Will Paizo mail out Shattered Star minis so that they are in hand to their subscribers by release date? It is such a bummer to be a case subscriber and not get your case for days after release. Your FLGS has people opening their boosters, and you just sit hoping that some day soon you can open yours. And those people aren't even Paizo case subscribers. :(

I was finally able to buy a RotR case (w/o the Huge case) and also buy the Rune Giant ... and I am not sorry I did.
I forgot (however) to utilize my holiday13 discount. :(
I know it can't be used on preorders (as would be the case with the Shattered Star miniatures set ... as of right now) but I was wondering ... once the set is "off" preorder and can just be purchased ... would I be able to use the holiday13 discount and save about $40?
Also, I have been especially fortunate and have gotten (2) $50 paizo gift certificates (one is already added to my account as store credit, the other was printed out and given to me) ... *IF* I can order the Shattered Star minis set and apply the holiday discount, would I be able to pay for $100 of the amount with those GC/store credit and the rest on my bank card/charge card?
I know it's a somewhat complicated question (and likely made more complicated by the way I asked it) but hopefully you get the gist. If what I'm asking can't be done, it's not a deal breaker (of course) but then I'll need to decide what I'm going to purchase with my "paizo bucks". :) And save an additional 10% on.

Now that we are only around 3 weeks out any chance we can get a breakdown on whats in the case. Not the actual minis but sizes - how many large vs medium - and rarity?
Size breakdowns have been in the product description since the beginning:
Shattered Star Standard Boosters contain 1 Large figure and 3 Medium or Small figures
Shattered Star Standard Bricks contain 8 Standard Boosters (32 figures total)
Shattered Star Standard Cases contain 4 Standard Bricks (32 Standard Boosters, 128 figures total)
So a case gets you 32 Large and 96 Medium or Small.
WizKids does not release rarity breakdowns.

As soon as the minis are no longer on pre-order, you can order them using the holiday code.
You can combine the use of store credit and holiday discounts.
Please note, the case premium Blue Dragon is only available when the case is pre-ordered or purchased via the Battles subscription. **
If you have further questions, please post over in the customer service forums as I'll be sure to see it over there. (I almost missed seeing this one!)
**Edit: So it turns out that Runelords cases/premium were set up incorrectly. We had intended that after the pre-order date you would not be able to get the premium unless you subscribed. However, we've learned some things with the first two Battles sets and after reviewing this policy we have decided that for each case, regardless of whether it is in a subscription or pre-order or regular order, you will be able to buy one case premium. Subscriptions of course still have the 75% discount on the case premium.

Oh, hi Sara Marie ...
Sorry about that, but thanks for the information (especially regarding the blue dragon premium). I'll be sure to post further questions like this in the CS forums. :)

Dean

Vic, to be clear, by releasing before then do you mean not shipping, or not arriving until 1/23? I know some times like with video game release dates companies will allow shipping to arrive on release day, as long as it's not getting into customer hands any earlier.
Not sure if that follows for minis, but just making sure I don't narc someone out if they're not actually being bad :P

Anybody had their orders ship yet? I thought they were shipping the 16th?
Your subscriptions are set to "Hold Sidecart for Monthly Shipment" which means that if the minis start shipping before the regular Pathfinder subscriptions, your order will wait for the Pathfinder subscriptions. If you'd like to change them to ship ASAP you can do so on your My Subscription page. We are currently processing the regular orders so you should see your confirmation email as we spawn an order with your minis and AP come through in a few hours.
If you're ever curious about the when's and what's for the months subscriptions, I try to post updates in customer service forums toward the beginning of each month. Here is January's.

A full set from the last booster in the case, whew.
The sculpts on the elemental series are phenomenal.
The Clockwork Reliquary is so intricately detailed, it boggles the mind how you didn't lose any detail when it was painted.
But my favorite mini of the set has to be the alchemical golem. The number of translucent colors on that model is ridiculous and when lit correctly (like from my laptops monitor), it appears to have a green glow coming from the solid colored tubes thanks to the entire model being a translucent base. Its so eerie and colorful . . . simply beautiful.
One complaint about the packaging. Alot (about 75%) of the large models were bouncing around the interior when I opened them up. This wouldn't be too bad, expect for the fact that in about one or two boosters a brick, the free roaming large had broken one of the smaller models. The hill giants and trolls were the main offenders, literally disarming their fellow packmates.
So, fair warning. Be sure to listen for the tell-tale sound of mite arms bouncing around when ripping open your boosters. Otherwise you'll have a nice double amputee spider-rider. I'm thinking of making mine a crippled master monk.

