I'm sorry, I have to drop out of this game due to real life!
Sorry to hear, but thank you for the heads up. I hope all is okay. Take care.

Lybram would like to make some purchases before we get rolling ...
Cloak of Resistance +1 for 1000g
Pearl of Power (lvl 1) for 1000g
MWK cold iron Heavy Mace for 324g
Scroll of lessor restoration 150g
Scroll of delay poison 150g
total:2624g
If all this can be obtained, I will adjust Lybrams saves, attacks, and belongings lists.

GM Roll4initiative |

Yep. No problem. The streets are abuzz with excitement and revelry. All shops are open, including various street stalls and kiosks with vendors selling food and merchandise from all over Avistan.

GM Roll4initiative |

@Raknir: If you wouldn't mind filling out the rest of your PC header with the basics (Race, class, alignment, AC, saves, etc...) it'd be greatly appreciated.
@Everyone:
Specials tend to run fast in PbP due to cooperation (and sometimes competition!) with other tables. There will most likely be 2 posts/day from me. Please try to keep up.
I really don't like botting other players, especially during combat since I usually have no idea what they want to do at the moment, so, I will put them on delay. Others may bot you as they wish. Hopefully you have botting instructions in your PC profile. I will retcon if it comes down to it. In fact, there will be retcons since I'm not the World's Most Perfect GM.
Just try to keep up is all I'm asking.
Let's have a Super Awesome Fun Time Game!
Oh! And regarding dice formatting, I'm on a phone. No computer whatsoever. I prefer if you keep attack and damage separate.
+1 Mighty Toothpick of Stabbing: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Wooden Piercing: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Sneak?: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9

![]() |

Is this format acceptable or do you need the separate lines?
MW Scythe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 for Piercing: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (2, 4) + 7 = 13

GM Roll4initiative |

Is this format acceptable or do you need the separate lines?
[dice=MW Scythe]1d20+9 for [dice=Piercing]2d4+7
Nice Crit!
That's good, actually. It shows up as separate lines on my vertical screen. And you noted the type of damage.

GM Roll4initiative |

Looks like just the 4 of you. There are a couple more days until we officially start. One more player would be nice.

Posting on a phone? I do sometimes but always have issues trying to move on the maps. In fact I usually have to ask others for help with moving when posting by phone. Is there some secret to this? It has always been a problem for me.

Google slides works great on my phone. I can't do everything like on a computer, but, it's plenty.
I wonder why you have issues. I have a Motorola G Fast from, like, '20.

Whenever you have time, please fill out your info on RPGChronicles >>HERE<<.
Done. Sorry for doing it that late.
Purchases: Wand of Comprehend Languages (2 PP)

Lybram & Raknir,
Please finish filling out the Slide with your info. Combat is about to begin.

Done with slides. I will post with Li'le Fella Ninja like so he will be in the characters tab.

GM Roll4initiative |

Done with slides. I will post with Li'le Fella Ninja like so he will be in the characters tab.
Ok. And to simplify things, Li'l Fella will go on your PC's initiative.

Li'le Fella |

Li'le Fella is new to me. I have never run an animal companion before. Lybram does not have handle animal at all, but he gets it with his companion supposedly, with no bonus(+0). I looked at the book and could not find if companions come with any training or built in tricks, they do have one bonus trick on the table. Right now, Li'le Fella only has "heel", as his bonus trick. He will be along for the ride for the most part, unless you all have any more information I can look at to figure these companion things out.
I do have a bird with a ranger I have, but I only use it to fetch my arrows.

![]() |

An animal with an Intelligence score of 1 can learn a maximum of three tricks, while an animal with an Intelligence score of 2 can learn a maximum of six tricks.
-Handle Animal Skill
In addition to the bonus trick(s), the companion should know an extra three tricks per point of intelligence. When the companion first starts off, it should know these (your bear should have six).
I’d suggest attack twice, defend and down. I’d set my default trick as defending Lybram or Heel. You need attack taken twice or Lil’Fella won’t attack certain unnatural enemies. That leaves at least two other tricks he can know.
It still takes a Handle Animal check to get them to do the known trick, but the DC is only 10 and it should be a free action. AND you get a +4 on this check with Lil’Fella, even with no ranks in HA. But I don’t think HA is a class skill for you unless you have a trait or something, so it may be hard to get that modifier up easily.
If Lil’Fella dies though, it is a pain in the butt (in society play) to teach a replacement animal those six tricks.

![]() |

That all sounds good. I think the suggestions above are great. I will update Li'le Fella to have six more tricks. Plus, I will roll to see if he follows the command from now on. Thanks for the help. Looks like I need a 6 or better to get him to do his stuff with the +4 bonus.

GM Roll4initiative |

I'm sure you may have noticed, but, I've been trying out the free version of ChatGPT to rewrite some of my posts.
Wow! Amazing! I do have to go back and fix some words & grammar here 'n' there, but I'm really loving how it makes my high-school level writing a lot better!
Do any of you use AI to help write your posts?
Is it bad that I do this? I've heard it's plagiarism, but, I just write "Make my writing more exciting." before I paste what I already wrote.

