Well, I'm excited to receive this anniversary book. I'm just curious though, will pathfinder EVER come to a point where the adventure paths take characters beyond 15th level and into epic levels? I know there are only the rare few, but I really do love sometimes taking a character and campaign all the way, and really push the envelope.

Perhaps some day. I'm trying to push Shattered Star as far as possible toward 20th, but I fear that I'll only reach 17th or 18th level.
There are other possible solutions, but I'll leave them for the future.
Some day.

We have plenty to enjoy between now and when that happens!

Unlikely as long as there aren't even rules for these levels.

I'm guessing that works for opinions as well! ;)
I rather loved the artwork in this book, so I'm guessing it really does work in this instance!
I'm not referring to the artwork inside the book. I don't have the book yet so I can't speak to the artwork inside. I'm talking about the cover. Not a fan of the cover. That is all.

I like most of the new art. There is one little inconsistency that's bugging me, though. All of the chapter headers are of the Iconic from each of the six original AP volumes, over the right side of the cover banner from the original issue of the AP. (For the Appendix, it's Karzoug on the right hand side.)
Except Chapter 6. Chapter 6 is supposed to have Harsk on the right side of the chapter break, it uses his face to mark the pages, but as for the chapter break itself, no big picture of Harsk, just the full background panel featuring the first 4 Iconics against a pair of Rune Giants, male and female. Nothing major, I know, but still a weird inconsistency.

That's... weird.
Because Harsk is right there on page 299 in the chapter break in my print copy. Might be a weird PDF error... hmmm.

I'll look into this. If it's a PDF error it will get fixed.

He's not in my copy either. I'm using PDF Complete to view mine.

Using Acrobat Reader X, he's not there in the Lite version. I have not looked at the full version, though.

Windows 7 64-bit, Adobe Reader X, Harsk is there.

Just looked at all Version...
He is only missing on the PDF for the Lite version, both Full and separated.
He appears fine in the normal version of the PDF.

![]() |

Hmm. I can confirm that, at least for my setup, the Lite version is also missing Harsk. I blame James Jacobs...his hatred of dwarves is the stuff of legend.
Harsk is actually one of the dwarves I like. Mostly because he's UN-dwarfy in a lot of ways. Such as the fact that he doesn't booze; he's a tea drinker.

Paizo doesn't offer Print/PDF bundles like many other publishers do. Instead, their business is based on a subscription model, wherein the customer subscribes to a product line and thus gets the PDF for free with their purchase.
In this case, the only way to get the PDF with the print copy is to preorder and be subscribed to the Adventure Path line at the time of shipment. That said, however, if you purchase the print copy from Amazon or some other store that is offering it at a discount, you could then buy the PDF from Paizo at full price and still get both for less money than you would pay for both at full price from Paizo.com. It's like a do-it-yourself bundle. :)

I get that Tsuto is a Half-Tian Half-Elf... But his face looks a lot less menacing now than it did originally. Just a bit too rounded. The stubble really didn't help there either.
Yes! I agree completely. There's less of a a snarl of contempt to this new art. (I like the piece of art by itself, just not in the context of Tetsuo though).

I really love the new scene with Amieko's dad. It sucks we're past Burnt Offerings with my group, they would have loved to do the scene.
I almost did something similar to the new encounter in the Boneyard in my game. Scraped it in the end but it's a pretty cool idea.
A lot of the transitions from chapter to chapter are smother, though I don't love all of them. Like between 3 and 4. I like the idea of the PCs not knowing that the giant attack is going to happen until it does. Like there back for the 1 year anniversary of saving the town. knowing the attack really changes the mood and feel of that battle (not that it's wrong I just like the chaos of the original battle as written). Of course if the PCs hate the whole "run your own fort" then then knowing the battle is eminent and rushing back to Sandpoint is great.
All and all I see this as an extended cut with more options at my finger tips, which is awesome. I'm falling in love with Sandpoint all over again. It's such a great town. There was a thread a while back with the OP stated there was no place in Golarion where he would want to live. Well Sandpoint is that place more than anywhere else! It's the type of place people want to retire to. Amazing job James!
But..... Tetsuo still writes a letter in Minkian (which he doesn't have) to Ameiko (which according to her stat block in Jade Regent chapter 1 doesn't have either).

Is anyone else having any weirdness with the interactive map file?
Specifically it not being "signed" properly and at least one of the maps not showing up until you play around with the player view/gm view buttons?
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I've gotten a couple reports about some map weirdness, and a few minor glitches. We'll be applying the changes and an email will automatically go out when the PDF gets updated.
The "signing" thing is normal, though. Acrobat and Reader consider the interactive elements to be "form" elements. You can disable this by going to your Preferences -> Forms and checking the box "Always hide forms document message bar."

The signing bar doesn't come up for any of my other interactive map files...
Making that preference change did get rid of the "sign" bar but the first time you click on the file it brings up a dialog box that the file can be signed (which you can hide, but still, odd).

Still waiting on my sending notification. Hopefully it ships today.
Just so you know, you're not alone. Of course I had some irregularity on my credit card so it held up the process two days. Not my fault but definitely not Paizo's.
I won't start running RotRL until the minis show up so really, no great rush. I've played it before (well, until the TPKs made the campaign implode in book 5) so it's not urgent for me.

I hope this is a sign that Paizo is doing really well. I've had my shipment for 6 days now.

My GM did not get his PDF authorized for download yet. He is an AP subscriber and also per-ordered the RotRL anniversary edition. Who would he speak to, to get this resolved?
Tell him to join the club. Paizo is still in the process of sending out shipments. I got my email the 5th saying it was getting ready to ship and still no shipment email as of yet. Paizocon really slows things down to a crawl.
Patience is a virtue.

For those of us in the USA, and if it is shipped via UPS-MI, it looks like UPS picked up a big batch yesterday from Paizo, because it just got entered into the UPS system, with a delivery date of 7/23. I'm in upstate NY, but others in the customer service forum have mentioned this also.