Well, at least they're fitting perpetrators of that sort of thing.
Bummer, though. I probably won't pick up any bricks or larger booster sets because of international shipping costs, but if I did and ended up with several broken minis I'd be pretty darn annoyed.

You already have your case? I live literally 20 minutes from Paizo and I have nothing. :( Hasn't even shipped yet (and yes, I have it set to ship separately).
Oh well, gives me more time to actually make some space for them.

I forgot to go back in and change the shipping for the Battles Subscription. Priority mail, though more expensive, got the minis here very quickly.
According to Google, I live 40 hours away from Paizo, so maybe you'd want to drop a line to Customer Service to check on it?
And @Kajehase, the handicapped minis can be repaired with a touch of glue, but I'd figure Paizo would like to know about the rampaging giants.

I received my two cases, with Blue Dragons, yesterday. I am from IL (Chicago area).
IS there no way to order a case bundle for this set? I have my subscription one coming but was looking at a second.
There is no case bundle for this set, it would just be a case. The only reason Rise of the Runelords had a case bundle was there was the booster case and the case for the huge minis, you don't have that this time.
Although I am not sure if you get the Blue Dragon if you just order a case straight from the website. I think you only get those from subscribing, but again, not really sure.

Steve Geddes wrote:You can order a premium along with a case but you don't get the heavily discounted price that a subscription gives you....unless you bump your subscription quantity up to 2 cases per release...
So, are you saying if you have a subscription of 2 cases already, if you order a third you would get the Blue Dragon at the heavy discount?
Or are you just saying the case you want to order would just be an additional case on your subscription, instead?
I ask because I already have 2 cases for my subscription. :)

Opened a case today. Gorgeous set, guys. Huge kudos on this one.
The only complaints I have:
1 - The mites are supposed to be tiny sized, and the derro small size. but the sculpts are pretty much the opposite; the mites are enormous compared to the derro.
2 - The swarms should be made so they're flat. That way you can put them under a character's mini when they enter that character's space, rather than just leaning them against the character mini's legs.
3 - I know this one's odd to hear, but with some of the larges you went TOO big. The water elemental flares out so much that getting minis in the adjacent squares will sometimes not happen, and the size of the troll dwarfs the sizes of the fire and hill giants (the opposite problem from the troll in the first set). They all look really good, though; don't get me wrong.
But, that's it. The set is amazing, overall, and an equally excellent addition for anyone who already has a good collection, or anyone who is just starting out in minisland. Awesome job!

Actually, it turns out that quantity changes only apply to the *next* sub shipment, so first do the quantity change, then contact customer service and they'll get you another case of the current release with the discounted premium.

Ok, that's what I thought you meant, but just making sure. :)

So, just to be clear:
If you have a subscription to one case & premium of Pathfinder Battles Minis and you decide you want two cases & premiums for the next set, just go to your My Subscription page, scroll down to the block describing the Battles subscription and adjust the subscription to two cases & premiums. When that set has shipped, go back to your My Subscription page and adjust (up or down) to however many cases & premiums you want for the next set.
There is a caveat to this. If your subscription shipment is currently pending or has already shipped you'll need to adjust the numbers on your My Subscription page and then also contact customer service so we can manually add in the extra sets.
edit: ninja'd by Vic!

Just looked at the Bestiary. Both mites and derro are small sized. So they are both properly sized.

Also, the Bestiary notes that both mites and derro stand 3 feet tall, which make them on the small side of Small. Couple that with the spindliness of the Derro illustration, and I think they're just smaller than you think. His pose is a bit hunched over, but if he were fully upright, he'd come up to Valeros' waist, just as he should. We really did pay a lot of attention to getting the scale right on these guys.

Heh. Whoops. So they are. I wonder where I came up with the idea they're tiny...
So, that knocks my list of complaints down to two. Even better!

I just finished opening my case from the friendly local game store. The miniatures, without exception, look great! The distribution was excellent as well, with multiples of all the monsters, and singles of the unique NPCs, just how it should be.
I did have half a dozen broken miniatures, so my only complaint is the packaging. I have a full set, but a number of the minis I only have one of are broken.
I checked the WizKids site and found their replacement system, but Shattered Star is not an option. Any idea when they will have replacements available?

I opened my brick (sorry, guys, finances won't allow more) of figs last night and was more excited with each box. While there were a couple of figs with less-than-ideal paint jobs (I am looking at you Sorshen), in general, I was very pleased with the figs I received. And overjoyed with the wyvern--holy cow! What a fig! And the raging troll, iron golem, and Xin. I will definitely be looking at singles to round out my collection.
