OK thanks.. seems you're all in agreement.

The Exchange

OK so with your version what level do you need to be in order to have 10d6 damage

The Exchange

Hmm there's definitely two ways of reading this

You must actually have sufficient caster levels to surpass the maximum in order to benefit from this feat

level 6 - check

spell increases the maximum number of damage dice by 5 levels

5 + 5 = 10

The Exchange

But surely if the caster has surpassed the max 5 d6 and now increases it by 5 levels - that's 10d6 ??

The Exchange

Intensified Spell (Metamagic)

Benefit: An intensified spell increases the maximum number of damage dice by 5 levels. You must actually have sufficient caster levels to surpass the maximum in order to benefit from this feat. No other variables of the spell are affected, and spells that inflict damage that is not modified by caster level are not affected by this feat. An intensified spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level.

Does this mean that at level 6 for a Shocking Grasp Spell - the total dice used would be 10?

If no - why?

Thanks

Hello

Is there any rule that says you can not create a magic item that is not listed?

Example - Ring of Dexterity

Thanks

The Exchange

All good points - thanks.

The Exchange

Hello,

Question 1: Can a Rogue sneak attack in every round from within 30 ft with a ranged weapon OR is it just the first round if the opponent is flat footed.

Question 2: If the opponent has a fellow party member next to him, does the ranged Rogue count as flanking for the purposes of sneak attack

Otherwise I don't see the point in having a ranged Rogue?

The Exchange

Its not a 'try' - i've never played a druid. Its just something that popped up in conversation.

The Exchange

Can the Druid at the correct level wild shape into an Invisible Stalker? It lists 'Air Elemental' as a choice.

Air elemental - outsider (air, elemental, extraplanar)
Invisible stalker - outsider (air, elemental, extraplanar)

As far as I can see an Invisible Stalker is an air elemental with the same descriptors.

Or does it mean the specific creature called an Air Elemental?

Thank you!

Can the Adopted trait be used to get the human racial trait 'Bonus Feat'?

Adopted: You were adopted and raised by someone not of your actual race, and raised in a society not your own. As a result, you picked up a race trait from your adoptive parents and society, and may immediately select a race trait from your adoptive parents' race.

The Exchange

Yes.. after thinking about it... the receiving race doesnt have the bonus feat, and the skilled traits. anyway... So they can't be 'replaced'.

The Exchange

Advanced Race Guide: page 72

Dual Talent: Some humans are uniquely skilled at maximizing their natural gifts. These humans pick two ability scores and gain a +2 racial bonus in each of those scores. This racial trait replaces the +2 bonus to any one ability score, the bonus feat, and the skilled traits.

So you could have it with the Adopted trait.

Adopted: You were adopted and raised by someone not of your actual race, and raised in a society not your own. As a result, you picked up a race trait from your adoptive parents and society, and may immediately select a race trait from your adoptive parents' race.

BUT, would it stack with the receiving race's bonus' to ability scores?

I'd argue that simply by being PC's you have special power.

Yes - but which ones - all of them in the special column of the class tables or just some of them that can be easily seen with the eyes, so the cohort is impressed by them.

The Exchange

Hmm two different answers, is there anywhere that actually states what a special power is and maybe a list?

The Exchange

I was hoping it would be more cut and dried than that, If that was the case, in a land full of Barbarians none of his powers would be special would they?

The Exchange

What counts as Special Powers when attracting Cohorts?
Take barbarian...
Is it fast movement, trap sense, uncanny dodge, rage powers etc?

The Exchange

My effective leadership level is 11, so I can get a 7th level Cohort.

1: - As i'm 7th level, I only get a cohort that is level 5? Is that correct?

A 5th level Monster Cohort is a Worg.
2: - For the purposes of Cohort level, is the Worgs level 5th? (as in, does it have 15,000 medium XP)
3: - So when it gains enough for 6th level (23,000 medium xp) do I then start giving it Class levels?
4: - If so where do the class levels start? 1st level or 6th?

4 questions there... Thanks for any help.

The Exchange

Ninja Lair (inside and out)
Monk monastry (inside and out)
City Scenes (slums, market\bazaar)

The Exchange

Does this feat mean you give up all your attacks for one attack that deals more damage?