GM Roll4initiative |

Lybram stares in horror as the now burning spiders start to move. "Killed by spider bite, how heroic." "Could have died fighting a black dragon, but done in by a black widow."
[dice=Untrained Acrobatics check]1d20 + 2
Raknir picks his way carefully out of the spider swarm, making his way around the room towards the remaining goblin.
Spiders? Where did I mention they are spiders?

![]() |

I am sorry, I just looked at the token and thought I saw spiders. Lybram must be nearsighted. Or maybe farsighted as the beetles are right next to his face. My appologies for causing the confusion.

GM Roll4initiative |

No prob. I understand the confusion. Plus, it's probably that spider swarms are encountered much more often than beetle swarms.

![]() |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Considering this is my first time fighting beetle swarms and I have fought spider swarms A TON, I would agree.
Oooh, I have an oracle with horrid vision. I should totally miss-ID things, even after knowing what it is. :D

![]() |

Unfortunately, Corba isn't trained in Disable Device.
And Rocky isn't either. ;-)
A quick look at the profiles of the other characters revealed that none of us are trained in DD, so we have no other choice but try to bypass the artifact.

(Meta-)Game question: Would my bardic performance Countersong help against Leon's condition? And do I first need to identify the spell or ability used to be able to deduct this?
At 1st level, a bard learns to counter magic effects that depend on sound (but not spells that have verbal components). Each round of the countersong he makes a Perform (keyboard, percussion, wind, string, or sing) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet of the bard (including the bard himself) that is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use the bard's Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform check result proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a noninstantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use the bard's Perform skill check result for the save. Countersong does not work on effects that don't allow saves. Countersong relies on audible components.

![]() |

Most likely not. It definitely isn’t a sonic attack and probably not language dependent.
The GM listed the attributes and neither of those things were listed.

![]() |

Sorry, i don't usually memorize remove fear. It would probably do the trick. I have hold aminal which might (probably not) help you not run too far, but the wall is probably etter for that.
I have a scroll of protection from evil. It might do something, it helps with domination, probably not the spell used here.
Spellcraft might help. I will look if I have anything.

GM Roll4initiative |

Unfortunately, countersong wouldn't work against cause fear.
Oops. Did I name the spell? Oh well.

GM Roll4initiative |

Thanks for playing, everyone!
In case any of you were wondering what the artifact actually is/does...
Cage of Soul Echoes (Minor Artifact) Aura: strong conjuration and necromancy; CL 18th Slot none; Weight 60 lbs.
DESCRIPTION: The Cage of Soul Echoes can be used to create a rift into the ethereal plane. The rift works in a similar fashion to a gate spell; however, some of the ethereal plane leaks into the surrounding plane, creating a strange ethereal mist. The artifact can be manipulated to control the speed, strength, and direction of the current.

Thanks for GM’ing!
Specials move soooo fast. That was crazy.

I am going to attempt the following Faction Journal Card goal. Wish me luck!
Forgo your Downtime to nonviolently fight for the cause of liberty by spending time organizing protests, freeing slaves, or distributing revolutionary material. Doing so requires a successful Disable Device, Knowledge (local), or Stealth check with a DC equal to 15 + your character level
Stealth DC 18: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

Congrats, Leon! :-)
For her day job Corba will Take 10 on Perfom (oratory) for a result of 25. ---> 50 gold.

![]() |

Lybram is a wood cutter, but can't use a battle axe. It is strange that this is how it works. So I have a MWK Battle axe for him that we will probably never use. I have been playing wit hhim taking a level of fighter or paladin maybe to give him a little more battle savy. Anyway,
day job role.
profession woodcutter: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

GM Roll4initiative |

Everybody roll a d20 for a boon! If you get a 1 or a 20, you get to choose one of the following:
A - Race boons for grippli, skinwalker, catfolk (pick one)
B - Race boons for triaxian, lashunta, android (pick one)
Raknir, please enter your info for my game >>Here!<< so that I can issue chronicles.

GM Roll4initiative |

Congrats, Raknir!
Jeez. I'm just so scatterbrained tonight. Raknir is correct. Players that roll a 1 or 20 will receive a boon from campaign leadership after reporting.
There's also a lottery being done for all participants of Gameday XII. Be sure your email is listed in your PC's signup on RPGChronicles for a chance to win a "Prize Voucher".

I thank you whole heartedly for running this. I am just sad we were kind of rushed through it. But all in all, this was a blast. Hope to see you all around on the boards. Thanks, everyone.

GM Roll4initiative |

Keep watch for my other games I will be GMing in the future. I'm considering running some of the 2 or 3 part arcs. I'm also looking into running some of the faction specific scenarios that my PCs need before they level out of tier.
Feel free to PM me suggestions if your looking to play something. ;)

![]() |

I am definitely interested! :-D
Will you be running also scenarios in the Standard Campaign or 'just' in the CORE Campaign?
