It is indeed the standard action to concentrate that is slowing you down. Now you can still take your move action (to wade, swim, or even climb) but you can only take one and still maintain concentration. I play a lot of illusionists. I'm just going to place Xavier in an appropriate spot, assuming someone was either carrying him and placed him on the wrong end of an axe beak, or that he swam in. And I'll crowd Zahd in as well. A favorite of childhood nursery rhymes, like the scissor man who relieve thumb-suckers of their addictions, and the bed bugs that you don't want to bite, tooth fairies a of course interested and related strongly to teeth. Specifically, they fly about at night relieving those caught unaware, or made so by their magic of their teeth. What they do with the teeth is a matter of some conjecture. In the eastern corner, a large gilded cage sits mostly submerged, its waters thick with embalmed birds bobbing at the surface. A small, fishy-looking, feral woman with a gob full of mismatched teeth stands on a iron-plated bull's head and says something to Fentar the moment he wrangles the door open. Fentar Will save DC 17.

Like 'regular' nixies, bog nixies are mischievous and fickle creatures known for using magic to charm those they find interesting into spending time with them in their freshwater homes, with their haunting songs. Bog nixies however are dangerous and often end up drowning the objects of their fascination. Often both sorts transform into other forms both humanoid, and animal, to help facilitate their tricks. Razka's lips part in a sleepy grin. The combined chemical and magical lights sparkle off of them so hard and with such charisma that they chime. There's another sound from across the room, like sunrise over Springfield, or in this case the small lady with the large collection of teeth when Razka's pearly whites come into view. She grasps a small high-powered crossbow (on her turn from her seaweed belt), hops up and down, shrieking and pointing. She sings louder. Those in the party who know the Sylvan tongue can translate it. In the Common tongue it would go a bit like this:
The fat, little, gurgling tooth-thief that stole one of Dawn's canines visibly drools around the pilfered tooth that sticks out of its lower gum like an white ivory stalagmite in a wet pink cave. It repeatedly snaps its rusty pliers in anticipation.

The PC falls under the power of the small aquatic woman's captivating song! A victim under the effects of the captivating song moves toward the small, pale woman using the most direct means available. If the path leads them into a dangerous area such as through fire or off a cliff, that creature receives a second saving throw to end the effect before moving into peril. Captivated creatures can take no actions other than to defend themselves. A victim within 5 feet of the singer simply stands and offers no resistance to the singer’s attacks. This effect continues for as long as the small woman on the armored bull's head trophy sings, and for 1 round thereafter. This is a sonic mind-affecting charm effect. The save DC is Charisma-based. "Thank you. You haven't brought me any more have you? Millstone teeth perhaps? You see I grind them, and I always need more. See?" The tiny, chubby babies chortle and coo as they hover like dragonflies over a pond. The rosier of the two hiccups, and looks uncomfortably colicky.
"Man tye? " says small woman in an archaic form of Sylvan further garbled by her mismatched teeth. Her mouth seems full of different types of teeth some of them too big for her small size. Many are obviously from animals. She rises to her feet upon the bull's head. She has a worryingly feral look about her. Sylvan: "Who are you?" |
