![]() This is a Core game of the Special. You'll dot in (and be sure to delete!) in this thread. Or, feel free to post an introduction and engage in roleplay with one another before we get started. ![]()
![]() Greetings! This is the sign up/recruitment thread for the evergreen scenario #9-09: Beyond the Halflight Path for levels 3-7.
This is not a FCFS game. I will be choosing PCs for a well-balanced group. However, It may come down to lottery/dice rolls to choose from the applicants. To have a good chance of being chosen, please be sure you have a complete and tidy PC tagline & profile. I will look over profiles to make sure they are Core.
Standard posting rates apply: 1-2 posts/day & 1/weekend. I tend to post about twice everyday to keep the narrative flowing and the action moving. I don't "bot" PCs, however, another player is welcome to bot if you wish. Without further ado...

![]() You have been summoned to the Grinning Pixie, the ship—and mobile Pathfinder lodge—of Venture-Captain Calisro Benarry, which is currently moored off Tempest Cay, the northernmost island in the Shackles. Venture-Captain Calisro Benarry, a powerfully built half-orc, stands defiantly on the deck despite the driving winds. Sparse clouds are resplendent with the calm colors of twilight, but waves lap roughly against the ship as sea spray mists the air. After you have been chosen for this game, please introduce your PC and feel free to engage in roleplay with each other before we start, if you wish. ![]()

![]() Hello and welcome to my first game in our GM Round Table group,
Please fill in your information at RPGChronicles found
I like to post more than once a day, when I can, to keep the flow of the game going and my memory refreshed. I also like to post on weekends. I am fine with nobody posting on Sundays if they don't want to. I like to do Day Job rolls after the game, but, I also like to have players incorporate their day jobs into the game; gathering info at the local tavern? Have your bard do a stand-up routine for the locals. Faction Journal Card mission? Chat (roleplay) with the Venture Captain's servant to convince them to join the Exchange! Let's have an awesome super fun game! ![]()

![]() Agents of History, The Pathfinder Society and I have worked together closely to uncover forgotten secrets, particularly as I help secure the Society access to previously inaccessible Taldan artifacts. Recent events in Ridonport have caused quite a stir, and I believe Grand Prince Stavian III is preparing to retaliate in some fashion. Few know of his schemes, among these the Ulfen Guards who serve as his unwavering bodyguards. Of these, one has determined that it is his moral imperative to alert others of what he has heard of the grand prince’s plans. This is vital information. This is also whistle-blowing that puts that guard at risk. He is willing to take that risk only if someone first restores his family’s reputation in his homeland, the Land of the Linnorm Kings. Admittedly, he has not visited his homeland in many years, so his account of exactly how his family was defamed is unclear. Venture-Captain Bjersig Torrsen of Iceferry has informed me that he knows something of this guard’s dishonored past and has begun piecing together the first clues that might exonerate him. I have already written ahead to Bjersig so that he expects company, and I trust you will assist the Society and me in this matter. Even if Inner Sea politics don’t hold your interest, I trust a centuries-old murder mystery will. Also, please be considerate when meeting with Bjersig. He may be deaf, yet he is among the strongest, kindest, and most capable Pathfinders with whom I have corresponded. Lady Gloriana Morilla Feel free to introduce your PCs and roleplay your journey from Absalom to Iceferry as passengers aboard a large merchant ship. ![]()

![]() An enemy of the Pathfinder Society recently found a hidden dungeon in a centuries-old siege fortress, but despite his best efforts to convert it into his base of operations, he failed. When a pair of Pathfinders encounter disaster while scouting out the entrance, the party must explore the first level of the dungeon to determine not just what attacked their comrades but also what dark power their nemesis nearly acquired. Written by Jason Bulmahn. Greetings, Pathfinders! Welcome aboard! Now open for early GM Signups. General signups open on Feb. 10th, 2023. This is the recruitment thread for the PFS1e Special, The Ruins of Bonekeep Level 1: The Silent Grave. For tiers 3-5. This is somewhat First Come, First Served, however, if there are more than 6 players, I will possibly be choosing the players/PCs from the sign up posts here to ensure a well-balanced party composition. Also, be sure to read the warning in the Campaign Info section. Those wishing to apply, please post your character name, class, level, and significant build/role information you would like me and the other players to know. Feel free to post a character in the different subtiers if you would like. ![]()

![]() Hi, all! Post the usual: Player Name:

Halflight Path
![]() The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple, especially given the importance of the occasion:
The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign of a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table.
“But today! Today you will begin your Confirmation! Master Farabellus, Master Zey, and I all agree you each have shown your worth and dedication to the Society, so there’s no better time to see if you can handle becoming full field operatives. Allow me to introduce you to Janira Gavix,” he says as he motions for an excitable halfling woman to approach. She wears a large backpack and carries all manner of tools, pouches, and scroll cases around her waist. Shaine continues, saying,
Janira speaks up in an enthusiastic and cheerful voice,
Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation, you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn what the gillmen are up to in there. Oh, and you need to come back alive as well.” Please introduce yourselves to the others. ![]()