OR

One of your attacks deals more damage?

The Exchange

Thanks...

So the general view is about CR 10 then it seems. Cheers.

The Exchange

Bonedrinker was more than 6, as it had spell caster levels and spell resistence...

The Exchange

Our party had a fight last night that consisted of:
6 x bugbears with each one having over 40 hit points
2 x Bugbear sorcerers\clerics
2 x Giant bats
1 x Bonedrinker that has spell resistence and spells ??

Whats the challenge rating of this encounter?

Luckily we managed to split the encounter with 2 walls of fire

Our average party level is 6 !!

The Exchange

OK thanks for your answers, Ive played all the BG series, Icewind dale, NWN series and all the add ons for each...

After reading the posts, MMOs don't sound like they're my 'cup of tea'

Thanks.

The Exchange

So these MMOs...

Are they story driven?

The combat - is it like NWN2? (third person top down - able to zoom right out using mouse wheel)

Can you play them on your own?

Thanks.

The Exchange

Can Paizo include PayPal as an option for payment.

I've just tried to purchase some items and there is no option for it that i could see.

Thank you.

The Exchange

Thankyou... email on its way.

The Exchange

Hello, i had a subscription with a British company called 'The Place for Games' for Dungeon Magazine and have emailed them several times, they in turn have passed my emails onto paizo, whom i have emailed several times also.

One reply from 'Cosmo Eisele' at Paizo after 5 emails over the course of 3 months! Which said someone called 'Corey Young' would be in contact with me - that was 25 days ago!

But still nothing.

Can someone from paizo please contact me - thanks.

The Exchange

Im not a subscriber and i can download the free pdf for the D0 module :-) Thankyou!

The Exchange

thanks for the reply

Hi - do you know of any retailers in Great Britain who sell this product?

The Exchange

Pathfinder will be available through the Esdevium distribution company, which I believe is the largest game distributor in Britain. I suspect it will also be sold to other game distributors there, but I'll leave the specifics to our sales guy. It wouldn't hurt to bug your game store manager so that he asks for it from his sales rep, though. The more "buzz" like that we can develop for this product, the more likely it will be successful. --Erik

Thanks for your reply Eric... In the Town i live in - in Britain, we have several Major news retailers.. Borders, Waterstones, WHSmiths and a comic\figure\graphic shop etc... unfortunately, none of them sell Dragon or Dungeon! It may be worth getting your 'sales guys' to try and get these major retailers to have it in stock... (i believe Borders are an american retailers aswell)

I think i may have to subscribe from an online store... (as i do now) and then straight from you guys when it runs out.

Hi

On page 31 of Dungeon Issue: 140, there are the stats for 'diamondback' - she is a Human BattleDancer...

It says underneath, that the batledancer class appeared in Dragon Compendium 26.

Can anyone tell me if these stats also appeared in an issue of Dragon? and which one?

many thanks - Matthew.

The Exchange

Will Paizo be distributing this magazine to Britain from the first issue, and can you provide a list of British companies where i could get it?

How many adventures will appear in each issue?

Will said adventures be aimed at low-middle-high PCs (as with the current content of Dungeon?)

Many thanks - Mattaus

The Exchange

I'm extremely angry!.. for several years now, i have been a reader and subscriber (from a British seller) of Dungeon and Dragon.. the same with seven people from my roleplay group...

The content of both magazines has made hundreds of evenings a pleasurable experience, not only that, but both magazines have been tweaked over the years to such a point as they are near perfect!

What a great loss to roleplayers everywhere!!

The Exchange

hi - does anyone have the rules for the 'human battle dancer' that appeared in dragon compendium 26 - but more recently in the savage tide adventure 'The Bullywug Gambit' (dungeon 140)- thanks.

The Exchange

Its just wrong, when i DM the males play males and the females play females or they dont play!

The Exchange

The Exchange

The Exchange

Hi all, i'd like to see perhaps a two part adventure involving ninjas. Starting at 1st level and spinning out to say 3rd? I cant remember ever seeing one in dungeon...

The Exchange
