Celegon's arrows put both of the skulk vampires down. Then Grobral drops a holy word spell on the hidden beast. It roars but otherwise seems unaffected.

Athos, Beast, Aram, Glimwick

Athos leaps into the hole (10' move) and leads with his rapier inflicting a horrendous wound (78 dmg including bleed).

The beast retaliates and lashes out but Athos responds with a parry and riposte and finishes the beast off before it can strike with more than one tentacle (cool ability).

A detect magic check (assuming this would be the standard) reveals 4 magic rings on the skulks (rings of protection +2). The hidden beast has bracers and a normal looking platinum ring with a diamond and a sihedron ring (bracers +5, ring of invisibility, a sihedron ring numerous abilities with no divination magic).

A Sihedron ring grants a +3 deflection bonus to AC, a +3 resistance bonus on all saving throws, and protects you with endure elements. At will, as a standard action, you can use the Sihedron ring to change the appearance of your clothing or armor into any other kind of clothing or armor. The actual clothing and armor worn retain all their properties (including weight) when glamered—only true seeing or similar magic reveals the true nature of your adornments.

ok why did the master vamp have the sihedron ring? the monk likes the bracers but the witcher needs them most

Celegon and Glimwick both take turns looking at the Sihedron ring, studying it to make sure there is no Divination magic on it that could track them.


we need to hunt down the rest of the undead or we are just going to have this problem again. I vote to keep hunting till all of them are properly staked.

“I’m in complete agreement with that. However, I do want to make sure this ring isn’t able to track us. We don’t want another group of giants and lamias to come visit us when our guard is down.” says Celegon.

Neither Glimwick nor Celegon detect any divination magic on the sihedron ring.

Without warning, Grobral collapses in spasms of agony (FOR save DC 15, rolled a 22). His skin shifts between normal and translucent before settling back to normal. He is breathing heavily but appears otherwise uninjured.


Aram has remove disease mercy he will use on Grobral.

Aram finds that remove disease does not work. Instead it takes two different mercies, remove diseases and remove curse. But finally, Grobral feels better.

How long do you take to hunt down the others? How do you go about the hunting? Who is taking which item? I assume Grobral gets the bracers of armor +5 and a ring of protection +2. Does anyone wear the sihedron ring?

Celegon will put on the Sihedron ring. He'll pass his Ring of Protection +2 to Glimwick.

We don't want to spend too long hunting down these vampires, but look to see if there is a common place they all go to rest. Either destroy them, or their coffins. But I think we go back and let our friend know the master vamp has been destroyed first.
