a lot peoples' plans... for that month anyway. Looks less likely the product description will update before the end of the year but I am still hoping it will.

Liberty's Edge

I can accept a delay. Paizo is pretty good with release dates. Every now and then it's expected for a product date to change at short notice.

look at it this way: it's still coming out and not being indefinitely delayed. More time for things to be added, perhaps.

30 days more for hoping that it won't be delayed or that an extra preview will be posted! After all, what else is there to live for?

Well hopefully that will be the only delay.

So, Paizo, while we're waiting, is it still too early for any information on who the empyreal lords're going to be?

ARSHEA! ARSHEA! ARSHEA! ARSHEA! ARSHEA! ARSHEA! ^_^

We need stats for Ashava, Pulura, Ragathiel and Soralyon, as now they have prestige. But I would also love to see the Black Butterfly among them.

It would be nice to at least know how many empyreal lords will be in the book.

Damerrich if you please. The dude is the most evil looking defender of Law ever. He deserves a page :3 though I'd love to see Apsu :3

Well other then the empyreal lords, arch devils, horsemen and kaiju, I wonder what the other CR26+ creatures will be.

Nope. The delay is not "we need more time to finish the book" but more of a "we need more time for the book to get printed and shipped and all that." The book was sent off to the printers a few weeks ago. The time for things to be added more or less ended then. It actually ended in the 1st or maybe 2nd week of December, when I realized we'd almost reprinted a megafauna and I had to swoop in and replace it with something new with a much larger horn.

And fine... in an attempt to soothe things over regarding the delay... the following three Empyreal Lords are statted up in this book, and are listed in order of power, with the first being the highest CR and the last being the lowest CR of the three...

Arshea
Black Butterfly
Ragathiel

Hope that revelation doesn't make folks angrier than it does make them happier! :-P

Black Butterfly and Ragathiel are amazing, thanks.

Whoa I was quoted by James! And thanks for the information!

Awesome...thanks for the news on what empyreal lords are covered!

Awesome, I am happy that Black Butterfly and Ragathiel made it in.

Elasmotherium?

That would have been bad if we got a reprint from a past hardcover bestiary.

They really need to use Procoptodon the giant kangaroo in this beatiary, the only megafauna I really still need. Most others will be just different sized monsters that are already in the book somewhere.

Nice, he got it right on his try.

Awesome! A very interesting beast.

An elephant sized rhino that was at least as fast as a horse. One of my favorite extinct megafauna beasts.

Well since we are getting more combat fey, more powerful monstrous humanoids, then what about the oozes? Other then having some more intelligent types. Maybe they will have special movement abilities like 100+ land speed, flight, phasing through solid objects, etc.. Maybe they will have spell powers, spell casting, and/or unique supernatural abilities.

Any chance we can find out wich three kaiju made it into B6?

I really don't understand why i'm lessed hyped for this book than even for Bestiary 1. This bestiary feels to me like the popular boy of the class with all the popular (minus Cthulu then, he should have been in this one) monsters. Big high CR guys ect ect, many reprints (probably from my least favorite AP's the Demon and Robot AP) and overal monsters I don't really care for.

You've already said that about a dozen times now. Your point has been made.

Would it help if I said that it'll be the best bestiary ever?

Todd Stewart - I hope so, but all the monsters so far revealed aren't really doing it for me, spare for Krampus maybe, but its an unique. And there are 100 monsters less than normal. I hope we get an update soon, so maybe I can be hyped with the rest again... this description doesn't really show any monsters from myth that aren't unique.

It's the first Bestiary that I've directly worked on (as opposed to having monsters I created elsewhere included or updated in the book). Of course it'll be the most awesome! :D

;)

Well congratulations Todd Stewart on being a (major?) contributor for B6.

Dook?

is...is this about Proteans and Protean lords....

It's Todd, so whatever it is, it's:

a) planar,
b) weird,
c) sprinkled with strange biologist lingo,
d) excellent.
