I hope it's not made of the same glossy paper as regular Paizo products, because I doubt you can safely use an eraser with them.
The price is really out there, $10 for a character sheet? Free RPG Day products have the same page count and a much more reasonable price.
I'd buy stale vomit if it was wrapped up in Wayne Reynolds' art.

Lore Warden is an archetype out of the Pathfinder Society Field Guide. As it's not core, it's not included in the base Hero Lab package; you'd have to purchase the additional data set that includes the contents of that book. According to this, that would be the Campaign Setting Package #6 for $4.99.

When you say "most people," I assume that you mean "most people who purchase this product will probably buy one for each of their characters." I can personally say that $10 for a character sheet is far too much for me to bat an eye at, no matter how fancy it is.

The $5 price tag we put on Free RPG Day products (after Free RPG Day, of course) is subsidized by a marketing budget. That is to say, they generally have a *goal* of just breaking even (more or less).
Also, even though they're both 16-page books, the Character Folio does have a higher manufacturing cost because of the pockets and gatefold cover.

I didn't say most people *will* buy one for each character.... I said most will *want to*. :-)

True. I'll buy one for my favorite character (if we ever finish that campaign), level him up to 20th lvl, write up a story about how he ended his days, put it all in the folio so that it will be a nicely wrapped memory.

Thank you, Joana.

I foresee a lot of people quiting their RPG subscription, buying the PDF, and then restarting the subscription again for Ultimate Equipment.
Probably a cool sheet, but $10 a pop? No thanks.
Even if I didn't want the hardcopy, and I do actually want the hardcopy, I still don't think I'd quit the subscription and buy the PDF. I have to figure the PDF is going to cost at least $6 and I get that included in the $10 subscription price so quiting to buy the PDF doesn't make sense to me. It does seem high for a character sheet, but it's a bit more than just a character sheet so I'm up for the one-time investment. I expect the folio cover itself with pockets would range in the $2 to $3 range if I were just going out and buying it as a stand-alone office/school-supply item. (That's with designer artwork pricing. A plain one would probably cost $1.)

This is a lot like the old AD&D Permanent Character Record Sheet, I think. Those were cool, and given inflation, actually significantly more expensive than these are.
Now, since I'm typically a GM, this has little use for me, but as a player, I'm all for it. In fact, this might make a nice gift for the players in my epic group ...

Those were great sheets. I still have several unused copies and several used copies. They were hard to get when they were released. I tried several times to get them from the Mail Order Hobby Shop (TSR) and they were always out of stock even when first released. I did find a few in stores through the years though. I didn't think anyone here even remembered this item.

Hmm.. what would make the physical version even better would be if the magic item slot page were a full sheet... actually, two sheets set up with pockets to hold a magic item card from the Item Cards line in each body slot. The reverse could be a similar setup with slots for the Condition cards and forthcoming Buff cards.
Just a thought.

Even moreso, I see the PDF doing very good sales, while the print version...doesn't.

While I've done that before, I'm okay to take the first one at full price and in all its pocketed glory, and then print after that.

While I really love the idea of a fancy extensive sheet in a sturdy binding and so on the biggest downside I see in this is that it's a one-sheet-fits-all approach (at least that's how I read the description).
PFRPG offers so much in customization of every single class that it's near impossible to squeeze all of the classes into the same sheet layout. It's bound to be too little space for one aspect and a lot of empty space in other places. I think the WOCT Deluxe Character sheets and what Happy Camper did is a much superior concept.
Alas, looking forward to it, would love to be proven wrong.

While I love the Happy Camper sheets (*****) my one complaint about them is that unless you're proficient with writing your name on a grain of rice, the squares for writing in your magic items is too small.
I've sent them emails on this but to no avail. AS it is, and until I learn how to use the PDFeditor, it is just wasted space as far as I'm concerned. My friends and I will have to keep using the old WoTC magic item sheet until that time.

Fillable PDF - even better: saveable fillable PDF
Having built a 4 page deluxe sheet with this... I can tell you that a 16 page folio would drive the developers INSANE. I'm seriously considering moving my products to some sort of multi-platform app with printing ability instead of fillable pdfs... but I'm not that good a programmer.
Also, I'll let this one hit my subscription. I'd been considering a folder-stapled idea for one of my later products, 10 bucks and not messing with my subscription is totally worth seeing how it would actually behave.

Well, seeing as how this will just put my subscriptions for that month over the $100 mark and therefore save me $10 on shipping, sounds alright but, I'm a GM not a player (as much as I want to be a player) so I'm not 100% happy about something like this being part of the core rules subscriptions. Not sure where ELSE it would fit though, so that's another reason I can accept it's placement. Though I also hope the PDF can be form fillable since that's more than likely the only way I will get much use out of it as a GM.

I've been a subscriber to the rules line since it began and I'm not yet ready to suspend my sub just to avoid a product ... but after the Beginner Box and this, I'm getting very close.
I'd prefer that the subscription line stayed focus on rulebooks, with limited-interest accessories left as optional purchases. With the overall increase in product Paizo is releasing, my monthly gaming outlay is reaching its limit, leaving less and less room for fluff products like this.
I realize making products like this (which I'd hazard would be of dubious viability as a standalone) part of a subscription may make business sense; it also may cost you subscribers in the long run. Hope that's useful feedback!

I will be getting it, cause I use a folder now. This is a much nicer folder, plus I am subscribing anyways. I doubt I would buy anymore than the first one, just print out copies to use of the sheet and use the single folder. But I do like what little I can see of the folder and sheet.