![]() Recruiting for Level 1 PFS PCs here.
The standard 1 post/day & 1 post/weekend applies. But, if you can post more than that, excellent! I can post several times a day and even more on weekends to keep the game moving. ![]()
![]() I'm having an issue about a Bard's Signature Spells in a game. The GM says that my Signature soothe spell on my 3rd level Bard takes up a 2nd level slot when I cast the heightened version. From what I can tell, Sig Spells do not take up a higher spell slot when casting a heightened version. It says it right there: "You don’t need to learn heightened versions of signature spells separately; instead, you can heighten these spells freely." Heightened freely like a cantrip, right? Signature Spells from CRB:
"Experience allows you to cast some spells more flexibly. For each spell level you have access to, choose one spell of that level to be a signature spell. You don’t need to learn heightened versions of signature spells separately; instead, you can heighten these spells freely. If you’ve learned a signature spell at a higher level than its minimum, you can also cast all its lower-level versions without learning those separately. If you swap out a signature spell, you can choose a replacement signature spell of the same spell level at which you learned the previous spell. You can also retrain specifically to change a signature spell to a different spell of that level without swapping any spells; this takes as much time as retraining a spell normally does." What would be the point of having Signature Spells if I had to use higher level spell slots like any other spell? ![]()
![]() How would you handle the wind blast ability from the cloud subdomain (referenced below) in how it affects a cloud golem? Would it work like how a gust of wind spell does against a cloud golem? Cloud Golem stuff:
• A control winds spell destabilizes a cloud golem’s body and dazes it for 1 round.
• A magical effect that deals electricity damage affects the cloud golem as per haste for 1d6 rounds and ends any slow effect on it. • A gust of wind or wind wall spell affects the cloud golem as per slow for 1d6 rounds and breaks any haste effect on it. • An alter winds spell deals 2d6 points of damage to a cloud golem. Wind Blast (Su):
CRB wrote: Supernatural abilities are magical attacks, defenses, and qualities. These abilities can be always active or they can require a specific action to utilize. The supernatural ability's description includes information on how it is used and its effects. --------------------------------- Gust of Wind
A Tiny or smaller creature on the ground is knocked down and rolled 1d4 × 10 feet, taking 1d4 points of nonlethal damage per 10 feet. Small creatures are knocked prone by the force of the wind. Medium or smaller creatures are unable to move forward against the force of the wind unless they succeed at a DC 15 Strength check. Large or larger creatures may move normally within a gust of wind effect. This spell can't move a creature beyond the limit of its range. Any creature, regardless of size, takes a –4 penalty on ranged attacks and Perception checks in the area of a gust of wind. The force of the gust automatically extinguishes candles, torches, and similar unprotected flames. It causes protected flames, such as those in lanterns, to dance wildly and has a 50% chance to extinguish those lights. In addition to the effects noted, a gust of wind can do anything that a sudden blast of wind would be expected to do. It can create a stinging spray of sand or dust, fan a large fire, overturn delicate awnings or hangings, heel over a small boat, and blow gases or vapors to the edge of its range. ![]()
![]() So, I recently got a chronicle for a tier 7-11 game and we played high tier.
Also, this is the first time in 11 years of PFS that I had the low tier items crossed out after playing high tier. The GM said this is somewhat normal for UK/Europe to cross out the lower tier items, but, I've never seen or done this when I GM here in the US. The chronicle is from #9-11: The Jarlsblood Witch Saga, btw. ![]()
![]() I created a Lizardfolk druid and want to have his weapons be similar to stone-age weapons. I couldn't find anything regarding stone-age materials on Archives of Nethys for 2e. I want his spear to have a clovis point made of obsidian. And a tortoise shell shield. I also have a woodlands ranger and I want to say his bow is made partly of large deer antlers and that his dagger is a hunting/skinning knife. Is this ok to do in 2e? ![]()
![]() Are others canceling or planning on canceling their PFS games due to CoronaVirus? I talked with my VC tonight and since attendance at our game stores has been very low, we decided to possibly cancel games until this has blown over. I haven't sent out the notice to my players yet. Wondering what others think. ![]()
![]() GtOP wrote: This faction boon represents your developing initial contacts with the Envoys’ Alliance faction, allowing you to gain Reputation with the faction. While you have this boon slotted, you gain Reputation with the faction after a successfully completed adventure, as detailed in its Primary and Secondary Objectives. Does this mean that if I'm playing a PC of the Grand Archive, and I slot this boon at the beginning of a scenario featuring the Envoys' Alliance, I can earn reputation and Envoys' Alliance chronicle sheet boons if I complete the E.A.'s mission? ![]()
![]() I was planning in my head all day of making an Elf Champion (Liberator) of Erastil but noticed when I got home that Erastil doesn't have Chaotic Good for a worshipper's alignment. This makes no sense (to me) for an Elven deity of home & community. Also, Asmodeus: No Lawful Neutral worshipper's alignment? I thought most Chelaxians that worshipped Asmodeus were LN. ![]()
![]() Klaus & Inga were a young couple in love. The night before their wedding, Klaus was killed by a werewolf when he was out hunting. He now manifests as a hybrid werewolf phantom within his one true love. Inga
Str 10, Dex 15, Con 13, Int 14 Wis 16 (+2 human), Chr 10 Klaus the werewolf phantom (anger) Str 14, Dex 12, Con 13, Int 7, Wis 10, Cha 13
Feats: Power Attack, Cleave
That's what I have so far. Suggestions & comments would be greatly appreciated. ![]()
![]() I never have but meant to do so. Last year I picked up some 6"x8" acrylic menu stands, drew up & printed out pictures of my PCs to put in the stands and I have yet to place them on a table for a game. I only see about one or two people at a table using a table tent. With the big explosion of new players in my area (Denver) I think I'm going to start using them.
